Chapter 6
Your Safe?

~Kix POV~

I made my way over to the commander first, who had a deep laceration on her arm that I noticed right away, but we needed to get her out of here. She may have more wounds that I couldn't see, and this place is falling apart around us. We were lucky we ever found them alive. I started moving the rubble so I could pick her up gently, when pieces above us started moving, becoming very unstable. I had to get her out fast so I had to pick her up quicker than I would have liked, she cried out quietly when I moved her.

I got myself and the commander out of the tumbling building with the help of Fives and Hawk. As the two of them set her down and I got out, the entrance collapsed behind me. I went over to the commander and could now see the extent of her wounds. Which thankfully weren't as bad as I initially thought they were going to be, but they were still bad. Besides the laceration along her arm, she had some cracked ribs, bruises on her montral and lekku, and had smaller abrasions, lacerations and bruises all over her body, I went right to work cleaning and bandaging her.

~Ahsoka POV~

After a sharp pain shot throughout my body, I felt warmth on my face from the sun? I wanted to cover my eyes, even though they were shut it was still too bright. Yet I also wanted to know what was going on, I felt warm armor covered hands holding me then I felt the ground beneath me so I tried opening my eyes, but I couldn't. My whole body hurt, my head and arm more than anything else, but my body felt like it was on fire I wanted to scream. I could feel the presents of people on either side of me. I didn't know who was there, wanting to get away. I tried but once I heard their voices I was no longer worried.

I need to fight past this overwhelming sense to sleep. I needed to know where Echo was and if he was safe. The thought of anything happening to him gave me the strength I need to try opening my eyes, at first nothing happened. I tried again this time managing to half open my eyes squinting at my surroundings. Kix was to my right, I could see him looking for something in his bag, not noticing that I was looking towards him. Someone was on my left, I turned my eyes slowly to see who was there, I was happy to find Rex beside me.

I wanted to know where Echo was, and to make sure that he was alright, I tried to move my arm but a fiery pain shot through it preventing me, so I tried speaking instead.

"Rrex." My voice was so low if I didn't know I was the one talking, I wouldn't have known anyone was saying anything. I tried again but this time I would yell, "Rex." I was louder this time but barely, luckily Rex still looked in my direction.

"Hey kid, you had us worried." He smiled, but I could tell he was still worried.

"Ec… cho?" I tried saying yet my throat felt so dry.

"Don't worry Echo is here he's alright."

I smiled, glad to know that Echo was safe. Just then all my will to stay awake had vanished, as I felt an overwhelming sense to sleep, like I was being dragged into the dark.

~Rex POV~

She gave a small smile then closed her eyes, I looked towards Kix. "How is she?"

He looked at me, "She doesn't have any life threatening wounds, right now. I don't have enough supplies for us to stay here for too much longer. If she gets worse or someone else gets seriously wounded, lets just say so the sooner we get off the planet the better."

"I agree, Hawk get that ship ready to fly."

"Sorry captain but this ship isn't built to leave the atmosphere for long, just long enough to load another ship so we would need a ship to meet us."

You could tell that Rex didn't like that answer and wanted to get off this planet so the commander and his brothers could get the help they needed. "Alright Hawk. Echo did you get a message to the command ship telling them what happened?"

"I don't know sir, I wasn't getting a response, it was just static, maybe the interference affects the base too." Echo replied, sounding defeated.

"That's alright Echo. Hawk, you think that ship can get high enough to see if they got Echo's message, or to at least send a message?"

"I think so sir," He replied.

"Do it," and with that Hawk went to the ship.

~No One~

As they were getting ready to load up everyone on the ship, so they didn't have to try carrying the wounded over bumpy ground. Five and Echo started talking to each other. Echo had a puzzled look on his face, Five curiosity wanted to know what was up.

"Echo? Is everything alright?"

"Not really, it just doesn't make sense for the base to not be able to get past the interference, they would need to be able to talk to the rest of them."

"You make a good point so what are we missing?"

Just then without thinking Kix put his input in, "Maybe that wasn't the base, after all if it was so important why blow it up."

The other two looked at each other wondering if Kix was right.

~Hawk POV~

Rex and Kix carried Ahsoka onto the transport as Fives helped Echo, once they were all on the transport we took off. I flew them to a clearing with a nearby cave, after dropping off I flew the ship above the first layer of the fog just making it above the atmospheric disturbance.

Quickly seeing if the message was sent and also sending a message telling them that they had crashed and we were stuck on the ground. That they had wounded including Commander Tano that needed medical assistance, but not to enter the planet's atmosphere. We would fly up once a day in an enemy ship to see if help had arrived, before I went back down to the ground.
