Life went on for Izuku, but with the addition of a friend. Training continued but now it included Shouto. Endeavor had yet to make Shouto do anything with Izuku's blood, but Izuku had been forced to amplify Shouto's quirk a few times. Izuku knew if he could, Shouto would never use Izuku the way Endeavor was making him do, but Izuku had told him multiple times that he didn't mind using it on his friend. Afterall, Shouto hated Endeavor as much as Izuku did.
"What if we collect evidence against my father?" Izuku blinked a Shouto's sudden outburst.
"Oh, I probably already have some," He supplied, "But there isn't really anyone to give it to."
"How?" Izuku gave Shouto a funny look, but he really saw nothing funny in having incriminating evidence.
"I hacked into the security camera feed a long time ago," Izuku shrugged nonchalantly. "But we've talked about this. Nobody will even hear me out, so I'm not sure what good it would do us."
"Oh."
"Yea, oh. Why? Did you have any idea of how we could use it?"
"Well I thought maybe there was a way to tell someone who wasn't the police? Maybe a civilian who would hear our cause? I'm not sure."
"Well, I guess we could always save it somewhere, and if there is ever a chance to use it, we can."
Shouto had an idea. It was a stupid and not likely ot succeed idea, and it involved taking to the flaming villain (Shouto had taken to calling Endeavor a villain in his head and to Izuku after he'd heard the boy call him that). He hadn't told Izuku of this idea because he didn't want to get the teen's hopes up.
Shouto now stood in Endeavor's personal office.
"Father," Shouto greeted formally. He had to tread carefully if he wanted this idea to work.
"Make it quick," Was the villain's response.
"I think Izuku should come to UA with me."
" What?" The question came out more as a growl.
"I think Izuku should go to UA with me," He stated again.
"And why do you think that, Shouto?" This was good. Endeavor was actually asking about it instead of an outright no.
"I think it could be beneficial to your goal to have him attend with me. You just keep him locked in a room all day anyways, so I don't see why not," Shouto had tried to keep that last bit to himself, but It had slipped out. He prayed that mistake didn't result in failure.
"...How could having the boy there help you become number one hero?"
"I'd think UA is vigilant enough, with a staff of pro heroes, to know if I was using blood to enhance my quirk. Especially because first years don't usually use support items. And even if the staff didn't figure it out, I'd like to think my classmates would question any support items I'd have, or at the very least, notice the smell of blood. So, having Izu-... Having the boy at UA would benefit me because he could amplify my quirk during the most important things like the sports festival. I also think sending him to school would be a good opportunity to have him strengthen his quirk because he'd be in a healthier environment," There he'd said it. Now Shouto would just have to pray for a miracle.
For a moment, Endeavor just looked at Shouto with scrutinizing eyes.
"Get out," It was said in a neutral voice, and Shouto wasn't sure if that was a good thing. Bowing, he quickly excited the stifling room."
"I did something stupid." Izuku looked into the pale face of his only friend.
"What did you do?" He questioned softly.
"I asked my old man if you could come to UA with me." Izuku blinked at Shouto in shock. He'd done what!? Izuku said as much. "I asked Endeavor to let you come to UA." Shouto had faced Endeavor to help Izuku. He didn't know what to say.
" Why?" Was what he finally settled on.
"Because you want to be a hero," He said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Izuku was stunned. Shouto had tried to help him become a hero. He had braved a villain (Endeavor) to try and help him.
Izuku started crying. "T-thank you," He choked out.
"Don't thank me," Shouto murmured softly, "He didn't actually say yes, he just kicked me out."
"It dosen't matter. Thank you for even trying. Thank you." Shouto said nothing as he wrapped him in a hug. "Shouto... do you think I could be a hero?" Izuku whispered it so quietly he'd barely heard it himself. But he wanted to know the answer, even if it was laughing, he wanted to know what his only friend thought.
"I think you'd be an amazing hero," Was the reply. That just caused Izuku to cry harder and mutter more half choked thanks.
"You'll be an amazing one too." Izuku said nothing as he felt a slight dampness from where Shouto's head was buried in his shoulder.
Izuku woke up the next morning, face still wet from the amount of tears both boys had shed last night. Shouto was long gone by now, but the lightness in his heart still remained.
The door slammed open suddenly to reveal Endeavor.
"Boy!" He practically shouted, "You will be going to UA with my Shouto!" Izuku tried his best not to burst in tears yet again.
