Crystal, why do you have a lampshade on your head?
"Why not? It's obviously a really cool party hat!"
Okay...
Hello everyone! I present to you chapter 6
"Good thing too! we were just party-crashed by a uninvited guest *cough* Fruitloop *cough*..."

Chapter 6
Vlad stood there, smirking at the younger halfa. Vlad was dressed in his usual custom-made black suit, red tie with matching pressed handkerchief, and grey hair pulled into a ponytail. Jack had his arm around him, grinning widely.
"Vladdie's joined us for cake and ice cream!"
Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz shot glares at the older half-ghost. Danny's mom, Maddie, was also giving him a stink eye. Even though they had never met, Timmy, Wanda, and even Cosmo felt distrustful around Vlad. Mama Cosma on the other hand...
"Oh my! Now who is this utterly handsome man." swooned Mama Cosma, batting her eyelashes.
"Ugh, gross..." cringed the youth.
"Why Maddie, it's good to see you; Lovely as ever! Hello to Daniel's little friends and sister as well- Who are you?" Vlad questioned, the sly look on his face gone as he studied the pink capped boy and his fairies.
"Why these are Dann-o's birth parents, their godson, and grandmother!" Jack supplied, completely oblivious to the looks that were being shot his way.
"Birth parents? You mean, Daniel was adopted... Hmm, what an interesting turn of events." Vlad said, the sly look now back with a vengeance. Ignoring the mental eye-lasers from Danny (if looks could kill), Vlad walked up to the fairies and held his hand out.
"Whom do I have the pleasure of conversing with?"
Wanda glances at his hand reluctantly before accepting the handshake. "Wanda Cosma. This is my Husband Cosmo, his mother, and our godson Timmy," Wanda managed, a wary smile on her face.
"And we are totally normal people, not fairies whatsoever!" Blurted out Cosmo.
Vlad raised an eyebrow at that comment, but shrugged it off. "Vlad Masters. Billionaire, owner of my own companies like DALV inc., and Mayor of this quaint little town just to name a few of my accomplishments."
"Now that is quite impressive!" Said Mama Cosma, "How do you manage it all?"
"I have certain abilities that are available to me," came the reply, with a brief condescending look thrown in Danny's direction.
"Not that this isn't interesting, but we should dish out the cake and ice cream." Maddie interjected.
"That's right! Blow out the candles and we can cut the cake."
Ignoring Vlad for the present moment, Danny, with a deep breath, blew out the candles. Cake and ice cream were dished up ("The birthday boy gets the first slice") and everyone enjoyed their portions. Jack scarfed down his dessert sloppily, earning a look of disgust from Mama Cosma. Vlad approached Timmy, who was watching him with suspicion.
"So Timothy, is it? What do you enjoy to do on your free time?"
"Pretty much what a typical boy would do. Not that you would understand; since you apparently like to dress up and wear your hair like a girl."
That got to Vlad, who recoiled with shock at the remark. Danny, who was also shocked, bit his lip as he tried not to laugh. His friends were exchanging amused looks.
"What!?"
"Come on, You look like you're even wearing eye liner! I should know, my mom wears the stuff. So does Francis, but he's weird. Since you're not a lady, you must fall into the 'weird' category."
The dam broke; Danny was now on the floor, gasping for air as he guffawed at Vlad's expense. Sam, Tucker, Cosmo, and Jazz were also laughing. Wanda and Maddie had amused looks. Vlad was turning red with anger. 'What impertinence- the little BRAT!' He took a breath to calm himself.
"Well, aren't you... something else."
"Timmy, that was impolite of you to say to mister Masters," Mama Cosma scolded.
"Now, now. I understand how children can be. Speaking of children, however did you manage to get separated from Daniel?" Vlad asked, turning to Cosmo and Wanda.
There was something off about the man; whatever it was, Wanda couldn't tell how exactly. She planned to give him as little information about them as possible. 'Who knows, this man may end up to be worse than Crocker' she thought warily. "A rival of ours kidnapped him from our local park. While he was apprehended, the authorities couldn't find Danny and our rival wouldn't say where he sent him... I'm sorry, it's so painful to talk about-"
"Oh, it's alright my dear! I completely understand," Vlad remarked, taking Wanda's hand with consolidation. A grin starts to appear on his face, one that obviously means trouble. "It is rather fortunate that the Fentons here were able to take Daniel in, considering their profession- Say Jack, have you shown your guests your marvelous inventions and-"
"No I haven't! Great idea V-Man, I should show them the lab!" Jack declared. He grabbed both Cosmo and Mama Cosma, much to the latter's displeasure, and dragged them to the basement. The teens shot glares at the older halfa.
"Well, as much as I would love nothing more than to hear all about your studies for the millionth time, I really must be off. Mayoral duties and such; Ta!" With that, Vlad left the building; but not before Timmy could call out "Goodbye miss ponytail man!" causing snickers from the youth and an irritated growl from the man.
"Well I had better head down to make sure Jack doesn't go overboard," said Maddie as she headed to the basement.
"I'll come with you," Wanda said, then turned to the youth. "To keep an eye on Cosmo. You know how he gets around flashy buttons..." she whispered to Timmy, who nodded in agreement. After both ladies left the room, the teens turned each other.
"Now that was abrupt," Tucker mentioned as they headed to the kitchen, jabbing a thumb to where Vlad had made his getaway.
"He's obviously up to something. The question is, what?"
"So can anyone tell me what is the deal with ponytail man?" Timmy asked.
"He's my archenemy and half-ghost like me. His alter-ego is called 'Vlad Plasmius'. To summarize: he wants to kill Dad, marry Mom, make me his evil son/apprentice, and to rule the world I think." Danny explained. Timmy grew wide eyed.
"Your dad is friends with a man who wants to kill him? And he's the mayor!? Dang, that's messed up!"
"And the worse part is that he knows Danny's secret; if he exposed Vlad, then Vlad would reveal Danny's identity," Sam grumbled, glaring at the door Vlad had exited.
"C'mon, we better go downstairs to keep an eye on Dad." Jazz said, leading the others down to the lab.
...
"-And this is the Fenton Peeler! This puppy can peel a ghost like an onion!"
The youth come down into the basement to find the Fenton patriarch doing his one favorite thing; blathering on about ghosts. He was showing the human disguised fairies all the ghost equipment in the lab. Wanda followed along, occasionally asking questions to Maddie as she prevented Cosmo from touching anything. Mama Cosma was displeased; she wasn't very impressed with the Fentons (namely the father), and the longer she stayed, the more she noticed things that she did not approve of.
The teens and younger boy watched off to the side.
"Your dad sure loves talking about ghosts," Timmy remarked.
"You have no idea..." stated all four teens as the elder Fenton continued his rant.
"These are Fenton ecto-bazookas: perfect for blasting ghosts apart molecule by molecule!" Jack proudly patted the side of one of the bazookas. Suddenly, it goes off. Yelping in surprise, everyone hits the floor as the stray blast hits a far off wall.
"That almost hit us!" Cried Mama Cosma, "What if it had hit one of the children?!"
Maddie was the first one to speak up. "Sorry about that! The safety must of been turned off. Mistakes are bound to happen, but we try to ensure the safety of our inventions-"
As Mrs. Fenton assured the frantic Mama Cosma, a blue whisp escaped Danny's mouth.
"Oh no..."
The teens, Timmy, and the fairy couple noticed.
"What's up?" Timmy whispered.
"That's my 'ghost sense', which tells me there are ghosts nearby..."
Suddenly, three ghostly vultures phased into the lab.
"GHOST!" The Fenton Parents yelled as they left into action.
"Excuse me! We prefer the term 'Ecto-American'," stated the one wearing a fez.
"Fezzes are cool..."
Not the time Crystal...
The ghosts swooped at the people in the room a couple times. Jack and Maddie, armed with ecto-blasters and bazookas, stared blasting at the birds. After a few minutes of this, the vultures phased out of the basement through the roof.
"We got runners!" Jack called out as both Fenton parents barreled up the stairs, leaving the kids, the fairy couple, and one shaken-up Mama Cosma.
"Oh my SPARKLES! We're being invaded! How- wha- why-"
"Just relax, they're gone now," Jazz said to placate the fairy. "Mom and Dad will take care of it-"
"How on EARTH can you be calm AT A TIME LIKE THIS?! We were just attacked!"
"To be fair, this happens all the time," Tucker said with a shrug, missing the gestures of the others for him to keep quiet.
"What!?"
"Although it tends to be more dangerous. Those guys are mainly just a nuisance. Now take Skulker; he deliberately tries to hunt-" Tucker earns a jab to the ribs from Sam. "Ouch!"
Danny turns to the older fairy. "Ignore Tucker, the kidder; he doesn't know when to shut up-""Hey!""There's nothing to worry about-"
"Of course there is much to worry about! This town is dangerous-"
"Now Mama Cosma..." Wanda tried to reason with the errant fairy.
"Don't you 'Now Mama Cosma' me missy! Daniel is in grave peril; he cannot and should not be permitted to stay with this family of ruffians."
"WHAT!?""NO!""You can't do that to my brother!""Don't call my family THAT!""Why?!" Came multiple protests from everyone in the room, but Mama Cosma was already on her way up the stairs. Danny gave a groan in frustration.
"Well that went well."
"Gee Tuck, thanks for the obvious again," Danny remarked, dragging his hand over his face. "This is not going to end well at all..."
"Where did those ghosts come from?" Timmy asked.
"Those three regularly work for Vlad; which must mean he sent them here. But for what purpose..." Danny mused.
"They work for Vlad?!" Questioned Wanda, both her and Cosmo looking startled.
"He's Danny's archenemy. He wants to kill his dad- not you Cosmo, Mr. Fenton" Timmy clarified to the briefly panicked fairy, "marry Mrs. Fenton, make Danny his evil son, and rule the world." Timmy explained. "He even has powers like Danny."
"I knew something felt off about the man..." Wanda said to herself.
"It's always the politicians..." Cosmo muttered in agreement.
Sam, meanwhile, was fuming at the Cosma family matriarch. "What NERVE! Who does she think she is barging in and thinking she can drag Danny away from his home!" She turned to the fairies standing nearby. "You can't let her take Danny away; this is Danny's family too!"
"And we won't," Wanda replied. "We wouldn't want to do something like that. We'll deal with Mama Cosma. She will be stubborn though-"
"You can say that again! I should know, She is my mother," Cosmo added, looking nervous about what was to come.
"Let's get back to why the vultures showed up. The most confusing part is why; why did they show up? They didn't steal anything or attack. They just flew around and got shot at."
"...a diversion?"
"I don't think so..." Danny said, deep in thought.
"Maybe they wanted to be shot at?" asked Cosmo.
"Now Cosmo, why would they want to be-"
"Wait, I think he's on to something," Jazz interrupted Wanda's lecturing of her husband.
"He is?""I am?"
"I think that's what Vlad is after: he wants Danny's birth family to think that he's in danger, so they will take him away..."
"And that will leave Vlad full run of the town without Danny able to interfere!" Tucker finished the thought.
Sam scowled at the idea "Definitely sounds like something that cheesehead would try-"
"Well it's obviously NOT gonna happen!" Danny stated as he went up the stairs, with everyone else following.
...
They came up to find Mama Cosma in a full-blown argument with the Fenton parents.
"-IS A TOTAL LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY!"
"How DARE you accuse us of endangering our children! We would never put them in harms way!"
"Hmph! Right! So you say, after blasting guns around willy-nilly! At least you have good taste in friends, that I can say-"
"Hey! Calm down everyone!" Called out Jazz, getting the attention of the feuding adults. "There has been a big misunderstanding here: let's all sit down and talk about this like rational people."
"As much as I like you Jasmine, I must insist that there is only one rational decision to be made here: Daniel must come with us." Mama Cosma said, earning a gasp of shock and slight dread from Jack and Maddie. "Don't acted surprised! Danny has found his real family and should be with them. They can set up his room at home, have his transcripts sent to the local school- He can stay with me while they get his things ready-"
"No! I'm not gonna leave! You may not approve of them, but they are just as much my family as my birth parents." Danny said, moving to stand with his parents. Both Jack and Maddie give Danny watery smiles, both happy and relieved that Danny was standing up for them "Danny..."
"Daniel, I'm trying to do what's best for you!"
"And this is what's best for me. You're not going to change my mind about that."
"And he shouldn't need to," Wanda said, moving to stand by the Fentons; Cosmo, Jazz, Timmy, and Danny's two friends came right after. "They kept Danny safe for ten years; they have more than proven themselves of being responsible. You just want to have everything your way: being controlling of Cosmo, trying to butt into our relationship, and now trying to pull Danny away from those he loves."
"That's totally not cool!" Timmy said, with the older youth nodding in agreement.
Mama Cosma huffed. She then headed to the door. "This isn't over! Daniel will have to go back to where he belongs-"
"And that's right here." Came Danny's response as he gave the fairy a firm gaze.
And with that, the door slams shut.
~~~Line Break~~~
"What a day..."
"You still have to open your presents."
Danny looked at the wrapped parcels in front of him, excluding the ones from Mama Cosma ("If anyone asks, say the Box Ghost got them..."). From Sam, the new Dumpty Humpty album. From Tucker, a The Most Needed: Race to the Finish game and a gift card to the local arcade. The Fentons had gotten him a new model of the German V-2 rocket and tickets to the space emporium. Valerie had gotten him a blue scarf with the NASA logo. Timmy came up to Danny with a wrapped gift of his own.
"From me, Cosmo, and Wanda." Said Timmy, handing Danny the gift.
"You didn't have to get me anything. The phone was enough." Danny said.
"Phone? What phone?" Asked Maddie.
Danny pulled out his new phone, handing it to his parents. "They got me a new phone once they heard my old one broke."
"That's very kind of you," Maddie said to the fairies.
"It's nothing! We can afford it." Wanda replied.
"Where did you get such a fancy phone?" Asked Jack.
"Uhh, the internet?" came Timmy's famous excuse, which Jack bought.
Danny turned his attention to the wrapped box in front of him.
"Oh! I wonder what it could be!"
Pulling the ribbon off, he worked the wrapping paper off the box. Opening the box, he let out a gasp, eyes widening at the object inside; a small, state-of-the art drone. He pulled out the small aircraft out, smiling with excitement. "A drone!?"
"Yep! It even has a camera that can connect to your phone," Timmy chirped up, pointing at various parts of the device, explaining to the teen what functions it had. Jazz and Sam looked impressed at the gift, while Tucker looked jealous. Danny was grinning wildly. "I can see much potential for this..." He looked up from the drone. "Thank you all for the best birthday ever!"
"Despite what happened earlier?" Jazz asked with a knowing smile.
"Yes, despite what happened earlier, today has been great."
"Well, it's getting late and we had best be heading back," Wanda said, after helping clean up.
"Awww, do we really need to?" Both Timmy and Cosmo pouted. Wanda shook her head in amusement.
"Yes, I'm afraid so."
"Where do you live?" Jack asked.
"Dimmsdale," Timmy said.
"Why not stay for the night? We have a guest room for the adults and I'm sure Danny won't mind sharing-," Maddie offered.
"That's okay; besides, we promised to have Timmy back. It's not that far."
"You're sure?"
"We'll be fine! Come boys."
With some grumbling from Timmy, the three got up and bid their farewells. Danny stepped outside with them, telling his parents that he wanted a moment more with them.
"This has been one crazy day, even by my standards." Danny said, looking up at the sky. He then turned his gaze towards Cosmo and Wanda- his mother and father. "But I'm glad it happened."
Both Cosmo and Wanda smile at that, Wanda once again getting teary eyed. "I'm so happy! I got to see my son again. And he's a superhero; I'm so proud!" Cosmo said gleefully, earning chuckles from the others.
Both scoop up Danny into an embrace, holding it for several minutes. Timmy watched this with great satisfaction. Normally his wishes were for his selfish wants (nothing inherently bad about that), but he really enjoyed when he wished for something that brought joy to someone else. This time around, he had helped Cosmo and Wanda bring back their family together. For all the times that Cosmo and Wanda helped him, he was finally able to pay them back. Timmy was brought out of his thoughts when he was pulled into the hug. After a few more moments, the four broke the hug, and were now smiling at each other.
"...So what now?" Danny asked.
"Well, We'll definitely be coming to see you frequently. And we'll take you to Fairy World to see some old friends and family. I know my Dad and sister would want to see you," Wanda said.
Timmy began to bounce, "and there is still a lot that we can do together! I can show you around my town, you can show me around yours, we can go to the ghost zone, we can-" Timmy stopped his rant, suddenly overcome with yawning.
Danny chuckled. "I think the first order of business is for you to get some sleep."
"How can I sleep when- *YAWN* - much happened..." Timmy trailed off, slowly looking sleepier by the minute.
"How about we meet up tomorrow? None of us have school tomorrow and my schedule's clear." Timmy nodded his head in agreement. Cosmo and Wanda smile at that, happy that Danny wanted to spend more time with them.
"Sounds perfect! Now hopefully this time there won't be any surprise visits from anyone like Mama Cosma," Wanda said
Danny groaned at the mention of his Grandmother. "She's not going to quit, is she?"
"I'm afraid not. She's very stubborn..." said Cosmo, who once again looked worried.
"We'll deal with that once we cross that bridge," Wanda said, picking up Timmy into her arms. "Goodnight Danny, sweet dreams." She said, giving him a quick peck on the cheek.
"See you tomorrow Mr. Superhero!" Cosmo said, tasseling Danny's hair a bit, earning a slight laugh from the halfa. Danny then faced Timmy.
"Night little bro."
"Night big bro."
And with a poof of magic, the trio were gone.
...
Back in Dimmsdale, in Timmy's room.
In a poof, Timmy is back in his bedroom. The house is quiet (his parents probably still occupied with whatever Rom-Com junk they were obsessed with). Timmy trudges to his bed and flops on.
"Man, what a day!" Timmy says, looking at the fishbowl by his bedside. Cosmo and Wanda, now as fish, nodded in agreement.
"I'll say," Wanda sighed happily, "we've finally found our little baby, safe and sound! I couldn't have asked for anything better-"
Suddenly, random noises come from the castle in the fishbowl.
"Cosmo, what are you doing?"
"We've found Danny; now we're able to do all the things I've been wanting to do with him!" Cosmo called from the castle. "Hey Wanda, have you seen the flamingos?"
Wanda sighed. "I better make sure he doesn't do anything stupid- well, more stupid than usual. Goodnight Timmy! Tomorrow is a new day." She then swam into the castle.
Timmy smiled. "Hey yeah! A whole day tomorrow... with my new godbrother... *YAWN* ... so much to do..." Timmy muttered to himself as he drifted to sleep.
...
"Well this is certainly a day none of us will forget." Sam said as the three friends and Jazz lounged in Danny's room; Sam and Tucker waiting for their parents to come pick them up.
"Unless you guys blab about the existence of fairies. Then this huge G.I. Joe-like fairy dude would probably come beat the tar out of you, then wipe your minds."
"Hahahaha... wait, you're not joking..." Tucker said as he noticed Danny's serious face.
"Definitely not. His name is Jorgen VonStrangle: living proof that not all fairies are all sugar-plums and niceness. The guy's twice as big as Dash and shares his love of causing bodily harm." Tucker pales slightly at the description.
"He sounds like the life of the party," Sam deadpanned.
"Sam, Tucker; your parents are here!"
"Gotta go. G'night Danny, and happy birthday." Sam hugged Danny before leaving the room. Tucker and Danny fist bump.
"See ya dude! Now if you start sprouting wings-"
"Tucker..."
"Kidding! Happy birthday!"
Now it's just the two siblings in the room.
"Some day, Huh?" Jazz asked.
"Yep."
"You doing alright?"
"There's no need to go psychoanalyst on me; I'm doing great, honest." Danny was now pulling out the case from under his bed.
"What are you doing?"
"So basically I had made a sort of keepsakes box of when I was little; before you guys had found me," he said, looking up at his sister. "I just thought that- If you're interested- would you like to see them?"
Jazz smiled, "I would love that."
...~~~oOo~~~...
That is not the last of Vlad.
"What about Mama Cosma?"
Family drama is bound to happen. She'll warm up to the Fentons, don't worry.
"What happens next?"
Can't tell you everything. Just know that there will be awesome team-ups, space, and Vicky and Dash getting their just desserts in the future...
"Hooray! Poetic Justice!"
