Right, here we are lads, minions and everyone else. Another crappy tappy chapter of this done. Go me!

I'm no no stranger to handling large amounts of money. When I ran with ran with gang and were a pretty high up member, I was used to being brought along on weapons deals and even drug deals. Especially when I was the up and coming muscle.

Granted, I ran with that gang right up until I ended up here a few days ago, but still.

But dropping a total of one thousand, five hundred pokedollars, a whole one tenth of my total amount of money was almost heart breaking. It was an investment I told myself as consolation. What I was spending now, would make me back much more in the future.

Twenty Pokeballs, thirty full heals, ten potions and fifty damn bags of pokemon food. As mentioned, it came to a total of one thousand, five hundred. A lot cheaper than I was expecting and a lot cheaper than in the games. I even got two premiere balls as an added bonus for free and a meal for me and Rui free of charge for spending so much. Hell, I bought out this guys stock on pokemon food, and man was he shocked that anybody wanted to buy that many pokeballs. The ones he'd had in a box under his counter were literally caked in dust because it'd been that long since anybody had bought any from him.

While I ate, I made some plans with Rui. I kind of wanted to head to Gateon Port. Getting my hands on a Gyarados would be amazing and a powerhouse like that would be a real big help. And, the biggest reason was the fact that if Rui was tagging along with me, she would definitely need a pokemon or two to keep herself safe.

She was very against heading to Gateon Port though without an electric type or two because of the Gyarados though. She cited that very few people were capable of taming a Gyarados, to the point where she'd never heard of anyone in Orre managing it.

I reluctantly agreed with her. Not because I didn't think I could take one or tame it, but mostly because the idea I had for a pokemon for her that should be easy to find at a port, were either Wingull or Pelipper, didn't seem worth going out of mu way to head to Gateon Port if she was so against a Gyarados at this point.

So instead, I decided to just head straight for Pyrite Town to hit up the Pyrite Colosseum, and see about confirming if they were actually giving out Shadow Pokemon there. And the thought of more winnings like TM's and money certainly appealed to me quite a bit as well.

And on the way, I let Vibrava and Misgamius out of their pokeballs and had them scouring the area as I drove towards Pyrite Town following the map on my PDA.

And what do you know. They actually found something.

"There it is!" Rui stood up in her seat beside me pointing about a hundred feet in the distance at a large rocky outcropping jutting up out of the sand. The truck I stole as it turned out, had a convertible roof. Weird, but far from the oddest thing I'd seen since you got here, and it kind of made sense in a way since this was a desert region and all.

Vibrava and Mismagius had returned just a minute ago after having apparently found a pokemon and led us towards here.

I squinted over the steering wheel, and yeah, I could see it now to. There was something pink on there that became much clearer a few moments later. I made it out to be scorpion-like in body, yet bipedal and with blue webbed wings under its arms.

"It's a Gligar," I recognised it. I turned to my right, looking out the window at the two pokemon cruising through the air beside the truck, "Alright Vibrava use-"

"Wait, wait!" Rui hurriedly cut me off and grinned at me, "Let me try and tempt it first before you beat it up. It'll be much easier in the long run if it wants to come with me, right?"

I raised an eyebrow at her, before shrugging, "It's up to you," I replied, and well, I kind of liked her gumption, "Just run back if it tries to attack you then alright?"

"It's fine, don't worry!" Rui flashed me a thumbs up as we pulled to a stop a moment later. She didn't even bother opening the truck door and just hopped over it.

She ducked back behind me a as she hopped out, and I could see her in the rear view mirror opening up one of the bags of pokemon food and taking a handful. 'Gonna bribe it with food huh?' I thought, nodding in understanding. It was a pretty decent plan. After all, it wasn't like there was much to eat out in a desert like this, right?

A moment later, the orange haired girl was jogging towards the rocky outcropping across the sand at a decent pace. And I'm not going to lie, but my eyes definitely strayed to that curvy rear end of hers, stretching out that tiny, tight little white skirt like a curved shelf.

What? Rui is hot man.

I shook my head and turned to the two pokemon just hovering in the air beside the truck, waiting for any commands, "Good work you two," I praised them, standing up a bit in my own seat to lean over and reach out to pat them both in the head. As always, their expressions didn't change, but they leaned into my touch almost eagerly.

I turned back to look at Rui who had just reached the rock where the Gligar was resting. She was animatedly gesturing to it, while it just kind of stared at her. On the plus side, it wasn't acting aggressive at all.

It hopped towards her curiously when she held out her hands filled with pokemon food and examined it oddly, before actually leaning down a second later and eating the food from her hands. Tentatively at first, but then picked up speed and chowed down until the orange haired girls hands were empty.

Before long, it was happily interacting with her, its long tongue hanging from its mouth giving it a cute, dumb look. It totally reminded me of Ash's Gliscor, I loved that thing.

A moment later she pulled out one of the pokeballs she had. She'd only had one originally, but bought a few more at the Outskirt Stand at my prompting, since she'd need more than one pokemon to keep her safe beyond me with the shit we'd be dealing with.

She showed off the pokeball to the Gligar and after a bit of back and forth, I saw it nod eagerly at that and she touched the pokeball gently to its forehead and a second later, the pokeball popped open and sucked it inside without any effort.

And just a few moments later, the orange haired girl was jogging back towards the truck, a massive smile on her face, "Yahoo!" she cheered as she approached and held the pokeball out for me to see as she stopped in front of the truck, "Check it out, I caught my first pokemon, gramps is gonna be so proud!" she bounced in place and it did delight things to her bodacious chest stretching out her tiny purple top.

"Good job," I praised her, and I meant it, it was interesting to see her gain the Gligar's agreement outright before capturing it, and her method was a nice gentle approach that reminded me of friendly world that first tempted me in through the games and anime. I'd be keeping that in mind from now on, "Though, where the heck will you get a Razor Fang around here?" maybe some of the colosseums will give them out as a prize?

"What's a Razor Fang?" Rui blinked and gave me a confused look.

With a pokemon of her own, and after I graciously took the time to explain to Rui what a Razor Fang was, and what it was used for. We continued on our way to Pyrite Town.

Pyrite Town itself, was while once again a small settlement, even smaller than Phenac City, it was another more or less, architectural wonder. What else could I call a settlement hewn into and throughout a massive canyon.

It took us another couple of hours to arrive at the place, and as we did, I saw that the only true entrance to the place was a narrow, yet evenly pathed road between two towering crimson canyon walls.

As we pulled up though, someone stood in the way, blocking me from driving into the town.

"Well, well well, what do we have here?" an older green haired teen, about Rui's age grinned at us as I pulled to a stop in front of him. He was dressed in a black and orange jumpsuit with goggles over his eyes, "Looks like I've found me some fresh meat."

I looked at Rui who just shrugged, and then I sighed and gave him a deadpan look, "Out of the way jackass." I ordered him.

"Oh don't worry, I'll let you pass," the guy chuckled, before leering at me greedily, "That is if you pay the toll."

...Is he fucking serious right now? "You're kidding, right?" I couldn't help but ask, deadpan.

"I could be," he shrugged, before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a pokeball, "I'm not though. I'm only looking out for your health here kid, me and my pokemon might get a little violent if you newbies don't fork over the cash. Pyrite Town's a rough place, you know? Ol' Cail is just being kind and letting you know things work here."

My eyebrows rose. 'Cail, if I'm not wrong, that's the name of that guy from the games.' I thought. This dude should have a shadow pokemon.

Well either way, I'm not taking any of his crap. I revved the engine, loud and accelerator forward just a few inches.

Predictably, the green haired teen gave a yelp and drove to the side, letting me drive into the town.

"Uncool you little prick!" Cail called loudly from behind the truck.

He probably wasn't expecting me to pull the truck to a stop as soon as it got within the first few inches of the canyon and passed the entrance.

"Huh, seems he's not as tough as he likes to make out," Rui giggled, "So, why did you stop?"

I grinned at her and pulled a pokeball from my belt, "I'm gonna check and see if this guy has any shadow pokemon." I replied, before hopping over the truck door and landing on the outside of it.

"Oh, alright then," Rui nodded, before turning in her seat and leaning over the chair to look back over at me, "I'll keep an eye out and tell you if any of them have the aura like all your pokemon do."

I gave her a thumbs up and made my way over to Cail as he stood up and dusted himself off. "You're absolutely crazy kid," he snorted, turning to face me, "But it's good you came back instead of running, I've got this new pokemon I just won I've been itching to test out, you'll make a good practice dummy."

He wasn't even trying to hide it, huh? Oh well, it just made things easier for me in the long run.

"Whatever you say moron," I rolled my eyes, "Though, when I win, I'm gonna make you tell me something about this town." specifically, where all the people who had Shadow Pokemon tended to hang out.

Cail burst out laughing, "Me, lose? That's a good one kid, but sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm one of the best battlers you'll find in this place!" he laughed, "But sure, you beat me and I'll tell you what I know!" He pulled an extra pokeball out and then released the pokemon from both the red and white spheres in his hands.

A large muscular humanoid with a reptillian face and blue skin, alongside a small humanoid with dark tawny brown skin, a leaf on its head and a long pointy nose appeared in front of him.

A Machoke and a Nuzleaf.

A fighting type and a dual grass and dark type. Well, I've got the perfect counter for this. I grabbed a second pokeball myself, before pressing the buttons on the pokeballs and letting them out.

In twin bursts of light, Mismagius and Grovyle appeared in front of me. And I didn't bother waiting for any confirmation for the battle to start. "Mismagius Psybeam on Machoke, Grovyle blitz the Nuzleaf and X-scissor it!" I orderded sharply.

Cail, at the exact same time, was on the same page, "Nuzleaf Feint Attack on the ghost, Machoke use Foresight!" he commanded.

Nuzleaf sprinted forward rapidly, dark energy surrounding its form, while red light fired from Machoke's eyes. A red light that was blown right through by twin beams of prismatic energy fired from Misgmagius' eyes a split moment later.

"Ma!" the fighting type gave a cry of pain as the twin psychic type blasts slammed into its chest and carried it right through the air to slam into one of the canyon walls, hard.

Cail clicked his tongue, but didn't say anything, instead he let his Machoke take the blast while Nuzleaf rushed the ghost type.

Grovyle disappeared in a blur of speed, appearing in front of the dual grass and dark type a moment later, twin scythes of crimson energy extending from his wrists.

Nuzleaf immediately, narrowly dodging the first slashing energy scythe, blasting the dark energy outwards to force it back, before rushing back in a moment, concentrating the dark energy around its fists and unleashing a rapid barrage of punches at Grovyle.

Grovyle weaved around them, and slashed, only for Nuzleaf to raise its energy clad fists in a cross block and block the blow. "Leaf!" it gave a cry of pain though, when a moment later, Grovyle powered right through and slashed the bug type energy blade right down its front, cutting through the dark type energy it was using to block.

"Grovyle up, Mismagius, Mystic Fire, hit them both!" I shouted.

Immediately at my words, Grovyle leaped high into the air as Mismagius drew a circle of flame in the air and then thrust her hands out through the middle of it. A massive gout of flame erupted and slammed into the Nuzleaf, carrying it through the air towards Machoke where it was slammed into the fighting type rising to its feet and both were consumed in the wave of flame and ploughed into the canyon wall.

When Mismagius let the attack fade a good few moments later, both Machoke and Nuzleaf were collapsed in a soot covered heap, while the canyon wall itself had been charred black from where the flames washed over it.

"What the hell!?" Cail gaped looking between me and my pokemon wide eyed as they took up space in front of me again. "How strong are those two!?" he shook his in disbelief as he brought his two pokemon back and then clicked his tongue.

"Well, whatever I've still got two left, I can do this!" Cail psyched himself up, and replaced the two pokeballs of his defeated pokemon with two more, "Come out Snubbul, Furret!"

The two pokemon that appeared in front of him in twin bursts of light, were a small pink bull-dog looing creature and an incredibly long, very cute and furry ferret pokemon.

A fairy type and a normal type. 'Grovyle's Iron Tail will work well on Snubbul.' I mused.

"Jett!" I heard Rui call and I looked ove my shoulder to see her staring wide eyed at Furret, "That's one!" she told me.

"Snubbul Shadow Ball!" Cail ordered, taking advantage of me looking away, pointing at Mismagius, "Furret Helping Hand!"

Snubbul immediately began forming a large sparking sphere of power above its head, easily becoming twice its size in both height and width in mere months. And a split moment later, Furret glowed with a golden aura that surged into the air and surrounded Snubbul, and as it did, the Shadow Ball doubled, if not tripled in size in all the time it took to blink, becoming larger even than my truck.

And with a thrust of Snubbul's stubby little pink paws, the massive sphere of ghost type energy shot off like a cannon. And it had to be as fast as a bullet because I couldn't even track it with my eyes alone.

The ground shook and smoke covered the area, blinding me. "Mismagius!" I shouted in worry, if she took a hit like that..!

I waited in baited breath, my rapidly beating in my chest as the smoke began to dissipate. What met my eyes though, was not what I was expecting. Instead of Mismagius down and out, she was fine, hovering in the air behind Grovyle, both of them completely safe within a large green spherical barrier.

Protect.

...I had taught Grovyle Protect with the TM I got from Phenac City's Colosseum. I wanted all my pokemon to learn it, and thought that Grovyle would be the best bet to have him teach the rest how to do it. Paul from the anime had shown me, just how absurdly overpowered Protect really was.

Man am I glad I did that. "Great job Grovyle!" I cheered, "Now charge up a Focus Punch for the Furret, and Mismagius, rush them and get them with Confuse Ray!"

Grovyle dropped the glowing green spherical barrier and rose both hands, curled into fists into the air in front of him and concentrated, a faint white light surrounding his arms and beginning to brighten rapidly.

Mismagius on the other hand shot through the air, rapidly flying towards both the Snubbul and the Furret like a rocket.

"Tch! Snubbul Shadow Ball again! Furret, Shadow Rush it!" Cail countered.

A swirling aura of darkness surged up around Furret's body like an armoured cloak and the normal type shot forward towards Mismagius to reach her, rapidly running on all fours.

A moment later, Snubbul created another purple sparking sphere of ghost type energy and fired it directly from behind Furret. The orb shot right through Furret's body, overtaking it and using Furret's body to hide it until the last moment.

It screamed towards Mismagius. It was actually a very cheeky, very smart little combo, and I'm going to keep it in mind for later. To bad for them though, that won't work.

Mismagius dipped low and sank into the ground, phasing right through it, allowing the Shadow Ball and Furret using Shadow Rush to tear through empty air.

She surged up a moment later in front of Snubbul, her eyes glowing with ominous light that washed over the fairy type. It immediately began to stumble in place as its eyes went glassy and unfocused.

"Behind you!" I shouted as I saw Furret spin around and launch back towards her.

Mismagius spnu herself, and just as Furret was upon her, the glow of her eyes washed over it as well. It skidded, legs going jelly beneath it and the shadow aura surrounding its form dissipating as it crashed face first into the rough ground.

"Shit, no!" Cail cursed, "Get a hold of yourselves you idiots!"

A moment later, Grovyle made his move and blitzed forward. He rushed the downed Furret and kicked it from its underside, lifting it up into the air and then delivered a one, two, three combo on the normal type shadow pokemon. Two blindingly fast jabs, and then an uppercut, each one striking with enough force to generate a set of shock waves.

The Furret went limp and was sent soaring towards me. And Grovyle wasn't finished and blitzed Snubbul before it could regain its composure. Another set of jabs and an uppercut, followed by a metallic glowing tail, a super efffective Iron Tail attack slammed into the fairy type and put it down hard in front of its trainer.

"...No way, I didn't stand a chance at all." Cail gaped at his downed pokemon.

I wasn't going to waste my chance here either. I reached into one of the black satchels hanging from my belt and pulled out a shrunken pokeball, enlarging it in my right hand and pressing the buttons of the Snag Machine into it. Purple energy seeped into the pokeball, turning it into a Snag Ball and I bent down, touching the altered pokeball to the limp form of Furret.

It popped open and sucked the shadow pokemon inside.

"What the hell are you doing!?" Cail's eyes went wide when he saw what I did, "How the fuck...!?"

A second later, the pokeball in my hand let loose a ping sound and stopped moving, signifying the capture of Furret.

"..My...my Shadow Pokemon!" he screamed in shock, collapsing to his knees. His eyes landed on the Snubbul at his feet, and then he hurriedly pulled used its pokeball to recall the downed fairy type pokemon.

He stumbled to his feet and turned, attempting to run. Only, Grovyle appeared in front of him in a blur before he even got three steps, cutting him off. "Shit!" he gave a panicked shout and stumped backwards away from my grass type pokemon.

"And where do you think you're going?" I smirked, making my way over towards him, "There's something you promised to give after I won right?"

Cail gave me a horror filled look, "No! You can't have Machoke, Nuzleaf and Snubbul, I don't care bout' the damn Furret, but these three ain't going anywhere kid!" he shouted at me.

"Don't worry, I have no interest in stealing your other pokemon," I assured him, "I'm only after the Shadow Pokemon, which is what I want to know. Is it true that winners at the Colosseum get given them? And where abouts can I find others here at Pyrite with Shadow Pokemon themselves?"

The older green haired teen sang like a bird.

Man, I must be intimidating. Intimidating, and awesome.

And there's the end of the chapter. I added a profile for Rui to help keep track of her as well. Appendixes are useful like that on akun. And now, Jett officially has 6 pokemon.

Now, since this is based in the manga world. There isn't a six pokemon limit. Red was toting around like 40-50 pokemon early on before he met Bill and the PC got created. And it's not a law or anything they have to use it, more like a convenience kind of thing.

Rui rolled pretty well for her Gligar, it was a 1d25 roll and she outright rolled just one below the maximum.
