A week later or so, my babysitting skills have improved a lot with Jonathan. The feeding part was a bit hard since it really was a guessing game, but sooner or later I started to guess the right food more.
I also started to play with Jonathan since I mean, that's what brothers do right? No matter, although Jonathan did try to swallow his shape toys this one time…
"Jonathan, the square shape doesn't go into the triangle hole. Jonathan wait don't swallow it eith-" I cut myself short as Jonathan was trying to SWALLOW the square shape.
I quickly took the shape toy out of Jonathan's mouth as Jonathan started to cry and bawl because I took it away from him.
…Uh oh, I think he pissed too. OOOOOHHHH FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
['Babysitting' skill has leveled up!']
[Level: 3]
[15% more chances to not let a baby cry, 15% better care for babies, and 15% less stress from taking care of babies.]
Oh, fuck off!
Had to change his diapers later after that, George was pretty proud of me and even called me a 'great brother' and that Jonathan was lucky to have someone like me.
My XP wasn't going up at all, though. But I didn't care as I pretty much enjoyed taking care of Jonathan. My [Babysitting] skill was currently at 6 which was pretty good.
[Skill: Babysitting]
[Level: 6]
[30% more chances to not let a baby cry, 30% better care for babies, and 30% less stress from taking care of babies.]
Oh yeah, and now Jonathan's basically attached to me now. Great! Not that I mind though, albeit he does start to get sad when I take a 'walk', do some other stuff outside, or just when I leave him alone.
…And the worst part is that George has finally started me onto some educational shit. Apparently, he decides to forget the whole public or even a private school plan, and decides to homeschool me.
…To be fair, Jonathan and Dio did the same thing when they were about the same age as me right now. Homeschool wasn't all that great, honestly.
"Nick, that's wrong. You don't divide by 4, it's 3 for a cone." George scolded me lightly when I got it wrong.
I scratched behind my head in embarrassment. I don't get math at all.
I wasn't exactly the greatest at math even if I had a decent amount of skill points into INT, in this world it was slightly better but I can't really see any difference. And it's not like I could get any smarter 'magically' because there wasn't exactly any way to get XP for the period.
No thieves, vampires, or even bullies! It was too peaceful. I mean, that's not necessarily bad but it's bad for my strength I suppose. (Not referring to my STR, just my strength in general.)
What the hell am I exactly doing to do? It's pretty boring these days honestly, wait a minute…
…I could just try exercising to improve my [Running] and maybe earn some otherskills, guess I haven't thought about that. I wonder if George has any exercise equipment? I exited my room and walked into George's room to ask if he had any.
I went to George's room and opened his door but George wasn't there but there was a paper on his table that had something written on it. I took a close look at the paper.
"Dear, Nick.
I've went to a trade meeting somewhere for the mean time so I won't be here for the reminder of the day I believe, if you need something please ask my servants.
Make sure to ask the servants if they have enough baby food, I believe I'm noticing a shortage but I've forgotten to tell them that, but I do not have time right now either as I am writing this. You may get some yourself if you would like as I have some spare money in my table.
You may get yourself some snacks too if you would like.
George Joestar."
…Darn. What's up with old fashioned British people and their weird handwriting anyways? I mean it's obviously for formality but it just looks weird to me.
Not that it mattered, I decided to go take another 'walk' and maybe buy some baby food for Jonathan.
Wait, Jonathan first.
I quickly ran back upstairs and walked into whatever room Jonathan was in, and luckily, he was still asleep. I sighed in relief as I went back downstairs-
…Maybe I could take some money, I could buy some baby food and maybe some snacks. I quickly (x2) went upstairs again into George's room, took some money-
…Wait a minute, why were there only coins? Oh right, it was Phantom Blood and Phantom Blood was in the 1880s or something. Whatever.
I'm pretty sure a cent was like a dollar in current time, so I took a couple coins and got out of the mansion. Now, it was time to get to a nearby city, get some baby food, and get myself some snacks 'cus I sure as hell want to try out what food JoJo has right now.
…Actually I don't think England really had any creative food, did they? Fucking fish and chips…
I finally made it to a nearby city by running and I managed to level it up!
[Skill: Running]
[Level: 2]
[10% faster running and 10% decrease stamina use when running.]
It was small, but it was still an improvement. I looked around the town. It was neat, and I think this was the same town that was features in the anime or something. Not that I remembered.
There were shops selling bread, fruit, vegetable, all sorts of that. But I was looking for baby food…
…Actually, now that I think about it weren't baby food invented in like 1920s or something? Oh, forget it. This is JoJo, anything can happen, and the timeline isn't exactly the same as real life's.
Probably.
But I digressed as I focused on looking for baby food, was it really that hard looking-
…Nevermind, I found one. At least, I think I found one. The store was kind of themed around for babies and such. I walked into the store to find me some baby food.
I looked around a few shelves until I finally found me some baby food and I remembered to get to get like 4 types of baby food due to Jonathan's weird… taste I suppose.
The cashier noticed me getting the baby food. "Those 4 are going to cost you about 4 cent, pay up."
I scoffed at the slight rudeness as I took out 4 cents out of my pocket and placed them on the cashier's desk. I walked out of the building as I put the baby food in my inventory while no one was looking.
Now, I was going to get myself something to eat since I was starting to get a bit hungry. I went into a oddly dark corridor to use as a shortcut until…
"Hey, rich asshole. Give me your money." A deep voice said to me in a rude tone behind me as I felt a hand on my shoulder.
I shoved off the hand off my shoulder and quickly turned around and dashed back.
[Buff Robber]
[Level: 3]
[HP: 1500/1500]
Ah, shit. Whoever this robber was seemed to be tough, and he was even buff. The hell did he call me a 'rich asshole' for anyways? Oh wait, it's my outfit.
The 'Buff Robber tch'd because of me quickly going back. "Slippery bastard, aren't ya? Well, you won't be so slippery anymore from my punch." He went for a punch.
Kuuuoooohh…
[Hamon active!]
[Effects: Slow passive regeneration and 10% damage buff.]
I ducked under the punch as I went for a gut punch right into the robber stomach.
[Damage inflicted onto 'Buff Robber' with [Hamon]! -200 HP.]
[HP: 1300/1500]
The robber then immediately started to cough some blood from the [Hamon]-channeled gut punch I did, he limped a bit but still stood strong. The robber had a confused expression for a second before getting angry.
He immediately charged at me like a rhino, I couldn't dodge it in time as the impact from the charge threw me onto the ground.
[Damage inflicted! -175 HP.]
[HP: 1025/1250]
I breathed again as I channeled my Hamon again so that I could regenerate, but I still needed that buff too. Maybe I should try punching multiple times quickly instead of just one strong punch…
I quickly stood up from the ground and went for a quick barrage of punches.
[Damage inflicted onto Buff Thief with [Hamon]! -75 HP + -75 HP + -75 HP + -75 HP = -300 HP]
[HP: 925/1500]
The buff robber fell to the ground from my quick barrage and coughed more blood out, that definitely did a number on him. The robber quickly stood up from the ground and STILL refused to run away.
"HOW THE HELL IS A RICH ASSHOLE LIKE YOU THIS STRONG?! WHAT EVEN IS THAT YELLOW SPARKLE COMING OFF OF YOU?!" The robber yelled at me in both confusion and anger.
I hmph'd. "Not that I'm going to reveal it to an asshole like you." Immediately after I said that the robber went for another charge but I quickly dodged it and kicked him from the back.
The robber fell to the ground as I quickly crouched near him, grabbed his head, and slammed his head onto the ground a few times.
[Damage inflicted onto 'Buff Thief' with [Hamon]! -100 HP + -100 HP = -200 HP. You have knocked out 'Buff Thief'!]
[HP: 725/1500]
[+500 XP]
[Skill earned: Unarmed Combat]
[Level: 1]
[5% stronger unarmed damage, 5% faster unarmed speed, and 5% tougher body.]
Nice! Finally got a skill, I was getting bored honestly. But why didn't I get this when I fought Dario before? Ah wait, it was probably because he was just too easy to fight.
This was the first time I've encountered an actual threat, so that makes sense. But now he's gotten blood on my suit, Christ.
Now I gotta wipe it off, if I can at least…
Maybe I could use [Hamon] to wipe it off?
