Chapter 6

Home Sweet Home

Hermione smiled as she walked through the Ministry of Magic in England. 'It's so good to be back,' Hermione thought and she stepped into the aurors department. She had just finished setting up her new office in the International Magical Co-operation Department in the Ministry, after having taken a position as the Assistant Department head. She did not want to be stationed out of the country again and was glad to be back home.

"Harry! Ron!" Hermione yelled across the room and waved.

"Hermione!" They yelled standing from their desks and running over. "I didn't realize you would be back today!" Harry said pulling her into a hug. Ron grabbed her and picked her up spinning her around.

"I missed you guys so much," Hermione said as Ron set her down. "How is everyone? I have missed England terribly!"

"Everyone's great. Doing very well," Ron said, "Percy is getting married soon. George and Angelina, and Bill and Fleur are having a baby. Charlie is living in England again. I'm sure mum will want to have a party for your return," Ron continued and Hermione smiled.

"Didn't Bill and Fleur just have a baby?" Hermione asked with a laugh.

"Over a year ago! They have two girls. We are all hoping for a boy this time," Harry said with a smile. Hermione smiled and she felt a flutter in her stomach before her next question.

"How's Ginny?" Hermione asked, "I haven't heard from her since she went to Spain."

"She's ok. She has a hard time walking still. A bit of a limp, but you know Ginny, she can't stay down," Ron said with a slightly sad smile and his eyes cast down.

"Yeah, the healers said they didn't know if she would ever walk again, and she was up and out of bed in two weeks. She won't stay put. I can tell it hurts her quite a lot still, but she keeps going. I hope she doesn't overdo it in Spain," Harry said. Hermione nodded.

"That girl. She needs to take care of herself," Hermione said and the boys nodded. The three stood quietly for a moment before Hermione lightened the mood.

"So, I bought a house. Will you guys come and help me move in? I need strong young men to carry my furniture," Hermione joked, knowing they would all be using floating charms.

"You bought a house? So you're staying in England?" Harry asked excitedly.

"We thought they would send you away again," Ron said with a smile.

"I'm so over being away. I just want to be home!" Hermione exclaimed, making the boys grin, "I took a position in the department here, I'm not an ambassador anymore," Hermione said.

"That's awesome!" Harry said.

"Maybe we could have a moving party at your place? Get the old gang together," Ron said.

"That would be great! Does tomorrow sound good?" Hermione asked and they both nodded.

"I'll contact the other guys and see if they can come help and hang out," Harry said.

"Well, I should get back to my office and find out what my responsibilities will be here," Hermione said, "I will see you guys tomorrow." She hugged them both then waved goodbye.

Hermione made it to her office quickly and sat at her desk. She grabbed a quill and parchment.

'Ginny,

I'm home now and I miss you so much more.

Harry and Ron said you still have trouble walking. You need to take care of yourself! Be sure to try to stay off of your leg when you get tired and elevate it at night, a good rub now and again couldn't hurt if you have a friend or girlfriend or something who would do that. I miss you so much and can't wait for you to get back. Enjoy your lessons sex god. Be good to yourself.

Meanwhile, Ginny sat at her desk in her dorm in Spain. She smiled as she read the letter from Hermione. She stretched her legs and winced a bit, leaning down to rub her knee. Ginny sighed and set the letter down before reaching down with both hands and pulling her knee brace up and tightening it to get ready for the day of lessons. After it was secure she reached and grabbed a parchment.

'Hermione,

I'm so glad you are back. I'm sure being home is nice. I've only been gone for a week and I can hardly bare it. Especially knowing that you are back, I just want to come home. Three more weeks and I'll be done with this term. My potions masters class will start in London and that's the end of this long healing journey. I applied at St Mungos in London and have an offer pending my finals for this term and next. I miss you so incredibly much and think of you more and more everyday. Keep me posted…. and it's sex goddess!

Ginny stood and grimaced as she lightly put weight on her knee and breathed out slowly. It always hurt when she stood after sitting for too long.

A couple days later, Hermione smiled at her desk at home as she read Ginny's letter. She looked up as the boys and some friends walked in.

"Hermione, are we going to have food tonight? If I'm moving your furniture I should get food," Ron said with a smile.

"Well, perhaps if I hadn't had to wait two days," Hermione said, rolling her eyes before standing from the desk and leading the group to the kitchen.

"We got sent on a mission! It's not our fault! We finished quick though," Harry said leaning on her kitchen counter. "This place is so nice, Hermione… pretty big for just you," Harry said looking around.

"Well, it's an investment, Harry. I don't want to move around a lot," Hermione said and started a bit seeing a man she didn't know following Neville in.

"Hello," Hermione said awkwardly.

"Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot. This is Mason Dandridge, he's an Auror from Canada that is spending some time here. He's my responsibility so I couldn't get rid of him. It's his first night here," Ron said.

"Ron, don't be rude," Hermione said, "It's nice to meet you, Mason. I'm sorry for my rude friend and sorry you got stuck coming to help me move," Hermione said, shaking his hand.

"That's fine, it's nice to do something not work related and Ron has been great, he likes to tease me about not wanting me around, but it's all good fun," Mason said with a dashing smile. Hermione smiled back.

"Let's get to work!" Ernie yelled as him, Hannah, Anthony and Luna entered.

Late that evening, Hermione looked at her house and smiled. She was all moved in and everything looked nice. Ron had only destroyed one end table in the process, but it was a fun time. At the end of the night Mason had asked Hermione on a date and she accepted, liking his handsome and charming personality.

Hermione walked to her new bedroom and opened the drawer of her dresser looking for pajamas. She smiled when she found the black pair of panties sitting in her knicker drawer. Hermione pulled them out and ran her hand across the silky lace material.

She remembered coming home from work in America and finding all of her things from England there. She had rummaged through her bed stripping it of the sheets to be changed and found the redheads black panties on the ground afterwards.

Hermione sighed and put them back in the drawer. She always kept them there thinking sometime she would give them back to Ginny, although she doubted she truly would.
