Chapter 6: Christmas in hell and mirrors.
The following months leading up to winter break was not that eventful. Except for the fact that when Harry, Ron, and Hermione were invited to Hagrid's hut for tea they learned a little bit about what the dog was guarding and even it's name that didn't really fit it. The thing that caught their attention was the name Nicolas Flamel. Thus started the research for that man and what might be hidden past that dog. So far there was no luck in the group. They spent days in the library and they found nothing related to flemel.
Just before break occurred Harry noticed that Quirrell and snape were at odds. Quirrell had Harry's suspicion for hiding something. Now snape was added to the mix and had a limp to him. Snape must have stopped Quirrell from getting past fluffy and he got hurt. The sooner that they figure out what is hidden the easier it would be to figure out what Quirrell was hiding.
Once winter break begun the trio decided to do their own research into who this Nicholas Flamel was. Harry was excited because he was going back home after being away from there for several months. Harry climbed aboard the train that will take students who are going home for the holidays to kings cross station. Harry sat in a compartment with Hermione and they chatted the whole train ride. When they got there Harry saw Hermione's parents and met them.
Then he saw who was there to pick him up. It was Mr. Stolas and Octavia in human disguises. Harry introduced Hermione to Octavia. The three denizens of hell made their way to a secluded place and opened a portal home.
With M in hell.
The two imps along with their boss and new coworker were setting up a surprise welcome back party. Normally they wouldn't have done something like this but it was for Harry. Harry seems to bring out the good in them. Even if Blitzo denies every claim that it was the case. Loona seemed less edgy with Harry being around. The plan was for Stolas and Octavia to stall Harry from coming to HQ yet and they set everything up. It also gave Harry time to receive gifts from people in the living world.
It was around the time that Harry should get back home and the imps were waiting patiently for Harry to come out of a portal. When the portal formed they hid behind things and as soon as Harry stepped in he was greeted with a loud yell of surprise.
The next thing he knew Harry was being held in a tight hug from Moxxie and Millie. Harry was glad to be back even though right at that moment he was embarrassed. Then Moxxie grabbed him by his shoulders and inspected him thoroughly. "Are you ok? You had us worried that you were hurt. Maybe you should stay here and be safe..." Moxxie rambled on and on bringing a smile to Millie seeing how protective he was. Loona came up to Harry and punched his shoulder. "What's up magic nerd." Loona says to him with a slight smirk. When Moxxie was pried off Harry and the party was in full swing. Blitzo came up to Harry and said "you did some nice shooting up there kid. You have a place here in the I.M.P. just letting you know. You can be an intern. Just imagine all of the money we could make with you and your magic shit!" Blitzo kept on throwing his sales pitch to Harry to join the I.M.P.
After a while Moxxie, Blitzo, Stolas, and Millie ended up being drunk from the grownups eggnog that the kids couldn't drink. Octavia and Loona were in a corner talking while Harry was watching the Electric eels that blitzo had in the office. Then he had got a shiver down his spine and a feeling that he should run. He slowly turns around and saw Loona and Octavia holding mistletoe above their heads and slowly walking towards Harry. He quickly got up and started to run while the two girls chased him down. In the end they cornered him and they both kissed him on the lips. Harry was as red as a tomato and the girls were laughing. They explained why they did that. According to them they read some books and the books characters kissed each other. So the two of them wanted to see what the whole deal with that was.
Harry couldn't even make a coherent statement. To their shock Blitzo suddenly sober and yelled at Harry. "You better not have done anything to my precious Loony you little fucking brat!!!" At that statement from blitzo the three kids laughed. When the other adults sobered up they cleaned up after themselves and headed to their respective places.
During his time back in hell Harry went over to Stolas' mansion and looked through the library there for any mention of Nicholas Flamel. With the help of Octavia he managed to find some information on the guy. What he found out was that flamel created the sorcerer stone. It was said that it could turn any metal into gold and is a component for the elixir of life.
Harry was glad to finally find something about that man. He was also glad to have fun with Octavia. Octavia herself was happy to have a distraction from her mom and dad fighting by spending time with Harry. Ever since they met Octavia and Harry always were a goofy pair. Octavia remembered the first time that they met.
A five year old Octavia is standing behind her father while two imps and a boy. They were walking towards her and her father. She hid her face when the imps and the boy was close to them. The boy let go of his parents hands and walked up to her. When he was in her face he excitedly said "Hi my name is Harry Potter. Do you want to be my friend?" He was like a ball of energy. Octavia stammered out " Hh.. hi my n... nname is Octavia. I would love to be your friend." That day Harry and her ran around the mansion and had fun. Though Octavia remembered that Harry nearly got eaten by one of the plants her mother loves. Her mother also scolded him for not being careful. Her mother wanted to say more about how he was inferior to her and her daughter. Her mother might have saw how much fun her daughter was having and withheld her opinion for her daughter's happiness from the lonely life she had before that day.
Those are some of the fond memories of Harry that she had. She was very thankful for them. Even the time they both were traumatized by that fucking clown. Back to the present Harry and her had fun looking for flemel and now it was time for him to head back home. She gave him a hug and waved goodbye as he heads back to the I.M.P. HQ.
Back at the IMP building Harry was training his aim and his speed with using a gun. He had time to kill until he had to go back to Hogwarts. Whenever loona was bored she would come down to the training room and watch Harry train. From ever since she could remember Harry was by her side. She would usually tease the poor guy but hey it was fun to do it. Especially when Harry made it so easy. She started calling him nerd because he was curious about everything and liked to read. She just recently added magic to her nickname for him. He had a nickname for her as well. She had it ever since they were 3 and 4. He called her loon loon. No one else knew the nickname. But back in the present loona was bored from just sitting in the office while the others were on a job. So she went down to see what Harry was doing in the training room. When she got there Harry was just getting done with target practice with his gun. He switches to his wand and practiced his spells that he learned so far. It was interesting to watch. After that he left the training room. The process of Harry training his spell work and marksmanship continued until the day he had to leave.
The whole ordeal was sad for Millie and Moxxie. Well more so for Moxxie because he did want Harry to leave just yet. Harry was finally able to leave after Millie promised Moxxie something that made him red in his face. Harry and this time blitzo went to the train to get back to Hogwarts. They said their goodbyes and Harry headed off to school.
Back at Hogwarts.
The winter break had a week left before school kicked back into gear. Harry had taken up to having midnight strolls around the castle before he went to bed. He was thankful that someone left a present for him on his bed when he returned to the school. It was an invisibility cloak and Harry at the moment was under it as he walked into a room where there stood a mirror. Harry looked into the mirror and for a second he only saw himself.
Eventually he noticed that he was growing older and he became taller and he saw besides him were his family and friends from hell. He had a gun in a holster and his wand out in one hand and in the other a child being held in his hand. Harry couldn't make out much about the child except that it looked like him and someone else put together. Harry noticed that Moxxie and Millie both had another baby in their hands and they are cooing at them. They are like the first child in Harry's arms. Harry was courteous about the whole thing. So he kept coming back to it and even brought Ron with him one time. Ron couldn't see what Harry saw but saw something else. He had gold and had a trophy in his hand. After that Harry figured out that the mirror only showed what the person desires. On the last night before break was over Harry was in the mirror room again and was looking at what he sees in the mirror. When he gets startled by the crazy old man who runs this school.
He surmised what Harry figured out about the mirror and told him that it will be moved to a new place after tonight. Harry asked what he saw in the mirror and Dumbledore said "well I see myself holding a pair of bright yellow socks." Then the old man left. Harry couldn't determine if he was lying or telling the truth because seriously who desires socks? 'Well the old man is a bit senile' Harry mused to himself. After that he got up and headed back to the dorms. Tomorrow was going to be the first day back to school after break. Got to be prepared.
Well folks that's were I am ending this chapter. Let me know if you liked it or not. I now that some people might think that I am rushing the story. To be honest I am a little bit because I am just remembering the key parts of the first book and I have to reference it to make sure that I get facts correct. I am still working on my writing skills and I know months and years later if I look back at this story I will cringe. That's why I always say on with my cringe. Hope that you like the little snippet of Octavia's past with Harry. Episode five of Helluva Boss came out today!!!! I have watched it and it is good. Well anyways toodles!!!!!!!
