BATTLEWORLD
The team were in the Rig, Sarge's truck that he's spent the last few years rebuilding whilst stuck on Earth Prime, on their way to the secret headquarters of these Jack Harkness and River Song characters who appeared and along with this alternative universe version of Caitlin Snow, who's a Jedi Knight and slaughtered an army of Daleks like it was nothing.
"I'm sorry, you're a Jedi?" Jefferson asks Caitlin.
"One of the last of my kind." Caitlin replies.
"Why am I not surprised anymore?" Frankie asks. "My mom is a super powerful defender of the universe in another reality."
"Yeah, I stopped making sense of our lives a long time ago." Miles states when the radio in the truck goes off.
"What's it doing?" Luke asks.
Jack races over and tries to get the signal back. "Someone's out there, calling for help. Hello, can anyone hear me? Anyone out there?"
"Okay, I don't know who's out there, but you're in the wrong area, pal! This place is crawling with Xenomorphs!" A childish voice called from the other end.
"Did she say Xenomorphs?" Cisco asks in shock.
"Who's talking?" Sarge asks.
"Oh my god, is that Coulson?!" The kid asks on the radio.
"For the love of-turn that off!" Sarge states in anger.
"Oh, god, I...I got-gotta go!" The kid says as she hangs up.
"No, wait!" Jack tried to stop her, but it was too late.
"Where'd that come from?" River asks.
"Somewhere close by." Jack answers.
"We need to save her!" Nia states.
"That wasn't part of the plan." Sarge states.
"She needs help, especially going against Xenomorphs." Gwen states.
"Yeah, and where would you think she is?" Sarge asks.
"The only places out here are some busted up buildings, and possibly a research station." Caitlin informs them as she's already been in the area before.
"Then let's trace the frequency." Barry tells them and Miles is already ahead of them.
"Looks like it came from the station coming up ahead." Miles told them.
"Sarge, change of plans." Nia calls out to the driver.
CH 6 : A BATWOMAN AND A SPIDER-MAN
Quantum Realm : Helicarrier
Drowned was in a power dampening cell while Peter-616 and Ava watched her. She hasn't said much since she's been captured, in fact she hasn't said anything since being captured.
"She won't answer any questions, refuses to speak to anybody." Ava informs him.
"Give it time, she'll break." Peter promises and walks off to talk to the others.
Chris was still carrying the trident with Emily and Alice as they all stood out the main window in the bridge. The three of them still felt strange being back and getting all of their old memories back with their false memories still there.
"You seriously plan on keeping that thing?" Emily asks Chris.
"I make it look cool." Chris states with a smile before they all go into an uncomfortable silence.
"So, I noticed you didn't cast any spells during the battle," Emily said to her friend, "is something wrong?"
"I don't know." Chris shrugged. "I just can't remember how to do any of my spells."
"How about you, Alice?" Emily asked as she turned to face her. "What do you remember?"
"The last thing I remember," Alice said as she looked out the window at the people below, surrounded by the quantum realm. "I felt a ringing pain in my head, I remember that Kyle was there, too. I felt my mind getting shoved out of my body. I remember Malkin looking me in the eyes as she killed me."
There was a long moment of silence between them as Emily looked uncomfortable.
"I...was mainly talking about your powers." Emily said awkwardly, "but that's good to know too."
Alice chuckled a little bit at that humor. "I'm honestly happy to see you guys again." She then looked over to Chris and his armor. "But you've seriously gotta get out of that armor."
"Yeah, I'm not really sure how to get out of this. The Batman got it stuck on me, no idea how or why he decided to, but guess he wanted me to relive my greatest mistake." Chris says as he looked down at his arms.
"You know, we do have a room for something like that." Ava states as he approached them. "It can create and remove any armor: Nanotech, Vibranium, it can also create fabrics, armor and anything for you to wear."
"Wait, you have a room just for clothes?" Emily questions with a raised brow.
"Doesn't everybody?" Ava asks in a joking manner as she walks off to show them the way and they all follow.
Peter-616 has just shown Hiccup and Elsa a room that was big enough for the four of them and their dragons.
"And if you need anything, just give us a call. They might call you to the labs so we can find what specifically makes you a relic." Peter-616 tells the Dragon King.
"On behalf of my family, I thank you for your hospitality." Hiccup tells Peter.
"Just trying to make sure you and your family get home in one piece." Peter-616 tells him assuring with a smile.
"Director?" An agent walks over to Peter-616. "We're preparing to reenter the multiverse."
"All right, I'll be right there." Peter-616 promises and looks to the family. "Duty calls. I've got to go make sure everything goes down." He tells them and strolls off to the bridge.
On the bridge, the team, or who was left of it, were all together as they watched the Quantum Realm vanish and they enter the world of Earth-21.
"What have we got?" Peter-616 asks them.
"Well, with the new information we got off of Hiccup's blood, we determined his...whatever we call a relic person, what makes him a relic is coded down to his DNA." Cisco says as he looked over the information he got from the arrowhead and the blood.
"So, we were able to actually narrow down the areas as to where to find the relics, so we don't need to search the whole planet." Reed explains to him. "We got lucky the first few times; we shouldn't take our chances."
"Good. This is why I pay you people." Peter-616 states.
"We're getting paid?" Was the only thing that Cisco could focus on.
"So, where are we?" Peter-1 wonders.
Ava was looking over the information to the new territory they were in as everyone else looked out the window. "Looks to be-"
"Gotham." Bruce interrupted in shock as he looked out to the familiar city of his.
"Yeah, it's Gotham." Ava confirmed. "Home of heroes Batwoman and...Spider-Man."
"You're kidding." All Peter's state at once.
"Nope." Ava states as she uses one of the windows as a screen and shows a newspaper article of the first few sightings of Spider-Man and Batwoman. "Gotham's heroes after Batman's disappearance."
"What do you mean disappearance?" Bruce asks.
Ava decided to dig a little further and sees that there was in fact a Bruce Wayne on this world. "Seems one day Bruce Wayne of this world just up and vanished shortly after the disappearance of Batman and the death of the Joker. No way of contacting him. No contact with his family over the past seven years."
"Wait, family?" Bruce asks in confusion.
"Yeah, your family: an aunt, uncle, and three cousins. Jacob Kane, Catherine Hamilton, Kate Kane, Mary Hamilton, Beth Kane...and Peter Kane." Ava lists the Kane family bloodline.
"You're kidding." Peter-38 says as he takes a look for himself. "Peter Kane is Spider-Man."
"How do you know?" Medusa asks as Peter-38 shows a photo of Kate and Peter together and sees it's the same as their Kate and Peter when they were younger.
"Okay, why not?" Peter-616 gives up on the multiverse.
"I'll take this one." Bruce offers Peter and Ava. "I know the city."
"Okay, yeah, sure, Bruce. You know the city; you know where everything is. So, just go take a team of who you think will be the most qualified to help you down there." Peter-616 suppose as Bruce then marches off to find some heroes to help him out.
"No, like seriously, how much are we getting paid?" Cisco starts questioning.
Earth-21 : Gotham City
"Good morning, Gotham. This is a special announcement for a big day today as it has now officially been five years since our crime fighting, super heroic team: Batwoman and Spider-Man first put on the cowls and four years since the defeat of Alice and her Wonderland gang. Talk to me, Gotham. What are you doing to show your support for the city's heroes?" Vesper Talk asks as a hand reached over and smacked the snooze on the radio before turning over in bed, revealing to belong to the girlfriend of Spider-Man, Michelle Jones.
"Well, I can't speak for the city, but I have a special black and red surprise for you tonight." MJ promises him as she went to snuggle closer with her boyfriend who groans in lack of sleep.
"You know it's kinda creepy in the context of where the colors came from, considering the black is from, well, Batman and the red is from the family birthstone which I mentally seemed to have recognized." Peter reminds her.
"Hence why I never put it in context." MJ stated as she then dragged herself out of bed. "Okay, I gotta get going, and don't you have brunch with your sisters to get to?"
Peter groaned, not wanting to get out of bed. "I just got comfortable."
MJ rolled her eyes at her boyfriend before grabbing a pillow and smacking him in the face with it. "Come on. Get up."
Peter groans again as he did just as she says and climbs out of bed before going to get ready for the day. "All right. I'm getting up."
There was a knock at the door which MJ went and answered the door and came face to face with Beth Kane.
"Beth, hey, just got Pete out of bed." MJ tells her boyfriend's sister.
"Hey, MJ, you doing okay?" Beth asks with a smile.
"Better than my long-nights Dark Knight fighting boyfriend." MJ says just as Peter raced over to the door.
"Beth, ready to go?" Peter asks while straightening out his jacket and pecking MJ ok the cheek. "See you tonight, dear."
"Get out of here." MJ says playfully and pushes him out of their apartment before getting ready to leave herself to go have breakfast with her own family.
"Kate gonna meet us there?" Peter wondered.
"Yeah, I invited her, no idea if she'll show." Beth shrugs.
"You really think I'd miss it?" They then heard Kate say as they turned to see her leaning against the corner of the hallway. "How's it been living with your girl?"
"It's been going well." Peter says with an assuring smile. "Is Mary gonna meet us there?"
"Nah, she's held up at the shelter." Beth tells him.
BATTLEWORLD
Jedi Caitlin led the charge into the station as the away team, being Nia, Miles, Jack, and Barry all made their way through the station that was completely destroyed, with arrows, aliens and what looked to be alien blood acid everywhere.
Marching through the facility, they hear screaming and grunting and come across a kid wearing a purple shirt over a darker colored jacket and jeans and the same color hairband in her hair and the rest is in a bow behind her head while wearing purple tinted sunglasses while shooting Xenomorphs with a bow and arrow.
"Oh, hi." She greets the heroes with a smile casually. "What took you so long? Fighting aliens? Yeah, me too." More Xenomorphs come charging and one dropping from the ceiling. "Excuse me for a minute." She asks of them before spinning around and shooting several more arrows at the approaching aliens and uses a sword to slice off the head of the one dropping onto her.
"Who are you?" Jack asks in shock and shoots the approaching aliens.
"The name's Katherine Bishop. Call me Kate, from Blue Valley." Kate introduces herself as she shoots more arrows at the aliens. "Anyone have an escape plan from her?"
"Who's her?" Miles asks when the room suddenly light up and scared mostly everyone when a laser gate closes their exit.
"Is that you?" A robotic voice fills the room, causing all of the heroes to become defensive and get ready for a fight. "How did you escape from...? No, you're not them. You're just some more unwelcomed visitors."
"Them? More?" Barry asks. "There are others here?"
"None that I've seen." Kate informed him with an arrow raised in her bow.
"Who's the sexy woman talking?" Jack asks with his gun pointed at the cameras.
"Dude." Miles scoffs at him for that statement with a venom blast all charged and ready.
"Ma'am, we don't know anything about what's going on here, we just wanna be on our way, and we won't bother you." Barry tries to offer.
"Well, I kinda wanna bother her." Kate states. "This creep has been forcing me to fight these Alien monsters and complete her tests. For cake!"
"Did she say cake?" Nia asks in complete confusion.
"Cake? Why do they always want the cake?" The woman voice asks them.
"Wait, so you actually have a cake?" Caitlin asks the woman with her lightsaber out in a Jedi stance. "Why?"
"Listen, you can keep the cake, we just want out of here." Miles tells her.
"Yes. You can leave. But first...a test." She tells them, opening a door across from them.
"Where even are we?" Nia asks and notices the lights come on and they see a logo on the wall.
APERTURE
LABORATORIES
BATTLEWORLD : The Rig
The team waited for the others to return, no idea what to do to pass the time.
"How long do you think they'll be?" Jefferson asks the team.
"No idea." Harry answered. "Depends on if they even..." He didn't finish that statement when he looked down to his cup and noticed how it's shaking, the coffee inside rippling.
Sarge was in the front of the truck, waiting for the idiots to return when he noticed a giant shadow appearing.
"Is anyone getting Jurassic Park vibes right now?" Ralph asks them.
"I have a bad feeling about this..." Cisco whispers.
They then hear something and use the cameras to look and see something coming out of the ground, revealing what looked to be a large, gigantic, armored cephalopod.
"What the hell is that?" Jefferson asks.
They watch the creature crawl out of the ground and took notice of the truck, even though they were cloaked, and they could see how with the surrounding lighting of the apocalyptic city it had a black colorization, and six very long, bony, and lightly haired legs, each with two joints and ending with a claw with small spikes growing out of the first joints. It also has a plated mantle with ten tendrils and a pair of black eyes.
Sarge had a look of dread as the eyes and fear, recognizing the creature anywhere.
"Sarge, can that thing see us?" Morg'Ann asks as Sarge doesn't answers and puts the Rig on full throttle and quickly tries to outrun the monster which began to chase them.
"Sarge, what is it?!" Frankie asks.
"It's Scylla." Sarge answers in what they could only assume was dread and fear in his voice, which was a surprise on its own.
"Wait, Scylla? As in the mythical monster that kills sailors that came close to it?" Cisco clarified in complete confusion. "I thought it was just...well, a myth."
"You wanna tell that to the creature currently chasing us?!" Sarge asks him.
"How do you plan to outrun that thing?" Harry questions as he looked at the size of the monster on their tail.
"Like this!" Sarge says and activates something that Cisco quickly noticed to be an interdimensional extrapolator that he attached to the Rig.
"No! Wait!" Cisco cried in fear when Sarge pulled the lever, and the Rig vanishes just as the titan's one of many claws crushed just where the Rig previously was.
Earth-21
That night, back in Gotham City, Beth was leading Peter and Kate to her bar for a surprise. She told them there was a special surprise for them and she couldn't say anything about it.
"Beth, what are you hiding?" Kate finally asks.
"I'm not hiding anything." Beth tries her best to lie.
"Come on, Beth, we can easily tell you're lying." Peter told her as they walked into the bar and saw the lights were off. "Now what's going on?"
Beth still doesn't answer and just walks on over, somehow avoiding all the tables just as the lights are turned on and the two siblings flinch at the sudden light and when they open them, they were not prepared for what came next.
"SURPRISE!"
The two then adjusted to the sudden light and were shocked when they saw that the room was filled with the few people who knew of their secret. And they even noticed there were party favors everywhere and a banner above in red and black coloring.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
"What...is this?" Kate questions as Mary walks up and hands her a glass.
"It's the Spider-Man and Batwoman anniversary. You thought that we wouldn't wanna celebrate this?" Beth questioned with a laugh.
"A little." Peter admitted.
Helicarrier
Bruce had gotten together his team consisting of Barry, Cisco, Daisy, Hunter, Clint, Rick, Pietro, and Frost. Obviously, they also needed Emily if they wanted to rescue the newest Warrior, whoever it may be.
"Okay, I've made a newer and more persist way of finding the relic using this." Cisco says as he holds up a radar. "The more relics we find, the easier this becomes."
"Great." Chris says as he strolls up in a normal outfit, finally out of the Pahriah armor and now earring dark jeans, a dark blue T-shirt, sneakers, and a red hoodie. "This is getting easier with each reality we visit."
"And yet each reality gets stranger." Emily comments.
"Come on, this is Gotham. How strange can it get?" Alice asks them.
"Mind if I tagged along?" Ward asks as he approached the group. "I seriously need to get off of this ship before I get cabin fever."
"Yeah, we kinda mind." Cisco stated.
"What do you think I'm gonna do, Cisco? I can't exactly leave anywhere, if I did, I'd just be stuck here." Ward states.
"I don't know, but I kinda don't wanna give you the chance to do anything." Cisco states.
"Take him." Peter-616 says as he marches past. "He stays here, Ava might claw his throat."
"We sure that's a bad thing?" Hunter asks.
Gotham City
A tall man walks up on a bright background comes walking up to the screen with a wide smile on his face. "Hello. I'm Simon Krieger." He introduces himself before showing off what seems to be a dome built out of hexagons.
"What you're seeing is a Nuform Reactor. Once activated, this reactor will be able to supply enough energy to power all of Uptown Gotham. Now I'm sure you're thinking: 'Simon, how is that possible?' And the answer...Nuform." Then Simon dissolves and is replaced by a cylinder container with handles on both ends and a glowing blue sphere in the center.
"Just one canister of this revolutionary fuel source is enough to supply clean, safe energy for the next five hundred years." Simon continues to explain as the canister is shown being placed inside the half hexagon sphere and showing a blue sphere spreading from it and all above Gotham, followed by another Reactor's appearing and activating all around Gotham, followed by the planet.
"Soon, we will be opening reactors throughout Gotham, and then worldwide. Get ready for a planet powered by Nuform. Roxxon: we're here for you."
"I don't trust him." Peter says to his sister as they watch the commercial on the news.
"I prefer him over the Underground." Kate states as she finishes her drink.
"How about we agree both are annoying and wish they'd both go away?" Peter compromises for Kate.
"Eh, yeah, sure." Kate agrees and finishes her drink just as an alert goes off on their phones. "Looks like we're leaving the party early."
"Speaking of our super psychotic friends, it seems Mr. Freeze is attacking Elliot Center." Luke warns them.
"We're on it." Kate says as she and Peter race over to the cave to get their suits.
Batcave
The two heroes quickly get into their alter egos and make their way towards the Batmobile which was given a few upgrades over the years and was now all black, but the bat symbols were all painted red.
"You ever think that I'll ever be able to get a car?" Peter asks Kate almost out of the blue. "I mean, we've been doing this for five years, I think I deserve a car. Or even a motorcycle."
"You can swing, just get there. I'll meet you at the site." Kate says as she gets into the car and blasts off leaving Peter behind. "This is why Wonder Woman works alone."
Peter watches his sister blast out of the cave before he begins to make it out and swings as he took notice of lightning and ice beginning to form everywhere.
"Kate, I'd be careful. There's a lot of ice coming off from Elliot Center." Peter warns his sister as he swings and quickly gave the cops a hand who were surrounded by Underground.
Peter noticed they have some new gear and begins to question where they're getting this tech from.
"Spider-Man!" A female voice called from behind him, and Peter looks to see the GCPD is here and approached the Commissioner, Barbra Gordon.
"Commissioner Gordon." Peter greets her as the Batmobile comes up and Kate marches up.
"What have we got?" Kate asks.
"We can't break through the ice, it's getting stronger by the minute and if this continues, he'll freeze bomb the city." Gordon informs them.
"Keep your people back, we'll handle this." Kate says as she uses her grapple and yanks herself up near the top.
"What she said." Peter agrees and runs before shooting a web and pulls himself up to where Kate was, and they made their way up to meet Freeze when the ice above them began to break.
"Look out!" Peter grabs Kate and tries to grab onto the ice and that failed completely as the ice above broke the ice below them as they slid down and into the building.
"That was not part of the plan." Kate says as they quickly make their way through and ending up locating some of Freeze's first victims. "These poor people." She sighs in sadness.
"They didn't stand a chance." Peter agreed as they keep making their way through the building and see...Roxxon?
"What the hell are Roxxon doing here?" Peter asks.
"A question for another day. Freeze is our main problem." Kate reminds him.
"Yeah, you're right." Peter agreed as he sees an elevator shaft and sneak towards it as Kate follows. Once inside, the two use their webs/grapple to get up and see a cable.
"Guarantee that this led us to Freeze." Kate comments.
"Yeah, I think you're right." Peter says as his mask scans the cable, and it leads all the way up to the top of the tower. "I'll follow it outside; you follow it upward."
"Got it." Kate says and goes upwards through the elevator shaft as Peter crawls out and follows the cable.
Once the siblings reached the roof, they noticed what looked to be a ginormous version of Mr. Freeze's gun shooting at the sky.
"You brought those spiders of yours?" Kate asks Peter as they fight through the cold and wind to reach the gun.
"They're called bug implants." Peter corrected her.
They were referring to Peter's gadgets that were designed to attach themselves to any type of devices and will take down its system by inserting a virus.
"But aren't spider's arachnids?" Kate reminds Peter as he places them on the weather machine and let them do their thing.
"Just let me have..." Peter was going to reply when he sensed something and quickly tackled Kate as a beam of solid ice hits the device.
They get back up and look to face Mr. Freeze who has apparently upgraded his gadgetry considering he's flying in on an ice shooting jet pack and was carrying a gigantic cold gun.
"Get away from my storm engine." Freeze warns them.
"That's what you're calling it?" Peter asks as he and Kate both get up.
"You wanna get out of here, Freeze. You don't wanna be here when this thing goes off." Kate warns him.
"Irrelevant. I already have what I need. A storm has risen over Gotham. Nothing can stop it!" Freeze promises.
"We'll see about that." Peter states as he and Kate race over to fight him as Freeze begins to blast at them.
Down below, Gordon is keeping everyone away as the blasts of ice come beaming around the sky, followed by chunks of ice falling around them.
"We need everyone to keep a distance!" Commander Kane tells his Crows, and they begin to keep the citizens back, not noticing there was a chunk about to crush him when Barbra tackled him before it could crush him.
"You okay, sir?" Barbra asks as she helps him stand up.
"I'm fine." Kane promises as he stands up and looks to the roof and watches as an enormous explosion goes off and the ice quickly begins to melt into water, and the water just begins dissolving.
The two of them become a bit worried just when Freeze, all wrapped up in both grapple rope and webbing was tossed down onto a police car, shattering the roof.
The two heroes then leaped down to the two of them.
"All wrapped up and ready for delivery to the Asylum." Peter told the two as he dropped and dangled his legs off the car.
"Nice work." Kane tells them when they see someone else approaching and notice that it's Roxxon coming in and start aiming their weapons at their own men.
"Guys. Wow." Simon Krieger himself laughs as he approaches the heroes and head of the GCPD and the Crows. "I mean, just wow." He then holds his hand out to the heroes. "Simon Krieger. Head of Roxxon Energy."
The heroes don't even move or register his hand.
"Okay, I get it. Gotta keep up appearances." Krieger raises his hands in surrender. "I wanna thank you both for cleaning up these Underground. They hijacked our trucks and stole our gear."
"I don't remember a report filed on that." Barbra comments.
"Ah, we were getting around to it. But it looks as if you took care of it already." Krieger states and gets handed a phone. "Looks like duty calls. But hey, great meeting you. Future's looking bright."
The heroes still don't say a word and just make their escape when nobody was looking.
"Think that-" Barbra was saying when she looked and saw the heroes are gone.
"They do that a lot." Kane assures her and the Crows then arrest Freeze and get him ready for processing.
Kate and Peter watch everything from a distance and are confused as to what Krieger told them.
"How could someone steal from Roxxon?" Peter wonders. "I'm pretty sure that they would report something like that immediately."
"Seems that Roxxon's trying to take down the Underground, but it seems the Underground are just targeting them. But why would Roxxon break out Freeze to destroy the city?"
Suddenly, their conversation was cut short due to the skies suddenly exploding and the heroes look to see a giant red portal open and swirl around the Wayne Tower.
"We better check that out." Kate states as she uses her grapple and escapes, and Peter takes off swinging and notices someone with their camera recording him with a smile.
The kid in question is a familiar character known as Miles Morales: Lover of all things superhero related.
"Yo, Miles! We gotta go." His friend, Ganke Lee calls out and gets Miles' attention as he puts his phone away and followed Ganke.
"Dude, I got some epic footage of that fight!" Miles says and shows his friend what he saw.
Just a few minutes before that, the team have made it to the ground and have been following Bruce in his Batman outfit and were trying to catch up with him as they were all also wearing their superhero outfits.
"Ramon, you have anything?" Bruce asks in his Batman voice.
"You do know that it's not necessary for you to use that voice with all of us, right?" Cisco asks him as he uses his breaches to keep up. Doing more research from Drowned, even though she wouldn't speak, they learned enough to know that they couldn't track the breaches he opens.
"I don't exactly wanna give away my identity." Bruce stated.
"Dude, the Batman of this reality is gone, and you look nothing like him." Pietro states as he sped over and leaned against a pole on the roof.
"Admit it, it's just a force of habit, isn't it?" Clint told Bruce who looks unimpressed by the team's statements.
Suddenly, the radar began going ecstatic on Cisco as he looked and saw it was picking up energy everywhere, beginning to form. Thunder began to strike as they looked to see the portal opening up above Wayne tower.
"Feel like that's where we need to go." Rick took a wild guess.
"I have no idea." Cisco admits and sees that there's no new reading on the radar. "But it apparently seems to be coming from that way." He says as he points in the opposite direction.
"And it could either be a Dark Knight or be another Warrior. But a portal that big means that this one has an extreme level of energy." Emily warns them.
"Here, let me take it." Ward says and reaches over to Cisco who keeps it away from him.
"Ha! Yeah, right." Cisco scoffs. "I'm not gonna let you out of my sights."
"Cisco, there's nowhere to go, we need the powered individuals if that's a Dark Knight. I can find a relic." Ward promises and takes the relic scanner and looks around. "Mind giving me a breach to the ground?"
Cisco sighs and sees that he has a point and opens a portal for him down to the ground...a few feet off the ground, causing him to drop face first onto the street.
"Never said I'd let him down gently." Cisco shrugs to Hunter.
"You two done?" Daisy asks them as Cisco looks to Pietro.
"Hey, Speedy, mind watching him for us?" Cisco asks the speedster.
"Yeah, sure. Better than fighting another bat." Pietro guesses as he speeds off to follow Ward.
The portal above Wayne Tower kept growing as Kate and Peter beat the others there as the giant breach stretched out from the sky and swirled in front of the window.
"Luke, you seeing this?" Kate asks.
"You mean the gigantic portal that's opened up over Gotham? Yeah, I noticed!" Luke replied as he's running all over the cave trying to get some answers.
Peter watches straight through the eye of the storm as he sees someone, or something was swirling through and inside of it and then a man came hurling out in a flash of lightning.
The man that came through was Kyle McDermott, the speedster of Earth-S. He was trained by Barry Allen in the timeline before Crisis to become a speedster hero.
"Ow, my head hurts." Kyle groaned as he suddenly felt much better and began to pull himself off of the ground when he grabbed his head and he felt something flashing through his mind.
"Ow my head hurts." groaned Kyle as he stood up.
Barry Allen came over and helped him up. "Who on earth are you?"
"Kyle McDermott," He groaned as he pointed at each of everyone in the room, "and your Barry Allen, Iris West, Caitlin Snow, and Cisco Ramon."
"I was wondering when they would send you." said Cisco as he ran over to Kyle.
Kyle shakes himself free of whatever that was and was actually the only one out of all the Warriors so far to actually come back with all of his memories and looks to see Batwoman and Spider-Man in a defensive mode, ready to strike the intruder.
"Who are you?" Peter-21 asks him.
Kyle looks confused as he faced the heroes. "Hi...my name is Kyle. Kyle McDermott, I'm the fastest man alive. And I think I'm gonna need your help."
Ward was marching through the streets and keeping an eye on the scanner for anything to come up.
"So..." Someone said, causing Ward to act fast and turn to the voice and aims a gun he snuck off of the carrier towards what he had to assume to be was another Dark Knight. "...back to being someone's attack dog, Grant?"
This Dark Knight wore an outfit similar to both Jessica's and Bruce's as if someone merged a Green Lantern and a Batman. His mask was one for Batman, but his outfit was a mixture of bright green and of dark material, followed by the two symbols of the Green Lantern and Batman mixed together.
"Well, I guess you're the villian of the week?" Ward asks without losing his aim. "Let me guess: Bat Lantern?"
The Bat just snarled at him and raised his ring up. "The name's Dawnbreaker." He then uses his ring to yank the gun out of his reach and keeps him still by creating anchors on his feet. "And I have to congratulate you and your team for how far you've come. Defeating both Grim and Drowned. That's something that isn't done so easily."
"It wasn't really me; it was more the others." Ward admitted. "They don't really see me as a member. More as an expendable."
"We can help you out with that." Dawnbreaker promises him.
"What do you mean?" Ward asks as the chains vanish.
"We aren't the villian here. We just want to save our worlds." Dawnbreaker informs Ward. "Our realities are dying. We just want to survive. Why do your realities get to live and not our own?"
"If you're trying to find my sympathetic side, you won't find anything there." Ward promises him.
"I know, there's nothing that I can say to get you onto our side." Dawnbreaker assures him. "But I know there's something I can offer."
"And what's that?" Ward asks.
"Kara." Dawnbreaker states, causing Ward to look surprised and shocked. "We can bring her back. We can give you everything you've ever wanted."
Ward feels there's a catch and doesn't know what to think or do. "What do you want?"
"First, Drowned to be set free." Dawnbreaker lists his demands. "Her trident to be retuned...then all the relics you've currently collected."
"Why would you do this for me?" Ward wonders.
Dawnbreaker smiles and places a hand on his shoulder. "I know how it feels to lose someone. I watched my parents getting gunned down for no reason. And no matter what world I go to, they're always gunned down. I miss them. I couldn't take it anymore. I didn't want to be Bruce Wayne. I didn't want to be Green Lantern. Standing in front of a lantern...but feeling submerged in shadow. Like I never left the cave under my mom and dad's house, with the darkness, and the bats. So, I became...The Dawnbreaker."
Ward thinks and doesn't exactly think that these guys are trustworthy enough to do all his demands. "Why can't you just go and do all that yourself?"
"Director Parker has been planning for this ever since the Crisis on Infinite What If's. He's created the ship to stop anything from alternate universes that he doesn't allow on to be directed off of the ship. An impenetrable shield protecting the Helicarrier, he wasn't taking any chances this time around." Dawnbreaker explains to Ward. "As long as he's out of his universe, his ship is the most protected thing in all reality." He then looks to his ring that begins blinking. "Gotta go. Think about it." He asks of Ward and flies off just as Ward is sped off and kidnapped by Pietro.
Pietro sped the two of them off until stopping in an alleyway and sent Ward flying down the alley as Pietro just goes and leans against the wall with his hands crossed and watches him try to get back up.
"Did you have to be so rough?" Ward asks Pietro as he got back up and wiped off the dirt and saw he landed in a puddle.
"Did you actually not take a shot at a Dark Knight when you had a chance?" Pietro asks him.
"Yeah, right, I was supposed to shoot a guy with the power to kill me in seconds." Ward scoffs and sees Pietro kept his gun. "Can I have that back?"
"Nah, I don't think we can trust you." Pietro states as he spun the gun on his finger.
"Why? Now, we have an upper hand against these guys. We know they can't enter the Helicarrier." Ward states. "We just need to find where the others are and hope we can get to the relic before he finds it."
"Right..." Pietro scoffs in disbelief on what he plans on doing.
"Well, what am I gonna do if you're going to be watching me the whole time?" Ward asks and Pietro knows he needs to find the others and speeds off with Ward.
"You're from another universe?" Kate asks Kyle as she and Peter have brought him down to the Batcave.
"Technically, a parallel multiverse." Kyle corrects her.
"What's the difference?" Peter asks.
Kyle sighs and looks over to a whiteboard and picks up a marker. "Hang on. I saw someone explain this once." He then draws several small circles and draws a bigger circle around them and then draws some more small circles and then repeats it on the left.
"Now, this is your reality." He draws a bat symbol on one of the small circles. "It's one of the many dozens of realities, and over here is my reality." He gestures to the other circle and draws a lightning bolt. "Now, I don't know how I came here, but I...I somehow gained my memories back, maybe because I have a connection to the Speed Force and was even brought here through it. The Speed Force has been known for creating kinda sort of carbon copies of the speedsters they create. Except all it really does is just keep evil speedsters alive." He mumbled the last part to himself.
"So, I guess while I was pulled out of my universe, the Speed Force gave me everything back: my powers, my memories, except upstairs is still kinda wonky." He admits while banging the marker on his head. "Memories are out of place, and my two realities and lives are still mixed into one another. It's like accidentally mixing pancake batter with cake mix."
"Who does that?" Luke asks.
"Nobody." Kyle says, feeling like that was obvious. "It's just an expression. But you get what I'm saying. I don't belong here."
"Well, what's the last thing you remember on your reality?" Beth wonders.
Kyle thinks back and remembers everything: the screaming, the skies filled with balls of fire reigning down on everything in sight. "My whole world...was destroyed." Kyle remembers in sadness.
An alert goes off on the computers and Luke takes a look on what's going on and sees it's a security breech.
"Is that...?" Kate looks very confused as to what they're seeing.
"Bruce?" Peter asks as they see the team has arrived.
Back on the Helicarrier, Peter and Teresa were in the labs of the ship and was looking over how her suit pack works.
"These wings out of carbon fiber?" Peter-2 asks Teresa in amazement.
"Yeah, I thought it would help with the rigidity flexibility ratio." Teresa explains to him. "Turns out I was right."
"I gotta say, this is awesome." Peter states and looks over the packet.
Teresa smiles and is kinda happy how she has impressed her brother. Growing up she knew he was a genius, similar to her and their parents but she wondered if he would see her as a genius or just as a little sister, luckily it seems it's the ladder.
"Yeah, it also has an weapons' system that includes two collapsible Icer pistols that are stored at the holster position at the hips." Teresa gestures to the button that's on her outfit's hip area.
"So, what's your code name?" Peter asks his sister. "Like...what do they call you on mission? Like Look out, here comes...!"
"Some of the guys in S.H.I.E.L.D. call me Ms. Penguin...but if you call me that, I'll shoot you." Teresa warns Peter with a stern look and causes him to laugh at his sister.
"We can work on something for you." Peter promises her.
Speaking of their said father, Reed was watching their interacting and decided to take up on Peter's advice and approaches the two of them.
The two then suddenly went completely silent as he approached them.
"I feel that we need to talk." Reed tells his kids.
"Do we?" Peter asks. "I feel being abandoned is a good open and close case."
"I second that." Teresa agreed. "You know, we didn't have the chance to actually grow up together because of you. If you just stayed, we could've grown up like actual siblings and not need to be introduced in the middle of a battlefield."
Reed just scoffs with a smile on his face. "You sound exactly like your mother." That broke the tension a little as the siblings lightly chuckled. "You think I didn't think about my decision to leave you two? I thought you died." He looks to Teresa. "I searched for you through the rubble of the base and there was nothing...I failed to keep you and your mother safe." He says with genuine tears in his eyes as he looks towards Peter. "I thought it'd be better if I didn't add the last of my kids to my line of failures. I wanted to protect you. I can't change what I've done...but I'm hoping that the two of you will be opened to accept me back into your lives?"
Teresa looks sorry for her father and she knows he genially thought she was dead, similar to what Peter and everyone else in his life thought over the years. She feels he deserves a chance to try and make up for the lost time.
Peter on the other hand doesn't know how to feel. His father had the chance to return to his family but decided not to. But his reason was because he didn't want Peter to become like the rest of their family.
"I think...we might need some time." Peter spoke more for himself if anything, but Teresa did agree.
"Take all the time you need. I'm not going anywhere." Reed promises them and strolls off.
Back in the city, the team has just arrived at Wayne tower and started scanning for anything Dark Knight or Warrior related.
"Guys, I'm getting some familiar readings in here." Frost informed them and Emily recognizes the signal.
"The Speed Force?" Emily asks before knowing exactly who's here. "Kyle?"
Suddenly, a flash of lightning comes running through and stops in front of Emily. "Emily?"
"Oh my god, Kyle!" Emily squeals and pulled her friend into a hug which he easily returned. "It's so good to see you."
"So, it was a Warrior." Cisco guesses when Kyle notices him.
"Cisco!" Kyle cheers and goes to give him a hug.
"Wait, what's happening?" Cisco asks in confusion as Kyle gives the confused man a hug.
"I'm so happy to see you guys again!" Kyle states and looks to see Crystal Frost. "Caitlin?"
"That's my other half." Frost informed him. "Also, I think you're thinking of the wrong us."
Kyle looks confused but takes a guess it's a multiverse thing and looks back to Cisco. "I just can't believe this! It's been so long!"
"Who are you?" Cisco asks, completely confused.
"It's me. Kyle?" Kyle tries to remind Cisco. "Kyle McDermott. Speedster? I worked with you for years."
"Kyle, don't you remember Crisis?" Emily reminds her friend who took a minute before remembering everything that happened during it.
"Oh...Oh. OH!" Kyle finally remembers everything and looks back to Cisco. "Right. He...and I...wait, is Chris here?"
"Actually, he's on the Helicarrier." Emily says.
"We have a Helicarrier?" Kyle asks in shock.
"It belongs to Peter Parker actually." Emily informs him.
"Spider-Kid?" Kyle asks.
"Well, one of his doppelgängers, not the Peter we met." Emily corrected herself.
Just then, the elevator to the Batcave opened up as Peter and Kate exit the cave and into the office.
"Well, this is going to take some explaining." Rick could tell.
"And this is where the cafeteria is." Kara gives Elsa the tour of the Helicarrier.
"Quite the ship you have here." Elsa compliments.
"Well, it's not mine or even ours, it's more Peter's...not my husband Peter, but a different one." Kara says when Peter-1 walks out of the café.
"I have no idea how they come up with half of this stuff, but the coffee machine looks as if it can replace a fridge." Peter-1 comments and walks off.
Elsa looks confused and turns back to Kara. "Yeah, there's at least four different versions of him walking around this ship."
"Doesn't it get confusing?" Elsa wonders.
"Not as long as you focus on their outfits." Kara promises.
"Yeah, that's another thing. Does everyone in your realities dress like this?" Elsa gestures to Kara's Supergirl outfit.
"No, not really. I mean, the people in my life kinda all do dress in similar outfits, but it's mainly to keep our identities a secret." Kara explains and to give an example, she quickly sped off into her Kara Danvers attire, glasses, and all. "This is how I look on a regular basis. I only wear my other outfit when I'm rescuing others."
"Why the glasses?" Elsa wonders.
"Well, originally, they helped with my powers. When you can see through solid material without a problem, sometimes you want a break." Kara explains and takes off her glasses. "They're lined with lead so that my powers don't work." She then looks down to Elsa's outfit and notices her feet and she's only wearing almost sandal like shoes. "You know, this whole floor is made out of steel. It's kinda cold on feet."
"Don't worry." Elsa assures her. "The cold never bothered me anyway." She promises and strolls in for some food for her and her kids while her husband is with the lab team last they heard.
"She did not just say that." Peter-38 refuses to believe.
"What, worried she might start upstaging you on puns and quips?" Kara asks with a smile as she turned to face him.
"Please, my doppelgängers would have more of a problem with it than me." Peter-38 promises her.
"So, there's an evil Batman. And he wants to destroy the universe. And has been sending out Dark Knights to collect relics?" Luke recaps as everyone has gathered inside Wayne Tower office.
"And these relics are specific things only found in one reality?" Peter-21 asks.
"And you're all running around realities trying to find them first?" Kate finishes.
"Wow, and I thought our past adventures were crazy." Kyle commented.
"We do have a way to track them, it's just we gave it to someone while we came to check out the portal. It was messing with the scanners radar." Cisco informed them.
"Okay, then where is it?" Kate wonders.
"We gave it to one of the others with us: Grant Ward." Bruce tells them.
"He was the only expendable one." Cisco admits, wondering where he and Pietro are just when a gust of wind comes in and Ward is sent skidding across the room and smashes his head against the desk.
"Couldn't you have been gentler?" Ward groans as he tries to get back up.
Pietro just leaned against the wall in anger for what he saw.
"Okay, I need to make this place speedster proof." Luke confirmed.
"What's going on?" Clint asks, confused as to what happened.
"The Dark Knight is a Batman, Green Lantern hybrid named Dawnbreaker." Pietro informed them. "And he offered our little friend here a place on their team if he gets them everything they need to destroy the universe."
"You really think I want to side with the people who destroyed my world?" Ward asked.
"Double crossing is kind of your M.O." Cisco said, his voice dropping with anger.
"My loyalty was never to HYDRA; it was to Garret." Ward defended himself while rubbing his shoulder. "Do you really think I wanted to betray you guys?"
"I don't want to hear it!" Cisco shouted as he marched up to Ward. "You threw Fitz-Simmons into the bottom of the ocean. You nearly killed Barry while he was in his coma, and you held a gun to my head. You betrayed every one of us, you deluded son of a bitch! So, let me make one thing clear: you are not, and you will never be on our team!"
"I can't believe this." Ward said with a sigh.
"I saw you with Dawnbreaker," Pietro stated, "and if any one of those things they said about you is true, then I was smart to bring you in."
"He said he could bring back Kara!" Ward shouted.
"Who in the world is Kara?" Emily asked as Cisco and Ward stared at each other in silence.
"She was Ward's..." Cisco paused trying to think of the right words, "girlfriend or something."
"What happened to her?" Rick wondered.
"He put three bullets in her stomach." Cisco said, causing the entire room to go silent.
"And I thought our world was messed up." Peter told Kate who agreed with him.
"When was this?" Lance asked, this being the first he heard of it.
"When we attacked Ward and Garrett at Cybertech." Cisco explained to the team. "His girlfriend was wearing a cyber mask and took the face of Agent May. She fooled everyone, including Ward."
Ward didn't move a muscle and just stared off into the distance at the memory flooding in as if it were yesterday.
"Is that the only death you feel bad about?" Cisco asked and watches as Ward doesn't respond for a moment, but then he cocked his gun.
"He tried to use Kara as leverage," Ward said with an angry coldness in his voice. "He tried to turn me against my allies, and he thought I was stupid enough to take his offer."
"So, you're sticking with us?" Frost asked, a little surprised.
"No," Ward said and looks towards her with a cold look. And that's coming from Frost, "I'm going to kill him. Then I'm going to kill this Batman Who Laughs. You guys can help if you want." Ward got up and marched over to the door. "Let's go get this son of bitch."
Before anyone could try and stop him, the tracker started to bleep in his hands. Everyone stopped arguing and watched as it led them to a stand with a knife.
"What's this?" Frost asks and picks up the knife and notices the red ruby on the front of it.
"That was Alice's knife." Kate told them, becoming sad at the memory of her sister.
"She was our psychotic sister who was attacking the city and we stopped by...strange experiences." Peter confesses.
"That's it?" Clint asks and picks up the knife. "I was kinda expecting more after our last world."
Hunter just walked over and took this as a win. "Let's just take it and-"
Just then, the base then explodes as they look and see that the hole left in the entire half of the building was destroyed, sending everything down into the cave as Daisy quickly uses her powers to send the rubble away.
Dawnbreaker has arrived.
Helicarrier
Peter-616 was keeping an eye on everything that was happening when he noticed the explosion that went off over the city. He becomes fearful as he grabbed the speaker
"Team, the Dark Knights have arrived! Everyone, get the Quinjet's prepped for takeoff!" Peter demands everyone.
The entire Helicarrier then suddenly came alive as the alarms started blaring and the entire crew ran at towards the jets and got them prepared for takeoff.
"Hey, what's going on?" Pat asks some of the agents.
"The Dark Knight has been spotted." An agent told him before grabbing a pilot helmet and racing off.
"Yo. Dugan." Ava called out for him. "The guys from your Earth talk about how you used to fight in a giant robot."
"Yeah, S.T.R.I.P.E. Why?" Pat confirmed.
"Good, so you'll be able to use this." Ava says and gestures for him to follow her.
Pat followed Ava into the hanger and was shocked when he saw a gigantic polished, brand new Hulkbuster armor, ready for battle. Upgraded to turn into a backpack and weighs the same as a grocery bag, thanks to nanotechnology.
"That's awesome." Pat admits.
BATTLEWORLD
The team, consisting of Nia, Miles, Jack, Katherine, and Barry, were all in one of the test chambers in Aperture Laboratories.
"I don't exactly get what we're doing here." Nia states as Miles had his hand through a portal that led to one across the room and was doing hand gestures in them.
"This is trippy." Miles states as he puts his hand through and places his hand to wrap around places it on the surface as to grab it through.
Barry did his best to phase through the walls, but it's as if this place is built out of something, he can't even begin to phase through it.
"Okay. So, it's a puzzle." Barry sighs. "Should be simple enough. We're all smart enough to solve this."
"Easy for you to say, genius." Jack scoffs. "We need to get out of here. They might think we're dead or in trouble and might come to find out themselves."
"Nah, Sarge wouldn't do that." Miles states. "He's more likely to keep moving and leave us behind."
"You should get better friends." Katherine told him as she tried to solve this test. "Okay, there's a button up there. One on that platform. Let's see what they do."
"I'll get the one up there." Miles offered as he ran and leaped onto the wall and crawls up.
"Wait. How are you doing that?" The woman asked them through the walls as Miles crawled up and pushes the button.
They look and notice the doorway has two checkmarks over them and they've activated one of them.
"I'll get this one." Nia says as she quickly created a rope with her powers and climbed up to hit the button.
"That's not how that works." The lady continues to object their use of powers to escape.
Nia just ignores her protests and pushes the button, and the door opens for them.
"This looks like it's going to be an easy task." Jack scoffed as he marched through and they all take the elevator to the next test.
"You're doing very well...that is to say I think that you were cheating in that last test."
"Hey!" Katherine complained to the voice.
"Cheating is wrong and, ultimately, the only person who loses when you cheat is yourself."
Suddenly, a platform rises, and turrets appear.
"What the hell are those?" Jack asks as they suddenly open fire and take him down as the others all duck for cover and Caitlin used her lightsaber to stop them from hitting her.
"That dude didn't just die, did he?" Katherine asks out of shock as they watched as Jack took a second before gasping awake only to be shot down again. "What the hell?"
"He dies and comes back to life." Barry tells her and speeds in to punch the turrets but ends up only breaking his arm in the process and speeds back to his hiding place. "Okay...didn't think that through."
"Hey! Dicks!" They all hear a familiar call out as someone marches over to the turrets and just up straight smacks them, sending them flying into the pools of toxic water.
The team look shocked to see the one and only Jessica Jones was here, in Aperture Science...wearing a jumpsuit with their name and logo.
"Jessica?" Barry questions while holding his broken wrist.
"Jessica!" Nia was so happy to see her.
"What the hell took you guys so long?!" Jessica asks them.
"Hey, in our defense, we didn't know this place existed. You can thank baby Hawkeye here we even noticed this place." Jack states as he groans and gets back up on his feet.
"Who's this guy?" Jessica asks, looking to the others and pointing to Jack.
"Some immortal dude who saved us from walking tanks with plungers and eggbeaters." Miles informed her.
"What the hell did I miss while I was here?" Jessica questions.
"While on the subject of here, what are you wearing?" Nia asks, looking over Jessica's attire and jumpsuit.
"Well, after I was hit by that wave, me and Kate ended up here." Jessica explains. "After about the tenth chamber, my outfit became completely destroyed and full of bullets and needed to wear something. Took this off some hangers and corps."
"Wait, Batwoman's here, too?" Barry asks.
"Yeah, we got separated by the chambers." Jessica stated as they walked over to the wall, grabs it with both hands and yanks the platform off their hinges.
"You obviously have abilities that are not listed in my database and are using them to complete the tests. In other words, you are cheating."
"Oh, shut the hell up, GLaDOS." Jessica demanded and marched on down the halls.
"GLaDOS?" Caitlin asks in confusion.
"It's what she said she was called." Jessica said and led the way. "I know a way out of here, but we need to find Kate, not to mention that stupid voice."
Earth-21 : Wayne Tower
Daisy was working quickly as she kept both the destruction of Wayne Tower and the power of Dawnbreaker from getting to them.
Cisco quickly opened a breach and was holding a portal open to evacuate everyone as the speedsters use their powers to get them through.
Daisy quickly dodges an incoming boulder Dawnbreaker created and sends a double powered quake his way and sent him flying away.
"What the hell is with you? I thought that Green Lanterns were supposed to be the good guys!" Daisy asks as she keeps sending blasts of her powers towards him.
"I am NOT a Green Lantern!" Dawnbreaker informed her, sending a giant wave of green fire at her, and was immediately saved by Pietro who sped in at the last second. "With darkness black, I choke the light! No brightest day escapes my sight! I turn the dawn into midnight! Beware my power...Dawnbreaker's Might!"
Before he could do anything else, he gets hit in the back with a batarang and looks to see it came from Batwoman. Quickly switching targets, Dawnbreaker turned and created a laser to attack her.
Kate quickly worked fast and used her grapple gun to escape the beam, causing it to hit the building she was on and ended up sending rubble toppling.
While his back was turned, Peter Kane leaped as far as he could and punched Dawnbreaker in the back, causing him to become incisively more furious as he creates a giant flyswatter and smacks Peter in through several buildings and even landed headfirst onto the side of a dumpster.
"Insects." Dawnbreaker scoffs just as the S.H.I.E.L.D. Quinjet's come flying in. "Things just got a little bit more exciting."
"Stand down, now!" The man inside of the Quinjet says and aims a machine gun at the man.
Dawnbreaker notices more Quinjet's flying in and aiming all of their weapons at him. "You really think that a machine gun can stop-" He was about to start monologuing and was immediately stopped by a rocket fist and sent him plummeting.
Once he got back up, he looked to see that it was Pat inside of the Hulkbuster armor.
"I gotta say, I see why Tony loved this thing." Pat admits.
"How many of you are there?" Dawnbreaker asks when he notices a shining light behind him and turned to see a tornado of fire and quickly formed a forcefield around him as he looked to see that it came from Hiccup who was riding Toothless and using the powers of a Typhoomerang. "Looks like you made some new friends."
Peter-38 came up blasting him as Supergirl punches him and is sending him flying down the street, his head digging into the street and is grabbed by Ghost Rider who whipped his chain around his leg and threw him into the air before slamming him back into the street.
Dawnbreaker worked fast, creating an air-gun, sending Robbie flying through Gotham. "Okay...I'm done playing." He then begins to try to get back into the air, only to be stopped yet again, this time by Joey as he used a Binding Spell to wrap around his torso.
"You're not getting away!" Joey promised.
As the fighting continued, Peter-616 found Batwoman and Spider-Man of this reality and quickly made it over to them.
"Where's the relic?!" Peter asks of them, even though their attention is more on the fight that has just started between Dawnbreaker and everyone.
"Uh...they said it was Alice's knife." Kate remembered, getting her head together.
"Where's the knife?" Peter-616 asked them.
Peter Kane reached into his pocket in his suit and pulled it out and held it out for him to take it.
Dawnbreaker then looked and notices them exchanging the knife and quickly grabbed it using his ring, but before he could pull it to him, he was stopped by Jessica coming in and punches him using her ring to create a gigantic fist and sends him flying.
Dawnbreaker however was gaining a resistance from the constant punching, only to be attacked in the back by arrows coming in flying past.
"How many of you heroes are there?!" Dawnbreaker questions in anger and disgust.
As several arrows came at him from his front, Bruce threw batarangs to try and keep him off balance.
"His creations are as strong as his will. Make him weak, the weaker his power." Jessica tells them.
"Anyone got any ideas how to do that?" MJ asks them as Rick picks up a truck and toss it to Dawnbreaker and MJ lit it on fire midair.
Dawnbreaker immediately dodged it only to be attacked by Carol Danvers and Supergirl, both blasting at him with photon blasts and heat vision.
"Hey, what about speak and spell?" Pietro asks, looking over to Black Bolt.
"No, we can't." Crystal told him before sending blasts of lightning towards Dawnbreaker and ducking for cover. "His voice is too powerful; he'd destroy the whole block."
"God, a powerful weapon that's too powerful to use." Teresa sighs in annoyance and refills her pistols and then gets up before starting to shoot him down, getting nowhere.
"Are there any other weaknesses we can exploit?" Riri asks as she shoots Dawnbreaker with all of her arsenal only for him to stab straight through her arc reactor and causes her suit to malfunction. "Oh, come on!" She was then punched by Dawnbreaker who sent her flying into the engine of a Quinjet, knocking them both out of the sky.
"Uh...The-the Guardians mentioned...yellow? Yellow!" Jessica remembers. "They mentioned fear is our weakness, yellow is the color of fear. Everything and anything yellow."
"Seriously? Yellow?" Cisco asks in confusion. "Anything yellow?"
"No, wait, I think I've got a plan." Kyle promises and looks to the team. "I'm gonna need a few extra hands."
"What's the plan?" Scott asks as Kyle starts coming up with it.
Dawnbreaker sees he has a second and quickly flies down to grab the knife and inspects it. "What makes you so special?"
"I'd put that down if I were you!" He heard the unmistakable voice of Grant Ward call out as he turns and sees him aiming a gun at him.
"If you wanted to shoot me in the back, should've done it while I had my back turned." Dawnbreaker informed him as he turned to face him. "You can reconsider, you know? I might've hidden a tracker on you to find the relic for me, but we would treat you like a brother."
"As long as I do what you say." Ward scoffs. "I'll never be put on the leash again."
Dawnbreaker sighs and raises his hands before he stopped using his ring and shows he's not gonna do anything and Ward keeps his gun raised for now. "You think we like doing this? That we like destroying worlds? We're doing this because we want to live. If we don't, we all die."
As he kept going on, a breach opened behind him and Wanda, Joey, Constantine, Alice, and Barry step out of it.
"It's survival of the fittest. That's what Battleworld is supposed to explain. All you heroes have some code: No one dies, everyone lives, some garage like that. But what exactly is the point? You protect the weak, only for them to die the next day. It's chaos. That's all you lives are in one simple word. Chaos. When you people gain abilities, you wanna use them for good. But once other people, normal, hardworking people get them, they use it to start chaos: Electro, Shocker, Kraven, the Rhino. Give people with no morals power and they will always use it. And if I won't prove it to you, then there will be others just as powerful as me...if not, more powerful than me."
Ward looks at where they're at: Wanda on the roof, Joey hiding and ready to strike, Constantine seems to be drawing something on his head and using what looks to be a magic circle getting ready to be formed.
Barry has his body sparking with electricity and he sees another speedster off in the distance.
"You're right. Survival of the fittest." Ward agreed and looked to the others, and they strike.
Wanda acted first, quickly using her powers to block him from closing his fist so he can't use his ring. Joey and Alice work just as fast and uses the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak to bind his hands apart and keep his ring stuck.
Barry ran up and started to quickly begin running around Dawnbreaker, causing his electricity to bounce off of him and shocking Dawnbreaker, keeping his concentration off of his power. Constantine was using a spell to keep him stuck in the bubble and hold him down.
Kyle watches the whole thing from a distance and sees that this is where he comes in. Working up all of his energy, he hopes that he remembers how to do this before racing, running as fast as he could, feeling every beat of the Speedforce pumping back through his veins.
For years, he's felt as if a part of him was missing. As if there was something inside of him that was meant to be there, but he never knew what it was. And now he knew exactly what has been missing, he's been missing this. His abilities. His beliefs have been returned. And now he promises not to fail again. Never to allow another universe to fall like he did his.
This world. This universe. This time nothing falls.
Kyle summons the Speedforce inside of him, ready for the biggest blast he can muster, and speeds right past the bounded Dawnbreaker before making a U-Turn. Summoning all of the energy coursing into his veins, every bolt of red and yellow lightning and sends it flying straight towards the Dawnbreaker.
The lightning hits him, weakening both his powers and his body, rendering him unconscious.
"Whoo!" Kyle cheers in victory as he comes to a stop, still bouncing back and forth, shaking the hand that had just thrown the final punch before noticing his jacket is on fire. "Oh, shoot!" And then starts to take it off to get the flame off.
"Dude, can you do that?" Cisco asks Barry who was looking shocked at what occurred.
Peter-616 walked up and quickly slipped the ring off of his hand as Ava strolled over to grab the knife.
"That's three relics. Two Dark Knights. And one sweet victory." Peter-1 jokes as they stroll over to them.
Peter-616 then looked around...all the chaos, all the destruction, the deaths of his S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents. Good men. Brave men who laid their lives for this. Everything here...because of a mistake he made. Because of Crisis.
"We're...sorry about the mess." Clint gestures to the destruction that happened to their city.
"It's just buildings, the people were luckily safe." Kate assures him.
"Yeah, we can clean it up." Peter-21 agreed.
"You know, we could use some help fighting these other Dark Knights across the multiverse if you're interested." Peter-1 offered them.
"God, we'd love to." Kate states. "But we need to help our city, this war between Roxxon and the Underground, and this city is caught in the middle of it. The city needs us to try and stop them from killing civilians."
"Yeah, and I gotta watch her back for her." Peter-21 agrees.
"Families that fight together, stay together." Kate says and gives her brother a fist bump.
"We know how that is." Ava says and looks to see Peter-616 calling for backup the agents who were injured or killed during the fight.
Helicarrier
Peter-616 looks over the files on the recent deceased agents in his office onboard and wishes he could've saved or at least done more.
"You okay?" Hiccup asks from the doorway, shaking Peter out of his thoughts. "Sorry, you left the door open."
"No, it's fine. I'm...just thinking." Peter says while rubbing his head. "This job gives me the chance to keep saving as many people as I can. I know that there is no way to save everyone. Doesn't make the guilt any less painful. They knew what they were signing up for, I just hate what I have to tell their families."
"I know what you mean." Hiccup assured him. "People who only want peace, they end up trying to talk sense into the people who only want war."
"When you go into a fight, you can go as either a sword or a shield but remember that you can only protect yourself with a sword." Peter whispers to himself, getting Hiccup's attention.
"Where'd you hear that?" Hiccup wonders.
"It's just something that we would say to people during training in S.H.I.E.L.D." Peter explains to him. "Just means that you can either choose to rush in and fight to save the day. Or you can stand back and shield those who need help. I have chosen the shield for so long; it's gotten me this far."
"With the sword, all it can do is hurt. You can fight well with it, but it depends on who's wielding it." Hiccup agreed. "What do you choose to wield?"
Peter looks up to the deceased agents, the footage of Caitlin-S taking care of the injured ones. Then for the fun of it, he pulls up some old, classified files on agents from the old S.H.I.E.L.D. days that Agent H killed. They were killed by the sword, but the agents he failed to save as Agent S died by the shield.
Restraint and indulgence.
Which one does he need to be to save the universe?
"That's a good question." Peter sighed.
Dawnbreaker was now currently screaming in agony as he tried to escape his cell right next to Drowned, who has been quiet for a while sitting in angst.
"So, he can't get out of there, right?" Pat asks.
"No, his ring is inside of the indestructible vault." Ava assures him.
"I just hope that means they're gonna stop sending their friends to get caught." Reed sighs and walks off.
"Hey, Reed!" Clint calls him out and Reed notices he's holding s suitcase. "Pete told me about what you said...and I've been thinking if that he's willing to give you a second chance, maybe I should, too."
"I'm grateful for that, Clint." Reed says with a smiler before looking down to the case. "What's in there?"
"Well, I figure if you're gonna be sticking around, you might wanna look the part." Clint explains and places down the case on a table before opening it up to reveal a classic looking Mr. Fantastic outfit. "What do you say...Mr. Fantastic?"
Reed smiles at his friend and then down to the suit.
"So, you guys are cool now?" Jane asks Peter and Teresa about their father.
"Yeah, basically. I mean, we're still roughing out the hard edges, but we're getting there." Peter told them just as they look to see Reed join them, dawning his Fantastic Four outfit.
"Going old-school, I see." MJ comments on the look.
"Hey, you forget, when I was in school, this was this was considered cool." Reed informed her while fixing his black glove. "If I'm gonna be going back in action, might as well go all the way."
"So, now that we're on friendly terms, can I ask you something that I've been wondering for years?" Jane wonders.
"What's that?" Reed wonders.
"So, people always talk about how you can stretch your body to incredible lengths." Jane starts off.
"Correct." Reed confirmed.
"Can you create yourself into a strait jacket using just your arms?" Jane asks, causing the room to burst out laughing.
"Can you tie yourself into a knot?" Cisco asks.
"Would you be capable of strangling yourself with your own neck?" Peter-1 adds on to the questions.
"Can you touch your toes only moving your legs?" Carol asks, just having fun with her friend.
"Really, Carol?" Reed scoffs with a smile on his face.
As they continued to ask questions, the crew activated the quantum tunnel and shrink down and vanish from this reality and onto the next.
BATTLEWORLD
The Batman Who Laughs is starting to become very irritated with how far these superheroes have been getting and how many of the Dark Knights they've been defeating.
First the Grim Knight gets overpowered on Earth-173.
Then Drowned gets defeated in a battle, even when she had the upper hand and had the power to wipe them all out on Earth-174.
But Dawnbreaker had the power to kill them all. Anything he can imagine. Anything his mind could comprehend. And he was defeated by their least threatening of powerful people. These superheroes were becoming more and more of a serious problem with the relics and his power. Luckily, he has a genius who volunteered to work for him.
The Darkest Knight storms through the destruction and chaos and reaches the chamber where he left one Victor Von Doom.
Victor knew this day was coming. The reckoning of the multiverse. He did his best to try and stop it...but it's only happening because of him.
"You know, I know I held up my end of the bargain when I told you about where to find those heroes of yours. And then you said that your end of the deal was that you would build something for me when the time came and brought me the relic." Batman Who Laughs reminded the man who was currently being strung up by Nth Metal chains around his arms and being held up by his hands.
Murder Machine, a version of Batman who was fused with an A.I version of Alfred and was given enhanced capabilities unlike any of the other members on the team. It even took away his ability to feel fear and sadness and then replaced his frail biological body with a mechanical one that would never fail him. And he was as of this moment using his powers to torture the great Dr. Doom.
Doom was panting from exhaustion and looked up to see the Batman Who Laughs looking over the blueprints and schematics that was put together for why he's putting this planet together.
A weapon that can only be put together by all the relics of the multiverse.
"I...I can't do it." Doom tries his best to lie, knowing that if he does what he wants, he'll just be a loose end.
"You know, when I was Bruce Wayne, I thought that with enough preparation, I would always win." BWL says as he looks to see his Robins are dragging in Madame Web. "But I was wrong. I was trapped in an unwinnable war, refusing to see the obvious answers right in front of me." He then marches over to Madame Web and grabbed onto her shoulder, absorbing more and more energy of reality into him and then looks back over to Doom.
"The answers that are so clear to me now with victory right around the corner." He then grabs Doom by the head and listens to his cries of agony as his armor returns, but also begins to fuse with his body. There is no longer a Victor. There is only Doom.
"To win, you need to adapt, and to adapt, you need to be able to laugh away all the restraints. Everything holding you back." He watches as Doom blasts his way out of his restraints and pants in exhaustion and drops to his knees. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Doom then stands up and marches over to the blueprints. "What we need are more of the relics for this to work."
"We're trying, but the heroes are becoming a major problem." Batman Who Laughs stated.
"Then send out someone who can actually stop them." Doom gestures to Murder Machine. "Because if the children are still alive, that means we can still get the weapon we need to power this device is still out there. If you want this device to work, we need the relic of Earth-2. We need the Cosmic Staff."
In the outskirts of Battleworld, breaches open up and send a few members of the team flying out across the planet that is at least put together as of now.
One part of the planet, Cisco, Luke Cage, Gwenyth, and May Parker are sent falling out of a breach and landing on the hard rough floor and look to see they're sent some place that is surrounded by desert and bones.
"What the hell happened?" Luke asks as he looked around the area.
"That idiot!" Cisco growled at nothing while reaching to rip his hair out. "That multidimensional idiot! He tried to use an extrapolator to escape on a planet that doesn't allow it!"
"Didn't he use it to get to the garage?" May asks.
"Yes. He used it like an elevator, not like an airplane." Cisco explained to her. "As soon as we left the labs, the extrapolator became more dangerous and unstable outside of this universe."
"So where did it send us?" Gwen asks as she looked around the dead area.
"I don't know, but I don't wanna learn what happened to them." Luke stated as he looked over to the dead creatures just as they hear something coming from afar.
"I think we should start running." Cisco stated as they all did just that.
They looked back to see the creatures chasing them have long and slender, yet muscular, sturdy bodies. Several aspects of their appearance are noticeably skeletal, particularly their torsos and their heads.
What appear to be the eye sockets of their skull-like heads are merely empty fenestrae: their real eyes seem to be set much further back, with the fenestrae perhaps serving to distract enemies from their more vulnerable eyes and acting as heat-seeking sensory pits. The colors of their scales range from dark brown to dark green to a bone white color.
It's head closely resemble those of Mosasaurs such as Tylosaurus, and their jaws possess two rows of serrated, razor-sharp teeth. They have four digits in total of each hand, with the thumb being the smallest digit and the rest of the digits being larger and of the same size, and a prominent bony spike protrudes out of each of their elbows. The thorny, toothlike structures of their inner mouths somewhat resemble that of a leatherback turtle's. Additionally, they seem to have long, prehensile triple-forked tongues that they can use to grab their prey.
The Skull Crawlers seem to have noticed the team as they made their escape and started chasing after them.
