AN: I always thought that this fanfiction was just going to be a oneshot, but I soon noticed that I wanted to capture more about Castle and Beckett's getaway and feelings. Between the last chapter and this one some days have passed. It had now been a little over a week since Castle and Beckett got together at The Hamptons.

"I know who the killer is!" They both said in unison.

"Do you guys practice this when we're not around?" Esposito asked. Both Beckett and Castle blushed a little. The guys did not know about the two of them yet, but her gut feeling told her that it wouldn't take long before they did.

After a few more days of investigation, interviewing the next of kin, and figuring out that the victim was murdered, the whole team came to notice that the brother-in-law was having an affair with Andy's wife.

Castle and Beckett drove off to the apartment of the victim, picking up a photo from the nightstand that had never been seen as evidence for the case. The photo had Andy on it - the victim -, his wife, his daughter, and his brother-in-law. They seemed to be a close-knit family, but some of them were a little too close.

It turned out that in the end, Andy found out about the affair and got angry at his brother-in-law, Max Halberger. Max had motive and means to stage the murder as a suicide. The guys had just picked up Max at a local gas station and one of the cops brought him to investigation. Beckett and Castle were grabbing his file, on their way to interrogate him.

"We got the guy. He's ready in interrogation 1." Espo said. "Yeah and he hasn't said a thing on the way back here." Ryan added.

"Okay, thanks guys." Beckett picked up the file and walked passed her colleagues, Castle followed her closely.

"Whoaaa is that a hickey?" Esposito asked, pointing to Castle's neck.

'Shit' Kate thought. They both hadn't noticed that she had left him a hickey on his neck last night.

"Ughh yeah it is!" He glanced at Beckett and in that moment he knew that they might get caught.

"So how'd you get it huh?" Esposito shot back, fist bumping him. Castle responded rather slow, not knowing what to do. "I met this model.. she's uhhm she's Russian, really gorgeous."

"A Russian model, alright! What's her name?" Ryan asked. He noticed Kate shooting him a look.

"Her name's Svetlana." Kate almost couldn't contain her laughter. "Svetlana, huh? And where did you meet her?" Of course she played along, her boyfriend wrote stories for a living. She hated to lie to her friends, but the time wasn't right.

"Oh a couple nights ago at this bar. She's really hot you know." Castle had a smug look on his face, and looked back at Kate for one second. She looked at him all shy.

"Nice dude." "Yeah well done." The guys responded.

"Alright, enough guy-talk. Let's go interview our suspect." Kate said, grabbing him by the arm and dragging her partner along the corridor. When they were out of sight she poked him in the arm and slightly annoyed she said, "Svetlana? Really? And you couldn't come up with anything else? You write books for a living, Castle." Kate rolled her eyes.

"Alright I was nervous, okay? I knew that you didn't want them to know yet, so I lied." He confessed to her, throwing his hands in the air out.

"Okay then, that's kinda sweet." She smiled. "I really didn't notice the hickey before, I'm so sorry." She said sarcastically with an emphasis on the 'so'. She wasn't sorry at all for kissing him last night and having him stay the night at her place. They didn't take their relationship to the next level yet, but it felt comforting to have the other one there.

Beckett opened the door to interrogation 1 and as she and Castle took a seat she said, "You have been informed of your rights, Mr. Halberger."

"I have, but they are not relevant. I don't even know why I am here." He stated, looking rather nervous and agitated.

Beckett didn't give him an answer. She just looked at his file like she had done an hour ago, this time it was only to annoy him even more.

"DUI at the age 23, theft at the age of 26.."

"That was all in the past."

"Sure." Castle said, not believing the guy for a second.

"So did you do it with premeditation? I'm not sure yet." Beckett stated.

"Do what with premeditation?" Mr. Halberger asked.

"Ever been accused of murder?" Castle asked.

"Murder?"

After interviewing the suspect and finally getting him to confess, it was time to head back home.

Castle left the precinct first, followed by Beckett, about 10 minutes later. They would meet up at Remy's, a couple blocks away from the precinct to get takeout. Castle was already in line to order their usual, two chocolate shakes, two large fries and two burgers with extra cheese. He'd sneak in the occasional dessert in as well, a glazed donut. They'd usually split it.

Kate walked into Remy's a couple minutes later, Castle was still waiting for their order to be ready. He was leaning against the wall, checking his phone when he felt a familiar face walk up to him.

"Hey!" She walked up to him, waiting in line.

"Hey, our order's almost ready."

From where they were standing they did not notice that their colleagues had just entered Remy's as well. They were going to watch a ball game together and enjoy their usual takeout.

Esposito and Ryan hadn't noticed the pair either until their order was ready. "Order #246 Castle", they heard someone yell. Both recognizing his name, they saw how Kate grabbed the bag of food and put her hand into Castle's, holding it tightly. "Sir, we forgot your second shake, here you go." Castle grabbed the bag from the waiter and wrapped his arm around Kate's waist, giving her a peck on the lips. She smiled at him and they walked towards the exit.

"Svetlana huh?" Espo yelled at them.

The couple turned around with a terrified look on their faces. Ryan and Esposito stood about 15 ft from them and were laughing at them. 'Shit.' The couple simultaneously thought as they released their grip of each other and jumped apart.

Kate tried to save the whole situation. "Hey guys, didn't know you were getting takeout too!" She made it sound casual, she thought.

"Oh yes and we saw everything." Ryan told them with the biggest grin on his face.

"So I suppose that this is Svetlana, that hot date of yours who left you that hickey?" Esposito asked them, with an all-knowing look.

Both Kate and Rick's faces turned bright red as they were just caught red-handed by their colleagues.

"Hey, it's fine Kate. We're happy for the two of you." Ryan said, smiling at Beckett.

"Really?" Kate asked and paused for a moment. "Thanks." She was still processing everything.

"Yes, but if you don't want the whole precinct to know by tomorrow morning.." Espo turned to face Castle. "You'd wanna loan us the Ferrari." He had a smug grin on his face.

"Hey! That's not fair!" He meant what he said.

"Oh just give them the damn Ferrari already!" Kate said slapping Castle's arm jokingly.

"Fine, fine! One week, and you have to split it!" He said. "I'll bring the keys tomorrow."

"Alright, sounds great guys!" Ryan said, definitely feeling happy for the couple.

"Okay, see you two tomorrow." Kate said, pulling Castle along, wanting to avoid the moment getting even more awkward.

"Bye!" Ryan and Espo said in unison.

They were at the loft, eating their burgers on the couch.

"I can't believe we were stupid enough to get caught." Kate said, slightly annoyed.

"Oh come on, their reaction was totally fine. Having to loan them my Ferrari for only one week? They were still pretty gentle. I'd thought that they would tell me to never hurt you." Castle mentioned.

"Oh trust me, they will." Kate laughed. "They're like protective brothers. Especially Espo." Kate smiled at the thought. Those guys always had her back. It was the other way around as well.

"I get it you know." Castle said, downing the last of his milkshake.

"What do you mean?" She asked and scooted a little closer to him.

"I like how they're trying to protect you, it's actually really sweet."

"Yeah, it really is."

AN: Okay so firstly, I wanted Kate to have to hickey, but thought that it just would be so funny if Castle had one and could brag about it to the guys.

Secondly, I tried to keep the case talk rather brief because I knew that this wasn't going to be the longest fanfic so I decided to focus on the relationship.

Lastly, chapter 7 will be the last one of this fanfiction. I wanted to keep it short and simple. I will definitely be writing more oneshots (and maybe fanfics) in the future!
