Chapter 4.5: Long time no fun

Mono was running away from Thin Man down the hallway. He saw Six ran to a room, he followed her.

In the room

Mono saw Six hid under a nearby table. He then hastily ran to the bed to hide.

Thin Man slowly walked into the room and looked around creepily. He then noticed Six hid under the table.

Six noticing that she was detected, quickly tried to run to Mono. However, she was tripped and fell by the dragging force from Thin Man's hand.

Mono's POV

Mono could see Six desperately tried to reach Mono. He also tried to grab Six's hand but was stopped by a loud and distorted noise, which made him cover his Helix.

"Mono! Help!" He could hear Six screaming for help. However, the noise was still torturing him.

"MONO! HELP ME!" Six desperately called Mono again but he was still holding his head.

"AHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh..." He could hear Six screams as she was taken away by Thin Man.

The next moment, he saw himself hanging and grabbing Six's hand on a cliff.

"Six. Please pull me up." Mono begged Six.

"Why?" Six said.

"Why would I pull you up?" You broke into my safe space, got me in trouble, and destroyed my music box, the ONLY thing confronting me."

"As I think about it, why would I ever follow such a weak, pathetic boy like you? Why would I EVER save you?"

"I...I thought we were friends..." Mono said shockingly.

"HAHAHAHAhahahahaha" Six laughed maniacally.

"WE...WERE...NEVER...FRIENDS" Six whispered as she left off her hand, letting Mono fall...

...

"SIX!" Mono shouted as he woke up.

Looking around, he saw that he was still in his dorm room.

"Woah! What a little nightmare!" Mono said while holding his head, gasping and sweating a lot.

He then glanced at the clock. It's 2 AM.

Going to the bathroom, he took off his shirt. As he looked in the mirror, he didn't see the little boy as he used to. Now, he saw a teenager with a fully-grown body with pure black eyes and straight black hair.

He washed his face and dried it with a towel. He decided to make some delicious milk after wearing a new shirt. He could now make milk as Sato had taught him before.

Walking out of the room, he looked at Bakugo's room right next to his.

"Hope he didn't wake up due to my shout." Mono thought as he knew that Bakugo is the most aggressive classmate.

He then used the elevator to get to the Ground floor.

Despite being illuminated by some light outside, the floor was still very dark. Mono got his flashlight out, which was given by Deku, to see the way to the kitchen.

On his way, he suddenly heard a creepy whisper right next to his ears.

"Hi, Mono..."

He quickly turned back just to check the source but saw nothing.

Suddenly, he was pushed by someone and dropped his flashlight. After that, he tried to move but someone sat on his back and had tied his hands.

"Hi, Mono. Hehehe" A strange but familiar girl voice appeared.

"Who are you?" Mono asked while trying to escape desperately.

"Ohh...Hasn't she already told you about me?" The person talked again.

"Who do you mean?" Mono said as he could see her or its leg, which was very glitching and dark.

"Hahahaha. Who else can I talk about other than your GIRLfriend?" The person said.

"Six?!" He thought and said angrily "Don't you dare to hurt her?"

"Ohh. Don't worry. I won't hurt her...YET!"

Suddenly, Six came out of the elevator.

"I want to play with you more but it seems reality doesn't allow me. Byeeee Mono..." The person said as he could move his hands again.

Six's POV

Six had just had a nightmare. The nightmare, where she killed and ate Mono multiple times as he screamed painfully, was very bothering Six.

She was very concerned about the reappearance of her hunger curse. She didn't want to become the monster like before.

She wanted to eat something to sleep easier.

Coming out of the elevator, Six saw Mono laying on the ground. She ran to see what happened to Mono.

"Mono! Are you OK? What happened?"

"I'm fine. It's just..." Mono said and thought that he shouldn't tell Six about Shadow Six as she has been tortured by it or her for a long time.

"...Nothing. I just tripped." Mono lied and giggled.

"Be careful next time, OK Mono?" Six said, gave him her hand, which surprised Mono to see that.

"Thanks, Six" Mono grabbed Six's hand.

"Sooo. What are you doing here?" Mono asked.

"Oh. I was just looking for something to ea..." Six said but was interrupted by the growling of her belly.

"It looks like your belly answered my question." Mono teased Six, which made Six embarrassed.

Mono saw the confused Six, offered her "Would you like some pasta? I can make some for both of us."

"Yes! Thanks, Mono." Six said joyfully, which made Mono feel less stressed.

5 minutes later

Six was waiting at the dining table while enjoying the delicious smell from the kitchen.

Mono was cooking or trying his best to cook pasta since he had just learned how to cook from Sato, the Class 1A's chef. Mono served the pasta, which looked very messy but he tried his best, for Six.

"Sorry, Six. I have tried my best." Mono apologized.

"What do you mean? This smells more delicious than anything I have eaten before." Six said, which is a truth since she had eaten only raw meat or even eaten alive.

Mono felt relieved hearing that. He decided to take a bite. The pasta wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. He looked at Six and saw a messy scene. Six was eating the pasta by "HAND?" He thought.

"OMG, Six!" Mono shouted to get Six's attention.

"What, Mono?" Six stopped eating to answer.

"Use this to eat," Mono said as he hangs to Six a fork.

"Why?"

"It would be cleaner," Mono said as he tried not to overreact.

"Oh. I'm sorry. I used to have to eat quickly to survive in the Maw"

"It's fine..." Mono said, "Talking about the Maw, Can you tell me about your journey there?"

Six ate silently, which made Mono think as a deny.

...

After done eating, Mono cleaned the dishes with Six.

"So, Six! Where is your room?" Mono started the conversation.

"It's on the 4th floor, next to Uraraka's."

"Oh! My room is also on the 4th floor. What a coincidence! Now I can burst to save you."

"Haha. I will appreciate it if you can." Six revenge Mono for teasing her.

"Since when you knew how to tease people, Six?"

"Since you teased me," Six said, which made Mono giggle.

"HAhaha. You sure know how" Mono said as he cleaned the last disk, "Anddd. Done!"

"So what do we do now?" Six asked Mono after they had cleaned their hands.

"How about watching some cartoon?" Mono said, which confused Six.

"Cartoon?"

"I don't know it either but Izuku said that it's like multiple pictures matching together to make a film."

"So where do we watch it? There doesn't seem to have any TVs anywhere."

"There's one over there," Mono said and pointed at the TV.

Six looked at the TV and said:

What? This is a TV? - Mono nodded - Why is it much bigger than the ones in our world?

I don't know. I haven't asked about tha... - Mono said as he saw Six come closer to the TV, which made him rush to lift her up - Woah, Six! You shouldn't come close to it. We still don't know what'll happen if we touch it.

Six nodded and Mono put her down again. After putting her down, Mono realized that Six was still so small and fragile for him. He thought to himself that he wouldn't leave her alone again.

He then realized Six asking him worriedly:

What's wrong, Mono?

Oh! It's nothing. - Mono quickly grabbed the remote - You can use this for switching between channels or applications. Let me turn to the cartoon.

Mono and Six then sat on the couch together to watch the cartoon. They hadn't had any delightful moment like this for a long time: They laughed, they cried and they showed similarities.

...

A while later

Mono was still laughing when he suddenly felt a weight on his thigh.

Looking down, he saw a peaceful sleeping face of Six. He decided not to wake her up and turned off the TV. He then realized some sauce was left near Six's mouth.

"You're so messy," He complained as he cleaned Six's face and thought "but I don't mind it at all."

After cleaning, Mono also fell asleep quickly.
