Ch. 6 One For All Part One

We have successfully reached the sixth chapter in this story and for those of you were wanting to get back to Izuku, well that is what is going to happen in this chapter.

The manga readers will know what is happening and the anime only watchers, you have been warned about this story in the first chapter. In this chapter, we will start to learn more about One For All and the secrets behind the quirk.

You will also see a meeting between the predecessors and Izuku while he is in a coma and there they will tell him more about One For All and the reason why it was so fitted for Toshinori and Izuku.

I will catch back up with you at the end of the chapter to share my thoughts on this chapter and where we will be at going forward from this chapter on. Without further ado, let us get back in this story.

We appear in Izuku's hospital room with Pony and All Might watching over him waiting for him to wake up. Pony asks All Might "what is happening with Izuku" to which All Might says "I can feel One For All but only very faintly." All Might tells her "he is talking with the other predecessors of One For All right now."

Izuku is asking himself while in a coma "How's everyone faring, Aizaw sensei, Ryukyu, Gran Torino, Ida, Kacchan, Hado, Endeavor, Todoroki, Togata, Rock Lock, Manual." "Please be okay everyone." The next instant Izuku is in his consciousness with him and the other uses of One For All and the mood is serious.

Banjo says "before you wake up, we gotta have a chat." The second and third users are standing and staring at the wall and the other users are sitting in chairs surrounding Izuku. The fourth user says "this too is destiny", Banjo says "naw just a matter of timing." The sixth user then says "my esteemed colleague Bajo has already spoken to you a bit about this" and Nana and the flame of All Might are quiet about that.

Izuku says "all the predecessors are with me in a dream again" to which the first user says "before we could only interact with you by weaving through the interstices of your flickering consciousness, but that limitation no longer exists." The first user then goes on to say "about four months ago my power, that is to say One For All began growing rapidly. Along with the growth, the vestiges of the predecessors within One For All took on more solid forms, and now they are able to communicate with each other."

The first user also explains "earlier in the battle, my brother's power drew us out by sheer force, allowing us to appear before you more easily than before." Banjo then says "don't worry kiddo, we'll still give you privacy when you need it, oh right, you ain't got a mouth." Izuku then recalls back in the battle "I did manage to speak then, my mouth has formed just a little bit."

Izuku then asks "what do you need to tell me" to which the fourth user then stands before Izuku and says "allow me to explain." He then says "I am the fourth, my name is Hikage Shinomori. In your last battle, you drew on my power without meaning to" to which Izuku say "yuh" and recalls the ability danger sense. Hikage then says "that came as a shock to me" to which Izuku replies with "sorry."

Hikage then tells him "I get the sense that it would've been better for you to discover danger sense in a better setting." Banjo then says "Shinomori here was a weirdo who shunned modern society for the life of a hermit" to which Hikage then says "mine was a terrible era, they were the weirdos not me." Hikage then asks Izuku "do you happen to know how long I lived and what killed me?"

Izuku then says "you died at 40 and not sure what killed you." "It wasn't written in All Might's notes or rather it was like he wrote something but erased it." Hikage then tells him "I died of old age." Izuku then says "old age, he was only 40 though."

Hikage says "Banjo and I had no way of knowing my cause of death until Yagi told us after some research." Hikage then tells him "I'll get straight to the point. As of right now, One For All cannot be wielded by an ordinary person." Izuku says "huh" to which Hikage then tells him "I possessed One For All the second longest second only after Yagi."

He then says "for 18 long years I evaded All For One and devoted my life to building up my power." "from the moment I inherited the quirk, I knew that I could never defeat that villain, so I decided to spend my turn so to speak amassing further strength." "In my final years, these cracks appeared on my body."

Hikage then says "I thought it was an unknown disease of some sort or perhaps that I hadn't trained enough but when Yagi dug up my medical history and autopsy report, the truth became clear." "I say I died of old age because possessing multiple quirks effectively ate away at my very life."

Izuku then says in a surprised tone "your life, no way." "But hang on a minute, One For All only grew stronger after your time Shinomori and All might managed to hold on to it for much longer." The first user then says "that brings us to what we must tell you." "the others never held it for long, and since they died in battle, Yagi's only other point of comparison was himself, which is why when Yagi realized that possessing One For All places a terrible burden on the body, he thought the same thing."

"He thought about what Shinomori had that he himself lacked" and that is when Izuku realizes what that factor was and says "All Might was quirkless." The first user says "yes, Yagi still lives but the knowledge he gained was passed to us via his shade in here." "He couldn't be entirely sure so he didn't tell you but what my brother said confirmed it."

The first user then goes on to say "he spoke of how a person's essence is hardwired into their quirk factor, but then why would Yagi still appear here when he never had a quirk factor of his own." "all this time we believed that the raw spirit of us predecessors resided within One For all but in truth, those fragments of consciousness came about with the quirk factors of the second through seventh successors, that is what One For All contains. "Yagi is the sole exception. Only he imbued One For All with a true piece of his consciousness."

"a vessel with an existing quirk of its own could not receive One For All without warping and spilling and attempting to force it anyway results in a shortened life span as the fourth experienced." "for 40 years, Yagi maintained his grip on One For All, it was a perfect fit for his previously empty vessel and as such, it truly became his quirk." "By some twist of fate, this power that one must pass from one to the next, wound up being meant for those who lacked power to start with. They are the ones who can draw out its true value."

Izuku then says "you mean especially now that the predecessors' quirks are manifesting, I definitely can't pass this on to a normal person. One For All can't be transferred anymore, that's what you're saying." The first user then says "quirkless individuals have all but vanished in your generation and you're unlikely to come across another who needs such power." "none of us knew it at the time but as fate would have it, it passed into his hands and then yours. If only we had found a way to interact with the wielder sooner, so much pain and suffering could have been avoided."

Banjo then says "you get it now kiddo, you might be the last wielder of One For All." Izuku thinks about that and says "I might be the last one" and that is when Nana speaks up and says "that's the real issue. Now Izuku, tell me can you kill Tomura Shigaraki."

What a chapter this was with us learning about the true secrets of One For All and learning why it can only be wielded by Izuku because of his quirkless nature. Izuku just learned he will be the last one and it is up to him to stop Tomura, and All For One for good.

Nana leaving us on a ending like that, what will Izuku's response to her question be, well you will have to wait for the next chapter to find out. I was amazed when I read this manga chapter and I am sure you will all be amazed to read this chapter as well. We also got see all the wielders of One For All but we did not see the second and third users' faces or did we hear them speak.
