At Freedom HQ, the human man was talking to an armadillo on a computer "We have received a coded message from Captain Elias. It says weapon confirmed. Shin destroyed. Mission target on Obidon, please advise". The man looked in disbelief "Destroyed...? Proceed. Tell him my orders stand and tell him to proceed with haste". He turned to one of his men "We have no idea what he's building for the Empire. We have to kill Ellidy while we have the chance".
The ship was travelling through hyperspace, Elias was listening to his orders on a pair of headphones. Leeta was staring in front looking solemn "Lyco, tell me. All of it? The whole city?", Lyco looks out the window as she answers "All of it" she glares at Larry who glumly looks down at the floor. Elias finishes what he was doing and goes over to one of the cupboards. He takes out the same black bodysuits as the one he is wearing but each one had different coloured stripes. He throws one to everyone on the ship except Nicole and Shard. Leeta feels the one she is given "What is this for?" "We use them on undercover missions. They protect against different climates and you can wear them under normal clothes. Obidon doesn't have the best weather, they'll help you". Nicole looked at him "Obidon? Is that where my father is?" "I think so". Larry looked over to Nicole "You're Ellidy's daughter?" "You know him?". He nodded "I'm Larry, the pilot. Your father, he said I could get right by myself. He said I could make it right if I was brave enough to do something about it". He looked down at the ground and his face turned very sad "I guess it was too late". Nicole smiled and shook her head "It wasn't too late" "Seems late to me" Lyco said glumly. Nicole looked over to her "No, we can beat the people who did this. My father's message, I've seen it. They call the weapon the Death Egg. But they have no idea there's a way to defeat it".
She stood up and glared at Elias "You were wrong about my father" "He did build it. There's blood on is hands". Nicole got right in front of him "My father made a choice. He sacrificed himself for the Freedom Fighters. He's rigged a trap inside it. That's why he sent Larry, to bring that message". Elias didn't look convinced "Where is it? Where's the message?". Nicole sighed and shook her head "Everything happened so fast", Elias looked at Larry "Did you see it?" he shook his head. Nicole began to look angry "You don't believe me" "I'm not the one you have to convince". Leeta turned in their direction "I believe her", Elias looked to her "That's good to know". "What is the trap?" Lyco asked "The reactor. He's placed a weakness there. He's been hiding it for years. If you can destroy the reactor the whole system goes down. We need the Fighters to go to Emerald Coast to get the plans". Elias looked to her "We're in the heart of Imperial territory, I can't send that" "Then we'll find him and bring him back and he can tell them himself". Elias nods but doesn't look her in the eyes.
At the Death Egg, Hamlin's ship exits a hanger and jumps into hyperspace. Onboard Hamlin is sitting next to a squad of black armoured stormtroopers. His head is down deep in thought. "Course set for Obidon, sir" the pilot said.
Back with the others, everyone except for Nicole and Shard are wearing the black suits. Larry's has gold-coloured stripes, Leeta's has green and Lyco's has blue. The ship jumps out of hyperspace and enters the atmosphere of Obidon. The planet is completely covered in thick clouds, and there were constant lightning strikes. They had to get lower to avoid them but there were mountains of rock which they had trouble avoiding. Larry ran behind the pilot seats "You have to go lower", Shard stared at him "Do you not see the mountains?" "They have landing trackers and patrol squadrons. You have to stay in the canyons". Elias does so but can barely make out what's in front of him because of the clouds and rain "How much further!?" he asks Larry who shrugs "We're close, it think. I don't exactly come this way often". They go round a rock formation and see lights in the distance "That's it!" the right side of the ship then hit another rock damaging the engine. "Hold on tight! We're going down!" the ship falls out of the sky and crashes onto the surface between two of the mountains.
Shard being the only one not disorientated ran outside to check the damage, most of the front is destroyed along with the right engine. He goes back into the ship where everyone is getting back on there feet. "We'll need a new ship" Elias takes of his jacket and goes into one of the cupboards "Larry, where's the research facility?" "It's just over the ridge". Elias thinks for a second "Is there a shuttle depot" "Yeah, there always at least one there". Elias pulls out a blaster which he alters to a different shape "Alright, here's what were gonna do. Hopefully, this storm keeps up and keeps us hidden down here. Larry, you're with me. We'll go up the ridge and check it out". "I'm going with you" Nicole said but Elias shakes his head "No, we can't risk it. You're the messenger". Nicole looks at him clearly confused "That's ridiculous, we all got the message. Everyone here knows it" "I said no!" Elias snapped. He looks at Shard "Try to fix the comms. All I want to do right now is get a handle on what we're up against. So, I'm gonna go up the ridge and see what's what. Let's go". Him and Larry exit the ship and start climbing up the mountain. Leeta stared pensively into space "Does he look like a killer?" she asks Lyco, "No, he has the face of a friend". Nicole turned to them "What're you talking about?", Leeta turned her head in Nicole's direction "The Force moves darkly near a creature that's about to kill". Shard suddenly stopped what he was doing "His weapon was in the sniper configuration", Nicole's eyes widen.
Elias and Larry hike up to a ridge above the facility. Back at the ship Nicole leaves while Leeta sits back apprehensively. Nicole gets sight of the base and sees a maintenance ladder at the bottom of the mountain. Leeta exits the ship with Lyco watching her "Where're you going!?" "I'm gonna follow Nicole". Lyco looks at her as if she's mad "Alone? Good luck", Leeta smirks "I don't need luck. I have you". Lyco hesitates before sighing, she takes her blaster and follows her sister. Shard still on the ship turns around and realises he's alone "What're they doing? If Elias gets back, I'm not waiting for them". Elias on the ridge looks through his binoculars at the base and sees a team of engineers exiting the facility and walking onto the landing platform. He then hands the binoculars to Larry "Do you see Ellidy out there?". Larry looks and eventually sees the very man who sent him on his mission. Ellidy's fur was now much greyer than before and he was now wearing a black coat "That's him. In the dark suit" he passes the binoculars back to Elias who spots Ellidy. They then see Hamlin's shuttle land on the platform. Elias turns to Larry "Get back down and find us a ride" "What're you doing?". Elias takes out his blaster "You heard me" "You said we came up here just to look". Elias looked through the scope "I am looking. Now go!", Larry reluctantly did so.
Hamlin walked out of the shuttle with his death troopers and Ellidy went up to greet him. Hamlin smiled "Excellent news, Ellidy. The battle station is complete. You must be very proud", Ellidy glared at him "Proud as I can't be Hamlin". "Gather your engineers. I have an announcement" Hamlin said calmly. Meanwhile Larry makes his way back to the ship and helps Shard. Nicole is climbing the ladder to the top of the base. On the platform the engineers timidly walk forward as Ellidy moves next to Hamlin. Elias has Elliday in his cross hairs as Hamlin speaks to the engineers. "Gentlemen, one of you has betrayed the Empire. One of you has conspired with a pilot to send message to the Freedom Fighters. I urge this traitor to step forward". Elias prepares to shoot Ellidy, but he notices the death troopers walk forward. Hamlin sighs "Very well. I'll consider it a group effort then. Ready!" the death troopers raise their blaster at the engineers who back away in terror. "Aim! And-!", Ellidy runs forward in front of the engineers "Stop! Stop Hamlin! Stop! It was me! It was me!" he said trying to hide his fear. Elias watches, seeing Ellidy defend the engineers makes him think of Nicole. His shoulders relax and he slowly lowers his blaster.
