Chapter 6

Nya and Carol stood there defenseless in the cage. Well, Nya was completely defenseless considering the cage was made of venge stone. Carol's powers were known as Light Magic and venge stone causes her powers to grow stronger, almost to the point to where they were uncontrollable, especially if her emotions turned towards negative thoughts. But that's not something Ultra Violet needed to know.

But even if there was nothing the girls could do, they still wanted answers. And Ultra Violet decided to stick around to watch them wallow in their conclusion to give up, so finally figuring out what's going on may be up to their advantage for once.

"Alright, Ultra Violet, no more playing around," Nya said, "Tell me why you're having this matrimonial ceremony. You wouldn't do something unless it's for a good reason."

Ultra Violet cackled like a terrifying witch. "Well, since you're both pretty much powerless, I see no harm in telling you. The whole reason for this is to bring back Princess Harumi from the dead."

Nya gasped. "You can't do that! Harumi was a part of the Sons of Garmadon with all of you. She was the Quiet One, the most dangerous member."

"That's why we want her back! We've been having some trouble finding Garmadon, so rising Harumi back from the dead is our next best bet. But we had to lie and say this was a matrimonial ceremony so nobody would be suspicious of what we actually plan to do. In order to bring back someone from the dead, there must be a sacrifice. And of course we chose a ninja to sacrifice because that's one less hero that will stand in our way. Plus it was stated that a ninja must be sacrificed in order to bring her back. Never stated a specific ninja so we just chose the strongest."

"So this was a trick the whole time?" Carol clutched the bars of the cage tightly, "You just wanted an excuse to kill a ninja. There is no way I'll let you bring harm to our friends!" She had no plans on her crush being sacrificed to bring back some crazy princess. Her hands began to glow brighter than ever before. This only happened when she was surrounded by large amounts of venge stone, meaning she was about to release a power nobody wanted to stick around for.

"What the…" Ultra Violet backed away.

said,KAI!" Carol shouted, the cage breaking into a million pieces. Venge stone lied everywhere in the room.

It was no sooner did a fight break out between Carol and Ultra Violet. And boy was Carol's anger showing by the way she punched Ultra Violet's face to a bloody pulp. It showed well on her face due to all the makeup the crazy woman always wore.

Nya decided to take this opportunity to find where Murtessa and the others took Cole and Jay. Hearing noises coming from the room in front of her, she saw the ceremony was about to happen. Not only that, but she also witnessed Murtessa trying to attack the thugs and destroy the place. She probably found out she had been tricked just to help Ultra Violet prepared for a sacrifice instead of actually having the one chance to be with Jay.

"I don't take kindly to liars!" Murtessa shouted in anger, "Weird Lady Violet told me I could marry Ninja-Jay! Why did she lie to me?"

"Because that's what she does!" Jay yelled, "She gets other people to do her dirty work! And because of that, Cole's about to be sacrificed! Somebody help!"

"I'm going to kill Weird Lady Violet!" Murtessa screamed, throwing a chair across the room.

Too late for that, Nya said in her head, Carol's already taking care of that for you.

Nya spotted some thugs about to place Cole in the flames of a bonfire. The poor master of earth was begging for his life.

"No, please!" begged Cole, "Please don't do this to me!"

Preparing her powers, Nya shouted, "Water!" Using water from a busted pipe under the floors, she directed her element to put out the flames right at the moment Cole was about to be thrown into it. The poor ninja in black suffered a few minor burns on his left arm and cheek, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle.

"Get her!" one of the thugs shouted as he and the others began going towards the water ninja.

But Nya was prepared with her signature move. "Ninja Go!" Using spinjitzu, she took down each of Ultra Violet's lackeys one by one. One of the thugs was able to escape her water twister, but he was soon hit in the head by a chair and knocked out before he had the chance to fight Nya.

The master of water saw who saved her. "Murtessa?"

Murtessa placed the chair down and sighed. "Ninja-Jay told me everything. You truly are his betrothed. You will do anything to help save him and the rest of your ninja friends. I am sorry for all this. Perhaps maybe we can finally see eye to eye for once and consider each other allies?"

Nya nodded. "I don't see why not."

It was that moment when the doors flew opened, revealing a very ticked off Ultra Violet and an injured Carol who was slung over the crazy woman's shoulder.

Ultra Violet looked crazier than ever if that was even remotely possible. She obtained a good amount of injuries of her own, especially on her face, which made her look like a creepy clown. None of them were sure how she did it, but the biker lady was able to somehow defeat Carol as she threw her down on the ground.

"This girl let exhaustion take over her," Ultra Violet said, "All those negative emotions caused by the venge stone caused her to overuse her powers, making it easier to defeat her. But it looks as though the ceremony was left incomplete considering you're still alive." She pointed at Cole.

"Give it up, Ultra Violet," Cole told her. "It's time to take you back to Kyptarium Prison where you belong."

"For what?" Ultra Violet asked, rolling her eyes.

"For trying to kill Ninja-Cole and for lying to me!" Murtessa shouted.

"Fat chance that'll ever happen!" Ultra Violet took out a match and lit it. "Good thing I already covered this place with gasoline. If I can't get rid of one of you, I'll just get rid of all of you. A few less heroes in this world won't make a difference." She reignited the flames in the bonfire pit, except this time with all the gasoline, it'll burn down the entire factory. "Good luck trying to escape this!" Using a strange teleportation power, she sent herself and the downed thugs scattered everywhere out of the building to a different place.

But Murtessa had been left behind, confusing Cole. "Why didn't she take Murtessa?"

"Murtessa was just a pawn in this whole scheme," Nya told him, "Ultra Violet led her into a fake promise."

"I should've known Ultra Violet would never go out of her way to marry a ninja. Sorry to say there's not a wedding anymore, Murtessa."

"I don't care about that anymore! If I ever find Ultra Violet, I will kill her on the spot!" Murtessa clenched her fist.

Jay coughed. "Forget about that! We need to get out of here!"

Cole picked up an unresponsive Carol and the five of them escaped the burning factory in the nick of time before the whole place exploded. When they arrived outside, a crowd of first responders had already surrounded the building, helping the five right away with their injuries. Wu and Kai were also there, not hesitating to rush up to them.

"Are you all okay?" Kai asked.

"I think we'll be fine," Nya said, "How did you guys know we were here?"

"We found the note Carol left on the dining room table and used the tracking device that you had on the main computer. It showed you both were here."

"We called for help in case any of you needed medical attention," Wu said, "And it looks like you all do."

Luckily, Jay and Nya came out with only a few scrapes and bruises. Cole had some minor burns. Carol was the only one who suffered with injuries which included a dislocated shoulder, cuts and bruises, but she was also chilled to the bone.

"Looks like she's going through a case of hypothermia," the paramedic told them, "Luckily we have a few things to help with that until we can get her to the hospital."

"I feel like…wanting to fall asleep," Carol said, trying to close her eyes before the paramedic shook her awake.

"Whoa, not so fast," the other paramedic told her, wrapping a blanket around her shoulders, "We need to keep you awake until your body temperature returns to normal. After that, you can sleep all you want."

"How did you get so cold?" Cole asked, placing his hoodie over her like a blanket.

Carol shivered. "U-Ultra Violet placed s-some sort of freezing s-sensation through me. A-Apparently she has s-some sort o-of ice p-powers."

Cole placed a hand on her uninjured shoulder. "Don't worry. You're okay now. Hopefully we won't have to worry about Ultra Violet for a while."

Carol smiled. "Y-You mind coming w-with me? I c-could use s-some company."

"You'll have to come with us, anyway, sir," the paramedic told him, "You'll need to get those burns checked out."

Cole nodded. "Let's head over there, then."

Cole and Carol were helped into the ambulance, waving to the others and letting them know that they'll keep them updated on everything. After going through rounds of apologies, Murtessa was taken by one of the police officers who would help her get downtown to the station. They would have someone from the Explorer's Club help to return her home in the morning.

Kai and Wu decided to head off to the hospital to help Cole and Carol out while Nya and Jay decided to drive home in the car Nya brought with her. Nya would've drove home, but she had such a headache that she actually vomited in the parking lot. Jay figured it was because she inhaled too much smoke when they were inside the factory while it was burning to the ground so he decided to take the wheel.

While they were driving home, Jay decided he wanted to ask to make sure she was serious. "Nya, I really want to know. Are you serious about wanting to marry me? I just want to make sure. Are you sure you want to marry me?"

Nya smiled. "I've never been more serious about anything in my life. But I will admit that it would've been nice if it had been more romantic."

Jay sighed. "I'm sorry, Nya. I promise I'll find a way to make it up to you."

"You don't have to, Jay. You already did."

Jay gave her a bewildered look. "How?"

"With you just being the best you."

Nya laid against Jay on the ride home to the monastery. The both of them were happy to know that things were back to normal. That everything would finally be okay.

That things were finally peaceful once more.
