Satori lowered her power level and sat herself atop a desert boulder, motioning for Goku to do the same. Slightly disappointed that their fight was cut short, he followed her lead anyway, sensing there was a lot more to this "tear" that needed explaining. Her playful demeanour was replaced by tension as she began to recall the series of unfortunate events.

"After Frieza had been defeated, we expected an age of peace, at least for a little while. But as word of his end began to spread throughout the galaxy, it seemed to inspire the wrong kind of motivation. It opened the door for newer, stronger, and smarter enemies to make a name for themselves. Most of them were of little consequence, some of them difficult, but one group in particular became a real problem. They call themselves The Reign Corporation, and they are the last known descendants of the Tuffles, from our home planet, Vegeta."

"The Tuffles? I thought the sayains had wiped them all out?" Goku interrupted.

She nodded her head,"So did everyone else.", she said. "But not only did some of them survive, they also managed to genetically modify their offspring with sayain DNA. You see, their intellect was always superior to ours, but they were far too weak to rule a planet full of sayains, so after we invaded, they found a way around that weakness."

"Woah… so you're saying there's a whole other group of sayains out there that are stronger AND smarter than us?" Goku asked, the hint of excitement in his tone not lost on Satori.

"Not just a group I'm afraid, more like an army. They've been creating these super soldiers for years, but thats not even the worst part." She paused, and looked deep into Gokus eyes. "With the new found strength Reign Corp possessed, they were free to continue their obsession with technology completely unrivalled. They built an energy weapon so powerful that they themselves could not control it. It ended up tearing a hole right through our universe. At first they thought they had created a power that no being could match, but the tear... it kept getting bigger. And like a scar, it became permanent. Many Tuffians died trying to mend the hole, some fled, fearing for their lives, and the rest guard the weapon to this day, too proud of their creation to destroy it."

Goku took a moment to process the information. "So how do we fix it?", he said plainly.

Satori's eyes lit up immediately. After everything she told him, how is it that he wasn't the least bit reluctant to help her. She was talking about taking down the most powerful weapon in the universe, and he barely had to think about it. Incredible. She did her best to hide her shock, and hoped that he didn't change his mind when she told him what truly had to be done.

"Ive been trying to infiltrate Reign Corp's base for years, and a few months ago, I succeeded.

I stole a copy of the blueprints for the weapon itself, and after studying its design, I found a flaw. The weapon is powered by a crystal, and if we can manage to destroy it, im confident it would render the weapon useless. Reign Corp is well aware of this weakness so the Crystal is highly guarded and protected. Plus.. after my little visit, im sure they've amped up security 10 fold. They'll be expecting us, so sneaking in wont be an option."

"Not a problem, stealth isn't really my style anyway.", Goku retorted.

She smiled, "I noticed."

"So, once we destroy the weapon, will the tear mend itself?", he asked.

"Not exactly...if it were that easy I would've done it myself. You see, the rift has gotten so large that cutting off its source will no longer be enough to stop it, im afraid. That's where you come in, Goku." She paused, time to spill the proverbial beans.

"The only way to mend it, is to hit it with a massive amount of identical energy from both sides. There was no one strong enough to help me do so until now." she said, looking up at him hopefully.

"So thats why you wanted to spar earlier, you needed to see if i was strong enough to match your power.", he concluded.

"Exactly."

His eyebrows furrowed suddenly as a realization hit him. "When you say from both sides, you mean from the outside... and inside of the tear, don't you?" She cant be serious, he thought.

She looked away, hoping he'd somehow miss that little detail.

He protested, "Satori you can't, thats suici-" he was cut off.

"I'll fly into the rift, and as soon as i do, ill turn around and release the most powerful wave i possibly can, and thats when you follow suit from the outside. It has to be absolutely simultaneous, and our energy must be identical in power for this to work."

He exhaled, shaking his head in disagreement. If her plan worked, and their energies managed to close the tear, she would be trapped within the rift forever. Who knows what would become of her once inside of it. "There has to be another way, Satori.", he argued.

"I appreciate your concern, but Ive accepted this as my only option. I came here searching for power, not pity. If you don't want to help me, I understand, but I don't have time for you to wrestle with your morals. Are you in or not?", she asked sternly. She had spent more time here than she had planned, and the clock was ticking.

Goku lowered his head, avoiding her gaze. He didn't like this plan one bit. She shouldn't have to sacrifice herself to save a world she didn't help destroy.

Satori sighed and nodded her head in understanding. She didn't blame him, this was a lot to ask of a person she had just met. "I understand... i have to go." She began to fly away in search of the ship she landed in. Maybe he was right, if she could managed to destroyed the weapon herself, maybe the rift would just dissipate on its own.. she felt a hand grab her wrist. It sent sparks through her body that she promptly ignored. Why did he have this affect on her, why did he make her want to stay? She turned around to face him, "You can't stop me, Goku, I'm doing this with or without you, I don't have a choice."

"I know.", he said in acceptance. "I'm coming with you, Satori. Just lead the way."

Her heart dropped as a wave of relief washed over her. He meant it. Finally, all those years of searching for a solution paid off. As long as her plan worked, it would all be worth it. She grabbed his hand that was still clasped around her wrist, and searched his eyes for any hint of uncertainty. "Just promise me that when the time comes, you will stick to the plan and do what needs to be done."

He looked serious for a moment, and then his demeanour changed completely. "You worry too much! We'll burn that bridge when we get to it, okay? For now, let's just focus on actually getting to it, shall we?" He said with a smile.

She rolled her eyes, she was never going to get a straight answer out of him. It would have to do for now, she supposed. "Okay, follow me."
