Wolfie: I still do not own anything related to Night at the Museum. I am almost half way done with the movie which means that the chapter's about the first movie will soon be coming to an end. Which means that you will get to see some chapters that will fill in the timeline gap that we have between Night at the Museum and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. This is because there is a two year gap between the first and second movie as we do not know what transpires during that time except for the fact that Larry quits. So I'm gonna do maybe one or two chapters, maybe even three, of stuff that happens after the first movie and before the second one. Now then, please read and review.

Chapter 6: Second night part 1
"Larry?" Cecil asked as he pocked his head through the open door, seeing Larry as said male was geared up and in uniform. "Just wanted to say to say good luck, son." He explained as he walked in followed by Gus and Reginald.
"And good-bye. We're clocking out for the last time." Reginald said as all three of them stood infront of Larry.
"If you're ever in Boca, look us up." Cecil instructed as Larry put something in his locker before shutting it.
"Whoa, wait, you guys are going out of town? What if this doesn't work out?" Larry questioned as he was skeptical that this would work even if he did find things that would help him get through the night.
"Smart fellow like you, you'll be fine." Reginald reassured as he knew Larry would get through the night just fine.
"Yeah, we'll just be a phone call away. Come on. Walk us out." Cecil said as he placed his hand on Larry's back and nudged him towards the door as Gus followed the two of them.
"Uh, you fellas go ahead. I, uh... I-I-I need a moment." Reginald stammered out as he covered his face with his hand, seemingly distressed.
"He's very emotional. A lot of memories in this room." Cecil explained to Larry as they were standing in the doorway before they all left.
Once they were gone Reginald uncovered his face, having lost his distressed appearance as he looked at the empty doorway for a moment to make sure they were gone. Then as he pulled something out of his coat pocket he went and opened Larry's locker, searching for something as he pulled out a key chain from Larry's normal clothes. Checking the doorway and hallway once again he opened the thing he had in his pocket which was a metal box with green imprint putty inside of it. Finding the key that was clearly the house key he pressed it down into the green imprint putty, taking an imprint of both the front and back of the key. Then he closed the box, putting it in his pocket as he put the keys back into their proper place before leaving the guards office and then the museum like he hadn't just done that. Later on as the sun was beginning to go down Larry began to put his plan into action as the first thing he did was break off one of Rexy's rib bones and tied it to the back of the toy yellow jeep. Then as he checked his watch he grabbed his duffel bag and quickly hid behind the reception desk, using the remote control to drive the car around just as Rexy woke up. Seeing his bone getting dragged across the floor caused the T-Rex to wag his tail excitedly as he chased after the car, Larry ducking before he could get hit with the dinosaurs tail.
"Ha ha! Go crazy, big guy." Larry said to himself before using a rubber band to make it so the remote control would make the car drive around all on its own.
The next exhibit he visited were the Neanderthals as Larry saw that once again they were rubbing sticks and rocks together attempting to create fire. Since they seemed harmless and fairly easy to distract he decided to help speed up their process in their quest for fire as he saw no harm in this part of the plan. Hence why he brought the lighter as he pulled it out of his duffel bag whilst walking up to the display that was supposed to be one of those caves by the ocean. Sure it maybe crazy, giving a lighter to four cave men but what was the worst that could happen, it's not like they'll burn the museum down.
"Hey, guys." Larry called out catching the attention of the four Neanderthals. "Quest for fire..." He trailed off as he held up the lighter, opened it, and showed them how it works before closing it again. "Over. Knock yourselves out." Larry said as he tossed them the closed lighter and continued walking down the hall.
One of the Neanderthals caught the lighter as all of them were now crouched on the ground looking at the little object that would finally help them create fire. As Larry went down the hall he made it so he would slide across the floor and come to a halt infront of the Easter Island Head. The big stone head wanted gum and it took a while and was a tedious and one might say gross process but he had acquired quite a hefty amount of gum. Hopefully this'll get the big statue off of his back about the whole gum thing and maybe he'll even stop calling him dumb-dumb and will call him Larry.
"Morning, Dumb-Dumb." Larry greeted as he looked up at the tall head made of stone.
"Me no Dumb-Dumb, you Dumb-Dumb. You bring me gum-gum?" Easter Island Head asked as he seemed to have a hopeful look but it was hard to tell.
"Yes, I did, fathead. Lots and lots of gum-gum." Larry stated as he pulled out the huge wad of gum and held it up for the statue to see.
"Mmm...!" Easter Island Head hummed happily at that as he was given his gum.
Once again sliding to a stop this time inside the diorama room Larry put his duffel bag down and pulled out the protective hockey glove and put it on and quickly headed towards they Mayan diorama. The Mayan miniatures quickly noticed him as they shouted in their native language as they armed themselves with their blow dart guns and began firing at the night guard. Larry however was cleaver and used the padded guard on the back of the glove to protect himself from being hit by the darts as he slides the glass lined gate on their exhibit closed. With the gate closed the darts were now harmlessly bouncing off of the glass panels that had clearly been installed by the old night guards at one point in time. Most likely when they found out that the Mayan's liked to shoot blow darts at them that were coated in some kind of numbing or even a paralysis type of liquid that they somehow have access to.
"What's that? I can't hear you through the... glass." Larry said to the Mayan's who were still yelling and shooting at him as he knocked on the glass he was talking about. "Sorry." He apologized with a small shrug but obviously wasn't sincere about the apology.
"Heave! Heave! Heave!" Octavius ordered to his men in the far left corner of the Roman diorama as Larry came to lock them up for the night as well.
"Hey. What's going on over here?" Larry interrogated wanting to know why the Roman miniatures were trying to knock down the exhibit wall.
"We expand or we die." Octavius explained as he glanced at Larry before looking back over at his men who had stopped since he wasn't giving them any orders. "Heave! Heave!" He continued to order as the six soldiers holding the battering ram keep ramming it against the wall.
"On the count of three, I want you to blow this anthill to kingdom come!" Jedediah said from over in the Wild West diorama causing Larry to walk over and see that they were trying to blow up the mountain. "And a one!" He began to count down as he stood a few feet away from his men who were ready to push down on the dynamite trigger.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, hey." Larry called out trying to get Jedediah's attention.
"And a two!" Jedediah said still continuing the count down till detonation.
"Jed, stop that. No, no, don't do that. You blow a hole in your mountain, all you're gonna hit is a wall." Larry explained which finally got Jedediah's attention.
"Step aside Gigantor! We got us a railroad to build. We're blowing a hole in that thing." Jedediah said whilst looking at Larry as his men behind him were waiting and talking quietly amongst themselves.
"OK, first of all, enough with the Gigantor giant stuff, OK? I'm just trying to close up shop." Larry said once again trying to make Jedediah see reason.
"We're gonna blow it anyway." Jedediah said having no respect for Larry at all as he turns back towards his men. "And a three!" He said which finished off the count down as they pressed down on the lever, but only a little puff of smoke happened.
"Yeah, poof. Wow. What are you doing?" Larry interrogated once again as he looked at Jedediah who was not happy that blowing up the mountain didn't work.
"What's it look like we're doing? It's manifest destiny. You can't fight it, and neither can I." Jedediah said to Larry with annoyance and irritation in his voice before walking over to his men. "Go! More dynamite! Yeah, use it all! Whoo!" He encouraged as they were going to blow up that mountain one way or another.
"All right, OK." Larry said to himself as he went back to the Roman diorama, luckily it was right next to the Wild West diorama so he didn't have far to go. "Listen, Octa-vus, you got to stop that." He ordered as he looked down at the Roman general.
"It's Octavius, Mary." Octavius corrected with a slight roll of his eyes at the fact that Larry got his name wrong. "Heave!" He continued to order as he looked at his men once again.
"OK, you know what? Fine, great. Here you go." Larry said as he picked Octavius up by the red mo-hawk thing on his helmet. "That's what happens." He said as he walked over to the Wild West diorama still holding the Roman by his helmet.
"You cannot do this. I am a Roman general. I-I have rights." Octavius protested as he hangs in the air by his helmet.
"And you." Larry said as he picked up Jedediah by the back of his vest.
"Hey! No, put me down! You can't stop progress!/Keep heaving, men! I will return." Jedediah and Octavius shouted at the same time as Larry carried them over to a nearby bench.
"We're gonna have a little talk." Larry said to the Roman and cowboy that he was carrying.
"Put me down!" Jedediah shouted as Larry set him and Octavius ontop of the back rest of the bench. "I told you, I don't like to be manhandled!" He said as he stomped his foot slightly in anger whilst the Roman next to him just fixes his out of place helmet.
"No, I will manhandle you, Jedediah. Now, listen, guys, what is your problem, huh? Why can't you just get along?" Larry asked wanting to know why Jedediah and Octavius constantly insist on fighting with each other.
"Look, we're men. We fight, OK? That's what we do." Jedediah said as his excuse for why him and Octavius fight each other every night.
"Kind of how we pass the time." Octavius said as his excuse for why he always engages in battle with Jedediah.
"Your like a giant, a freak, if you will. We can't expect you to understand that." Jedediah stated since he really doubted Larry would understand how they feel about this.
"You guys got the whole room to run around in. You don't have to be near each other." Larry explained whilst motioning to the whole diorama room.
"What, you mean...?" Octavius started to ask as he trailed off.
"You're gonna let us out? What, and just, just roam free?" Jedediah asked voicing what was obviously going to be Octavius's question as well.
"Yeah, yeah. I might, if you promise to behave. That means no fireballs, no explosions, OK?" Larry inquired after listing off his terms for allowing the two miniatures to have free reign of the room.
"You have my word, my liege." Octavius promised as he clenched his fist and crossed his arm diagonally across his chest and bowed in respect.
"Yeah, no-no problem-o, Gigantor." Jedediah promised as well after glancing over at Octavius for a moment.
"Um, my name's Larry, first of all, OK? Jed. So I call you Jed. I don't call you Tiny, right?" Larry asked as he hoped he was getting his message across to Jedediah.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Jedediah questioned in confusion as he was clearly not getting the message.
"Hey, Teeny. How does that sound?" Larry inquired as he was basically asking how Jedediah felt about nicknames that mock his height.
"I-I don't like it. It hurts my feelings." Jedediah said as he really didn't like feeling small.
"OK, well, "Gigantor" makes me feel like some sort of freak, so, um, you know..." Larry trailed off not knowing what else to say in order to explain that to Jedediah.
"I don't. I-I just call you Larry." Octavius butted into the conversation clearly trying to get on Larry's good side.
"Don't be a kiss-ass, OK?" Larry asked whilst pointing a finger at the Roman general though it was more of a declaration causing Octavius to back off for now. "Now, look, I'm trusting you guys, all right? Now, if you don't do what I say, you're gonna end up like your little buddies in the Mayan world over there. Locked up. Take a look. Do they look happy?" He questioned as he pointed towards the Mayan diorama that was behind the two miniatures.
"No." Octavius replied with an almost sad frown.
"They look sad." Jedediah deduced as he was frowning in an almost sad way as well.
"'Cause they can't do what they want to do. Now, I'm letting you guys have a little bit of leash here. Don't choke me with it, OK?" Larry asked and was relieved when both miniatures nodded in understanding. "I gotta run. You guys play nice, OK? Ok, good, thanks." He said as he then left Octavius and Jedediah to enjoy the freedom he had given them. "Hey, how's that gum treating you, Dumb-Dumb?" Larry inquired curiously as he had to pass by the Easter Island Head, who was blowing a huge pink bubble, on his way to his next destination.
"Hmm." Easter Island Head let out a happy grunt in response.
"Good." Larry said glad to hear that the statue was content as he dropped his bag down and was about to close the gate to the Hall of African mammals when he heard chittering behind him, it was Dexter. "Oh, hey, Dexter." He greeted as he looked over his should at the seemingly innocent Capuchin monkey that was behind him. "I'm just locking up. You want in?" Larry asked as he motioned towards the exhibit room with his thumb as he keeps looking down at the little monkey. "Yea? Whoa. All right." He said as Dexter climbed up to his shoulder and then used his shoulder as a jump off point to get to one of the trees inside the exhibit, chittering cheekily as the night guard begins to close the gate. "Oh. What's that? You got my keys?" Larry asked as he held up the empty clip that used to hold his keys, watching as Dexter held up a ring of big plastic colorful keys having thought those were his actual keys. "I don't think so." He remarked as he pulled his real keys out of the breast pocket of his jacket, shutting the gate completely as he locked it as the troublesome Capuchin looked mad.
After ending a very weird one sided baby talk with Dexter that would make anyone cringe Larry snatched up the baby key's that Dexter had thrown through at him that had slipped through the bars. Then he put them away and picked up his duffel bag as he went in search of Teddy, heading to the exhibit room that held Sakagawea, the stage coach, and the Civil War soldier's. He assumed that the wax figure of the 26th United States president would be there and thankfully he was as the night guard walked over to him. Though Larry was a bit curious as he saw that Teddy was once again looking through his binoculars at something but this time he was hiding behind a tree instead of riding Texas. Once gain Teddy was watching Sakagawea from afar, feeling that it was better to admire the beauteous Native American from a distance rather than going to talk to her only to have his hopes dashed.
"Hey, Teddy." Larry said as he came to a stop next to the hiding president.
"Lawrence!" Teddy greeted excitedly as he hopped down from the ledge that was behind the tree and patted the night guard on the shoulder. "You impertinent pup, I knew you'd come back. You look like a man on a mission." He said having noticed the duffel bag that Larry was holding.
"Yeah, I'm gonna give it another shot." Larry clarified seeing as last night/this morning before the sun came up he seemed ready to quit.
Then as both Larry and Teddy looked towards where Sakagawea was Larry couldn't help but put two and two together as he glanced between Teddy, the binoculars, and a lonely Sakagawea. Said woman was just sort of walking around in a small circle in her section of the exhibit as she played with the beads and tassels that were hanging off of her braids. That really seems to be her only way to pass the time seeing as Lewis and Clark are content to argue with each other about directions all night every night from sunset to sunrise. He honestly would've noticed it sooner and by sooner he meant last night if he hadn't been worried about getting the chaotic museum back into line. Though honestly Larry can be a bit dense so even if he hadn't been trying to avoid dying from fear or dying by the hands of Attila and his Hun's he still wouldn't have noticed it.
"You, uh..." Larry trailed off as he pointed towards Sakagawea.
"What?" Teddy probed wondering what Larry was trying to say.
"You checking her out?" Larry asked curiously as he glanced between Teddy and Sakagawea again.
"Oh, the nerve. Checking her out? Ah, I've never heard of such a thing." Teddy said as he laughed it off, playing coy about watching Sakagawea.
"No, no, no, I'm just, I mean, 'cause, you know, she's... she's very beautiful." Larry complimented as he looked at Sakagawea for the tenth time that night.
"Beautiful? Ah." Teddy uttered as he looked through his binoculars again at Sakagawea as she was now kneeling and messing with some fake flowers in her exhibit. "Rather handsome woman, I suppose." He commented as he stopped looking through his binoculars.
"Yeah. I don't know. Maybe you should go, uh, go talk to her." Larry suggested since Teddy wasn't getting anywhere with just watching Sakagawea.
"Indeed! Bless you, lad." Teddy responded smiling as he slapped his hand against Larry's shoulder.
"Yeah. All right." Larry said as he left to continue his rounds for the night as he still needed to deal with Attila.
"Carry on." Teddy urged as he watched Larry leave.
"Good, see ya." Larry said as he walked out of the room.
Walking up to the glass that separated him from Sakagawea, Teddy tipped his hat in greeting to the woman infront of him as she smiled in response to that greeting. However as he tried to speak to her his nerves go the best of him and he ended up retreating out of the room in order to retrieve his horse whom had wandered off. This caused Sakagawea to watch him leave with a small frown as she had hoped that she would finally get to talk to Teddy, even if she can't hear anything on the other side of the glass. Meanwhile back at Larry's apartment someone unlocks the door with a key they have and walked inside the apartment with a purpose as they walked towards Larry's desk. Opening up the top right drawer they placed a plastic bag full of small items from the museum exhibits that were made of gold and assorted jewels before shutting the drawer. They were also wearing gloves as to not leave behind any finger prints as they left and locked up the apartment, leaving everything else aside from that one drawer untouched. Back at the museum Attila and his Hun's were sitting at the reception desk as some of them were just doing their own thing whilst Attila was trying to eat a pamphlet. Though he realized that it wasn't food as a disgusted look came over the Hun's face as he smacked his lips quite a lot at the taste that came from the piece of paper in his mouth. Taking a deep breath to prepare himself Larry hiked the strap of his duffel bag up higher on his shoulder as he walked up to the Hun's, clearing his throat to get their attention.
"There he is men, don't let him get away!" Attila shouted to his men when he noticed Larry as they all got up and were about ready to attack the night guard.
"No, no, no. It's OK. It's OK. You guys speak English? No?" Larry inquired curiously as he glanced at the Hun's that were surrounding him.
"Stupid night guard, we may not speak it but we understand it." Attila declared despite the fact that Larry can't understand him.
"Right, OK, I don't know what that means, and I know that you and I kind of got off on the wrong foot last night, but..." Larry trailed off as he sat his duffel bag down by his feet and clasped his hands together infront of him. "...a little birdie told me that somebody likes... magic." He said making hand gestures at the word magic.
"Magic?" Attila uttered skeptically in English with a raised eyebrow.
"Magic... sorcery." Larry said deciding to use a word that Attila would understand more than magic.
"Ah, sore-sore." Attila said confirming that he now understood what Larry meant by magic.
"Yes, illusions. Everybody likes magic." Larry stated as he then pulled out a bouquet of magician flowers that he had hidden in his sleeve as the Hun's gasped. "And flowers. People like flowers. There you go. Those are for you." He said as he handed the flowers to a Hun warrior that took them and looked at them in awe. "You know what else people like? Money. The almighty dollar, right?" Larry questioned as he held up a silver dollar, waving it around as a curious Attila follows it slightly as he looks at it. "But money can sometimes... disappear." He explained as to the Hun's it seemed like he made the coin disappear but really it was just hidden in his other now closed hand.
"Oh!" Attila breathed out in shock and awe as his men whisper amongst themselves for a second.
"At least that's what I..." Larry began to say before trailing off as he reached over to Attila's ear, pulling back his hand as he revealed the coin as if he pulled it out of the Hun's ear. "Hear." He finished as he showed off the now reappeared coin to the surprised Hun's as Attila started feeling at his ear in confusion. "No wonder you can't understand me. You've got a coin in your ear." Larry said with a smile as he motioned towards his own ear with his free hand.
"Ah ha! This night guard may not be so bad, he is a sorcerer." Attila spoke to his happily laughing men with a smile on his face whilst pointing at Larry.
"Oh, check this out. Anybody need a hankie?" Larry inquired as he put the coin away and pulled out a hankie that was made to be four different colored cloth blocks that were red, blue, yellow, and green. "Well, I wouldn't suggest this little feller, 'cause he has a nasty habit of vanishing..." He explained whilst shoving the hankie into a finger cover that looks like a thumb as he had it on his actual thumb when he showed it to the Huns as they gasped in awe. "Into thin air." Larry breathed out though Attila had lost his smile since he saw part of the hankie poking out of Larry's "thumb" which made him realize that the trick was fake as he went up harshly grasped Larry's thumb. "Ow, no, no, don't that defeats the... Don't, don't... Ow!" He began to protest as Attila ripped off the thumb cover with a popping sound and pulled out the hankie.
"He's a fake! Grab him men!" Attila yelled whilst waving the hankie around as his men screamed chased after an equally screaming Larry but they quickly caught him as four men brought him back to the enraged Hun, holding him in the air by his limbs. "You will not get away with pretending to know what you call... magic... now." He growled out to the now helpless night guard that was at his mercy. "Take hold of his limbs. Pull him, stretch, rip him apart!" Attila order whilst pointing and then made a ripping gesture with his hands as his men begin to do just that.
"Not the limbs. Guys, please, do not tear the limbs!" Larry pleaded as the sleeves on his jacket were the first things that began to rip as they hear an elephant trumpeting from a floor above them.
