Chapter 6 – Legendary Heroes

One Year Later – June 2011

Adora rushed quickly to a meeting with Fury, she was expecting a new assignment. As she burst into the room, Fury was already speaking with Barton. The two stopped briefly to give her a look, "you're late." Fury deadpanned.

"Sorry, Sorry! I came as fast as I could!" Adora replied, standing at attention. "What's the assignment Director Fury?"

Fury showed them images of a desert area in New Mexico. "Not long ago, Agent Coulson came across an object crash-landed in New Mexico. It's giving off incredibly powerful electromagnetic readings, and nobody has seemed to be able to even MOVE it." he explained calmly. "You're both being sent to assist in Security detail while the research teams find out just what the hell it is and where it came from."

"Yes sir. Do we have any idea what the object looks like?" Clint asked.

"Well according to Agent Coulson….a hammer." Fury replied, with an annoyed sigh. "I've had a hell of a week, this is the least insane thing I've seen."

"A….hammer?" Adora asked dumbfounded.

New Mexico, SHIELD crater research site:

"It is a hammer. A Hammer stuck in the ground" Was all Adora could say seeing the 0-8-4 they were sent to guard embedded in a rock. Clint had made an attempt to lift it, but it didn't even budge. When he looked expectantly at Adora, she put her hands up. "No. Not touching that until we know what is is." she said before he got any ideas.

"By the time we got here, there was practically a massive festival of people trying to pull it." Coulson chimed in walking over. "Even tore the bed off an old man's truck."

Adora looked the hammer over. "Looks to be of...Scandinavian make. Possibly Norway." she explained. "Don't know how its giving off energy readings. It looks like just a normal short war-hammer." She examined the side and saw a strange symbol on it. "So we're just security then?"

Coulson nodded. "Consider it an easy job. Not much happens out here." he told them, walking off.

Clint and Adora walked away from the mystery hammer and began their patrol. "Clint, does Nat have such a bizarre job right now?" Adora asked, already feeling done with the day.

"Believe me Adora we have it easier," Clint replied, "Nat's babysitting Stark." Adora stopped in her tracks and gave Clint a look that can only be described as 'Are you fucking kidding me?' Clint just slowly nodded in response.

"Why? I thought he was already scouted?" she asked.

Clint chuckled, "Because it's Tony freaking Stark. Fury's 90% sure he's going to end up blowing it somehow and wants to see what he's really like. ESPECIALLY after his little display at the Senate." he explained.

"Oh yes, when he 'successfully privatized world peace'" she said in her usual Deadpan, mimicking Tony's double peace sign, which prompted a rare laugh from Clint.

"Man, you really don't like Tony do you?" Clint asked her as they entered another section of the makeshift facility to grab some food.

"He's a Narcissistic, reckless, alcoholic, rude, and WAY too sarcastic pain in the butt Clint. Also that beard is just ugly." she replied filling her plate. "I get the feeling if he was on the Avengers he'd be even MORE full of himself that he already is." She sat at a table across from Clint. "Hey Everybody look at me! I'm so awesome that SHIELD scouted me to be part of their team! Suck on that everyone else!" she announced, imitating Tony's mannerism and slightly imitating his voice.

"Wow, you're good at that Adora, ever think of working as an actor." Clint snarked back and the two shared a laugh.

When she was done laughing, Adora simply said. "Well something's gotta be entertaining here. I mean really, what even remotely interesting is gonna happen in the outskirts of such a small town?"

Adora and Clint sprinted through the hallways as the alert sounded, rain pouring outside.

Clint leapt onto a scaffolding being lifted by a Crane. "I'm going to have the target in sight if Coulson calls the shot. You make sure he doesn't get near the 0-8-4." He shouted as he was raised high in the air. Adora Saluted and went on the hunt.

The day had STARTED normal, more mundane patrolling, studying the artifact. The most interesting thing all day was SHIELD confiscating the equipment and research notes of a local scientist, Doctor Jane Foster. Some weird research on wormhole theory, Adora was told. It was a few moments ago that security had caught that one of the perimeter fences had been breached, and next thing Adora knew, the alarms were blaring and several SHIELD agents were being beaten up by an intruder who appeared to be headed directly for the hammer.

As Adora rounded a corner she noticed a hole was torn in the "Wall" of the base, and saw a large, muscular blond man fighting with one of her fellow agents. Despite the other Agent being a big guy himself, the blond soon brought him down with a full force Dropkick. Who the hell IS this guy?! Adora thought in surprise as he walked right back inside. She quickly flipped over the railing and landed between him and he Hammer. "Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to stay right there and surrender." she told him, putting on an authoritative voice.

The man seemed to just smirk. "Look, young lady, I have no interest in fighting a child." he said, trying to push past her. This was a bad idea, as Adora suddenly shoved him back and delivered a leaping haymaker across his face, knocking him flat onto his back. He rubbed his cheek in amazement and chuckled, "Well now you pack quite the punch young one. Like Sif in her youth." he stated, getting back to his feet.

"Okay first of all, I'm 16. I'm not a kid. Second, I don't know what that's supposed to mean but I'm not playing around." she retorted, delivering a punch to his side and going for a leaping roundhouse. The Man caught her leg, but she swung her other leg to kick him across the face, causing him to tumble on the ground.

He felt at his mouth and simply smirked, "Very well, then show me what you can do." He announced this while rushing at Adora. The two grappled for a short time, and Adora was amazed at the man's strength. He definitely had a bit of weight on him over her, but what she had was much superior training.

Or so she thought.

Despite managing to land a number of solid blows on him, he soon began matching her moves blow for blow, absolutely dumbfounding her. After getting into another grappling lock, Adora managed to land a knee directly in his gut and flip-kicking away from him. But he STILL wouldn't fall. "I have to admit, you've the blood of a warrior miss. What is your name?" he asked seeming more amused with the fight than she was.

"Agent Adora Greyskull..." she replied, wiping the blood off her mouth, from a solid punch he had landed.

"Well, Lady of Grey Skulls, I do genuinely respect a warrior of your caliber. It is a shame we are in opposition, I'd very much enjoy to spar with you on friendlier terms." he declared, sounding far more wordy than she expected from someone like him.

Despite being ready to go another round, Coulson spoke through her Radio. "Stand down Adora. He wants the Hammer, I want to see where this goes."

"Coulson, you're seriously gonna let this nut job grab the-" she began to protest.

"Agent Greyskull that's an order. If he can lift it, then maybe we can learn more about it. If not, then you can bring him into custody and we can ask him directly." came Phil's reply, and Adora complied, lowering her fists, to the surprise of he blond man.

"Go on, take it. I've been ordered to stand down. But when you fail, I'll be taking you into custody." she explained.

He simply gave a boisterous laugh. "When I succeed, you'll see just who it was you managed to keep up with." he declared arrogantly gripping the handle and pulling….to no avail. His smile faded and he pulled harder and harder, before seeming to notice the markings on the side and falling to his knees letting out an anguished scream. Adora admittedly was shocked by his reaction, and a bit sad. It reminded her of Catra whenever she failed a training session. But then Coulson gave her the order to apprehend him, and so she approached the man, handcuffing him and being met with absolutely no resistance.

The man was in custody for at least an hour as Coulson tried to get anything from him. No matter what though, he wasn't saying a thing. He just looked so….broken. Adora began to actually pity him, and went to go speak with Clint about what had occurred. Not long afterward though, Phil asked her to follow him as evidently, someone was coming to ask for him.

"Doctor Donald Blake..?" Adora repeated in disbelief.

"He's an acquaintance of mine, works with us on the project you all confiscated." the older man, identified as Dr. Erik Selvig, explained. "he was absolutely crushed when it was all taken. That was his life's work you see, he just wanted to come get it all back."

Adora and Phuil just sat there listening as 'Dr. Blake's' credentials came up as false. "Would you care to explain how a scientist managed to tear through my security forces?" he asked, not buying the story at all.

"Steroids! He's a fitness nut." Dr. Serlvig lied through his teeth.

Adora was about to say something before Phil stopped her. "Go grab Doctor 'Blake' from his cell." he ordered before whispering, "I have a plan, don't worry."

Nodding and giving a salute, Adora went to the cell and approached the large man. "Doctor Donald Blake or whatever your name is." He looked up to see her, "Come on, your friend Selvig is here to take you home." she said, removing his binds and leading him towards the entrance.

"I wasn't lying before, Lady Greyskull," he said, quietly, giving a weak smile. "You are a hell of a warrior. I respect that."

Adora nodded, a bit flattered, "It's a long story. I was intended to be perfect." she replied, before handing him off to Selvig.

As the two left, Coulson yelled after him, "And Keep him away from the bars!" Before turning to another pair of agents and ordering them to tail him.

Adora let off a massive sigh, "How can this assignment get weirder..."

"SERIOUSLY! WHAT IS WITH THIS TOWN!?" Adora yelled as the unknown, chrome, bipedal machine blasted apart the SHIELD vehicles with what could only be described as a Face Laser, and stomped towards town. It appeared to arrive in the exact same manner as the hammer, and was very much a hostile element. The Agents' weapons didn't even scratch it, so the best they could do was hurry to the town and start evacuating it.

And as if the day couldn't get any weirder, four renaissance fair rejects began fighting the machine, Donald Blake stood up to speak to it, yelling about 'Loki,' and was killed when it backhanded him across the face. Then, the hammer began moving.

And then 'Donald Blake' turned into the God of Fucking Thunder and obliterated the machine.

Suffice it to say, Phil Coulson was very justified when he approached Thor and said, "Doctor Blake, I don't think you've been entirely honest with me." After some back and forth about Thor wanting to deal with his brother Loki, he flew off with his friends as Phil desperately called after him, needing to debrief him.

So needless to say the flight back to Washington was interesting.

"So, that mission really just happened." Adora said, deadpan.

"Yup." replied Clint

"We just found Mjolnir in the middle of the desert." she began.

"Yup." he replied again.

"I fought a de-powered freaking THOR to a standstill." she continued.

"Yup" he replied again.

"And then we got attacked by an alien machine and he blew it up." she finished.

"Yup." he yet again replied.

"Clint?"

"Yeah Adora?"

"What the actual fuck was that week?" She said, before finally managing to fall asleep.

Little did she know how much weirder things were about to get for her.

"We found Captain America."

Adora remembered when Fury made that announcement. Phil immediately asked to be assigned to guard the frozen Super Soldier's body and was granted the job. Adora always did find his fascination with the hero to be adorably childish. For her part, she wanted to be kept up to date with what was going on. According to Fury, despite being frozen into a Capsicle, he was somehow still alive and well, and SHIELD was working hard to thaw him out and wake him up to the modern day.

She knew that it would be one hell of an awakening...she was right. In like, five minutes he put several SHIELD agents through several walls, and bolted out into the center of New York, with Fury quickly arriving and having to give him the bad news.

As the Captain sat in a SHIELD medical bay, Adora decided to introduce herself. If the Avenger Initiative was ever put into action, they would be a team, so might as well get to know him. She politely knocked on the door frame as he looked up. "Sorry, just wanted to stop by and introduce myself." She said, walking in and sitting by his bed.

Steve looked her over and was in completed stunned surprise. "How old are you?" he asked.

"Sixteen, but believe me, I'm a special case." She replied, leaning forward. "My name is Adora Greyskull, Captain Rogers."

"Just Steve's fine, thanks." he replied. "Interesting name, Greyskull. What nationality is it? If you don't mind me asking."

Adora chuckled, "Actually I picked it, based off a cartoon from when I was a kid. It was called 'She-Ra, Princess of Power.' SUPER goofy, but enjoyably so." she said with a smile.

Steve tilted his head. "You Chose it?"

"Well yes," she began. She took a deep breath and spoke up, "I...was created by… a Madwoman. Born in a test tube to be a super soldier like you." she explained. His eyes widened, and she continued. "I'm a genetically enhanced Child soldier. I was supposed to be a trained killer, and then I found SHIELD. They saved me. Took me in. So, I work for them." She finished off with a small smile.

"I am so sorry to hear that, Adora." he said sadly. She responded by giving him a playful whack on the arm.

"Honestly, things have been pretty good for me with SHIELD. I think you're going to like it in the modern day. I'm even willing to give you a hand if you need it." She said cheerfully. "Now come on, 'Captain America,' cheer up."

Steve couldn't help ut smile at the girl's enthusiasm, and the two just happily talked over the rest of the day.

Later that day, Fury was called to speak with the medical staff at the Triskelion, something about an interesting development involving Captain Roger's blood.

"This had better be important, what did you find?" he asked.

The researcher took a deep breath, "Well sir. We ran tests on Captain Roger's blood, and came across something...peculiar in our database in the process." he started to explain, bringing up the data they had on file about captain Roger's updated samples. "We cross referenced his blood to see if there was any connection to the serum in Adora Greyskull's blood."

"And?" Fury asked, impatiently.

"Sir…. it's more than a coincidental match. It's nearly exact. It's very likely...well...that she was created from him." he explained, showing the matching data.

"You mean to tell me she's his kid?" he asked, genuinely surprised.

"A bit more than that sir. She's his CLONE. I'm completely at a loss for how it was managed, any blood that the Followers would have had on hand should have been unusable for such a thing." the researcher explained."Not to mention the fact that it would be completely insane for them to have the capabilities to clone him in 1995, her estimated birth year."

Fury stared long at the data. "Figure out how they managed to clone a full human embryo doctor. This is important information. If they managed to clone Captain Rogers, AND create that Catra girl… what the hell else are they capable of. In the meantime, keep this under wraps for now." he ordered.

"But sir, shouldn't we tell Adora about her father?" the researcher said.

"And I will. But right now isn't the best time. Captain Rogers only just thawed out. The shock of finding out he has a little girl would be a bit much for him right now. We need to ease him in more carefully." Fury decided, turning and leaving the room.

To Be Continued:

And yet another 2am upload! I SWEAR I'm not doing this on purpose! There are just moments where I get hit by a massive wave of inspiration.

Same for the erratic release schedule of this story. Some days I'm inspired, some days I'm just not feeling it. But for now, the build up is finished. I've been very much looking forward to the next few chapters~

I do not own She-Ra or the MCU, all characters belong to their respective owners.I HAVE NOT SEEN FURTHER THAN SHE-RA SEASON 1. I apologize for adding this to every chapter but I really want to avoid as many spoilers as possible.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated. If you like what you've read, leave a review please. As this is my first, motivated story I like to see that my wok is being seen and enjoyed. Furthermore, I would like to know areas I can improve and if people enjoy the twists and turns of the story.

NEXT TIME: Avengers, ASSEMBLE!
