Chapter 6

The Hufflepuff common room may look like a dull place for the Lions of Gryffindor, or the Crows of Ravenclaw or Snakes of Slytherin. But for the Badgers, there was no place like home. It may be a basement, but there were no rats. Nature colors surrounded the common room, and with small circle windows, the light of the sun entered with warmth and joy to reflect the castle's coziest commonplace. Plants and flowers enveloped the place with peace and an earthy feeling of welcoming. From small doors connecting the outside of the castle. A few bunnies made their way to eat from the small farm inside the common room. Where the oldest student took care of them. Such a peaceful place to be was the comfy place of the Badgers.

And there, in the middle of the common room. Harriet Potter, the Girl-Who-Lived, sat on the comfy sofa reading about Occlumency. There were many things she had to know. Since yesterday, her head has been hurting, and it has become more bothersome as hours went by.

"Mm, Legilimency… ah, there it is."

From the many applications of Legilimency. Three stand out as the primary focus of the art of mind-reading. Interrogation, mind-healing, and mind-fortitude. Yet, aside from that, one of the biggest concerns of if use it's the apparent damage someone could suffer. The brain is the sensitive part of the human anatomy, and the most important. Using Legilimency wrongly could cause a vast list of damages. From internal bleeding, detriment in the Frontal Lobe, and even loss of memory. However, someone must know that the intentions of the caster take a huge part in the spell's outcome. For example, someone with dark intentions will always cause pain to the subject. From a pulsating pain inside their brain to an icy feeling in their nerves. It can vary, but the outcome remains the same. Be aware.

"I understand that, but what about the pain? How can I identify it?"

Magical Scars are the left-overs of a powerful curse that damage not only a physical body but leaves scars in the nervous system. And sometimes psychological ones. Legilimency might cause some of the latter, if not used carefully and in the hands of a professional. They could cause injuries inside the brain, and the psyche of a patient or victim. The pain has different variants, and someone with Occlumency could feel it in more detail. They are as follows.

Harriet read with care the lines in the book and got more worried as she kept on reading.

"From what I see, if someone wants to read or see inside my head without my consent. It would lead to pain because my Occlumency wall would try to protect me, or something like that. Mind-fortitude? Mm, I think I have heard about it from my mom. They don't actually see memories, but help the wizard or witch to sort out their own mind. To help them move on from a trauma, by helping them to face those memories. They sound like the wizarding equivalent of a psychiatrist. That's very interesting."

Harriet felt another throbbing pain in her head, deep inside. Her scar felt like burning, and she did not know why.

"I have to write this to my parents. They need to know."

Harriet kept on reading the book in her hands. Trying to find whatever information she could about her problem.

"Wotcher, Harriet! You truly wake up early than most!" A pink-haired girl said.

Harriet glanced at her with a smile.

"Hello there, my dear and beautiful Nymphadora. How are you doing this fine morning? Did you sleep well?" Harriet said.

"Ugh, don't call me like that, please!"

"I apologize, Dora. Old habits die hard."

"I'm sure they do," Dora said, grumbling.

"What are you reading?" Dora asked.

Harriet showed her the cover page of the book, and Dora frowned at the sight of it. "Don't you think, Occlumency and Legilimency, it's to advanced for you?" Dora asked.

"I know Occlumency, and with all honesty. I'm not interested in Legilimency too much. What I'm trying to research, it's about the effects of Legilimency attacks on someone's brain. The only reason I'm reading all of this, is because someone has been trying to get into my head since I arrived at Hogwarts. The pain has left me with a headache, and a sore scar."

"What?! That's horrible, Harriet! Do you know how dangerous that is?! Someone could literally make your brain melt!" Dora said with a worried face.

"I know, Dora. That's why I will send a letter to my parents this morning. And I will have to keep an eye out for whom ever wants to do that to me."

"Keep an eye out? Harriet, if someone is doing something like that to you, he or she could go to Azkaban!"

"Because I'm the heiress of a powerful noble ancient house?"

"Well, yes… Of course! This is illegal, Harriet."

"Don't worry about me, Dora. Trust me."

"Harriet, I know you are probably the smartest witch in the school in these moments. I mean, bloody hell! You can cast non-verbal spells with no problem and have the knowledge of a seven-year student. But you still need to be careful."

Harriet stared at the pink-haired witch with a smile. Nymphadora has been always someone she liked. Although, the pink-haired girl has the coordination of a newborn fawn. The girl was smart, and a capable duelist. But she was also someone who Harriet enjoyed spending time with, maybe it was because of how easily was to tease her with random things. Like her name and her lack of coordination. But Dora was an amazing person. Really gentle, and loyal to default, someone who Harriet could trust.

"I will, thank you, Dora."

"Do you need something? We should go to Madam Pomfrey, especially if the pain comes from your scar."

"I highly doubt there is anything that could mend the pain of the scar, Dora. I will like, however, to have something for the headache."

"Alright, let's go then!"

"Wait, now?"

"Of course! What are you thinking waiting until the end of the day?! I'm now your senior, so you are my responsibility!" Dora said as she took Harriet's hand, and practically drag the young girl with her.

"Ah, Dora, wait, I haven't dressed up properly!" Harriet said as she was still in her pajamas.

"No matter, your health if more important! Besides, you always look cute in anything," Dora said with a smirk.

"It's only an enormous shirt and a small pair of shorts," Harriet pointed to her Queen's shirt and small Spiderman shorts.

"I still don't know who is this Queen," Dora said.

"The Queen, please! Respect Freddie Mercury!"

"Whatever, you still look cute."

Much to Harriet's relief, the rest of the school seemed still asleep. The green-eyed girl should have expected as much. Kids rarely wake up too early. Only the older students were awake and doing only gods know what. As they were walking to the Hospital Wing, another Hufflepuff student approached them. From what Harriet knew from the previous day, the name of the boy was Cedric Diggory. Not something hard to forget since every first-year student was blushing deeply at the sight of the gorgeous young man. Harriet admitted Cedric was a truly handsome man. But he did not woo her.

For Harriet, he was just another Hufflepuff.

"Hey, Dora, good morning," said the fourth-year old student.

"Not now, Cedric, I have to take her to the Hospital Wing!" Dora said, with an incredibly dramatic tone of voice.

Cedric glanced at Harriet, who only gave an awkward nod.

"It's something wrong? Should I call Professor Sprout?" Cedric said.

"Please do, I'm going to take her now."

"Wait a minute, both of you!" Harriet said. "This is too much, you don't have to bother anyone else!"

Harriet wanted to avoid more attention as possible. She has never been one to like the spotlight or to bring a concern to anyone. It was the way she was, always has been. If Harriet felt sick, or in pain, normally she would just deal with it by herself. But since she got a family and people who worried for her. It has been a constant battle of getting used to that type of awareness around her persona.

That's why she felt anxious about people treating her like that. Or, well, it makes her feel uneasy when people show concern for her wellbeing.

"None of that, miss Potter. We're badgers, we always stick together in anything," said Cedric with a dashing smile.

"That's right, Harriet, we are going to always have your back!" Dora said smiling.

"Oh, god! Those are some dashing smiles!" Harriet thought in dismay.

"Fine! Fine! Stop smiling! It's to powerful for me," Harriet said.

"It's the famous badger smile, young miss Potter!" Cedric said.

"Alright, you bring Professor Sprout to the Hospital Wing while I take this little cute badger there," Dora said.

"See you there," Cedric said.

"I'm not a cute little badger," Harriet added to the conversation.

"Yes, you are!" Both Cedric and Dora replied.

Harriet groaned but said no more.

As they entered the Hospital Wing, Harriet couldn't help herself but notice the vast amount of beds. Her father was right, the place was enormous. Although she hoped it would be the only time she would visit such a place. Her mother's poor heart could not live in peace if she has the same problems as her beloved father. Dora guided her where an old lady, around her early fifties, seemed to catalog the inventory of the nursing ward. There she was, the famous Madam Poppy Pomfrey, Harriet has heard so much about.

"Hello there, Poppy! Good morning!"

Madam Pomfrey only stared at the smiling pink-haired girl and huffed.

"It's Madam Pomfrey to you, Miss Nymphadora Tonks," she said.

Dora cringed at the sound of her name being said, but wise enough did not reply. Harriet could only smirk at the face of the Hufflepuff girl.

"Now, what have you done this early? We're only starting the year and you are causing problems already?" She said.

"Me?! Never!" Dora said.

Madam Pomfrey could only stare in disbelief at the pink-haired girl, but could only reply with a smile. The girl was always a ball of sunshine. Then Madam Pomfrey saw it. A beautiful girl with green eyes, dark hair, and a long white lock of hair. Stood there with an awkward smile. The old healer nurse knew immediately who the girl was.

"You have your mother's eyes," Madam Pomfrey said.

Harriet smiled at the compliment since it was not the first time she has been told that. Yet it was nice to hear every time.

"Thank you," said Harriet.

"Now, what is this about?" Pomfrey asked as she stared at the Hufflepuff duo.

Madam Pomfrey noticed the sudden shift in Dora's body. She knew that the usually joking girl with pink hair change to a more serious person. Showing the maturity of a growing young woman. Why is that? What is going on? Madam Pomfrey thought with worry as she stared at the Girl-Who-Lived. As a healer, Pomfrey trained to notice lingering effects of magic on her patients. So, she could notice the pulsating dark magic emanating from Harriet's scar. It was a small lingering pulsation, but it was there. Like a bug eating some of Harriet's magic, like parasite of sorts, creating harm to the young girl. But how much damage? Pomfrey was not sure.

"Madam Pomfrey, someone has been trying to get into Harriet's mind," Dora said in a serious voice.

Madam Pomfrey's eyes widened in shock.

"What?"

"Someone has been poking holes in my brain. That's what is going on, madame Pomfrey. I'm trained in Occlumency, that's why I can tell you that someone has been attacking me," Harriet said.

To master the art of Occlumency at such a young age was unheard of by Pomfrey, yet there it was in front of her. However, it makes sense that the Girl-Who-Lived could do such a thing. But pushing that aside, for now, Pomfrey attention was on the fact that someone has been trying to get inside of a child's mind. The practice of Legilimency was illegal itself if they did not do it in a controlled environment, as a medical one or magisterial. And for obvious reasons, the damage it could cause to someone if used incorrectly was irredeemable. To hear Harriet was the victim of a Legilimency attack, put Pomfrey on edge. Since it could bring pain to the young girl.

"That's… Please, Miss Potter, sit right here."

Harriet obeyed and sat down. Dora stood right next to her and had a strange look on her face. Something that brought confusion to Harriet for an odd reason.

"Miss Potter, please tell me when it happened, and what did you feel."

"Well, it took place yesterday, during the welcoming ceremony. When I entered the Great Hall, I felt a pulsating feeling… As if something wanted to make me feel, sad and weak. Exhausted even. But then it stopped. It was a quick sensation, but it confused me."

Madam Pomfrey listened to every word as she wrote it all in her notebook.

"What then?" Pomfrey asked.

"Ah, well… Oh, yes, I was staring at one professor. The one with black hair and black eyes. It was then, when I felt a horrible pain inside my head. Like someone trying to push a needle inside my brain. Or, well, a nail. I could feel it all over my skull, it was incredibly painful. But I also felt another pain, that came from my scar. This one was as burning sensation, as if someone was holding a candle in front of my scar. I thought my skin was melting."

Madam Pomfrey and Dora shivered at the description of such events. Truly, Pomfrey only got more worried as she heard all of those things. The description of the needle or nail being pushed inside her brain she could understand. That was a Legilimency attack, and a vicious one at that. Yet, the scar worried Pomfrey equally. That burning sensation, the feeling of skin being melted. That was not good either.

Magical Scars were incredibly dangerous, and hard to deal with.

Then there was the possibility of a professor using Legilimency on the young girl. And from what Harriet has told her, there was only one person who Madam Pomfrey thought was responsible for it. Severus Snape. The potion master of Hogwarts. Why would he do such a thing? The matron of Hogwarts may not like his teaching style, but since he got in the post of Potion teacher there. No student has died in the last ten years.

So why? There was something wrong with all of this. The old witch would not lie and say she was not afraid of what could all of lead to.

"Miss Potter, if you may, I will cast a spell over your scar. Would that be alright with you?" Pomfrey asked.

Harriet would not lie and say she was not uncomfortable by having someone pointing a wand at her. However, Madam Pomfrey was a trained healer, so she sighed. Harriet would allow her to do so. She needed to know anything about her scar and more.

"Alright, I trust you, Madam Pomfrey," Harriet said.

The old witch smiled at her. "I trust you don't mind, having Dora next to you?" Madam Pomfrey asked.

"Not at all, she is family."

Dora smiled as she took Harriet's hand. A gesture both of them liked.

"Now, miss Potter, please stand still. You may feel a strange shivery feeling on your skin. But don't worry, is the spell."

On her forehead, a shivering feeling emerged and made Harriet gasp at the sudden feeling. There was no pain. It was as if someone put a bag of ice on her head. Then, there was a sudden feeling of electricity running through her body. A feeling of numbness, of isolation, creep on Harriet. She didn't like it. No, Harriet hated it. But before she could speak, a sharp pain came directly from her scar. As if something was fighting off whatever Madam Pomfrey was trying to do.

"Stop!" Harriet yelled.

"Harriet?" Dora asked, with a worried tone.

"What is happening here?"

Dora turned around and saw the head of Hufflepuff entering the Medical Ward with Cedric next to her. Both of them looked as they came on running. A part of the pink-haired girl was glad another adult was here, as she was watching Harriet holding her head in pain.

"Professor Sprout!" Dora yelled.

"Poppy, what is going on with my student?" Professor Sprout asked as she rushed the student who was moaning in pain.

"I… I don't know, Pomona, there is something living inside her scar. Something dark and is draining Harriet's magic and opening a wound inside her head."

"Miss Potter, are you alright?" Professor Sprout asked in a worried tone.

Harriet could feel a strong migraine coming up. But otherwise, she was fine, or so she thought.

"I think so, just a strong migraine, that's all."

"Miss Potter, It is my believe that we should take you to St Mungo's immediately. Whatever it on your scar, it's causing damage to your magical core and your brain. I can't do more. Mind-healing it's outside my area of expertise. The only thing I can do, it's give some potions that can help you with the pain."

Harriet groaned at the idea of leaving Hogwarts just a day after arriving. Then there were her parents. She hated alarming her parents for nothing. But there was nothing else, Harriet needed to take care of herself. Having something damaging her mind and brain was a big no-no. Still, she wondered who was the one attacking her mind. Who could it be and why? Maybe she would find out soon.

"Could the Legilimency attack cause my scar pain? Could it be the reason for the migraine?" Harriet asked.

"It could be, I don't know. Maybe there are two difference reactions," Madam Pomfrey said.

"Still, a Legilimency attack at Hogwarts… We must tell professor Dumbledore about this. We should also send a letter to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, as well. Someone just mind attack a student and not just any student. But an heiress of two Most Ancient and Noble houses. It's a serious crime," Professor Strout said.

The last thing Harriet wanted was to involve Dumbledore in all of this. Her parents have warned her about him, and she was not about to call for his help. No matter what. Who knows what could he do to her while she was in this state? Harriet felt expose and fragile. The Girl-Who-Lived was already thinking about what type of summons could she use if the worst comes to pass. Harriet was already planning an escape plan, or offensive attack she could use to protect herself from the old wizard. That, supposedly, was the strongest wizard living today. Well, besides Voldemort. And because of exactly that. Harriet felt intimidated by being next to Dumbledore.

How powerful he was? Harriet was not sure, that's why she wanted to avoid any confrontation. Even though she was not sure if he was her enemy.

"Please professor Strout, don't tell Dumbledore about this. Can I just send a letter to my parents? Also, the head of the DMLE, it's practically my aunt."

Both Madam Pomfrey and Professor Strout stared at the girl, confused by why someone would want to avoid Dumbledore's involvement. Yet, that was not something they could do. As the headmaster of Hogwarts, Dumbledore needed to be notified about such a thing.

"That's not something we can do, miss Potter. We must notify professor Dumbledore about this."

"Please, professor! I can send a letter to my uncle! He is Lord Black!" Dora said.

"Exactly! My father is Lord Potter, and they both Aurors captains too!" Harried said, hoping they would listen.

"Miss Potter, Miss Tonk. I know, that Lord Black and Lord Potter are both highly decorated Aurors. But the thing is, while in Hogwarts, we must inform professor Dumbledore about such an attack in a student."

"But…!"

"I'm sorry, miss Potter."

"Miss Potter, you must understand the seriousness of this incident."

Harriet groaned in frustration but understood the rules and regulations both Madam Pomfrey and Professor Sprout had to follow. Yet she hated it. What else could she do? But to accept it and hope for the best? And that was the problem. Harriet hated to be at the mercy of others. Especially those who could harm her. The more she thought about it, the more the migraine grew.

Madam Pomfrey noticed and went for some potions.

"Here, miss Potter. This blue potions would help you get rid of the headache for now. The other one, will reduce any inflammation or soreness from the scar. Hopefully, it would reduce any pain you are feeling, for now."

Harriet sighed but took those potions. She couldn't think straight with such a headache.

"Good, now, Miss Potter, I would like for you to stay in here for today. While we call for you parents and the rest of the authorities," said Professor Sprout.

For an odd reason, Harriet did not feel like staying. She was not about to be left alone there.

"Please, professor, let me go to classes."

"I don't think that would appropriate, miss Potter. For now, you will stay here, until further notice," Madam Pomfrey said.

"Professor, please don't do this to me. This is my first day at Hogwarts. I don't want to spend it here… Alone. Allow me to assist until my parents and the authorities arrive."

The girl with green eyes put her best puppy face she could muster. The best defense she could do now was not to actually defense herself. And what she meant by that was that, as long as she was in public. Surrounded by countless students and professors. No one would try to attack her outright. Dumbledore would keep his hand away from her, and anyone else who dared to hurt her would think twice before doing something. Harriet was paranoid about her safety. Even more, since she knew her current limitations.

Madam Pomfrey stared at Professor Sprout and sighed. "What do you say?" She asked.

The head of Hufflepuff felt troubled, but understood why would the young girl like to go on with the rest of the day. Hogwarts was the dream of any kind, so losing the first day in such a way. To be left alone in the Medical Wing was truly cruel.

"Alright, Miss Potter. I will allow you to assist the classes of today with the condition to take it slowly. But the moment your parents arrive you will go to the St Mungo's Hospital immediately. Understood?"

"Also, write to your parents about this. We will contact them, but I want you to tell about your condition."

"I understand, professor Sprout. I will write to them right away."

"Good, now please, go to the Great Hall and eat breakfast. Would she need something, Poppy?" Professor Sprout asked.

"So far, the only thing I can give her, are potions for the headache. Please, Miss Potter, take them if you are in pain. But otherwise, just take care."

Harriet smiled as she got her way for now. "I will, thank you Madam Pomfrey, professor Sprout."

Harriet with Dora, left the hospital wing, hoping it would be the only time she would be here. And, well, she was wrong. So wrong.

At the Headquarters of the DMLE on the second level of the Ministry of Magic. Lord James Potter stared at the picture before him with resentment and melancholy. Such were the feelings of someone coming from James, as the picture of Peter Pettigrew stared back at him.

Peter Pettigrew- Wanted: Dead or Alive.

Highly Dangerous -Wanted for the Murder of 12 Muggles- Attempt of Murder- Death Eater activities- Rape- Theft-Unregistered Animagi (Form of a Common Garden Rat)- Use of the Unforgivable Curse.

James threw the wanted poster away. Disgusted by his former friend's crimes. It took them a long while before they could unmask Peter's horrendous atrocities, and what they found about him was horrendous, to say the least. It goes all the way back to Hogwarts. Back to their fifth year, in fact. It seemed as if Peter used his Animagus form to not only help Remus but to spy in the girl's rooms and bathrooms. Especially the second one. One of the girls who testify told them that sometimes, the girls would find rats when they were changing clothes. At first, they thought nothing of it, just a rat in an old castle, that's all.

Besides being disgusted, no one paid attention to it.

But it was then, when they would find the same rat in the same spot repeatedly, that they thought something was going on. Even Lily told him about it. She was one of many who had many encounters with the rodent. Lily at the time didn't know it was Peter, but she remembered the details of the rat with great detail. However, with the war and everything going on, no one spoke about it until recently. James was furious. No, he was mad with rage. Now that he thought about it, Peter would always stare at Lily while she was breastfeeding. It was one of the reasons why Lily opted to do it in private. With that said, James took his time to think about all those instances in which Peter showed his true colors.

"I'm such a fool."

James muttered in sorrow.

"I should have known better. I should have done something... But, how could he get into the Girls bathroom and dormitories? It should be impossible..."

James kept on cursing himself and didn't notice two of his best friends entering his office.

"Hey, James, why so blue?" Sirius asked.

"James, are you alright?" Remus asked.

James sighed as he tried to pull himself together.

"I had a meeting just an hour ago, with one of… Peter's rape victim. She wanted to know if we are doing whatever it takes to capture him."

Sirius groaned as he sat down before James, feeling the headache coming. Truly, it was not as if he didn't understand the rage and pain of those poor women. He wanted to find and kill Peter, but the rat was impossible to track down, and they tried everything.

"It was not pleasant, right?" Sirius said.

"Not at all," James said.

"Some victims were young girls. What else should they feel? They're furious parents who want justice, just think, if Harriet or Susan was one of them," Remus said.

James and Sirius's faces didn't hide the pure killing instinct of their souls. Yet, there was nothing they could do, only to keep searching.

"I know, Remus. But, knowing the coward, that is Peter. He would never change his Animagi form. He would rather live as a rat for the rest of his life."

"I think that too," Sirius said.

"At least he is on the most wanted papers. Many Hit Wizards are on the search. But I can't say the same for some of the Death Eaters that are roaming free. Like that prick of Yaxley. I know for a fact, he raped two girls. Don't you remember, that even with evidence, they let him go free?!" Sirius said with a furious voice.

"They forced him to do it with the Imperius curse. Or so he says, bollocks," Remus muttered in anger.

"Just one of many roaming free out there… And there is nothing we could do about it. Not unless we get rid of that useless Fudge," James said.

"The Dark Faction would not allow it. They will fight with nails and teeth to keep him there," Remus said.

"I know… That's why we must do something about it."

"Well, we should start from somewhere-"

"Hello there."

The trio turned around to see who was there and saw a masked person with a long black coat walking at them slowly. People would normally run away from such a person. But not the trio, especially James, who smirked at the masked individual.

"Don't smirk at me, Lord Potter," the masked person said, with a distorted voice.

"That's not possible, my dear. The cloak, those long dark boots, and that tight leather outfit. How could I not smirk? when you look so bloody sexy?" James said as Sirius and Remus held their laughter back.

"Be aware of the Unspeakables, Prongs. They are a dangerous bunch from what I hear," Sirius said, smirking.

"Oh, I don't know, Padfoot. I think I can take this one on a date. What do you say? Just don't tell my wife, she would kill me," James said.

"Ha ha, you're so funny, James," Lily said, as she took her mask off, showing off her red hair and green eyes.

"Wow, you look just like my wife!"

"Oh, you shut up," Lily said, sitting on James' lap as she kissed his cheek.

"Such an annoying, person you are sometimes," Lily said.

"That's why you marry me!"

"Ugh, I'm regretting it."

Lily kissed him deeply, as both Sirius and Remus coughed at the show of affection of both of them.

"So, Lily, for the looks of it, you accepted to work as an Unspeakable, then?" Sirius asked.

"A temporary Unspeakable, well kind of," Lily said.

"How so?" Remus asked.

"You know how it is. The High Table, works in a way I don't like. Yet I can't deny they helped us a lot back in the war. Besides, the reason I accepted, on my terms may I add, was because of Harriet's scar. We need to remove it somehow, and they agreed to help us," Lily said.

"On your own terms?" Remus asked.

"Yes, I will not travel around the world in the search of lost arts or ancient scrolls."

"No looking for Avalon and Morgan Le Fay secrets?"

"No."

"What about Merlins staff and The Book of Dreams?"

"Ah, no."

"What about, the Ancient book of the Death?"

"Neither."

"Only focus on Harriet's scar and Voldemort secrets, that's pretty much it."

"Alright, tell us if you need something," James said.

"Don't worry, about it, I will. It's Harriet, we are a team, remember?" Lily whispered.

"I do."

Lily and James were sure to bring as much support to their daughter as they could, especially since they knew that in just a few years. The Wizengamot would force Harriet to marry and sire children, something they would work vigorously to avert. There was time for it, they needed more support and push new regulations. But that was just one of many other problems. There was Harriet's scar and Voldemort return. Something, Lily, James, Sirius, and Remus knew it would happen again. But when? That was the tricky part. He was somewhere, waiting, preparing to come back.

Lily joined the Unspeakables because of it. They needed as much help as they could get. Yet she would not allow them to use her daughter as a guinea pig for whatever experimentation they were thinking. Lily told that to her new boss, or well, she practically threatened him. Not a good idea knowing the High Table does not enjoy being threatened by anyone. Yet, they needed her. They sought Lily's charm's ability and high intelligence. Besides, after the war, they lost many of their members. So they accepted her reasonings and terms.

"What is your code name now?" James asked.

"Viridi, very original," Lily said with a scoff.

"Green? Well, they surely love their nicknames."

"Are you busy now?" Lily asked James.

"No much, just the usual, that's all. I had a nasty talk with a one of Peter's victims. They wanted to know if we were trying to find him. It's been years now."

Lily sighed, as she understood well enough how her husband must feel. To hunt down a former friend, a criminal.

"And you told her you were doing all you can, and that didn't end well," Lily said.

"Yes, that's what happened. She was with her parents. They yelled about how I was covering him and such… Not a pleasant time," James said as he let an exhausted sigh.

"I know it's hard for you, but think of them. Their baby girl was rape. Thing of how we would react if it was our daughter?" Lily said.

James hugged Lily close to him, not wanting to think of something like that. The thought of it terrifies him.

"I will hunt him down, I promise," James said.

"I know you will. You're captain James Potter, of the Auror corp," Lily said, kissing him softly.

"That I am," James said as he took his time to enjoy Lily lips.

Sirius groaned at the sight of both of them kissing with no restraint. "Please, stop both of you! I can't do the same with Amelia! She would kill me if I try to shag her in her office!" Sirius said.

"We are kissing, Padfoot, not doing that," James said. "Although now that you say it…"

"Don't even think about it, James Potter," Lily said.

Remus only smiled at them, Lily then remembered something she wanted to tell him. "Remus, I almost forgot. Dorca asked for you."

"Dorcas Meadowes? The big robust woman with a nice butt?" Sirus said, earning a glare from Lily.

"Yes, that's her. Anyways, do the both of you talk a lot?" Lily asked.

"Well, I mean… sometimes. Dorcas' nephew is a young Werewolf. So, she wanted to help him as much as she can, and since I'm the head of the Department of Welfare for Magical Species. She and I have been speaking a lot lately. Dorcas cares a lot for her family. And I'm doing whatever I can to help the young boy."

"Oh, I know that, my dear Remus. However, Dorcas seemed as she wanted something more, than just talk to you," Lily said smirking.

"Ah, what do you mean?" Remus asked.

"Well, well, it seems as if Lady Dorcas fancy our dear friend, eh?" James said.

"Nice, Remus, really nice!" Sirius said.

"I-I don't know what are you talking about," Remus said, flustered.

"Ah, sure, you don't know what are we talking about! Wait, are you blushing?" James asked as he laughed at the sight of his friend.

"W-we are just friends!" Remus said.

"Do friends kiss each other?" Sirius said as he was only teasing. But the look of Remus was not something either of the group expected.

"You saw?" Remus whispered, and everyone went mad.

"I was joking! Bloody saggy Merlin's balls!" Sirius laughed.

"Oh, dear Jesus Christ!" Lily said, almost falling from James' lap, as she too was laughing hard.

"So you do like her! Ha Ha, nicely done, Remus!" James said.

Remus could only groan at the sight of his dear friend's reactions. Honestly, he was still unsure of his relationship. Yet it felt right. But it seemed as he would have to answer a lot of questions soon.

"Well, my dear Remus, tell us everything!" Lily said.

"Alright, it all started when-"

Before anyone could even say something else. Entering from the hallways of the Second Floor of the Ministry, a white owl arrived with haste. Lily wasted no time approaching the snowy owl. "Hedwig? What are you doing here?" Lily asked in a worried tone of voice.

Hedwig pointed at the letter on her leg, and Lily just took it.

"It's Harriet? Didn't she tell us, she was only going to write to use Mondays and Fridays?" James asked.

Lily read the letter carefully, and at first, she smiled. "They sorted Harriet in Hufflepuff," Lily said with a proud smile. James, Sirius, and Remus let a sigh of relief, as they were all glad about her sorting.

"She is a Badger now, James," Sirius said.

"She will find honest and loyal friends there," Remus added.

"I know she will," James said.

However, the feelings of happiness suddenly disappear as the room felt cold and tense. James turned around and saw Lily holding the letter with such a vicious glare. Those green eyes were burning in rage, and a few glasses broke at the sheer power emanating from Lily. James jumped out of his eat and approached his enraged wife.

"Lily, what is it?!" James asked.

"Someone tried to mind rape our daughter… Someone tried to use Legilimency on her."

To say both of them were furious would be an understatement. The air felt heavy and without even waiting to say anything. James put on his cloak and walked through the door.

"We are going to Hogwarts."
