I didn't plan for what's about to happen to happen. I planned on this being a cute, short, story, but based on comments/reviews, ya'll aren't ready for this to end. So, I had to come up with something and I hope you enjoy what I did.

(Also, for those of you who may be new to my stories, I don't abandon them, I just also don't update every day. I am currently writing six different stories, so I do my best to update them each at least once a month. Sometimes there's more, sometimes I don't quite get there, but I do my best.)

Chapter 6

Morning came far too soon, and Emma lay in bed watching little Regina sucking on her thumb. She stroked her hair, memorizing the little cherub face. "I'm going to miss you, baby girl, but I really can't wait to have the adult you back."

Zelena came early to set the potion up. It didn't have to wait until that night, so it was decided they'd give it to Regina in the day. As if she knew something was going on, the little one clung to Emma like a koala. Zelena put the potion in a sippy cup and handed it to Emma. "When ever you're ready, give that to her. Once she drinks it, she will fall asleep and within ten minutes, Regina will be back. I'd recommend stripping her down as when her body grows, her clothes won't."

Emma nodded and kissed Regina's forehead. "Come on, baby girl, let's go in the living room." She stripped the girl bare and wrapped her in the blanket, trying to ignore the tears in her eyes and the hurt in her heart. It had felt so good to be loved and wanted the way baby Regina loved and wanted her. Sure, she was excited for what may happen when Regina was herself, but she'd miss this unconditional love and trust.

"Mommy no cry." Little Gina said, snuggling into Emma.

Emma nuzzled into the girl's hair. "I'm not crying. I love you so much. Now, it's time for you to drink the juice that Auntie Zelena made for you."

Regina looked up at Emma, almost as if she knew what would happen. She kissed Emma's cheek and then drank the potion, her eyes locked on Emma's. When she was done, Emma could see the magic swirling in Regina's eyes. "Love you, mommy." She said before laying her head on Emma's chest.

"I love you, Gina. Forever and ever." Emma whispered.

Zelena watched, her heart twisting at the scene in front of her. She had secretly taken pictures and had plans on making Emma and Regina a special album.

The little one in Emma's arms started growing. She went from around two, to what Zelena would guess was four, then five or six and then it all stopped.

"What the hell?" Zelena asked, coming closer.

"What's going on?" Emma asked, trying not to freak out. She had mentally prepared for adult Regina and had even fantasized what they could potentially be doing that night to get over her "loss" of baby Gina.

"It…it didn't work. I swear I did everything right!"

"I…will she know me? What memories will she have?"

"Emma, I honestly don't know." She watched as the little one stirred. "I guess we'll find out."

Emma watched as the beautiful little girl's eyelashes fluttered and then blinked a few times before fully opening. "Mommy!" She said, flinging her arms around Emma.

Emma was shocked, but she hugged the little one back. "You…you remember me?"

"Yes, Mommy. I was little and now I'm bigger, but you're still my mommy."

Emma looked at Zelena. "It's like she has no other memories."

Zelena nodded, not sure what to think of all of this. "Regina sweetie, what's the last thing you remember before waking up."

Regina cuddled against Emma. "You gave me yucky stuff that I haded to drink and it made Mommy cry. Do I hafta drink more?"

"There is no more right now." Zelena said. "I just don't know what I did wrong."

"You tryn'a make me big again?"

Both women looked shocked at the little one. "Regina…do you remember being big?"

"A little. I know I'm not s' posed to be little. I was making yucky stuff but I did something wrong too. I think the 'gredients are wrong in that book."

"I think you're right." Zelena nodded, sighing. "Emma, it's going to take more time. Are…can you…can she stay here?"

Regina clung to Emma. "Please don't send me away."

Emma could feel the energy in the room change as Regina's fear hit her. She rubbed the girls back to try and calm her down. "You're not going anywhere, Gina. Zelena, it's fine. If I can help in any way, just let me know. Regina left me a letter and said that if you think it'll help, that I can show you, but it didn't really say anything other than what she was trying to do." She felt a little bad talking about Regina with little Regina right there, but she had to say something. "Are we looking at another 60 days?"

Zelena sighed. "At least." She rubbed her temples. "I may have to ask for help, Emma."

"I understand. Maybe try Belle before Blue or Rumple? And Blue before Rumple. If it comes to that, I'll come with you. I just…I don't want any of us owing Rumple a favor."

"I agree. I always forget about that book worm, but this may be just right up her alley. If you don't mind, I'll go see her right away."

Emma shook her head. "I don't mind. Thank you, Zelena." Emma looked down to see if Regina was awake and smiled when those brown eyes were gazing up at her. "It's okay, Gina. We'll have more fun days and get this all figured out."

Regina smiled. "Okay, Mommy." She then looked at Zelena. "Thanks for helping."

It was such a strange mixture. It was like a little Regina but with part of the mind of adult Regina. Zelena smiled. "No problem, sis." She then left in her puff of smoke.

Emma studied Regina. "Honey, how much do you know?"

Regina sat up more, still on Emma's lap, the blanket wrapped around her. "It's all kinda fuzzy. I know I'm meant to be big, I know I was a baby, I know you're not really my mommy but I love you so much that I call you mommy. But…it's not all staying in my head. It's…it's fading away."

Emma kissed Regina's forehead. "It's okay baby girl. Are you tired or hungry?"

"No, Mama, I'm cold."

"Oh right." Emma hadn't been expecting a six-year-old and had no clothes for her. "Okay, let me see if I can do something about an outfit and then we can go shopping. How does that sound?"

Regina smiled a bright smile, showing she was missing her two front teeth. "Yes!"

Emma chuckled and closed her eyes. "I'm not as good with magic as you will be one day but here goes." She opened her eyes and saw that Regina was now in a cute purple shirt with a green tiara on it and some jeans with socks and shoes finishing it up. "I hope that's okay."

"It's perfect mommy. Can you braid my hair?"

"That is something I can do, baby girl." Emma put her long hair in two Dutch braids and they then set off. After getting far too many clothes, they stopped at Granny's for lunch. Emma had sent a group text to her parents and Henry, telling them what was going on. She had not, however, got the chance to tell anyone else.

"Emma, I thought after Regina was aged, I wouldn't see you for a while." Ruby said with a wink and Emma rolled her eyes.

"Well, it didn't quite work." She said, gesturing to the small girl clutching her leg. "We're guessing she's about six now." Emma picked Regina up. "Do you remember Ruby?"

Regina looked at her and then shook her head. "Mommy, I'm forgetting everything." She said, putting her head on Emma's shoulder.

"It's okay, sweetie." She looked at Ruby. "I'll call you later."

"No problem. Where do you two want to sit today?"

"Maybe at a booth in the back? She seems a bit shy today."

"No problem." Ruby sat them and then gave them some time.

"Honey, are you still hungry?"

"Yes, Mama. I just feel fuzzy and I…I don't 'member nothing from before today."

"It's okay, honey. Let's just focus on today. Do you know what you want to eat?"

Regina looked at the kid's menu because it had pictures. "What's that, mommy?"

Emma smiled. "That, my Princess, is a corn dog. You know what? I'm going to get corn dogs today with onion rings."

"I want a corny dog too!"

Emma grinned. "I think we'll get a special lunch today."

"Do you know what you'll have?" Ruby came over with a grin. "Something from the kids' menu?"

"Nah, we're having a special lunch. We'll take um…four corn dogs, an order of onion rings, an order of fries, and a large strawberry milk shake with two straws."

Ruby wrote it down with her brow raised. "Adult Regina is going to kill you."

Emma chuckled and tapped Regina's nose. "But Gina here is going to love me."

Ruby chuckled. "You got it. That'll be out shortly."

"Thank you." Emma looked at Regina who was coloring with the crayons Ruby had brought and then looked around before grinning. "Hey Gina? Do you want to play a fun game?"

Regina looked up with a smile. "Yes! What is it?"

"It's called pinball. Come here, sweetness." She said, standing and holding her hand out. Over by the pinball machine, Emma brought a chair over so Regina could stand on it and see the full glory of the machine. She looked up. "What's that?"

"That's the score board. It has the top ten scores on it."

"They all have the same letters."

Emma smirked. "They do. E-M-S"

"What do those letters mean?"

"Emma Marie Swan." Emma said proudly.

"Emma…wait, is that you, Mommy? Did you get all the high scores?"

"I sure did, baby girl. Let me show you some tips."

The two played for a bit, Regina's adorable giggle filling the place and making everyone smile. Ruby took many pictures and once the food was done, she put it on their table before going over. "Your food is ready."

Regina's tongue was sticking out of the gap from her lost teeth as she pressed the side buttons for the flappers. "Just..a…aww man!" She put her hands on her hips and looked crossly at Ruby. "You messed me up!" Her little foot was tapping and Ruby was trying so hard not to laugh.

Instead, the waitress gave a small bow. "I'm very sorry, your little majesty, but I thought you'd want to know that your food was ready before it got cold. Warm corndogs are amazing but cod corndogs are yucky."

Emma chuckled. "Regina, it's okay look! You got the number eight spot!" Emma started putting in R-M-M but Regina took her hand before she could finish.

"What are those letters for?"

"For you. Regina Maria Mills."

Regina shook her head. "Gina Maria Swan." She said, looking at Emma with those big brown eyes.

Emma felt her heartstrings being pulled and she fixed it to G-M-S. "There. Gia Maria Swan. Now, Ruby is right, cold corn dogs are yucky."

The two went to the table and while Regina wanted to eat the corndogs like Emma, she found it hard to do so with her missing teeth. In the end, Emma cut both Regina and her corndogs up. She was surprised the little one liked onion rings as most kids didn't, and adult Regina claimed she didn't, but she had to wonder. Both she and Ruby got some pictures of her and by the time they were done, both Regina and Emma were stuffed. Emma let Regina pay the bill and the two headed out.

Once home, Emma would have put baby Regina down to take a nap, but she wasn't exactly sure about six-year-old girls. "Hey, Mama's tired. What do you say we cuddle on the couch and you can pick something to watch while I close my eyes for a bit?"

"I'm tired too, Mommy. Can we cuddle in my bed?"

"Your bed? Right, I um…we'll have to do something about your bed honey." She made sure things were locked up and went upstairs with Regina. "You see, we have your adult bed and your baby bed." She said, opening the door.

"I like the big bed! But mama, do I gots toys and stuff?"

Emma closed her eyes and when she opened them, she smiled that it worked. The room was still Regina and had the same bed, but now, it had a kid friendly black, red, and purple comforter on it along with many pillows and stuffed animals. Toys were all over the room since the baby stuff was now gone. "Is that better?"

Regina smiled. "Yes, mommy. Thank you." She said, getting up in the bed."

Emma checked the closet to make sure Regina's new clothes had made it there with her magic and then she got on the bed and laid down. "We can't sleep too long. I think my parents were hoping we'd come over for dinner tonight."

"Okay, mama." Regina said, sleepily.

Emma set the alarm on her phone and cuddled in with Regina, trying so hard not to focus on what was happening.

That night, the two did go over to Snow's and Emma loved watching Regina play with little Neal. "Can I be honest?" Emma asked, looking at her parents. "I'm okay with this. I want adult Regina back more than anything, but…I feel like I'm getting this second chance at motherhood and I'm loving every moment of it. That little girl loves me and it…don't tell Henry this, but this is better than any fake memories of having him."

"It's obvious she adores you and you adore her, Em." David said.

Snow smirked towards her daughter. "So does this mean you and Regina will be giving us more grandkids?"

Emma rolled her eyes but couldn't stop smiling. "Mom, I have no idea what will happen when she's an adult."

"But you found that letter."

David sighed and grabbed a beer. "I've had enough girl talk. I'll go in with the kids."

Emma chuckled and watched him go to the living room and then looked at her mother. "I know I found that letter, mom, but that doesn't mean that as soon as she becomes her again, we'll just suddenly be a couple. We've known each other for years, yes, but I…mom I want to date her. I've been thinking a lot about this and I keep thinking of places I can take her on our first date, things we can do together and that gets me excited."

"Baby girl, your father and I go on dates. All I'm saying is don't put things off if they don't have to be put off. Baby, your happiness comes first."

"No mom, hers comes first."

"If that's true, then I have no doubt you two will be together by the end of the year."

Once home, Emma introduced Regina to the world of Frozen. Though her adult self would never admit it, little Gina loved it. The little one fell asleep in Emma's lap and Emma took her upstairs to her room and laid her down. She then went back downstairs and was going to just lock up, but instead, found herself in Regina's office again. For some reason, she couldn't take the letter out of there and would sometimes go in and read it. She sat at Regina's desk and read it again and then put it down and chewed on her lip. She was going to write Regina back, no matter how stupid that may seem. However, when she opened the drawer to look for a notepad, the one she brought out had many filled pages. Curiosity got the better of her and she opened it.

I'm not saying 'Dear Diary' because I'm not some teenager. Instead, I'll just do this my way. It was a hard day again and I don't know how to keep doing this. She almost ran into me today as I was leaving the library and god, she was hot. I mean, she had been running, so she was sweating, her hair was pulled back in a messy bun and those work out clothes…gods they do something to me. I legit couldn't breathe for five minutes – and yes, I just said legit like a damn teenager. That's how she makes me feel though – like a damned horny teenager. The thing is, she has no idea what she does to me. She has no idea how damn beautiful she is and she should! He should be telling her that! He should be building her up but all he does is break her down. I see it all the time. The snide comments he makes, the way he patronizes her in front of everyone and she just smiles like it doesn't hurt. It hurts her though. I can see in her eyes how it hurts her. I just want to take her in my arms and hold her, love her, build her back up, but I can't. I can't and I don't know how to deal with it. Emma Swan will be the death of me.

Emma knew she shouldn't, but she couldn't stop reading. She remembered that day. She had been jogging because she was mad and hurt. Killian had done anther round of telling her how horrible she was when she had made him the dark one and she was over it. "Why didn't you just talk to me?" Emma asked as she flipped the pages.

Well, I almost told her today. I fucking wanted to tell her so badly, but he came in and ruined it. We were at her house and she had been crying. Of course she wouldn't tell me why, but I knew it was because of him. Henry had already told me how Killian had hissed at her when she messed up the dinner and told her she needed to be a better woman if she really wanted to be wanted. I want her! I want her so bad and I'd treat her right! Damn it, I'd never call her an orphan, a victim, I'd never tell her she's not good enough. I'd treat her like the goddamned Queen she is. I was just about to tell her all that when Killian waltz through the door and acted like Mr. Perfect. I wanted to just take Emma and shake her and tell her that she was TOO DAMNED GOOD FOR HIM. Ugh. I have to go or I may burn my own house down.

Emma wiped at her tears. Everything she thought she hid from Regina, from Henry, was all out there. They knew about it and they…why didn't they tell her? If Regina knew she wasn't happy, why wouldn't she have told her? She put the journal down and sat back. "Because she feared me. No…not feared me, but feared my reaction. I wish she'd have known that all I wanted was one person to tell me they see me." She decided to wait on the writing for now, knowing she just needed to talk to the woman. After much contemplation, she took the journal with her and headed upstairs. After checking on little Gina, she went to the guest room and got into bed, putting the journal under her pillow. She'd read enough that night but would probably read more later. It was wrong on so many levels, but she couldn't help herself.

In the middle of the night, Emma felt her bed moving. "Gina?" She asked sleepily.

"Mama, I haded a bad dream." The little one whined.

Emma rolled over and wrapped her arms around the little one. "I've got you, baby girl. Nothing can hurt you."

"That bad man won't come get me?"

"What bad man?" Emma asked, scared Regina was remembering Killian even if she forgot everything else.

"The one who walks with a stick. In my dream, he taked me and hurted me with magic."

"The man with a stick. Gold." Emma growled. "He will not touch you, my sweet girl. I swear I will not let him get to you."

Regina cuddled more into Emma. "Thank you, Mommy. Thank you for making me safe."
