That Awkward Time I Fell In Love
Ch.6
Sasuke cleared Naruto's plan of getting Itachi a new coffee, so long as he got one as well, and told the blond which coffee shop to go to and wrote down the orders for both of them.
As Naruto got back, Itachi was just entering the elevator, he dashed to catch it, feeling the man would not hold it for him. As he entered, he saw the older eying the fresh coffee he had and smiled, handing him his.
Itachi blinked and smirked, accepting the offered drink. As he took the first sip, he blinked and looked to Naruto in question.
"Sasuke gave me what you prefer so I could order it," Naruto spoke while they rode up to their floor. "I've got one for him as well." He motioned to one of the cups in hand. The third was for himself.
After they reached their floor, Naruto took Sasuke his coffee, and seated himself at his desk to continue organizing the desk so that it made sense to him. As he finished, over an hour later, he received a text from Kakashi.
Kakashi: Just finished reading your book. I have a few things that I want to change. We can work on them tonight after dinner.
Naruto: Sure thing Kakashi.
After texting back, Naruto realized he was still at work, and should probably not be on his cell phone. Quickly, he turned it on silent and slid it into his pant pocket. Hopefully neither boss would notice, and if they did he really hoped he survived the lecture on staying professional in the workplace. After that internal debate, the young blond went back to work and managed incoming calls as they would come to him.
At the end of the work day, he felt a little accomplished with what he got done. Organizing the desk had been a big project that took most of the day, and the rest was transferring phone calls to one of the Uchiha brothers. Computer work, like scheduling appointments and meetings for the brothers, was also easier to do now.
As he waited for Sasuke to leave, he noticed Itachi walk towards him.
"Waiting for Sasuke?" he asked. Naruto nodded, not sure what to say, or rather what the man wanted to hear. "Hn. I'll see you tomorrow, Naruto."
Naruto blinked as the man walked off, then smiled. He was fairly good at interpreting Uchiha, courtesy Sasuke, and he knew most would find what he said to be a dismissal. But Itachi went out of his own way to talk to Naruto, and that alone was a complement.
