This chapter almost didn't happen, I had about three hours to get this done. Enjoy.

Explaining to Gus and Willow how Bending and being the Avatar was actually easier than she thought. Basically, the second they saw Luz give a small demonstration of her Bending, they understood that everything people think about Humans is wrong. But that was a couple days ago, right now, she was getting a demon lesson from King. Normally she would be happy to do that, but there were several things on her mind. One, how was she going to get Eda to sign the papers the Bump gave her. Two, how to learn magic. Finally, three, how to further her bending.

"Luz, are you paying attention?" King asked.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, totally." Luz said, "So... what were you saying?"

King sighed and pointed at the board.

"I was talking about this!" He said, smacking his pointer at a picture, "The Snaggleback! The most feared Demon in the Isles!"

"The most dangerous?" Luz said, tilting her head.

"Well, there is one Demon that's more dangerous, but they've been extinct for nearly a thousand years." King said, getting very dark and cryptic, "So there's no point in talking about it! Now, let's talk about the fluffiest demon on the Boiling Isles... Me!"

King laid on his back and Luz rubbed his stomach. He sat up when thunder started to ring through the air.

"Huh, looks like it's going to rain."

Luz got excited, not only because she loves feeling rain on her skin, but because this could be a good way to practice her Waterbending.

"Luz, wait!"

It was too late. Luz was already outside.

"Ah, I love the rain." She saw a flower, "I bet you do too."

The flower was hit by a rain drop and burnt.

"What?!"

It started to rain more and Luz got hit with several drops before she used her Waterbending to make the rain fall around her, instead of on her. Soon Eda started to run to the door.

"Boiling Rain! Everyone get inside, now!"

Eda didn't seem to notice Luz Bending the rain and grabbed her arm. She pulled Luz inside and she landed awkwardly.

"There, lucky you didn't get hurt."

Luz, still laying with her limbs in several directions, responds.

"Yep, not hurt."

Next thing Luz knew, she saw darkness. She saw images flash in her mind. Images like fire and magic crossing, a large heart, her falling off a bridge, an egg, a book, and a hand holding the earth. The last image was of a gold colored mask. Luz shot up and started breathing heavily.

"Oh, good, you're awake!" King said.

Luz held her head and groaned.

"What happened?" She asked.

"This thing landed on your head and knocked you out." King said, pointing at an old, heavy book, "Eda put up a protection spell on the house and is passed out in her room."

Luz walked over and picked up the book. It was covered in a thick layer of dust, probably hasn't been touched in almost a decade.

"When she tossed me in here, I must have bumped the wall or something and knocked it off the shelf."

"Eh, who cares, let's finish the lesson!" King said.

"I feel like I should give it back before she-"

Luz was cut off when there was the sound of glass shattering. Luz ran up to Eda's room and saw her window was broken and a golden liquid on the ground, surrounded by glass from a broken bottle. She ran to the nest and saw Eda missing. The lights went out and she heard screaming.

"Luz!" King yelled.

Luz ran back downstairs and saw King cower as a shadowy creature standing over Hooty's knock over... Body? Door? Whatever he is. It carved its claws into Hooty and then bolted. Luz and King ran over and Luz opened one of Hooty's eyes.

"Hooty? Hooty, speak to me." Luz said.

"Or don't, it's finally quiet." King said.

There was a screech and they ran outside, making sure to stay in the barrier, and looked around for the creature.

"It must've gone into the rain, how could it survive that?" Luz asked, "What was it?"

"It must've been a Snaggleback! They feed during the rain, it must've seen us in the house and... why do you still have that book!?"

"King, focus!"

"Right, anyway, the Snaggleback feeds during the rain, they become immune to it after they reach the age of five. It must've seen us in the house and thinks we're easy prey!"

Luz put the book in her bag and put her hands out.

"Well, it will be in for a surprise when it sees me." Luz said.

She used her Waterbending to pick up water on the ground and used the Water Whip to smash a flower pot. She looked at King.

"That thing must've gotten Eda, I won't let it hurt anyone else. Let's go demon hunting."

She walked inside and King followed her.

So, I'm done with my Finals... yay. I got my ass kicked by them, but they're finally done. So, I'm going to take a break until Monday, hopefully I'll be able to regain enough energy to get multiple chapters out. Follow, Favorite, and Review for more.
