On Friday (Nov. 17th), Maya and KC went up to do a song together. Maya said KC picked it, since they both like Taylor Swift. I saw Derrick walk in and sit down. He smiled at KC walking up to the stage.

"I think you all may know this song," Maya said.

"Hope you like it!" KC added.

She saw Derrick in his seat, then looked at Maya. Maya started playing her guitar.

(KC, Maya, Both)

I took a chance; I took a shot/ And you might think I'm bulletproof but I'm not/ You took a swing; I took it hard/ And down here from the ground, I see who you are

Wait, a second, I thought.

I looked at KC, she kept looking at Maya and at the ceiling, not Derrick.

I'm sick and tired of your attitude/ I'm feeling like I don't know you/ You tell me that you love me, then you cut me down/ And I need you like a heartbeat/ But you know you got a mean streak/ Makes me run for cover when you're around/ And here's to you and your temper/ Yes, I remember what you said last night/ And I know that you see what you're doing to me/ Tell me why

I looked at Derrick. He was bobbing his head to the music, but I could tell he was glaring at KC.

You could write a book on/ How to ruin someone's perfect day/ Well, I get so confused and frustrated/ Forget what I'm trying to say, oh

I'm sick and tired of your reasons/ I got no one to believe in/ You tell me that you want me, then push me around/

KC is smiling, but it's not real.

And I need you like a heartbeat/ But you know you got a mean streak/ Makes me run for cover when you're around/ Here's to you and your temper/ Yes, I remember what you said last night/ And I know that you see what you're doing to me/ Tell me why

Why-y-y do you have to make me feel small/ So you can feel whole inside?/ Why do you have to put down my dreams/ So you're the only thing on my mind?

I looked at Derrick again. He was smiling a smug smile.

And I'm sick and tired of your attitude/ I'm feeling like I don't know you/ You tell me that you want me, then cut me down/ I'm sick and tired of your reasons/ I've got no one to believe in/ You ask me for my love, then you push me around/ Here's to you and your temper/ Yes, I remember what you said last night/ And I know that you see what you're doing to me/ Tell me why, why?/ Tell me why/ Why?

I take a step back, let you go/ I told you I'm not bulletproof/ Now you know

Derrick stood up and started clapping, with a gigantic smile on his face. I clapped too, proud of her. KC walked off the stage and saw me. She started walking to me, but Derrick got in front of me and hugged her.

"You did amazing, Babe!" He told her.

"Thanks," she told him. He whispered something to her.

They walked out of Topanga's. I stared at the door. I knew I had to make sure she was okay. I walked out of Topanga's. I looked around, then I heard voices. I followed them.

"You really think you could pull a stunt like that?" I heard Derrick angrily say, his voice sounding like a growl.

Then I heard KC's sobbing voice say:

"It wasn't a stunt, Derrick, I swear! It was just a song."

"You know I know when you're lying," I heard Derrick's voice say.

I got to the side wall of the building and saw them. Derrick had KC pinned against the wall, with his face only an inch from hers.

"What's going on here?" I spoke up.

They both looked at me. KC's face was soaked in tears. Derrick backed away from her.

"Nothing," he lied. "Just a little disagreement."

"That was not a little disagreement," I countered him. I took a step forward.

"It was. I-It's fine," KC said.

My jaw dropped. She just lied to me.

"KC—"

"Now, we're going on a date," Derrick told me. Then he gritted his teeth, as he said, "So, excuse us."

They passed me. I followed after them and grabbed KC's hand.

"KC—"

They both looked at me.

"Let go of my girlfriend," Derrick ordered me.

I glared at him.

"You don't even deserve her," I told him, angrily.

"Farkle—"

"Stay," I begged her. "Do another song with Maya, spend time with your friends…with Aaron…please…just don't go…" Tears started forming in my eyes. "I know you don't want to be with him."

"This is your last warning," Derrick told me.

She slowly let go.

"Yes…I do," she lied, I could see it in her eyes.

"Please…KC…"

"I'm fine," she lied, "I'll be fine."

I watched as they walked away. Tears started streaming down my face. I heard the bell of Topanga's ring.

"Hey, Farkle," I heard Maya say my name. I looked over at her. "Woah, what's wrong? You're shaking."

"He had her pinned against the wall," I told her. "He was angry. It was like…like he was growling at her as he spoke. She was crying."

"Who?"

"Derrick…KC," I said. "I intervened and they both said that it was a little disagreement. I tried to get her to stay and not leave with him, but he said she was fine. Sh-she lied straight to my face. And that song you two just sang…"

"Okay, one: you need to calm down," she said, walking over to me. She took a hold of my arm and tried to pull me to get me to sit down.

"Stop, Maya!" I shook her off of me. She stumbled back, catching herself on the table. I looked at her horrified. "Maya! I am so sorry! I didn't mean to!"

I ran my hands through my hair, freaking out.

"I'm fine, Farkle," she said. I started hyperventilating. "Farkle."

She hugged me. I was shaking. After a couple of minutes, I hugged her back.

"I need to go home," I said.

"Okay," she said.

She looked at me worriedly. I have never had a panic attack in front of her before. I walked away from her and went to the Subway.
