I have exciting news! I finished typing the last chapter of this story, so I will be posting double time! Now I will post every wednesday and every saturday, so be watching! I starting to work on the sequel to this story, X-Strike Chronicles 2: The Last Stand. So stay tuned!
Guess the Guest: Hi! I really love your story! I bet this is what Kitty said. "I love you" It's kinda obvious. If there's Project Alpha X-Strike, there's probably a Project Beta X-Strike, maybe a Project Omega X-Strike! Can't wait to see what will happen next to Kyle! Is Kyle Logan's clone or son? I think so because of his claws nd healing factor.
Thanks for liking my story, Guess the Guest! My laptop is about to die so I have to make this quick. Maybe you're right about what Kitty said. And you're right about a Project Beta X-Strike. Kyle is not Logan's clone. But Kyle is a clone of someone who I can't say.
Later that day, after the plane landed, Kyle learned that the two people were Mystique (the female) and Magento (the old man). Clearly for some reason, Logan, Storm, Jean, and Rogue did not like them at all. There were supplies in the plane, which included camping tents and clothes. Logan, Storm, Jean, Magento, and Mystique sat around the fire. Kyle, Kitty, Bobby, and Rogue sat at another campfire spot, where Kitty was laughing at Bobby trying to start a fire. No one could blame him, because he literally had ice powers. John sat a few yards away from them in deep thought. Rogue walked away from the group to Nightcrawler.
"Thank you." She said.
"Bitte schon." He responded in German.
"Can you hear what they're saying?" Rogue asked, nodding to the adults.
"I could take a closer look," Nightcrawler answered with a wink.
"His name is Colonel Willaim Stryker." Magento said. Kyle listened to their conversation with his super hearing. "And he invaded your mansion for one purpose. He wanted Cerebro. Or enough of it to build on himself.
"But that doesn't make any sense." Jean interrupted. "Stryker would need the professor to operate it."
"Which I think is the only reason why our friend is still alive." Magento responded. Kyle gasped.
"Did you hear what I said?" Kitty asked. Kyle turned around to see her talking to him.
"Huh?" Kyle asked.
"On the plane."
"No. Not really. What did you say?" Kyle asked. Kitty suddenly blushed, looking away.
"It doesn't matter. Nothing important." Kitty quickly said. "John!" She called out to John who was moping about. "Can you give Bobby a hand?"
John didn't answer, but the firepit suddenly lit up in flames.
Bobby smirked. "He's still a show off."
Kyle wondered what Kitty had said, but craned his neck to listen to the conversation yards away from him.
"While Cerebro is working," Magento continued, "Charles' mind is connected to every single living person on the planet."
"That's how he found Kyle." Logan added. Kyle quickly turned it head towards his friends, pretending to not eavesdrop on the conversation.
"Yes. If he were to concentrate on a particular group, let's say, mutants for example, he could kill us all."
"Wait a minute," Storm interrupted. "How would Stryker even know where to look for Cerebro in the first place?"
"Because I told him." Charles confessed. "I helped Charles build it, Remember?"
"No." Logan answered coldly.
"Mr. Stryker has powerful methods of persuasion. Even against a mutant as strong as Charles." Magento continued, ignoring Logan.
Jean said, "Who is this Stryker, anyways?"
"He's a military scientist." Magento explained. "He spent his whole life trying to fix the "mutant problem". If you want a more intimate perspective, why don't you ask Wolverine?" Jean and Ororo looked suspiciously at Logan who had a distant look in his eyes. "Or how about Kyle?" Jean turned to catch Kyle in the act.
"Sorry Kyle, but this is a private conversation," She said to him telepathically. Suddenly, Kyle could no longer hear the adult's conversation.
"Shoot." Kyle mumbled.
"I heard that," Jean answered before ending the mental link. Kyle smirked and turned to look at her. Jean wasn't looking at him anymore, but Mystique bored her yellow eyes into him, making him turn away.
Later on, after Jean and Ororo went to repair the X-Jet, Kyle helped Bobby inflate tents. John was quieter than usual, and refused to help. Kyle went over to him.
"You okay?" Kyle asked.
John nodded. "Just regretting what I had done earlier at Bobby's house."
"You do that then," Kyle answered, walking away. However, John was thinking about something entirely different. He was thinking about Magento's view of the mutant and human conflict. The mutants would eventually overpower the humans anyways, so why not take over now?
Kyle shared a tent with Kurt, Bobby shared one with John, Kitty and Rogue shared one, Storm and Jean shared one, While Logan, Magento, and Mystique got their own separate ones. Everyone was asleep, but Kyle stayed awake, staring at the ceiling. He looked over to his left where Kurt was on the other side of the tent, and Kyle watched as Kurt's pointed tail waved in the air like a cat's tail. Kyle looked away as Kurt opened his eyes.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to stare." Kyle answered.
"It's okay. I get stares all the time." Kurt answered. Kyle rolled over to the right, and Kurt saw the faded circle on Kyle's neck.
"That circle," Kurt gasped, feeling the back of his own neck. Kyle sat up to look at him.
"Do you think these circles were put on our necks by the same person?" Kyle asked.
"I'm afraid so. I think it was put there by Willaim Stryker." Kurt answered.
"Stryker. It sounds so familiar." Kyle said. "But I can't remember.
Kurt nodded his head. "Me too. And same for Logan."
"I think there's a connection." Kyle explained. "But I wasn't able to hear their conversation."
"We will have to find out." Nightcrawler confirmed.
"Do you think we know each other? Before we were brainwashed?" Kyle asked.
"No. William Stryker has many other mutants there he captured. I remember most of the place."
"We both want answers. And I think the X-men are hiding information from us." Kyle answered.
"We'll figure this out in the 'morrow," Nightcrawler confirmed. Kyle agreed as they went to sleep. Well Kurt fell asleep. Even though they were far apart from each other, Occasionally, Nightcrawler would teleport in his sleep around the tent, sometimes colliding with Kyle. Kyle picked up his sleeping bag and quietly left the tent and went to the fireplace which was still on. He laid on the ground and stared into the starry sky.
"I'm gonna get answers." Kyle mumbled angrily. "And no one can stop me."
"KADRIEN!"
Kyle jumped from the sleeping bag. No one had ever called him that.
"What? Sorry I woke up late-" Kyle gasped and jumped to his feet, unsheathing his katana shaped blades. An unfamiliar old man with glasses approached him.
"We have a mission." The man said.
"What?" Kyle exclaimed. "Where-" Kyle was in an aircraft. His eyesight grew blurry. He was in a super suit that matched these other people with the same uniforms. He couldn't see the five figures, but he guessed they were mutants.
"You let the team down." One of the people said.
"What? What do you mean?" Kyle shouted. A boom was heard and then the aircraft blew apart. Kyle was falling. He fell into a facility where the man with glasses was. He was strapped into a machine which lowered him into blue water.
"Initiate Project X-Stryke,"
"We'll have to brainwash him,"
"What have we done?"
"Release the Killer Scent,"
"Mfffffff! Mffffff!" Kyle struggled to scream, but his mouth was shut. His body felt like it was in a-
Sleeping bag. Kyle was twisted into a sleeping bag. Kyle unwrapped himself to find himself outside. It was the morning.
"Kyle!" Bobby called.
"Yeah?" Kyle asked.
"You slept outside?"
"Yeah?"
"We're going to Alkali Lake." Bobby explained.
"Yeah?"
"Are you going to say that over and over again?" Bobby sighed.
"Yeah- er- no." Kyle said, springing off the ground. As he changed in the tent out of his nightclothes into the clothes he wore yesterday, he put on a blue jacket with the X-men logo. As he entered the repaired X-Jet, he found Kitty, Bobby, and Rogue admiring the black X-men uniforms on display.
"These are so cool!" Kitty squealed.
"Why don't we get uniforms?" Rogue asked Logan.
"Yeah, where's ours?" Bobby quipped.
"They're on order," Logan answered, putting on his uniform. "Should arrive in a few years." The four disappointed teens glared at Logan. They heard laughing as they turned to see Magneto and Mystique seated in the plane.
"We love what you did with your hair," Magento taunted Rogue. Kyle always thought Rogue's white strands of hair at the front of her head were dyed, but clearly they were not and Rogue yanked off her glove, threatening to touch Magento with her powers.
"Hey, HEY!" Bobby shouted. "Come on. Let's go." Rogue and Bobby sat in chairs far away from Magneto and Mystique.
"Do you know about what you are?" Magento asked Kyle.
"Yes. I mean some, I think." Kyle retorted nervously glancing at where Bobby and Rogue went.
"What is your name, Kyle?" Magento asked.
"Um, you just said it." Kyle answered.
"Your real name. Or should I say, names." Magento corrected. Kyle clenched his fists, but released his hands when he felt the blades between his knuckles start to poke at his skin.
"Kyle, let's go." Kitty said, tugging on his arm.
"Wait." Kyle said. "What do you mean by, names?"
"Kadrien. Weapon Alpha Strike-"
"Enough." Jean said as she stormed in the plane with Storm. Kyle was dragged away by Kitty, but turned to look back at Magento, who's mouth twitched with an evil smile. John entered the plane, and sat across from Magento.
"SO, they say you're the bad guy." John said.
"Is that what they say?" Magento asked, still smirking at Kyle.
John nodded, clicking his lighter. "That's a dorky looking helmet. What's it for?"
"This dorky-looking helmet is the only thing that's going to protect me from the real bad guys." Magento raised his hand slightly, and John's metal lighter floated towards the metal manipulating mutant. "What's your name?"
"John." He answered.
"What's your real name, John?"
"Pyro." John answered. Most of the mutants made up a code name. Bobby was Iceman, Kitty called herself Shadowcat. The X-men had names like Cyclops for Scott, Marvel Girl for Jean, and Storm for Ororo.
"Quite a talent you have there, Pyro."
"I can only manipulate fire." Pyro answered. "I can't create it." Magento realized the two had something in common. Magento couldn't create metal also.
"You are a god among insects. Never let anyone tell you different." He handed the lighter back to John.
The plane flew for a while until it reached Alkali Lake. The plane landed near the base.
"All right, this is a topographic map of the dam," Storm said, pointing at a map on the computers. "This is the spillway. You see the density changes in the terrain? They're tire tracks."
"That's the entrance," Logan pointed at a certain place on the topographic map.
"Mm-hmm," Storm agreed. "And this shows the depth of ice that is covering the ground. Now this is recent water activity."
"If we go in there, Stryker could flood the spillway," Jean pointed out.
Storm gestured towards Kurt. "Can you teleport in there?"
Kurt shook his head. "No. I have to be able to see where I'm going, otherwise I could wind up inside a wall."
"I'll go," Logan offered. "I have a hunch that he'll want me alive."
"Wolverine," Magento addressed, "Whoever goes into the dam needs to be able to operate the spillway mechanism. What do you intend to do? Scratch it with your claws?
Logan griminced at him. "I'll take my chances."
"But I won't." Magento said, turning to look at Mystique.
Minutes later, Mystique had broken into the underground facility.
"I'm in." Mystique spoke through her com.
"She's good," Logan admitted dryly.
Magento rolled his eyes. "You have no idea."
Kyle watched the matter, and his foot twitched up and down as he waited for a chance to escape. Jean, Storm, Logan, Kurt, and Magento left to raid the control center of the facility. It was now just Kyle, Kitty, Bobby, Rogue, and John. They sat in the X-Jet for nearly an hour before John could handle it anymore.
Snap.
John clicked off his lighter.
"That's it." John mumbled. He stood up.
"John what are you doing?" Kitty asked.
"Whoa," Bobby stood up, "Where do you think you're going?"
"I'm sick of this kid's table stuff." John answered, pulling on his jacket. "I'm going in there."
Kyle stayed silent. He was thinking the same thing.
"John, they told us to stay in here," Rogue pleaded. "Look, I hate it too, But they said it's too dangerous for us. Do you want to get hurt?"
"You've caused enough trouble already," Kitty pointed out.
"Do you always do what you're told?" John retorted. The four other teens stayed silent. John opened the hatch to the ship and left. Kyle's leg bounced up and down, as if he was going to burst.
"Kyle?" Kitty said.
"You're not going to leave too, are you?" Bobby asked.
"I have too." Kyle answered. Taking a deep breath, he told them about his amnesia, his flashbacks, and connection to Logan and Stryker.
"Do you have to go? You'll get hurt," Kitty said.
"This is probably the only chance I'll ever get to find out about my past." Kyle said. "Besides," Kyle unsheathed his claws, and the other three drew back in shock.
"I got some tricks up my sleeve." He answered. "You guys need to move the X-Jet closer to the facility. I'll meet you there after I get some answers." He zipped up his jacket and picked up an empty backpack with the X-logo. He ran down the steps just as Kitty caught up with him.
"Wait," Kitty said, panting. "I'm worried about you, Kyle."
"Don't be. I'll be back." Kitty hugged him, and Kyle froze.
"Do you want to know what I said to you yesterday when we were crashing?" Kitty asked.
"You can tell me later. I have to hurry. The dam could open any minute." Kyle answered. He ran towards the facility, while Kitty stood at the entrance of the plane.
"Don't die." She whispered.
Kyle entered from the opening Mystique had gone through. Slinging the backpack onto his shoulder, he entered the underground facility. He shivered as a cold breeze went through his spine. He fingered two long claw marks on the wall. A sudden flashback made him feel colder.
"Raaahhahhhh!" Kyle was strapped with his arms crossed as four guards dragged him back into the building. There was blood all over Kyle, but the blood wasn't from him. The blood on his claws belonged to the dead security guards littering the ground. Kyle's claws unsheathed as he tried to break out of the guards' grasp. His claws poked from the strap-jacket and plunged into the wall, slowing down the guards as they tried to push him forward. His claws dug a slash into the wall.
"Get the taser!" One of the guards said. A device plunged into Kyle's back, releasing volts of electricity into his body, which traveled through his electric-conductor adamantium coated skeleton. Kyle- who was called Kadrien at the time, let out an ear piercing scream, and his claws sheathed.
Kyle gasped as he drew his hand away from the wall and continued on. He walked past a lab and into one of the rooms that had a bunch of shelves and documents. Kyle skimmed through the drawers, which each was labeled from A to Z. Kyle opened drawer A. He opened a folder that showed a picture of a boy with a disoritated face. The person's name was Victor L'Amour. Kyle flipped the page to see more information on this person, and a red stamp on it said, Deceased. Kyle's heart quickened in beating as he frantically closed the folder, slipping it into his backpack. Kyle skimmed to the K-section, but it was only deceased children with the last name K. Kyle saw a separated section that said Alpha and Beta. He opened Alpha to find a picture of himself on the second page.
"Project Alpha X-Stryke," Kyle read. "Kadrien Stryker-" Kyle froze. What in the world? Kadrien was what Willaim Stryker called him at the mansion. Why was his last name Stryker? Hold up. William's last name Stryker was spelled similarly to X-Stryke, with a 'y' instead of an 'i'. Was Kyle, or should I say, Kadrien Stryker the son of-
"Hello, Kadrien."
Here's you teasers. Who do you think is talking to Kyle?
"Kill Him, Alpha Strike,"
"You can walk through walls,"
"Cerebro,"
