Moments in Time
Author's Note: This will be a collection of one-shots and drabbles of moments between Ron and Hermione. They might be during Hogwarts, after Hogwarts, pre-battle, pre-epilogue etc!
None of them have any connection to each other. They each stand alone.
Fluff, smut and maybe a little angst ahead!

Title: Lunch date
Idea: Ron and Hermione are so busy with work that they decide to schedule a lunch date to ensure they spend some time together. Someone else has other plans.
Timeline: pre-epilogue, shortly after marriage
Ron whistled as he walked down the hallway from his office at the Ministry. He was on his way to meet Hermione for lunch, since they'd both been so busy at work lately that they hadn't spent much quality time together. Their busy days turned into exhausted nights, so their evenings were suddenly spent catching up on sleep on the sofa, or Ron was carrying Hermione to bed and the day was gone. They both always made time for each other, but when you have high ranking positions in your departments at the Ministry of Magic, finding spare time was rare and difficult. So, the day before, they had sat down and planned out some time to spend with each other in the week that followed. One of those planned times was lunch the day after. They both promised to take the full lunch hour and wrap up any work beforehand because this was important.
Ron couldn't help the pep in his step as he approached Hermione's office. He nodded and waved to those around him as he made his way to her door. What he found when he approached, though, took the smile off his face.
"Forget about the lunch date you mentioned, we need to finish these documents, Hermione. Let's have a working lunch." Ron's eyes narrowed as he heard a voice, a man's voice—which was awfully familiar—telling Hermione to skive off her lunch with her husband, to have lunch with him.
Bloody tosser, I'll fucking tell him where to go.
"I'm sure I'm better company than he is, anyway." Came that voice again. I know that voice.
"No, Cormac, I told you, I'm meeting Ron for lunch, and I mean it. We can finish the documents later." Hermione's response was firm and unyielding.
Cormac?! McLaggen?!
Ron's fists clenched at his sides and he took a deep breath, trying to steady himself before he walked into Hermione's office and hexed sodding Cormac McLaggen.
"Ready for lunch, love?" He said, keeping his voice calm as if he hadn't just heard that wanker hitting on his wife. Both Hermione and Cormac looked up at the sound of his voice. Hermione smiled at him and when Ron's gaze went to McLaggen, his face showed the complete opposite of a smile.
"Weasley." Came McLaggen's voice, disdain dripping from his tone.
"McLaggen." He responded evenly with a nod. He went over to stand next to Hermione, reaching a hand around her waist and planting a kiss on her lips in greeting. She flushed like she always did when he kissed her in front of others.
"Hi, love. Been looking forward to this all morning," he said softly to Hermione, ignoring McLaggen completely. He could swear he saw McLaggen roll his eyes.
"I was just saying to Hermione that we have a lot of work to finish today and maybe she should skip lunch so we can ensure we complete it." Ron clenched his fist again behind Hermione, where it rested on the small of her back from his greeting.
"And I was just telling Cormac that I don't break dates with my husband for work that can wait until later."
Ron grinned triumphantly. That was what he loved best about Hermione. She didn't hesitate to tell it like it is and put people in their place.
"You heard her, McLaggen." He nodded his head in the direction of the door as if to say 'Beat it.'
Cormac shook his head and rolled his eyes. "I see you haven't changed much, Weasley."
"Nor has Hermione, it seems." Ron responded. "She rebuffed your advances at Hogwarts and she's doing it again now."
"Ron!" Hermione chastised, though he could detect a bit of a smile under her expression.
"Fine, we'll finish the paperwork later, Hermione." And with that he was gone.
"What the bloody hell is that git doing in your office?" Ron asked, turning to his wife. She rolled her eyes.
"He's the liaison for the case I'm working on, Ron. We'll be working together all week."
"I don't like the way he looks at you. Like you're some prize to win. You'd think he would have let that go after all this time. Still a smarmy bastard." Ron scowled, closing his eyes for a moment.
"It's only for the rest of the week. Likely less. I expect I'll be finishing this case early." She said, straightening some papers on her desk and flicking her wand to turn off the small desk lamp in the corner. "Now, are you ready for lunch? Shall we floo home, grab a quick bite and then use the remainder of our time getting reacquainted?" She gave him a suggestive smile.
Ron grinned. "You have no idea how much I love you, do you 'Mione?" He grabbed her round the waist and planted a heated snog on her lips. "Bloody brilliant you are. Now, let's go. I'm starving!" He wiggled his eyebrows at her and she giggled as he dragged her to the fireplace to floo home.
