Chapter six
"Raven are you ok?"
Raven was frustrated. She couldn't use her Right leg and Clarke had tried her best but she was stuck with this man made cane for now. She felt useless. Sasha or Lincoln carried her for weeks until she said enough was enough. Watching her buddies train and be able to do stuff that she was doing before this arrow went through her leg killed her spirit. She tried to seem strong and like
Nothing bothered her but her friends knew it was all an act.
"I hate this thing." Raven confessed looking down at her cane." I know you'll walk again Raven I have faith in that." Clarke rubbed the brunette's arms up and down. "I heard you are getting your hospital here in polis. You got that commander whipped." Raven said trying to cheer the mood up.
Clarke rolled her eyes." They need something other than that tent. I had to hear 'it's been like this for centuries and centuries' and 'My people' like I get it she's the commander and these people live by a strict code but gosh change is good sometimes."
Raven laughed." You should ask her to make a movie theater and an amusement park too." Clarke shook her head." I don't see that happening." Both laughed. "I think their on a brink of a war though." Raven shrugged." When are they not around here. So what's your hottie going to do about it?"
Clarke couldn't really discuss it because she didn't know. Lexa had been really tense lately when she came back from meetings. Clarke had done everything in her power to make the brunette comfortable and relax. "A lot of whispering I have heard from outside our rooms. Lexa hasn't said anything really. Just that she would have to leave soon. She is going to wait to tell our engagement until after she comes back.it's all happening too soon I would say."
Raven listened "You worried for her?" Clarke nodded." I know this isn't new to her but it's new to me." Raven frowned at her friend seeing how distraught she was." How is the sexing going?"
Clarke stuck out her tongue as raven laughed." How's it going with you and your grounder?"
Raven raised her eyebrows. "Amazing. Grounder sex is the best. Girl got me hooked on it."
Clarke laughed." She was happy seeing her friend happy." I am glad you have Sasha." Raven smiled." I really like her and I am glad you have the Commender ' not so easy to get in pants' she's teaching you patience and all that goes with it haha. But seriously your last relationship was the opposite. You deserve to be happy Clarke."
Clarke frowned she had a bad relationship for a long time with a boy who treated her not as an equal. She knew the brunette had a couple of hard ones herself but Sasha seemed to be a good fit for her.
"We both have gotten lucky here. Actually us three. Octavia is all about marriage."
Both shook their heads." Our lives back home we're so different and it was safer there and not the chance of dying every two minutes but I think this jungle life is growing on me."
Clarke agreed." Now having Lexa and with you two here with me I don't know if I could go back."
Raven smiled." Let's go. Tell me something I didn't know about Lexa."
Clarke thought a minute before smiling." She is obsessed with candles. Like she has to have like 100 candles burning all Around her. Clans from far away bring candles for Heda daily."
"Lexa?" Clarke called out as she walked into their bed chambers. No candles were lit no windows open. No sign of the commender at all. Clarke took off her boots than her jacket and went to take off her shirt when something on the balcony caught her eye. She didn't spend too much time out there as looking down how high they were actually up made her instantly dizzy.
"Lexa?" Clarke called out but no answer. She could see a silhouette of a person but she couldn't make out what they looked like. Running to the side of her bed she lit one of the candles and grabbed her knife from her jacket pocket. Who was this person?
Stepping closer to the curtain she knew she should run and yell for a guard to help her but she was sure she could handle what this was.
To her surprise a woman sat on the balcony with a dagger in her hand.
"Hello?" Clarke hesitated but needed to know what this woman wanted.
"You?" The woman stood up now with the dagger in front of her.
"You took the Heda from me." Clarke's eyes widened she never seen this woman in her life nor knew Heda was in a relationship with anyone else.
Actually there was a lot she didn't know about the woman.
"Excuse me?" Clarke asked confused.
"It's always been me I have loved her from day one. Before Costia I knew her.
Now you're in the picture I can't go through this again. I have to kill you Clarke."
Clarke stepped back she dropped the candle making the light go out. "We can discuss this. I'll go get Lexa and we can just figure this out."
The woman stepped closer." No! You see with you alive I'll never have a chance. I need to kill you."
Clarke swallowed hard." Where was those guards? Her friends? Lexa? Anyone at the moment that could help. She didn't want to kill this woman.
"No one needs to die. I am Clarke. What is your name?"
The woman stalked closer making sure Clarke couldn't get by her. Clarke backed up she was at the wall now. 'Don't look down Clarke! Don't look down' her mind screamed."Lexa will not be your lover after you kill her Houman." Clarke had heard someone ask Lexa if Clarke was her houman and Lexa had said sha. She didn't know what that meant but she bet this woman did.
The woman's eyes widened. "There hasn't been a bonded yet you lie princess." Clarke thought of everything she known in grounder but she couldn't come up with a sentence that would help her out. The woman stalked
Closer. "Please you don't have to do this. Just leave and I won't tell anyone you were ever in here." Clarke tried again. The woman angrily charged at Clarke sending Clarke running to the other side of the balcony. "You will die tonight before getting to even say a word to anyone about our encounter. I'll throw you from the balcony."
Clarke swallowed. She knew that was were this was going. But she wasn't ready to die. "Let's go then." Clarke raised her knife swatting it at the woman like in training she only was able to make contact about twice. The woman had sliced her arm and side she could feel. Clarke screamed as the blade exited her body.
"Give up silly woman you don't think there's others like me out there." The woman sneered. Clarke shook her head.
"Lexa?" Raven limped towards the commander." Is Clarke ok?" Lexa's eyes widened." What do you mean?"
"I just heard her scream from my room and was on my way to check on her. Not use to this cane." She confessed.
Lexa shouted something in grounder and her men started charging towards the commanders chambers. Lexa helped Raven to the door before she flung the door open to see her beloved on the floor of the patio with a woman on top of her.
Clarke hearing Lexa's voice turned to search for green eyes. There were blood everywhere. Lexa went to take her sword out but Clarke threw the woman off of her reviling the woman was dead.
"She attacked me I didn't have no choice." Clarke cried. "She wanted you."
Lexa brought her arms around her lover observing her injuries. She had a mad gash in her arm and she could see her shirt was soaked in blood.
Turning to her men she demanded them to take the woman away and leave all three of them alone. She demanded one to bring Nyko the healer to her room. "Are you ok Clarke?"
Raven standing beside her friend she tried to get down to the blonde's level." You want me to blow this building up because I will. We can leave." Raven whispered making Clarke laugh and Lexa offended. " Calm down she's kidding Lexa." Lexa didn't find the brunettes words jokingly but she let it go. "Let me help you up Clarke we have to see the damage." Clarke Abide letting Lexa help her stand up. Raven lifted the blonde's shirt seeing how deep the womb was." We need to get this stitched." Clarke said knowing how deep it was. Raven was in tears. Lexa was super proud her lover killed the attacker but she wished she could have cut off the woman's head off herself.
Both Raven and Lexa held Clarke's hands as Nyko worked on the blonde's arm and side. "Lex!" Clarke cried out." I am here Clarke what do you need?" Before could say anything the herbs Nyko had given her for pain had knocked her out.
"Lincoln I want you to go into town and anyone who questions klarke I want you to bring them to me. I will not stand for an attack on my lover." Lincoln nodded he understood the mission and why Heda was asking him to do this.
"Lex!"
Lexa crossed the room in no time she had been waiting for the blonde to wake up. Octavia had came once she heard and had stayed with raven most the evening until the Heda requested privacy.
"Klarke!"
The blonde looked around confused for a minute until she realized what had happened. She looked down at her wrapped arm and the her bandage side.
"Calm down! You're ok. You'll be ok Klarke. I am sorry this happened to you." Lexa was beating herself
For her guards not there to protect the blonde." I was so frightened when I seen you on the grounds for her on top of you." Lexa confessed struggling with words.
"I thought she was going to kill me Lexa the only thing that kept me alive is you. I wanted to see you again." Lexa kissed Clarke over and over on the top of her head.
"No one will ever get that close to you ever again. I apologize klarke. If something were to happen I wouldn't know what to do. I love you deeply."
"I love you too Lexa."
