Draco missed his wife more than any words could ever express but being reunited with his little lady afforded him at least some level of comfort.

They spent their days together, Draco and the sack doll, just as he and Hermione had before her death. Hermione's little mini couldn't speak, but Draco prattled on to her for hours, enjoying the way she gazed up at him with her large, brown eyes, as if she hung on every word he said.

Retired, grieving, and bored, Draco eventually decided that he may as well sort through his mansion and choose what to do with some of his and his late wife's belongings.

It was Draco's hope that once he went to join Hermione, Scorpius would take over Malfoy manor. For that to happen, there were things packed away and entire closets full of old, useless junk that had accumulated over the years and needed to be cleaned out.

It amused Draco that during his efforts, every once in a while, he found a hidden gem.

Maybe it was an old photograph that had gone missing for decades or a souvenir from a family vacation taken long ago…….Draco was never able to predict exactly what he'd find each day when he went through another closet or an unoccupied room, but it could be entertaining.

During Draco's efforts, the little sack doll stayed loyally by his side, blinking curiously at the array of things that Draco rummaged through.

While he was cleaning out one of the heavy, mahogany cabinets in his large office one afternoon, he pulled out something small from one of the cabinet's drawers and frowned.

"Oh dear." Draco said with a sigh, holding the object up to his face so he could inspect it further, "How careless we've been…….I didn't realize this had been lying underneath all of that…..Come to think of it, I didn't know these could break."

The sack doll's brown eyes lit up at the glittering golden object that dangled from Draco's trembling hand.

With a quiet gasp, the sack doll watched as he draped the object's gold chain over a stilted quill holder on his desk, allowing whatever it was to rest in the same manner that it would if it were being worn around someone's neck.

A bittersweet smile crossed Draco's face.

It didn't matter that it was broken.

It didn't matter that the top mechanism had been loosened or the outer rings had been completely pulled apart.

Draco would never part with Hermione's time turner.

But the little sack doll had no idea what the time turner was or what it was capable of. Draco was so wrapped up in his study of the cabinet's contents that he didn't bother to explain it to her.

With the time turner swinging gently and securely from the quill holder, Draco slowly turned back to the cabinet drawer and resumed his task.

All he had found so far that afternoon were a pile of old tax documents and some ink wells.

The little sack doll had grown quite bored, but…….that gold, dangling object certainly looked interesting!

The little sack doll stood from her seat on Draco's desk and walked forward using her tiny, footless legs.

As she approached the quill holder, her large, brown eyes remained fixated on the dangling time turner.

Draco's little doll innocently wanted to play and with a bright smile, she decided that it would be rather nice to touch that shiny, piece of gold, whatever it was…...

With a happy chirp, the little sack doll leapt up and propelled herself through the air, managing to land right on one of the time turner's mangled, outer rings.

She would have been fine if it hadn't been broken.

The turning device at the top had loosened after years of being crushed under heavy weight.

The rings were so loose and wide she could slip between them.

While Draco's attention was still focused on the cabinet drawer and what it held, the little sack doll's eyes widened as her small weight triggered that loose mechanism at the top to start moving……..

For the first second, it was fun.

The sack doll squealed in delight as she clutched onto the time turner's outer ring, whirling around on it like an amusement ride.

Unfortunately, the motion on the broken magical object was similar to a sinister pendulum.

The golden rings began to swirl faster and faster and the little sack doll became worried when her speed became out of control. Looking nervously over at Draco, she saw his wrinkled face twist in worry and he stretched a hand out to rescue her.

But it was too late for that.

The little sack doll's squeals turned into sharp shrieks of terror as the room around her turned into a blur while the time turner's golden rings whirled at a furious, dizzying speed.

The frightened doll was too startled to jump off.

From her position, as she held on for her life, she was also tragically unable to stop her ride.

The little doll may very well have spun forever if the intense speed hadn't caused the damaged mechanism to break down completely.

The time turner came crashing apart, like a mirror shattering, and the little sack doll let out an impressive yell from her minuscule throat as she hurtled down, down, down……….

With a small thud, the little doll suddenly collided with something hard and unforgiving.

It was fortunate that she had no bones to break.

Letting out a tiny groan, the sack doll slowly lifted her head and looked up.

She frowned when she noticed that she was in the same room.

Breathing a tiny sigh of relief, she blinked as she thought vaguely that she should begin to search for Draco.

The floor underneath her trembled slightly.

The sack doll's brown eyes widened when she felt something wrap around her that barely covered her waist as it lifted her up from the floor.

Whatever held her in its grasp rotated her and the sack doll looked confused as she found……...Draco?

He looked so very different.

His eyes were still grey and his face was still pale, but the doll noticed he was much shorter and much younger, bearing no signs of age.

The doll glanced over and saw that he wasn't even able to see over the desk he was so small.

What happened to him?

Draco, or whoever was holding her, blinked at the doll curiously.

The sack doll smiled at the toddler that she believed to be Draco and the baby cracked a toothless grin back at her, clearly happy with his newly found friend.

The sack doll raised her handless arms up in a happy chirp and the toddler laughed, bringing her closer to his face.

Both of them were laughing as the little sack doll gently patted his cheek, which was soft and chubby, with her tiny, handless arm.

Eager to better understand his new companion, the toddler plopped down on his bottom and with all the gentle innocence of a sweet child his age, he carefully lowered his uncoordinated, pudgy fist down until he could release the little sack doll unharmed on the area of the study's floor that was in between his puffy little legs.

The tiny sack doll was more than content as the toddler began to play with her, but she blinked when a feminine voice called out from the hallway, "Scorpius…..? Scorpius, where have you wandered off to? I left you in the playroom for three minutes to speak to your father and you're gone forever?"

Scorpius's pale, blond head snapped over towards the doorway the instant that Hermione stepped into the room.

"There you are!" Hermione exclaimed once she finally found her baby. Her eyes narrowed though when she saw what he was doing, "Scorp, what is that? What is that thing?"

Scorpius laughed at his mother and gleefully told her about his new friend, "Doll, mummy! Doll!"

Hermione took a step closer and her brown eyes connected with the sack doll's as the two of them saw each other clearly for the first time.

"What is that thing, Scorpius?!?!" Hermione asked in an alarmed voice as her eyes went wide.

Before Hermione even got the words out, the little sack doll cried out shrilly and jumped over Scorpius's leg, fleeing into the recesses of the many books that lined Draco's study.

"What is that thing, Scorpius?!?!" Hermione asked her son again as he started to wail, lamenting the loss of his tiny friend.

The sack doll was terrified.

As she fled from the more complete version of herself, she wondered hopelessly where Draco had gone and how she would ever find her way back to him.
