Sunstreaker POV
A half-hour passes before I realize has Jamie even eaten today? Most likely, she fell asleep from crying before eating breakfast.
"Have you eaten yet?" I ask her.
"No," she replies, knowing I do not like her answer.
I get off the bed, walk to the side of the bed she's lying on, and pick her up, expecting her to fight me, but she lets me pick her up, puts her arms around me, and rests her head on my shoulder.
This isn't like you. I don't like how depression makes you submissive.
Sideswipe comes downstairs with me. He texts Crosshairs in case the two mechs go upstairs before us. I laugh at myself while trying to think of what to make, knowing Jamie won't eat much, remembering Jamie complaining her niece barely eats unless it's snacks. A grilled cheese sandwich should be enough until dinner. I made one for each of us.
Sideswipe POV
What worries me is if Jamie's only eating because Sunstreaker is around and will be angery if she doesn't eat.
I don't like how depression makes her submissive. Sunstreaker tells me, which is surprising. He'd love if every human was submissive.
Ten minutes pass before we follow Jamie back to her room. Sunstreaker leaves me to watch Jamie while he goes back to our room. I know he's working on something for Jamie.
As we watch YouTube videos, it dawns on me; we're missing a piece of the problem, but like the rest of the issues, there's nothing we can do — at least nothing to take care of the issue within a week. This is going to be a long process, to if we can even resolve the issues.
Crosshairs and Drift return an hour later. Its amazing Crosshairs was able to keep Drift away from her for a good two hours. I tell them Sunstreaker made her lunch, and she ate before leaving the room.
"What's with you?" Sunstreaker asks as I sit on my bed.
"Later, when we talk with the others," I tell him and lay on the bed.
We wait until Jamie is asleep to talk. I hate to add to everyone's worry, especially when there's nothing we can do. Crosshairs and Drift hated hearing Sunstreaker tell them he feels she only ate because he was with her.
"So, what have you been thinking all afternoon?" Sunstreaker asks.
I sigh, "I hate to remind everyone, but you know how much Jamie loves animals? While she says the dogs were like her kids, they were like her friends. Though I think the fact she thought of them as her kids makes this harder. They were her only friends in her dimension."
"And her parents say no dogs unless she moves into her own apartment, and you saw her post talking about why she doesn't move out," Drift adds, "she doesn't even want to live here."
"Sometimes it's annoying how complicated she is," Sunstreaker comments.
"This can partly be resolved," Vivian points out.
"I don't know, Vivian, she's still saddened talking about Buddy and when she sees the pictures of the three dogs," Drift tells her before going to Jamie's room.
"Jamie even told us she'd love a German Shepherd puppy but can't do it all over again even if it's twelve years from now," Crosshairs explains.
No one knew what to say; no one was in the mood for the usual venting. Everyone but Crosshairs goes to their rooms.
Crosshairs POV
Drift sits at the desk in Jamie's room, but I know he's thinking about sleeping with Jamie. She wouldn't mind; the problem is his nightmares. It would be great if being with her keeps the nightmares away, but do we dare take the chance?
"Sunstreaker came here last night; he said she slept all night," I tell him.
"You know how quickly that can change."
"And you know how depression makes her tired, she'll be ok.
Drift kisses his girl, and we go to his room.
"I hate this; how different would things be if we met her sooner?" Drift asks as he sits on the bed.
"I know our relationship is different than Jamie's relationship with the others, even Prime, but I don't think we wouldn't be in this position if we met her sooner, unfortunately. Everything was fine until a couple of years ago, though she still struggled emotionally and mentally; it wasn't as bad as now. You know Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Prime say Jamie has always struggled, but this is unbelievable."
"I can't take seeing her so depressed."
I hug him as he begins to cry, "I know, we all are."
I'm so tired of Drift's sadness, watching his girl in a depressed state. Watching my two friends feel this way, and there's not much I can do.
I told Drift I'd stay with Jamie, hoping it's enough to keep him from having nightmares. Though I will be checking on him.
"I wish you understood how much we love you," I say out loud though Jamie is sleeping.
Everyone has a king-sized bed, so I can keep s good distance between us, not that she'd be mad if I was sleeping close to her. My plan is to get a little sleep before checking on Drift.
