Although premature at birth due to the kazekage's reckless experiment on his own family, Gaara developed quite fast managing to keep up to the height of normal five year old children. Although he stuck to the original Gaara's dress code, unlike the original who liked the red outfit, Jinn leaned more towards black and grey.
No big ass gourd on his back but three small ones on his back attached to his belt. One is brown and contained normal sand, the middle gourd is purple and contained sand mixed with poison, lastly the black gourd contained iron sand.
Gaara did not fail to live up to Rasa's expectations a year passed and not only did he show prodigious talent in learning ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu, he also began to show promise in their family kekei genkai: magnet release. Not to mention that he improved many of the existing techniques by incorporating poison with his sand.
"I understand fuinjutsu and poison making but why puppetry? This skill is inferior to our kekei genkai."
"I have mastered our jutsu repository up to the jonin level so there's nothing much for me to improve on at the moment, but now I'm working on a new jutsu that works well with the puppet style thus this request."
Rasa nodded.
"I will personally ask lady Chiyo to help instruct you. I expect to be informed of its development and as a matter of course this new technique will be shared with the village. Do we have a deal?"
Gaara shared the techniques he improved and developed for resources and information in the past year thereby increasing the holistic strength of the village. He didn't mind it at all as he purposely showed value to receive special treatment, resources, and other benefits from it.
Not many in the village knew of it, but those few who did held weight and sway in the village thus securing his position and importance.
His maternal uncle Yashamaru and many others did not have to be tasked with assassination due to his ability to control the biju sealed inside of him.
This is a small change in the original plot but Gaara didn't really care much. His presence in this universe made these changes inevitable like Thanos.
He also began to gradually get close to his siblings. When they grew more mature found out that Gaara is now capable of controling his sand they are relieved and started to open up to him. Although the non occurrence of the original's outbursts due to Shukaku's threats and the pressure from the village helped out a lot.
"The Kazekage already briefed me concerning your request. I am happy that the new generation not to mention someone as talented as you shows interest in this art of fighting. I however must warn you that there are weaknesses to the technique that not many people have managed to overcome. Do you still wish to learn child?"
The elder Chiyo may not show her emotions but she is very happy to share her knowledge to the youth of the village. She has been through a lot of wars and experienced pain still managing to live through. Like any normal old people with vast wisdom, she wished to share.
"It would be an honor for me or anyone to learn from one as wise, knowledgeable, and experienced as you Lady Chiyo."
It came from the heart as he truly respected this elder both in principle and as a person of values.
'Look at this child, only five years old and is already beyond his years in terms of not only maturity, but also wisdom.'
As one of the powers who's in the know of many things concerning sunagakure, Lady Chiyo knew of the many accomplishments of this young shinobi. Thus she decided to give it her all and teach this young prodigy.

Lady Chiyo briefly went about a short introduction to the puppet style.
"Before teaching you my white secret technique, you must first study chakra thread molding, puppet design, and basic puppet fighting strategy. The first involves your ability to control a certain number of puppet, the second will be creating a design most suitable for your fighting style and the last one will give you insight on how to actually apply your concept on the battlefield."
Chiyo gave a number of scrolls for Gaara to study concerning the curriculum she just mentioned and left after giving him a regular training schedule. To Gaara however learning new things is just a matter of time, nothing an army of shadow clones can not solve.
