Prom Problems (Part Two)

"Wait, what?" Marinette asked, confused.

"I mean, if you want to. It's totally up to you."

It took her a couple minutes to process what Chat had just asked her. But when it did, she couldn't keep the smile off her face.

"Y-yeah, I mean, I-uh- I would love to!" Marinette stuttered in excitement.

Even though he was excited, Chat realized the flaw of his plan immediately. He would have to fake something to get out of the dance with Chloe, maybe an illness?

"Cool! Can't wait!" He had a photoshoot in two hours, so he couldn't stick around. "Sorry purr-incess, but I have to leave. Family plans! But I'll see you soon!"

"Oh, ok." Marinette was hoping to hang out with Chat for a little while longer. "See you soon, then!"

It was Prom night, and everyone was ecstatic, especially Marinette. She hadn't told anyone that Chat Noir was going to be her date, because she didn't want to be the center of attention just yet. Remember, she still had to dance with him.

Meanwhile, Adrien had to pretend he had the fever, which was a lot harder than he thought it was going to be. Not to get into the details, but for some weird reason Plagg made him rub cheese all over his face. Luckily, now he isn't allowed to go to the dance; as Adrien, that is.

Marinette spent all week designing her prom dress. Chat helped her, of course. She ended up with a beautiful blue dress. It was sleeveless, with thin straps. It had a tight waist, and it flowed down in ruffles down to her knees.

Chat, on the other hand, secretly bought a black suit with a green tie, and hid it from his father and Nathalie. Don't ask him how he managed to get that leather suit off his body, but he did.

Alya met up with Marinette at her house, and they walked to the school together, where tons of people were flowing into the courtyard, where the Prom was being held.

"I'll see you in a bit, Alya!" Marinette shouted over the loud music. She wanted to find Chat.

"Woah, woah, woah." Ayla stopped her. "What's the rush?"

"Um, nothing?" Marinette said, trying to sound casual but failed. Alya gasped.

"Marinette! Did you find a date?" she asked, looking around. "Who is it?"

Well there was no getting out of it now. "Well, uh.. Chat Noir?"

"Wait…" Alya stared at her in shock. "Your Prom Date is Chat Noir and you didn't tell me?"

"I'm sorry, Alya." Marinette apologized. "I wanted to tell you, but I had a feeling that you would come at me, camera in hand, asking me a million questions I don't have the answers to."

"That's…" Alya wanted to argue, but she had no defense. "Fair. That's fair."

They heard a light thump behind them, and turned around to see Chat Noir sporting a black suit instead of his regular leather one. Marinette thought he looked cute, actually.

"Why, hello there." he smirked. "And how are you lovely ladies tonight?"

Marinette blushed bright red as Chat reached down to plant a kiss on her hand. She knew that everyone was staring, and she hated it.

"Ridiculous! Utterly Ridiculous!" Marinette groaned. She knew that shout from anywhere.

God, Chloe, can't you just shut your dang mouth for once in your life?

"Chat Noir." she said angrily. "Why did you just kiss Marinette Dupain-Cheng on the hand? You should be doing that to moi!"

Marinette wanted to run back to her house. She was so embarrassed. But then, Chat Noir did something totally unexpected.

He ever so gently grabbed Marinette by the waist and moved her so that she was standing behind him, and he said, "No, I shouldn't. And I think that you shouldn't be talking about people like that. It's not nice. No one is going to want to date you or even be around you if you're not nice."

Everyone was silent. No one was making a sound. Even the crickets shut up. No one has ever talked to Chloe like that.

It was a long time before anyone did anything. Ten minutes or ten hours, Marinette didn't know. But suddenly, everyone started clapping. And cheering.

Soon, the applause stopped, and a slow dance came on. Marinette looked daggers at Nino, who was manning the DJ Booth.

Chat took her by the hand and led her to the makeshift dance floor. Marinette didn't know how to dance; she probably should have told him that before.

But lucky for her, nothing bad happened. She didn't trip and go flying, or anything like that. Sure, she accidentally stepped on Chat's feet a feet a few times, but he didn't mind. He knew how clumsy Marinette can be.

They didn't know how long the song lasted, it sounded like Nino was just playing it on repeat, but Marinette grew tired. Chat noticed this, and he walked her over to one of the benches and they sat down. She couldn't feel her feet.

It wasn't that long before Marinette fell asleep in Chat's arms.

The End

Ok, I wrote it and I'm fangirling over it. There were a million ways I wanted to end this but I'm so happy with how this turned out! Also, please feel free to give me a prompt in the reviews! Thank you!
