Hey everyone! I have a nasty cold right now, so it took me a little longer to get this chapter out. Sorry!! But, in regards to Mark and Lexie- they aren't gonna get back together right away, but good things comes to those who wait. This chapter is definitely gonna help speed up things, though. Anyways, please enjoy Chapter six of Unbroken Hearts! As usual, please leave a review!

Feeling like her world was spinning off its axis, all Lexie wanted to do was be alone. Seeing as Zola was smashing her face into the cake and capturing everyone else's attention, Lexie ran upstairs to the privacy of her own room.

As her mind really began to ramble about him and all their missed opportunities, someone started knocking at the door. It was definitely a male-sounding knock, and a part of Lexie desperately hoped it was him.

When she opened it, she most certainly was not expecting to see Alex Karev on the other side.

"Yang and I are going drinking, this place is too cheesy for us. You in?"

Lexie could definitely go for tequila right now, and she knew it would be fun to go out with them again.

"Yeah, just give me a second."

"So, you know about the mascara under your eyes then?"

"Wiping it off. I'll be ready to go in 2 minutes." Lexie said, and with that Alex shut the door.

Going out and getting drunk was one the best ideas she's had all day. Wiping away the mascara that had fallen under her eyes, applying a fresh coat of lip gloss, Lexie deemed herself ready.

Waving goodbye to Zola, Lexie rushed outside, where Cristina and Alex were waiting in his car.

"You guys really wanted to get out of there." "Meredith's all soft now. It's nauseating." Cristina says, getting a fist bump from Alex on this.

"Wait, Lexie, I gotta know. You left cus of Sloan, right?" Alex asks, as he pulls out of the driveway.

"He's the major reason. I mean, I was going to go to Mass. Gen in the first place, but then my mom died, and then Meredith happened, and I wanted to know her, so I stayed. Then, Mark came along. So, my plan got disrupted, and I saw the opportunity. Plus, I get paid way more."

"Are you gonna move back to Seattle?" Cristina butted in. "I mean, me and Alex heard you say you're still in love with him."

"Wait, what? You heard??"

"I mean, everyone within a good 10 feet of the porch did. I think his girlfriend, or whatever she is now, heard you too."

"Are you kidding? Like, please, tell me you're kidding."

"Dead serious. It was all awkward at first, but then as he was heading in, you dropped the whole bomb."

"Oh, this is so bad."

"I mean, I heard him propose to you. And we're friends now, so, maybe it won't be so bad."

"Wait, you heard him?"

"Yeah. I decided to be an ass and walk up after he left." Alex said, as both Cristina and Lexie looked at him with wide eyes.

"Lexie, I had no idea just how much drama you and Mark had. I mean, you two were the healthiest couple, by far. Owen and I would be arguing, and then you two would be walking into your apartment, holding hands and laughing. And then we would hear the sex sounds, because, wow, those apartment walls are thin."

"Your first relationship lasted longer than my marriage." Alex retorts from the front seat, getting a laugh out of everyone.

"Whatever. He doesn't love me, but tequila does. I wanna drink." Lexie says, as Alex pulls into some random bar.

"Joe's?" Cristina asks, confused about their location.

"Sloan's probably there. Didn't want to put Lexie through that."

"You're a good friend." Lexie says, getting out of the car.
