Hey guys sorry it's been so long, life has been super hectic lately. I'll try to post updates more frequently from here on out. Thank you for all the reviews! I'm glad you all like the story! Please let me know if you see any mistakes or if you have any questions!
Harry's ghost sense woke him up, he shot upright glancing around expecting an attack. Not recognizing his surroundings he tried to remember what had happened. Dementors. He'd been attacked by dementors in the middle of Amity Park! And his wand hadn't worked, wait his wand! He jumped out of the enormous bed throwing the covers off and searching where it might have fallen out.
"Good you're awake," a smooth voice said from the doorway. "I feared you'd sleep the entire day away." Harry looked up nervously before recognizing the form of his uncle Vlad in the dimmed lighting.
"Uh what happened?" Vlad walked past him towards the giant windows, throwing open the curtains. Harry's eyes squinted at the brightness.
"What do you remember?" Vlad said turning towards him once again, hands clasped behind his back.
Harry looked down at the pink matching pajamas someone must have put him in. "I remember being attacked by these horrible creatures from the wizarding world. They're called dementors, you remember me telling you about them back in my third year?"
Vlad nodded slightly, "I thought you knew how to defend yourself from them? What happened?" Vlad steered Harry towards a small sitting area in the center of the room, motioning for him to take a seat.
Harry did as directed, staring at his hands resting in his lap. "Yeah, I thought I did but it wasn't working. Do you happen to have my wand by the way? Also how did I get here?" Harry looked up at his uncle confused.
"I found you in that alleyway," Vlad said. Pulling out a smooth piece of wood from his inner coat pocket, "This was still in your hand when I found you." Ignoring the second question.
Harry took it silently, the cold wood not feeling at all familiar. His distress must have shown on his face as Vlad asked, "Has something else happened? Is there something you need to tell me?" Vlad's eyes showed only concern and understanding. He was always able to tell his uncle everything. Especially the things he didn't feel he could tell his parents.
"Actually something did happen," Harry said softly. Vlad sat forward, his brows creased. "There was an accident about a month ago, in my parents lab." He hesitated. He'd never told anyone, Sam and Tucker only knew 'cause they were there when it happened. What if he thinks I'm a total freak? What if he tells my parents?
Vlad could tell he was worried about whatever had happened, "Harry you know you can tell me anything, it won't change how much I care about you." He looked directly into Harry's eyes, showing how serious he was. It couldn't be that bad, whatever had happened. Right?
"I know, I know." Harry said, seemingly trying to convince himself. "Well my parents were trying to build this ghost portal, and at first it didn't really work." He said quickly, hand fidgeting.
Vlad stiffened, another ghost portal. After what had happened back in their college days, Vlad had hoped they wouldn't try a second time. Though he had eventually benefited from the accident, it was still a painful memory.
"Anyway, Sam kinda convinced me to go inside of it. And it kinda turned on while I was inside."
Harry said in one breath quickly looking up to see any sort of reaction on his uncle's face. "But yeah, it kinda did something to me. It changed me." He went quiet.
Vlad stared in disbelief, this can't be happening. They can't have done this again, what are the chances of that? No Harry's not a half ghost he's probably just talking about something else.
"Harry what exactly happened? How did it change you?" He needed to be sure. He needed to know if there was now someone else like him.
Harry stood up apprehensive, "Maybe it would be better if I just showed you." Both their hearts were pounding. "GOING GHOST" Harry shouted, arms outstretched. Vlad slowly stood from the cushioned chair, gripping the arm rest. Bright white light engulfed the room, as his godson transformed into an entirely new being.
"So yeah," Harry said awkwardly, his hand rubbing the back of his neck. He looked up when he realized Vlad still hadn't said anything.
"Oh Harry," Vlad began to smile. Harry took a step back, not expecting this kind of reaction at all. "There's something you should know about me as well." He stated before a glowing black ring of energy surrounded his waist and engulfed his body. What was left was, well it was a ghost. Harry was speechless. Was this a normal thing? How many half humans-half ghosts were there out there?
Vlad laughed at his gaping mouth and wide eyes. His fear was extinguished by the fact that he was no longer alone.
