I might have some issues getting these chapters up as quickly. From lack of ideas to the fact that Varsity Football is starting up, I MAY have issues writing these. I'm not going to sacrifice quality for quantity, so if I don't have much time, I simply won't force out a story. For updates, go to my insta fanpage for Starco starcovstheworld. Diaz residence, (the morning after last chapter's events)
It was a morning like any other for anyone that wasn't named Star Butterfly or Marco Diaz. The Monsters were walking down the road and scaring off some people, greeting others with a smile. The morning moon shone in the north and the sun rose in the east. The sunrise in the post-cleave Echo Creek was something beautiful to behold. The sun rose into a pinkish orange sky. The air reeked of an array of smells, these ranged from over a hundred different Mewnian plants. For whatever reason, the magic really did combine the two worlds. That isn't to say that nobody knew why the worlds were combined, because most people knew.
The worlds were cleaved together due to the fact that Star and Marco belonged together, while also belonging to their respective planets. The magic's last act was one of heroism! Was it Glossaryck that caused this? Was it the Blood Moon? That was the mystery. Nobody quite understood why the world's imploded on themselves...for two teens.
What those people didn't quite understand was that the two loved each other, deeply, unconditionally. The two harbored a love so strong for one another that they managed to convince an all powerful force to die saving them and their love. The two couldn't live without one another, so they wouldn't. They both jumped back into their wells because they knew this. They had tried their best to live without each other twice, but both times, they made it back together, within a day or two both times.
Now, they were together, completely this time. After waiting far too long to become a couple, they finally had. It only took their worlds literally crashing into each other, but they could finally be together. Now, there appeared to be no unusual threats to their lives on a daily basis. Of course there was still danger, Marco literally almost lost his ability to walk just yesterday.
Star wouldn't soon forget the peril that they had just faced, nor could she forget the bone-chilling snap that his bones made when they were snapped back together. She never wanted to experience such a trauma again. More importantly though, she would not allow Marco to feel such pain ever again.
She woke from her somewhat sleepless slumber. She was elated to see Marco still asleep, breathing loud enough for her to hear, right next to her with his arms around her. The comfort of his touch was unparalleled by anything she had ever experienced. He produced a warmth that she could swear was hotter than the underworld itself. It wasn't scolding to a degree of concern, it was a warmth of love. Maybe the warmth wasn't just coming from her, but herself as well. She then felt around to test her theory. She thought that maybe she just had butterflies in her stomach...how ironic. She was horrified when she discovered what the actual source of the heat was...her. Not her body, but a certain monthly issue had come along. It was with extreme terror that she found a giant blood pool lying from her crotch and the area around it. It was not only on her though, but all over the sheets...and Marco. The latter of the discoveries was the worst.
If Marco was to wake up and discover this, what would he say? It wasn't something that she had control over, but it certainly was embarrassing anyway. How could she get rid of the evidence? It was on her, the blue and gray sheets, and Marco's shirt and pants.
It then dawned on her that she wasn't the only woman in the house. She surely couldn't escape the bed without waking her boyfriend, so she had to somehow reach her phone. It is tantalizingly close, but just too far. She reached and reached, but she couldn't hope to reach it. The thought also reached her that she hadn't told Angie, and definitely not Rafael, that herself and Marco had been sharing a bed. Now, she had to think of another way to get rid of the mess. Maybe she could-
The door creaked open, making Star yelp in panic. The thought of someone discovering her bedding the safe kid was horrifying. To her delight and panic at the same time, it was Angie. She sighed in conflicted relief. Angie started to walk toward the bed. She spotted Star and gasped. This would have to be a topic of discussion later.
Another thing she soon spotted was the panicked expression on Star's face. "Star?" Angie whispered, knowing Marco was asleep.
"Angie, we got a serious problem!" Star silently yelled. She would have to take advantage of her newfound resource.
"Yeah we do." Angie responded, unaware of what Star meant. The sheets were covering her after all.
"Please don't be mad at me, but-" Star was trying to say, but was interrupted by the boy's mother.
"Star, we are seriously going to need to talk about this later." Angie stated, pointing at the bed as a whole.
"I understand, we will but-" Star said, once again interrupted by angie. "Yeah we will-" Angie said, this time interrupted by Star "I GOT MY PERIOD!"
The room fell silent, that is except Marco, who shifted in bed a little, luckily remaining asleep. Angie softened her expression at Star and sighed. "I'm sorry, I didn't realise…"
"I really need help...It's never been this bad." Star added. Angie then simply nodded at Star. Star then lifted the sheets and with a nervous look on her face and was surprised to not hear a sigh from Angie, instead, she was reassured by the mother "Oh Star, it really does happen to the best of us huh?"
The comment from Angie earned a nervous smirk from Star. "What can we do about this, especially this part…" Star asked, pointing to Marco.
"That part may be a little more complicated…" Angie said.
The first step was the easiest. All they had to do was get the comforter off of the bed. That was easy enough, it was only covering the teens from the waist down. The issue came when Marco kept shifting in bed. He was cold. Somehow, the boy managed to be cold while being covered in menstrual blood. Angie's quick thinking was on display when she ran to turn off the fan, defusing the situation.
Star sighed in relief and then came to the grim realisation that someone would most likely have to undress Marco. The two could only hope that the blood didn't sink through to the final layer of clothes. Also, Star could have to pry herself from Marco's arms without waking him. She was laying on one of his arms and the other was across her chest and ended at her shoulder.
Angie made her way to the bed, giant teddy bear in hand, and began the process. She started carefully prying his fingers off one by one. It was to Angie's surprise that Marco's grip was so strong to Star. Surely that must not be comfortable for her. So she just asked her "He really holds on doesn't he? Isn't that uncomfortable?"
"Well it probably would be, but it's more comforting than anything…" Star responded, letting her frown waiver considerably. This earned a grin from Angie. Angie fully intended to scold Star for sleeping in Marco's bed without ever saying anything to her, but now she understood. She may still be mad, but she was beginning to get it.
After a long time, Star was free from the boy's grasp, but before she could get up, Angie held her down. "Hold on, we have to make a switch." Angie said, holding out the teddy bear. Star, smiling now, nodded.
Then, Star slowly began slipping out of the bed while Angie simultaneously slipped the teddy bear in her place.
They had done it! Star was out. She then made her way to the door, gesturing that she would go...deal with her lady issues. Once Star left the room, it was time to deal with the greatest of the problems remaining. Marco needed to be changed.
Once Angie heard the shower across the hall start going, she began the process. She went into the closet first. Once inside, she was unhappy to see several of Star's outfits inside 'Really?' Angie thought. She really was shameless. Ignoring the scattered clothes for now, she made her way to the dresser. Once she reached it, she pulled out one of the boy's pairs of signature jeans and walked out of the closet. Marco was still asleep on the bed, so she had time to think about the circumstances and what her approach should be.
'Here I was thinking that having a boy meant not having to deal with this' Angie thought to herself. There was no reason to waste time complaining though. She had to just make this as fast as possible to avoid awkwardness. She slowly slipped off the boy's brown belt and began pulling down his pants. That was when the unimaginable happened. Rafael had walked into the room and greeted her loudly "Hola mi amor, what is going on?"
"AHHHHHH!" Marco woke up with a scream. This was bad. Hopefully Star hadn't heard him, for a number of reasons. One of the more prominent ones being that Angie still didn't intend on making this embarrassing for Star. "Marco! SHHHHHHHH!" Angie exclaimed.
"WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?!" Marco screamed, slightly quieter than before.
"For your own sake as well as Star's, SHHHHHHH." Angie exclaimed.
Now silent, Marco nodded, then he asked "Ok Ok...What is going on-"
He was interrupted by Rafael, still standing in the doorway, "Marco, why are your pants wet?"
Marco looked down, embarrassed, he thought that the substance was his own manly product.
"Rafael, can you go downstairs? I'll be down in a minute." Angie asked calmly, knowing that he was only making things worse. Rafael nodded, taking Mariposa downstairs with him.
"Marco, that is not yours. It is Star's" Angie said, pointing to his pants. Marco was initially shocked, but calmed down so he could ask "What do you mean 'Star's'?".
"Marco, she is almost sixteen, connect the dots." Angie frustratedly answered.
At the new revelation, Marco let his shoulders untense and let out a sigh, "oh."
"Yeah, you need to change and take a shower when Star is done, but I wouldn't tell her you know about this if I was you." Angie responded, more calmly this time.
Marco nodded. Star must be feeling terrible, and she was on her period? What could he do to make things easier for her without letting her know what he knows? Before Jackie, he hadn't even held hands with a girl, before Star, he could hardly even talk to them. Now, he had so much more to deal with. Being the safe kid meant taking certain extremes. Once changed out of his clothes, he immediately resorted to google. 'How to help a girl with her period' was what he had searched for. To his dismay, the results were more medical than they were helpful to his circumstances. When he discovered his lack of answers, there was only one other way to find out. He had to ask his mother.
He made his way to his nightstand and grabbed his phone off of the charger. He then started to text his mother 'What do I do?'. To his surprise, his mother responded pretty quickly 'Are you talking about Star?' she questioned. Marco then simply responded with a 'yes' of his own.
'All girls are different. All you can do is be there for her.' was all that Angie could give him. This was the last thing that he wanted to hear. So he ended the conversation with his mother by just saying 'k thx'.
He was always someone who helped Star get through things. He helped her survive a number of things, from Ludo to Mina. Marco was always there for her in her times of peril, but he didn't think that was enough for this situation.
His speculation was interrupted when his door was once again opened by a towel-wearing Star. "Oh hi there Marco.." Star said. Marco just chose to flash a smile at her and say "uhhh… morning'". Star, panicked by the fact that he was awake, asked if he wanted to shower. To her own surprise, Marco declined, "Don't worry about me! Are you feeling alright?"
"Ye- Yeah Marco, you should really take a shower though." Star insisted. Marco stood firm, "I am really fine, wanna head downstairs?"
"Um sure, you can head down, I'll be right down...Still gotta get dressed." Star answered.
"Alright, no rush. I'll be waiting for you down on the couch." Marco responded, opting to be a yes man today.
Now alone, Star took her hands from behind her back, holding a plastic square bag with pads inside. She needed to deal with the problem now so maybe he could survive the day. There was no risk of peril, but she was ashamed to have bled all over the boy. He didn't even shower….gross.
Once she had the pad on along with the rest of her clothes, she sighed and headed for the stairs. Time to go eat some breakfast.
Now downstairs, Star looked to the kitchen, expecting to see Marco, but was surprised to see only Rafael and Mariposa. She decided to make her way to the cheerful duo and greeted them with a simple, but effective "Good morning Mr. D".
"Good morning Star! Marco told me to tell you that Angie and him went outside to talk and they'll be back soon. So I guess it's just you and me for now!" Rafael cheerfully spoke.
"I guess it is, but I don't mind if you don't!" Star answered, matching Rafael's mood.
In his thick, Mexican accent, Rafael asked Star "Would you like some coffee my dear? I don't think we are making breakfast this morning…" At that last part, Rafael scoffed and glared at the back door that Marco and Angie went out.
"Yes please!" Star responded before making sure to add "As much sugar as possible please!" Rafael didn't need the last sentence, but he still happily nodded. It was hard for Rafael to grasp at first that she was dating his son, but he was beginning to get used to the idea.
By the time that the coffee was done, Marco and Angie had come back inside. Marco came in and greeted Star by saying "Sorry I had to go outside for a minute, but my mom wanted to talk to me about you sleeping in my bed...it was...awkward but I think I may have convinced her."
Star was happy to hear that the only topic of the conversation was that, because not only did it mean that Star didn't have to have the conversation herself, but she also had been saved from her ultimate humiliation by Angie. She appreciated Angie's efforts more than Angie could ever know. Maybe today wouldn't be too-
Her thoughts were interrupted by a sharp pain. This wasn't her first rodeo, so she knew the cramp well, but there was no getting used to it. It was a crushing feeling in her stomach and it sure likes to take its time before running its course. She winced in pain despite her efforts to hide her pain from Marco.
Marco, who had just come inside after talking to his mother about this very topic, said nothing about it, he simply held her hand through it.
It was like the pain left far faster than it normally would, in fact it had. Star, confused by the lack of pain, looked down and noticed that Marco had been holding her hand. She tried to make an excuse about what just happened by saying "Must've slept on my side last night."
Marco, unconvinced, pretended to fall for her excuse and said "yeah, maybe it was because my arm was under you last night...my bad."
"Don't worry Marco, it's a small price to pay for comfort." She said with a smile, hoping to reassure the boy that she had just inadvertently blamed her struggles on.
Marco wasn't bothered by her comments though, he instead opted to motion for the dining table and asked her, "Sugar seeds?" The response was simple, "Sugar seeds."
After serving the girl, he went to the living room and prepared some pillows and some blankets for her to come join him on when she finished. It was a relationship Thursday after all and they would absolutely not let Star's menstrual cycle get in the way.
Once Star finished her bowl of cereal, she made her way to the couch. She was not happy to notice the absence of her boyfriend. She turned around and headed to the kitchen to ask Rafael about his location. Before she could speak, Rafael told her "Outside." "Is he talking to Angie again?" Star asked. "Yes, I believe so." the tired dad responded.
Star sighed and decided to go sit down on the couch for a while. 'What are they talking about this time?' Star wondered. Could she be telling him about what happened in the morning?
"Okay, Marco just listen to her. That's all you have to do. Listening is really the best thing you can do. You can't magic away her cycle, and if you do, you better get a pregnancy test." Angie reminded her son.
Marco then walked back inside, spotting Star on the couch, visibly displeased. The frown that plagued her face disappeared almost instantly when she saw him. She then patted the couch next to her, silently asking him to sit down with her. He happily obliged.
"Do you want me to make some-" Marco tried to ask, but was interrupted by Star's finger on his mouth. She then put her head on his shoulder and cuddled up against him. She felt warm again, this time it wasn't blood though, it was just her lover. He allowed her to get comfortable and did so himself too. They had no plans on moving for the rest of the day.

Diaz Residence - 8:00 pm
The day had gone largely well. To the teens' dismay, they did eventually have to leave the couch, but their night wasn't over. They always loved Thursdays, even more than the weekends now ever since they became a couple. They enjoyed each other's presence more than anyone or anything else. With everything that the two had to deal with over the past two years, they needed this. Doing nothing was always a pleasure for Star. When you fight 3 wars worth in two years, all with the same person by your side, you might just grow into loving them as much as Star did. She fell for this boy despite the both of their efforts to keep themselves apart.
Star was the single reason that Marco ever dated Jackie and Marco's absence was the sole reason for Star going back to Tom. They held no ill will towards one another though. They finally made it together, and that was never going to change.
What could the duo do to waste the rest of the afternoon away? Why not teach Star one of Marco's favorite pastimes. Sense Ferguson had doused his laptop with his possum tail, he couldn't show her Netflix, so he opted to teach her how to play video games.
Marco's games weren't the most popular ones though. He wasn't someone who liked playing with other people often, so teaching Star how to play really did mean something. He played Street Fighter more than anything, so it was a good start. When he handed her a controller, he was surprised to see Star immediately start getting used to it. Had she done this before? She was shockingly good at it to be sure. After only twelve or so minutes of being taught the game, she had mastered it. She was already beating Marco with ease. Time to switch games.
Now it was time for Mario Kart. Naturally, when they got into the game, Star begged to try out rainbow road. Luckily for Marco, she was not good at this game. Marco won all three races that they tried, so Star wanted to try out a different one.
This game was different from the others. It wasn't one where the two would have to compete against each other, rather they would work towards a common goal. It was something that appealed to the both of them very strongly. They had met by fighting monsters, so a game like DOOM was sure to interest them. They just had to shoot things and help each other survive.
They were very good at the game. They had undeniable chemistry, so they played off of each other very naturally. They were so good in fact, that Star could lean on his shoulder at the edge of his bed and they would still easily win.
It was a spectacle to anyone that could see it. Nobody could, but they were still very happy with themselves. Once they had grown bored of easily beating up the hellish monsters, they started to wind down for the night. Right as they were about to wind down for the night, they heard a knock downstairs. "OH COME ON!" Star exclaimed in frustration.
The two came downstairs, hand in hand, to greet whoever was at the front door. When they looked through the peephole, they were surprised to see someone familiar. It was Ludo.
"Do you have any idea what time it is Ludo?" Star asked.
"Oh, I don't know, is it thirteen?" Ludo asked in return.
"THAT ISN'T EVEN A TIME!" Star yelled at the short Avarian.
"Ludo, I'm sorry about you, but this is a really bad day to do this." Marco warned.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I just wanted to tell you that the Monster village is going to have its grand reopening tomorrow!" Ludo said.
When Ludo finished that, a large frog man stepped out from behind Ludo. "Star Butterfly, Karate Boy, Ludo is right, we came to invite you to the event tomorrow." Buff Frog insisted.
The two teens looked at each other and nodded. "We'll be there!" the two spoke in unison.
"Glad to be hearing it." Buff Frog finished.
"We'll see you there" Marco spoke for the couple.
After the interaction, the two walked upstairs. When they got up there, instead of going to bed, they chose to talk about some things. The topics ranged from the village reopening to who won each game. They didn't talk long, but before Star went to bed, she wanted to be honest with Marco. Whether she could tell Marco about the overnight issue was up to debate to be sure.
"Hey Marco, I wanted to tell you something…" Star was going to tell him. Marco decided that if she was gonna be honest, so would he. "Yes?" Marco asked.
"Well you probably noticed that I was acting weird today right?" Star asked. Marco nodded in affirmation and gestured for her to keep going.
"Well it was because...well...ummm...I-" Star wanted to say it, but she just couldn't. Luckily for her, Marco stopped her muttering by grabbing her by the shoulders to stop her shaking. He then told her, "I know Star, I'm the safe kid, I know…"
While it was great that he knew and didn't say anything, she still felt guilty about the accident in the sheets that morning. She wanted to tell him, this time she wouldn't fail. "Also, this morning, I got my pe-" She was once again interrupted by Marco, who said "I know, I woke up when my mom tried to take my pants off… that part was...weird. I would have rather had you do it for the record."
Star blushed at that last part, but decided something was off about what he just said, "Wait, so you knew but you didn't shower?" Star asked, internally grossed out.
"Well I didn't need to, it didn't get on my underwear or any of my skin, so I was just trying not to make things worse for you…" Marco responded, trying to avoid being thought of as a creep.
"Maybe I won't shower when you-" Star attempted to joke in return, but Marco interjected "Don't even go there…"
"Oh we're gonna go there soon enough safe kid…" Star joked. Marco was far redder than even his hoodie at the insinuations.
After a night of exchanged jokes from the two, they fell asleep, hoping that there wasn't a repeat of the previous night's events. The chaotic day finally was at its end. Tomorrow would be just as chaotic, but in a far different way.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Sorry that this was a shorter chapter, but I really didn't have anywhere to go in this chapter, I spent a majority of it purely adding a fluffy chapter while planning out the future of the fic. Next chapter will be a lot more important to the story than this one.
