AUTHOR'S NOTE: For some context in this chapter, Martin and Lucy became a couple.

With Cyrus being gone and Peter focused on Emma's situation, Kristina turned to Alexis and Ned and whispered, "This is our chance."

"Our chance for what?" Alexis asked.

"To escape through the break room. Number One is gone and Three is focused on Emma. This is our chance for freedom. We need to create a diversion and get Ned to the break room as quickly as possible."

"Sweetheart, I want to get you and everyone out of here as quickly as possible, but this is risky."

"Mom! We haven't seen Dad for over an hour. He could be dead by now! We need to get Ned out now! Emma needs help. Dad is missing. Ava's been gone this whole time. God knows what happened to her. The time is now," Kristina asserted.

"No," Alexis sternly replied.

"Mom…"

"Alexis is right. It's too risky now. They could set the bomb off at any time. We need a different plan," Ned said.

"Ned. Come on…"

Alexis gripped her daughter's hand. "Look at me. We will get out of here. But none of us are moving. Period."

Over by Emma, Lucky muttered to Maxie, "How's her pulse?"

Maxie reached up to put her fingers against Emma's pulse point. "It's weak but stable."

"This pillow is absolutely soaked. We'll need to replace it with something else. Take off my jacket. We can use that."

Maxie started to peel Lucky's jacket off him as he lifted the pillow off of Emma's wound.

"Lucky, don't! Put your jacket on top of the pillow!" Elizabeth cried out.

"Your shift is over, nurse," Peter grunted while aiming his gun at her.

"I was just trying to give them a hint to help her survive," Elizabeth meekly explained.

"One more outburst like that and you will be bleeding faster than the patient is. Understood?"

Elizabeth nodded.

Jason and Spinelli arrived in Port Charles and parked down the street from the hotel to avoid the police and their interference. "Okay, I need you to give me the layout of the hotel and all possible ways I can enter without going through the lobby," Jason ordered Spinelli as he loaded his weapons.

"You have the bluetooth earpiece in, right?"

"Yes. We tested it five times."

Spinelli sighed. "Okay, so what's the actual plan once you get inside?"

Jason groaned.

"What am I supposed to do after you get inside?" Spinelli repeated.

"Lay low and listen if I call you."

"And what will you be doing?" Spinelli asked. "What's your plan once you get inside?"

"I'm going to take out as many gunmen as possible and get the hostages out," Jason replied seriously.

"They escaped!" Mac roared as he ran up to Anna and Jordan.

"Who? Who escaped from where?" Jordan asked.

"Cyrus Renault, Ryan Chamberlain, and Peter August. They aren't in their cells or anywhere else in Pentonville," Mac replied.

"Do you think-?"

"They are the ones taking the lobby hostage? Yes," Anna interrupted.

"So, we are dealing with Cyrus, Peter, and Ryan. Robert spoke to Peter," Mac said.

"And now that I think about it, I spoke to Cyrus. His voice did sound familiar. I just couldn't place it," Joran explained.

"I'm calling them back. I need to hear if Emma's dead or alive!" Robert roared as he marched over to Mac, Anna, and Jordan.

Cyrus returned to the lobby and he and Peter were keeping close eyes on their hostages. The phone rang and Cyrus answered, "What?"

"This is DA Robert Scorpio. Is there any update to Emma Drake's condition?"

"Well, we shot her in the stomach. She's breathing but bleeding."

"Why won't you let us take her out of there?" Robert asked.

Cyrus replied, "I'm not going to be able to release any of the hostages. You see, I've grown quite attached to the lot of them."

"How about medical supplies? Can we send them in there?"

"I'll get back to you. Wait for my call," Cyrus said and hung up.

"Damn him!" Robert screamed.

"Kevin!" Martin yelled as he and Lucy ran towards the shrink.

"Martin!"

"What the hell is going on? Lucy and I were returning from our vacation and all major roads were blocked. Rumor is there is a hostage situation going on. Is Laura okay?"

"You haven't heard, have you?" Kevin pondered.

"Heard what? What?"

"Laura, Lucky, and LuLu are all in there."

Lucy gasped. Martin's eyes widened. "What?!"

Kevin slowly nodded.

"Oh my God! Is anyone else in there? Do you know if they are okay?" Lucy questioned her former husband as she wrapped herself around Martin.

Kevin gave the names of all the hostages. "There have been gunshots. We know that Emma Drake has been shot. We don't know if anyone has died yet."

"Well, what are they doing? They need to get my sister out of there!" Martin roared.

"They are trying, Martin," Kevin replied.

Martin scoffed. "Supposedly, not hard enough. And why aren't you more upset about this?"

Lucy warned, "Marty…"

"No! No! His wife, my sister, is trapped in there. His step kids are in there! And he's acting like they went to the movies! They could be dead!"

Kevin breathed deeply before he punched Martin in the nose.

"Doc!" Lucy exclaimed as she tended to Martin.

"What the hell, Kevin?" Martin questioned as he held his bleeding nose.

"You don't think I care?! You don't think I am going out of my mind?! If I could, I would run in there and gather our whole family and take them out! But I can't! So, sue me Mr. Attorney for trying to be the one calm person here!"

Maxie unexpectedly jumped from her position at Emma's side. "I can't do this! I can't do this!"

Lucky looked up at Maxie and quietly pleaded, "Maxie, sit down."

"I can't do this! She's Robin's daughter! I'm just sitting here watching her die! The blood smells! Her guts are pouring out on the floor! It's Nathan all over again!I can't do this," Maxie panicked.

"Then, sit back and watch her die," Cyrus shrugged.

"I can't even tell if she's breathing! I'm not a doctor! You need to let Elizabeth help her!"

"Busy Lizzie's shift is over. But how about…. Lovely Laura?" Cyrus replied as his eyes met Laura's.

"What? Me?" Laura questioned, shock evident in her voice.

"Yes. You. Would you like to assist your son with Eager Emma's wound?"

Lucky nodded at his mother. Please.

"Yes. Of course," Laura replied.

"Say "pretty please"," Cyrus teased.

"Pretty please," Laura said through gritted teeth.

Cyrus motioned for Laura to switch places with Maxie.

Kristina couldn't take it anymore. All of them being controlled by these men. Her father was gone for hours. All of them waiting with bated breath, wondering if they will die by gun shot or a bomb. She stood and yelled across the room, "Hey, ass hole!"

Alexis looked up at her daughter and tugged on her arm. "Kristina, sit your ass down."

"Excuse me?" Cyrus replied as he and Peter turned towards Kristina.

Kristina shrugged her mother's arm off of her. "Piss or get off the pot, will you? This is getting ridiculous. Shoot us all. Press your little button. My father is missing. My brother is in the corner basically having a mental breakdown because you killed his own grandmother right in front of him! And you are letting a little girl die! I'm sick and tired of sitting here, listening to you torture every single one of us. So, grow a pair and kill us! I dare you!"

Cyrus and Peter exchanged looks. "A spitfire you are. Risking not only your life, but everyone else's to be a drama queen. You deserve that Oscar. Your reward for being a mouthy little bitch is to come with me," Cyrus seethed as he grabbed Kristina by the arm and dragged her away from the lobby.

"Kristina!" Alexis shrieked as she got up to run after her.

Peter pointed his gun at Alexis. "Move another step and you won't have to worry about never seeing your daughter again because I will make that a reality."

Ned carefully got up and wrapped his arm around Alexis's shoulders. "Come on. Kristina may make it out of this and she wouldn't want to survive all this and realize her mother is dead. Come on. Sit back down here with me. Please," Ned sweetly and gently pleaded with Alexis.

Alexis nodded and returned to their spot by the window. As Ned helped her down to the floor, Alexis shot daggers through her eyes at Peter. "I hate this. We need to get out of here," Alexis mumbled to Ned.

Ned wrapped his arm around her shoulders again. "I know. We will. We have to," he replied.

"Where are you taking me? Out back to shoot me like some animal?" Kristina screamed as Cyrus dragged her down the hall.

"I thought you might want a few moments to find out what you're willing to do to help poor Emma," Cyrus menacingly replied.

"I'm no doctor but I can tell that Emma needs surgery. You need to let her out of here."

"I don't have to do anything."

Kristina replied, "If she doesn't get out of here soon, she will bleed to death. Even a college drop out like me knows that will happen. Your precious revenge isn't worth that girl's life."

"That's your opinion, Sweetheart." Cyrus said as he unlocked an office door and pushed Kristina in.

"Dad?" Kristina rushed to her father as soon as she saw him in the room as Trina moved aside.

"Kristina," Sonny whispered, still clutching his chest.

"Are you alright?" Kristina sat next to him on the small edge of the couch and grabbed his clenched hands.

"How's Emma?" Sonny responded, ignoring her question.

Kristina explained, "Everyone is trying to help stop the bleeding. Laura's with her now. But it doesn't look good."

Sonny tried to sit up. "I need to end this. I need to get out there. Robin's daughter needs help. I can't let Robin down like this."

Kristina gently pushed her father back down. "No. You don't look so good, Dad. You need to stay here and rest."

"I need to help Emma! She's Robin's little girl! I can't do that to Robin. I can't let her daughter die," Sonny fought back.

Cyrus interrupted the father-daughter spat. "Excuse me. But only one of you can come with me? Who will it be?"

"Me. I'll go," Trina replied.

"You sure?" Kristina asked.

"Stay with your dad."

After the door closed, Kristina turned her attention back to her father. "I know you were knocked out but why are you holding your chest?"

"Pain. A lot of pain," Sonny replied with a grimace.

Once Trina and Cyrus exited the room, Cyrus locked the door behind him. "Come with me," Cyrus demanded.

"We aren't going back in the lobby?" Trina questioned.

"Nope. Your lover boy, Cam, is it? He needs to be kept on edge. I have another hiding spot for you."

"Alright, so once you get in, what information will you need?"

"Layout of the lobby. Who's where. Emergency exits. Stuff like that. And try to be quick," Jason replied as he jumped onto the dumpster behind the Metro Court.

Spinelli groaned. "Stone Cold. This is dangerous! I don't like what you are sending yourself into. I have a bad feeling it won't turn out like last time."

"Just stick to our plan. Everything will be fine. Now, go to the car. I want you away from here in case the bomb goes off."

Before Jason could begin to pry the second floor window open, he and Spinelli were startled when they heard, "STOP!"

They turned and saw Chase sprinting towards them. "What the hell are you doing?" Chase asked.

"Something. That's more than what you and your boys in blue are doing," Jason replied as he continued to pry the window open.

"Jason, if you continue, I will arrest you. You really want to be spending the night in the interrogation room with Diane? By all means, I'll cuff you now. But, I suggest you get off of there and go stand with the rest of the worried crowd," Chase warned.

Spinelli looked at Jason and begged, "Come on. Just listen to the cop for once."

"You guys aren't doing anything! This needs to end. And I can end it," Jason responded.

"You go in there, you can possibly get more people killed. You let us do our training, we might be able to get seventy five percent of the hostages out alive. Don't make me show up to your mother's door and tell her you are dead because you wanted to play super hero," Chase said.

Jason groaned and got down from the dumpster. "You guys have an hour. If no progress is made in that time, I am going in and you can't stop me."

The lobby phone and Peter went to answer it. "Is there any courtesy left in this town? We said we would call you back. What do you want?"

Robert replied, "If Emma dies, you are looking at murder with special circumstances, and that is the death penalty. For her sake, as well as yours, I'd like to propose an alternative."

"Keep talking."

"We send supplies in for someone in there to operate on her. Uh… Kevin! Kevin! What would we need for a gunshot wound to the stomach?" Robert paused speaking to Peter to question Kevin.

Kevin said, "Gloves, sterile sponges, a scalpe-"

"Why don't we bring in the whole operating room?" Peter snarkily responded as he overheard Kevin's reply.

Kevin yelled into the phone, "I need to know the exact location of the wound!"

"Changed my mind. We are going to leave things as is. I kind of like it this way anyway. Goodbye," Peter said as he hung up.
