Blaziken Lament
It's a Clear day in the Hoenn region making it an extremely hot day in Dessert of route 111. I Call out Vaporeon once again to fill up my canteen, making this the third or fourth time I had, and it was just starting to get to noon.
"Thank you Vaporeon I know it's hard on you to do this, but it really is helpful." I say scratching her head. "Now return and try to rest." I pull her back into her ball and stand back up. Looking around all I could saw is the sand dunes and a coming sandstorm.
"Blaziken Can you saw anything I can't?" I ask looking at him on one of the taller dunes. He leaped off and over to me.
"No other than the storm there is still nothing out there."
"There has to be one somewhere. After all this is the only place to fine Trapinch." I pull up my neck scarf Turing it into a mask and started my climb up the dune. After another two hours of walking a say Blaziken leaps into the air and making his way back to me.
"Did you saw anything Blaziken?" I ask as he lands next to me.
"There's a set of cliffs over that way." He says pointing to the north east.
"Alright thank you. Blaziken why don't you head back into your Pokéball." I say pulling it out and offering it to him. Blaziken just put his hand over mine shaking his head.
"Ok I understand. Why don't you go on ahead of me?" I say starting to head for the Cliffs.
"I'll do what I can Sealruin. If there is one there, I will do my best to keep it there for you." Blaziken says before he sprinted off ahead of me leaving a small dust cloud in his wake. Just before I was even halfway there the storm hit. I was forced to put my googles on and the force of the wind made me to have to walk at half my normal pace. If it wasn't for the tint of my googles, I would have lost my way more than once. A sudden burst of wind Hit me as I crested a dune making me fall to my knees. Once I got back up, I could saw several blurs spinning around me.
"What are these things?" I ask pulling out my Pokédex and trying to fallow one of the blurs. After a few failed attempts I finally heard It rings out. Holding it up to my googles to where I could get a good look at it, but the storm is making it impossible to saw what it said. I hunched over and blocked some of the sand with my other arm and tried again to look at my Pokédex. I finally got a good look at the screen and reached for a Pokéball. I had found what I've been looking for but how was I going to catch one in this storm.
"Flygon I wish to saw you." I yell trying to be heard over the wind which was now Howling around me. I slowly put my Pokéball back on my belt and raise my hands. The blurs stopped moving as fast and I watched as on creeped its way closer to me. Reaching out one of hands I watched as it cautiously got closer and started to nuzzle against it. The wind suddenly shifted and the storm around me broke as if I was in the eye of a hurricane. I looked around and saw not just the one but a total of Eight Flygon now surrounding me. There's a flash of red as Blaziken burst though the sand wall and skidded to stop at my side. My hand shot out and tried to stop him from doing anything more, but the damage was done. There was a rush of wind and the storm once again enveloped us. The flames on Blaziken's wrist go out and as I watch the Flygon turn and bolt off.
"I'm sorry I didn't know." Blaziken yelled stepping closer. "Though the storm I couldn't saw what they were."
"Blaziken stop there gone." I say sawing him start move to chase them. "It's okay I'll just have to continue looking."
It was another hour of navigating though the storm to get to the cliff side. Once there Blaziken lead me to a cave so we rest inside. I call out my Vaporeon, Swellow, and Serperior while pulling off my mask and googles.
"Vaporeon how are you feeling?" I ask looking at her. I slumped against the wall and slide down until I was sitting.
"I am alright, I would have stayed out if you asked." She says laying her head on my lap. All I could do was shake my head and smile.
"I know but I wouldn't want you to get hurt. I will continue hear in a bit so don't get to comfortable." I take a drink from my canteen and end up drinking the last of it. "Before we go could you fill up my canteen again Vaporeon?"
"I don't." She says shooting a low powered water gun into my canteen once again. I put the cap back on it and return everyone except for Blaziken not that it was any us anyways he always just brought himself back out.
"Alright let's go. Did you look further down this cave?" I ask replacing my gear inside my bags.
"I didn't go too far but it continues for quite a while." He replies standing up.
"Alright then Look like we found our next step." I say looking out to the storm and then further down the cave. There were several Sandshrew and even a Dwebble at first, but the cave was nearly devoid of Pokémon after the first few turns. Twenty minutes after our last battle I could make out a light in the distance.
"Hey. What do you think you're doing here?" I hear a voice shout out. There's a scream and I run up to the edge of the opening and look in. Looking out I saw a wide-open area with magnificent wall art, and analyzation equipment, and several men standing around a small bug Pokémon. I pull out my Pokédex but drop it before it was done, because one of the trains One I Knew all too well approached the Pokémon. Standing over the thing was Hadar the man that had attacked me and "give" me my gift to talk to Pokémon. He gave the creature a smile as it looked at him before kicking it and making it fall onto its side. Luckily the Pokémon and the wall art had most of their attention otherwise what I was about to do wouldn't work
"I might just keep you since you have enough sprit to come right up to me." He says picking up an iron rod. He made to strike at the Pokémon, but I Slammed my shoulder into his back making him stumble and fall over. Blaziken forces two others to the aside as I Grab the Pokémon and start running back to the entrance.
"Let's go?" I shout. Turning back to saw him kick one of their Pokémon lifting it from the ground and sending it flying into some of the equipment. Without a word he turned and started to run back the way we had come from. I heard the man lets out a shout and look back all the color in my face fades as the horror of what I saw sank in. There before me was my Blaziken sanding still and clutching at the piece of steel that is sticking out from the middle of his chest.
"You take from me. I take from you. " Hadar says standing up straight. "Destroy the cavern. " He continues walking off. I ran over to my Blaziken and put my arm under his and start helping him out. When the first explosives went off, I guessed we were only a third of the way out of the cave. After the first I heard a Chain of explosions Causing the tunnel behind us to fill with a cloud of smoke. Blaziken tried to tell me something but I couldn't hear him over the rush of my thoughts and emotions. I could feel the sweat forming on my face as I half carried my partner and hear the explosions continue getting closer and closer. The Tunnel itself started to groan and shake at the disturbance by the time we came into view of the exit. An explosion goes off at the edge of the last bend causing me and Blaziken to look back. With a grunt of pain Blaziken lifted me off my feet and threw me the rest of the way out. After slamming into the sand and slide to a stop I scramble to my feet and saw the light of explosion thought the sandstorm. I stood perfectly still waiting to saw him and after a few moments I heard the rock and stone collapse. I heard a scream of pain from Blaziken and I fell the tears forming in my eyes. I ran to where the entrance was and saw nothing but a pile of stones. Wiping away the tears I pulled out Blaziken's Pokéball and took the chip out. It was glowing like it should, but it was starting to blink and fade.
Throwing the Pokéball to the side as the rocks stop falling and I start pulling them away in a frenzy of motion. There's a series of flashes but I didn't pay them any mind in my determination to get to Blaziken. I saw movement at my sides and the rocks start moving away faster. Eventually I was pulled away I turned and punched at what was pulling me away just to end up in a tight embrace. Serpirior had pulled me way while the others continued to more the stones. I griped her back tightly and could feel myself calming down. Once I had full calmed down, I wiped the tears from my eyes and looked back at what was happening.
The storm pasted as we worked, and it wasn't until the sun was going down that we moved a bolder and where able to saw an opening with red feathers inside. Moving away the rest of the rocks I saw my Blaziken laying there in the rock. Both his legs where crushed underneath a large boulder with another partially Impaled on the steel bar that was still though his chest. I fell to my knees and tears started to run down my face. My Serperior came to my side and nuzzles the side of my head as someone forces a Pokéball into my hand. I lift the ball and the beam shoots out and hits Blaziken,
Turning to leave a saw the strange Pokémon from inside and stopped. Now being able to saw it properly my jaw tightened. Even without my Pokédex I knew what it was, Vibrava the second stage of Flygon. My resolve was in shambles and all I could do was pull out a Pokéball and half-heartedly throw it. The ball didn't even get halfway before stopping. I looked away from the small bug like Pokémon and started to walk.
The walk back to town was long and the rest of the day is a blur and when I final came back to my senses I sat down and rested. Looking though my bag I found that one of the spare Pokéball I had was on my belt. Clicking the button to and holding it out I watched as the arch of light landed a few feet away from me. To my shook the Vibrava appeared and looked at me.
Once I was back to the center, I made my way to his favorite spot and started to dig. My Pokémon came up beside me and all started helping they even went so far as to make a crude head stone. Once he was buried and the stone was in place, I hit the button to reset his Pokéball. Hearing the mechanism start to erase his data I let out a wail of pain and sorrow.
