Happy Anniversary
"I thought this would have been in the great hall on deck 4" Mercy got out the elevator on deck 6 straightening her dress, before turning to look at Sam.
"Don't ask" he giggled "Just get in there with your fine ass" he held his arm out for her to grab.
"We need our 15 surprises before midnight" she reminded him.
"I know" he pushed the door open.
"Surprise" they heard jumping out of their skin.
"What the…" Sam grabbed hold of Mercy unsure what to expect, looking around to see their family and friends "What are…" he looked at Mike "Where are the girls?" Mercy hadn't said a word yet, she was looking around the room, crying, he was expected a surprise but not this, Michael had surpassed himself.
"Dad" Ash ran to his Dad, he was never one to be controlled, the boys were fairer than the girls and both looked like their Mom, some said it was supposed to be lucky, but sometimes Sam wondered for who, because their 9 year olds made it near impossible for him to get to work sometimes, while Mercy could bob in and out of their lived as she pleased.
The girls were all him when they were little but as soon as make up, fashion and boys entered their lives, they dropped him like a hot potato, only Mom understood what women went through, and yes they referred to themselves as women. They were very much Evans girls, their looks, height, facial expressions all him, but somehow they'd managed to mix that in with a substantial amount of Mercytude, and although it was cute, and even encouraged on their 4 year olds, it was no joke now they were 13.
"How did you guys get here?" Mercy asked hugging the girls "That's a silly question" she wiped her face "What are you all doing here?"
"We flew over to Jamaica and crept on the ship while everyone was at lunch yesterday" Hanny told her.
"Happy anniversary" Gail came towards them with her arms open.
"We thought it would be nice, to do something with the whole family together" Andrea hugged her "Happy anniversary" she stroked Sam's face before hugging him too "I love you two".
"I thought everyone had forgotten" Sam laughed.
"Grace said it this morning actually" Mercy told him "We should have guessed, normally at home we don't get a minute for all the calls and deliveries" she laughed.
The calls and deliveries are all waiting for you guys at home, we didn't want to break all traditions" Rachel hugged them laughing.
"Number 13" he smiled at her kissing her cheek as people rushed towards them.
"You guys can finally meet the newest addition to the family" Kurt walked towards them with a baby girl in his arms, Blaine's arm around his shoulder, the proud family "We actually got Dotty just over a week ago, but we couldn't keep her quiet or look after her properly without you guessing there was something going on, so we didn't tell you" he grinned at Mercy's surprised face, watching them cooing over Dotty before they hugged.
"Gosh" Sam clapped his hands "They've grown in a year" he looked at 8 year old Noah and just 7 year old Blake, opening his arms for their hug "Hi" he smiled at Quinn coming behind them.
"Sorry we lied" Tina giggled "And the picture" she pointed at her "Santana knew the story she just thought we could use it as a distraction".
"It was for about a second" Mercy laughed hugging her and then Artie before 15 year old Junior attempted to pick her up "Stop it" she laughed fanning him off, letting him make do with a hug.
"Hi little man" Sam took Myron from Santana when they got to them, the 2 year old had forged a relationship with him within an hour of being in his company, so although he'd generally go to no one, he'd always cry for Sam whenever he saw him. "Guys" he hugged Mike and Santana, watching Mercy getting emotional at their gestures.
Sam gasped at seeing Uncle James in his wheelchair "Uncle, I thought he was too sick to travel" he looked at Mercy, walking towards him, bringing her with him, she hadn't seen him either "God, the whole family is here" he looked around the table at his Aunt, Michael, Jane, MJ, Petal, and their youngest David sat at the table "Family" he stretched his arms out smiling.
Mercy was bawling "Uncle" she smiled, looking at the frail man slumped in the wheelchair, her Dad might just be right, he might not see him again after this "Thank you for making the trip" she'd really wanted to get out to see her Uncle, but their schedule hadn't permitted it, she was more than grateful for him making the trip.
"I had to come" her Uncles words just about audible "Your parents are so proud of you, as am I" he smiled taking her hug "Plus they're paying tribute to so many of my friends, I just had to be here" she wanted to hold on forever, but the look in her Aunt's eyes drew her.
"Auntie" she hugged the woman who always sent her home made bay rum to turn away colds "Is he alright?" she whispered in her ear as she hugged her.
"No sweetheart, every minute is a blessing, but he insisted on making the trip" Aunt Cynthia told her smiling as if she'd just delivered good news. The only comfort was that the ship was sailing around to Trelawny overnight, so they'd be docked in the morning until about 21:30 nearer his home, and they could maybe spend some quiet time with them
"Michael" Sam smiled hugging him "Stella job" he tapped his back "Thanks" he nodded, for everything he'd done for them.
"No charge" he smiled at Mercy coming towards him for a hug, they stood for a while talking to the children, watching Jane and Mercy catch up.
"So" Leon jumped on stage, interrupting the greetings "We have an hour, let's get this celebration started" he clapped his hands "First off" he looked at Mercy "Happy anniversary to my brother and sister over there" he pointed at them "And this is their hour I know" he looked around to find Briani in the crowd, calling her to the stage "But they sort of agreed to me doing this" he laughed "Mom, Dad" he looked at Briani "I asked this beautiful woman to marry me earlier today and she said yes, so, everyone please meet, the soon to be Mrs Briani Boothe" he laughed.
"What?" Trevor gasped looking at his son, the clapping and cheering becoming white noise, as he took in what his only son had just said "Is he getting married?" he asked Andrea.
"I told you that boy was itching for something" she laughed "He's truly my son, no wide oats to sow there, just, plain old fashioned love, and a lot to sex" they stood watching the newly engaged couple kissing.
"Should we say something?"
"Like what?" Andrea asked him "You didn't have anything to say about Grace last night".
"Sorry" Leon pulled away from Briani "Back to the evening" he looked at Sam and Mercy "There are a lot of people wanting to say a lot of things and we only have an hour before the actual all-white party starts so let's crack on" he looked at his Dad "Dad" he held the mic out for him watching the man walk towards him with is Mom and Gail in tow "Floors yours" he smiled when he got to him.
"Thanks" his Dad took the mic off him and grabbed his shoulder before he could leave "First of all I'd like to congratulate my son, and his bride to be, by welcoming our new daughter into the family" he smiled hugging Briani for the first time. "I really didn't prepare anything to say for that occasion I was only planning on one celebration tonight" he looked at Mercy and Sam "We thought after 15 years of a bad memory we'd try to fill the day with some good memories, hopefully you guys have given each other some surprises throughout the day" he laughed "I know you guys well".
"Trevor" Andrea nudged him.
"Well, we" he looked at Andrea and Gail "Wanted to just remind you two how appreciated you are, how much we love you and that we're here for you guys, for as long as you need us" he smiled "There's a lot more but we put it in the cards we sent" he looked at Andrea and Gail "We knew the perfect song we wanted to dedicate to you two, you'll know the reason's and for those that don't this was the beginning of us, so it's only right we should start things this way" he laughed "And of course I went into my viral collection, just to get this song, because that's our thing" he looked at Mercedes "And by our I mean our song" he looked at Sam "I do believe it was the first song I sang on meeting you too" they shared a smile at that truth "So without further ado" he pointed to the sound system smiling as 'That's The Way Nature Planned It' by Ken Boothe rang out
"Oh gosh" Sam smiled at hearing the first few words, grabbing Mercy to slow dance, singing along, he knew it well, they sang it nearly every time they met up, and after the first 10 times, they'd sort of roped him into it too.
"Thank you" Mercy and Sam hugged their parents in appreciation.
Lots of speeches of appreciation for, friendships, relationships, gratitude and promises followed, the hour quickly came near its close, Rachel revealing they'd all voted and chosen this next song as their favourite from Mercy's cover album, from back in the day, not only because it was a brilliant cover, but because they'd sung it as a duet too.
"I seem to remember this next song meaning something to you guys" Rachel laughed watching all the others joining her on stage, so this is a memory for you, from us" she pointed to the band to play 'Then There's You' by Charlie Puth while Blaine started them off.
Blaine: Some girls walk in the room and everything remains, but when you opened up the door, my life completely changed
Some girls be craving that attention to be seen, but the one I'm looking at is right in front of me
Artie & Kurt: There's no words to express, when you're wearing that dress that way,(Oh Oh) there's no words to describe, let me look in your eyes and say (Oh, Oh)
All: There's beautiful and then there's you, there's beautiful and then there's you, there's beautiful and then there's you
Matt & Mike: Some girls, they hit me up saying, "What you doing now?" But they don't really understand the masterpiece I've found
Those girls be wondering why I haven't been around, and if they haven't figured out, I bet they hear me now
Kurt & Blaine: There's no words to express, when you're wearing that dress that way, (Oh,Oh) there's no words to describe, let me look in your eyes and say (Oh, Oh)
All: There's beautiful and then there's you, there's beautiful and then there's you, there's beautiful and then there's you
There's beautiful and then there's you, there's beautiful and then there's you
They stood listening to the song, from their friends, it signified a beginning for them and had been a hit on their best selling album, but there was a shedload of stuff going on at that time that none of even their family knew about, Sam looked at Mercy knowingly, that was their history, their story and if it was anything to do with them, they were taking it to their graves with them.
Flashback
It seemed the two of them had moved heaven and earth to get to Malibu on their wedding day, no doubt here was a lot of anger, hurt and resentment for Grace, as far as the two of them were concerned, there was no way back from this. He'd just dissed his Mom in the biggest way, even Mercy wasn't impressed, but he'd promised to try after they got married and he had, Mercy hadn't allowed him to give up on the woman, ever.
Now they were standing listening to their friends voices echoing around the room, thinking about fifteen years ago when they stood in an almost empty church, he could see her walked down the aisle towards him, even after everything that had happened in the past twenty four hours, still taking his breath away as she glided nearer. The smile on her face lifted his whole body, he remembered the electric that passed through his body as their hands touched.
"Then there's you" he whispered while they stood listening to their friends singing the song that had thrown them together.
"Charlie Puth back at you" she giggled Ralph's cough alerting them to the event at hand "Sorry" she grabbed Sam's hand at faced Ralph
"Finally" Ralph laughed "If this wasn't to be, I don't know what was" he told the laughing guests, welcoming them at the late hour, reminding them this needed to be done before midnight so there was no time for pleasantries and asking for the rings, before he looked at Sam "I believe you have your own vows?"
"I do" Sam let Mercy's hand go and rubbed them down his trousers "So much has gone on, I can't remember all of it" he looked at Blaine for help
"This is all you Dude" Blaine came back at him with.
"Okay" he calmed himself down when he realised there was no help "From the heart" he grabbed Mercy's hands and looked into her eyes "My heart is yours, I know you know that, but I want it said before God and everyone here" he looked around "I'm in awe of your kindness and strength, patience and diva, and I strive not to take you or any of those things about you for granted" he gripped her hands tighter "Your my most favourite person in the world, and I stand here today hoping that you'll trust me with that precious heart of yours as I give you mine to take care of, I want to build a home with you, and fill it with love, support and our family, goes without say I'll be there for the bad times, but I guarantee most of them will be good" he laughed "Because Mercy Jones, there's everything else and then there's you" he kissed her lips lightly.
"Mercy I believe it's over to you" Ralph smiled at her.
Mercy let Sam's hand go and shook her hands out nervously "I've got this" she looked up at him.
"Straight" he smiled
"Today Sam Evans, we begin our lives together, and I promise in front of most of our family and friends to be your wife, in every sense of the word".
"Every sense?" he asked laughing.
"Don't push it" she giggled "I choose to live with you as your companion, friend, soul mate and lover" she raised an eyebrow at him "Loving you when life is peaceful and painful, celebrating our successes and wishing away our failures, I too am in awe of your strengths and I accept or fill in for your few dorkness' of which I know I'm the main ingredient" she grabbed his hand "I'll honour your goals and dreams by always encouraging you to fulfil them"
"She will as well, don't you just like the way she rephrases nag?" Sam asked the guests.
"I will always be honest with you Evans" she snapped "And open, sharing my thoughts and my life with you, from this day forward because, then there's you"
End of Flashback
He looked at her smiling up at him, they'd stuck to their promises, they'd pulled each other back from some dark places, today they felt stronger than ever, he stood singing to his wife, laughing at her singing back to him
Artie: Some girls walk in the room and everything remains, but when you opened up the door, my life completely changed
All: There's beautiful and then there's you, there's beautiful and then there's you, Sam & Mercy: Did you know you're beautiful, baby?
All: There's beautiful and then there's you (I know there is beautiful and then there's you)
There's beautiful and then there's you (I know there is beautiful and then there's you, I know there is beautiful and then there's you) then there's you
"We kept our promises babe" she reached up, pulled his head towards hers and kiss him.
"Speech" Grace called from across the room, looking at Sam, holding the microphone up for him to collect on stage.
"Then there's us" he smiled kissing her lips again before they made their way to the stage.
"Hi" Mercy smiled at everyone, feeling right at home on stage.
"Hi everyone" Sam laughed at the crowd "We'd just like to quickly thank Michael for setting all this up for us, I can imagine the work that went into it, it's a beautiful way to celebrate our anniversary, we don't want the day to go by without telling you guys that we appreciate and love you all too" he looked at Mercy smug for not using their word once "And…" he looked around the room, noticing Stevie looking at his watch "I believe Stevie's telling me to wind it up, so I'll pass you over to…"
"To us" a guy walked onto the stage, Sam didn't know him, but Mercy did, she was rocking already, calling Santana and Kate on stage "You know who I am?" he smiled at her taking the microphone off its stand "I'm glad you know who I am because I definitely know you Mercy Evans" he smiled talking deep into the mic "I'm honoured to be singing for you and your family tonight" he smiled "Ladies and Gentlemen grab your partners and let's get in the party spirit" he raised his hand for the music to start "This is Koffee" he pointed at the young girl joining him on stage "This is for you guys from Tyrone, Grace, Leon and partners" he smiled at the excitement already happening on stage.
Mercy, Santana, and Kate were more than impressed when Koffee hugged them before they started singing one of their signature tunes 'Switch It Up' by Protoje and Koffee really getting everyone in the party mood.
Kate, Mercy and Santana were up there giving those professional dancers, usually reserved for raunchy music videos, a run for their money, Sam, Stevie, and Mike stood watching, unsure whether to be mad at this random rubbing up behind their wives or be happy they were enjoying themselves.
"Dude" Sam grabbed Stevie to stop him from reacting when the man nearly climbed on Kate's back "Can you really deal with the aftermath?" Stevie stood playing it out in his mind, deciding to leave it alone.
"Don't worry about him, he's married, and dedicated" Leon stood behind them smiling.
"Easy for you to say, where's Briani?" Sam enquired, catching his breath as she joined them, she definitely was one of those girls off the videos.
"She's up there" Leon laughed proudly, bopping off to the music.
"Okay" Leon jumped on stage stopping the mini show "They want this place locked down at one, so everyone, leave the way you came, keep away from the outer deck as the sea can get a bit rough and see you all at all-white".
"What's happening with the children?" Sam asked concerned.
"That's a surprise" Rachel touched her nose.
"Surprise, are they safe?"
"Course they're safe" she snapped at him.
"Sorry" he stopped to check himself, wondering why she was giving him a hard time for asking about his children "Where are the children?"
"Jane, the teacher, she has them all" she finally told him, he hadn't even noticed they'd left the venue "Till the morning, she's in a suite, we've ordered extra beds, we thought of everything Sam, don't worry" she walked off to go find Quinn.
"You know you just used our number 14" Mercy looked up at him.
"Can we extend it until we actually close our eyes?"
"I'll think about it" she grinned.
"You're going to surprise me again" he grinned, rolling his eyes for having used their last surprise "Until we fall asleep" he nodded dragging her off to the dance with everyone else.
The All-White Dance
It had only just started music wise, but the place was pumping, there was nowhere else on the ship to be tonight, they'd booked space on the balcony because the parents were with them and Sam and Stevie weren't really disco movers, they preferred to watch, so their seats allowed them to take in everything below, view the upper dancefloor to the left on their level, and enjoy the music at the same time.
Everyone just about dropped their purses, waited for their drinks and then that was it, they were on the upper dance floor, their night started with a base vibrating 'Promised Land' by Dennis Brown, there was a whole segment on the man, everyone with raised hands in appreciation of the legend. Some twenty minutes later the vibe changed and they were listening to something else, the music holding the crowd that seemed to be getting louder, Sam and Stevie sat rocking excitedly at the crowds reactions, while Kurt held his ears at the base pumping through the hundreds of speakers dotted around the room.
The drinks were flowing, and as time went on even Sam and Stevie started loosening up, by 2am "Why Do Black Man' by Hugh Mundell was getting Uncle James rocking in his chair which made everyone smile. It seemed they were going through the ages with the artists, a lot of them they weren't familiar with, but the vibe was keeping everything alive, the strong smell of cannabis, in the air making them all float.
Then the night went into some serious vibes as Trevor called it, there was a lot of Rastafari being called out, locks being flashed and boxes being hit as well as fists going up as people called out for tunes by Garnet Silk and the like, Some playful commercial tuned brought the temp back up, out of that heavy session, when the memory of some ragga artists got the women back up and dancing. There wasn't much of that bit of the session that Sam, Kurt and the parents were into, but it was nice to sit and watch their partners and the crowd give honour to dead presidents.
Just when they thought they'd hit a peak the DJ switched up again, now they were listening to lovers rock and women were introduced to the party,so now it was the women's turn to dance while the men found the bar coming back just in time as the music got slower and more couples were clung to each other rocking to the smooth sounds of various lovers rock artists, the DJ's seemed to be doing their job at keeping the crowd happy.
An hour later they were all barely rocking, trying to stay stood up when the parents came onto the dancefloor, they didn't know the songs, but they knew if they stopped rocking they were going to fall, so they slow rocked, getting dizzy at Gail, Andrea, Aunt Cynthia, and Trevor fast rocking around, while Uncle James sat dangerously wiggling in his wheelchair to 'My Boy Lollipop' by Millie Small Santana, Mercy and Kate were back in their parents homes listening to songs sang loudly at family parties, and watching all the adults rubbing imaginary wallpaper off the walls.
They finally made their way back to their booth shocked to see the state Sam, Stevie and Mike had gotten themselves into, they were legless to say the least, fast asleep leaning on each other with Kurt sat propping Stevie up to stop him falling off the edge of the seat "What the hell happened?" Kate asked grabbing Stevie.
"They had one of those lightening cocktails, I warned them" Kurt told them.
Santana, Kate and Mercy set about waking them up, there was no way they were going to carry them back to the cabin, Sam was about the hardest to wake, Mercy sat propping him up "Dude" Matt stretched his joint over to a wreaked Sam.
"Are we looking at the same man?" Mercy asking him disgusted, Sam definitely needed to be carried back to the cabin and she was trying to work out how she was going to get her purse, get the key out of his pocket and make it back to the cabin, let alone to add a joint into the freaking mix.
They finally left around 5am the guys finally semi-awake again, frustrated that they were leaving the parents dancing away to something that wasn't even from the nineteenth century, Mercy just didn't have the patience to listen to her Dad telling her the history of the woman singing, and pander to Sam's drunken requests "Sorry Dad, I'm going to put him to bed" she lifted Sam's head yet again to keep him awake.
"Do you need some help sweetheart?"
"If you'd just pass me my purse" she pointed at it "We'll be alright"
"Take it slow" he kissed his daughter's cheek, handed her the purse, and let her go
"Did I fuck up?" Sam lifted his head to ask as they walked in silence to the elevator.
"No babe" she smiled "You got very drunk though".
"Sorry" he frowned.
"It's fine, this happens once every five years or so, I think I can cope with that" she kissed his cheek.
"I've got that horrible alcohol breath haven't I?"
"Yes babe, but it's fixable".
"I need to fix it, I promised our you know what, tonight".
"No way" she giggled "I hate drunk sex, you know that about me babe, you can go on for hours trying to squeeze something out".
"I'll make it quick, I..."
"Don't promise me anything right now Babe, it's not going to change my mind" they got in the elevator.
"Did you have a good night?"
"I did babe, and obviously you did" she laughed.
"I enjoyed watching you dance, you don't get relaxed like that very often, outside our bedroom" he giggled.
"It's not very often we get a space like that".
"We should make more space, yes?"
"Yes" she pulled him with her out of the elevator.
She was stunned when he took the key out and opened the door first try, they went in, she helped him get undressed and into bed before taking her make up off, grabbing a shower and crawling into bed, smiling, because despite everything she'd had the best day, it was brilliant having his attention for the whole day. He'd got the week off when they got back, but she was due into work on Tuesday, she was finally cast rehearsing for a new movie, that was about to take up a long week of her family time. She fell asleep feeling blessed and excited about the morning because the children were on board and that just meant an extra day she'd get to spend with them.
Sunday
"Mmm" she moaned smiling at the delicious feeling running through her body, she was somewhere between a wet dream and reality, opening her eyes just before her body exploded, panicking because she couldn't stop it with Sam lying next to her, and she had no idea who she'd been thinking of, and then letting it go when she felt his hair between her legs and understood the feeling.
"Surprise" he smiled at her eyes finally falling on his.
"That was 16 technically" she giggled.
"For the year ahead" he laughed crawling up the bed "Sorry for last night, we went totally overboard".
"That's fine, just means you didn't see half of what I got up to last night".
"What did you get up to last night?"
"You'll have to beat it out of me" she grinned.
"I swear, you're getting kinkier with age" he laughed.
"So, you don't want to know?" she looked at him teasingly.
"Stop it" he threw the covers off him and got up "I'm not about to hit you" he snapped.
"I didn't say hit me, I said beat me" she giggled.
"Babe I mean it, stop" he walked off towards the bathroom, turning at something sharp hitting his naked ass "What the…" he turned to look at her "That could have pierced my skin" he looked down at her Stuart Weitzman Platinum shoe at his feet.
"Did it?" she sat up on the bed asking.
"No but…"
"You started this" she interrupted him.
"Just…" he walked into the bathroom rubbing his attacked butt "Get up" he came out shouting at her.
"What?" she looked at him stunned at his sudden anger.
"I said get the fuck up".
"Okay" she thought best to do as he'd said until he calmed down "It was a game Sam" he banged her back up against the wall.
"And shut the fuck up".
"It was a game" she looked into his eyes seeing nothing "Sam?"
"Shut the fuck up" he grabbed her arm and fling her chest up against the wall, kicking her legs open and threatened to invade her body "Do you like that, it that what you want".
"No" she tried to push him off her, but he wouldn't move "Sam please, stop" he moved away from her and let her arms go.
"Do you get when no means no?" he asked.
"You bastard" she hit his chest and rushed off to the bathroom.
He sat on the bed angry, they'd worked through this way back, he'd promised it wouldn't happen again, after the stuff with his Mom was sorted, what was she thinking asking him to bring the rage up for fun, that wasn't anything called fun for him, it took him back to a place he wanted to forget and she knew that.
She sat on the bathroom floor damning him, there were easier ways to serve shit like that up, it had sacred her because he usually showed that kind of rage because of his Mom, but to think he was doing it because of her, she sat wondering how she'd suddenly become a trigger.
Flashback
They were just starting out in the business, naïve, young, and ambitious, Mercy had started with her new label and he with his, their journeys seemed destined to meet in the middle at some point but within weeks it was evident that wasn't going to be the case. Admittedly they'd broken up for those few months, and in that time they'd seen a lot of what the business was about, they'd talked for nearly two days not just about them, but about this business they were planning on getting into.
On their first visit home after getting back together and engaged, Sam had shared that he'd seen people do some pretty fucked up things trying to make it, and a lot of that he really wasn't willing to do.
"I have a confession" Mercy sat looking at him "They want me to do a topless scene for my music video".
"You're not going to do it are you?"
"No" she smiled "But I thought about it" she frowned at the disappointment in his eyes "It was the pressure of wanting things to work for me, of trying to make sense the loneliness, i guess".
"What's that?" he noticed her messing with her arm and pulled it further out of her sleeve to reveal a bruise.
"I got into a bit of a compromising situation" she pulled her hand away and covered the bruise.
"Babe" he pulled her arm back "You know this isn't stopping there, what happened?" looking at the bruise.
"Cass wanted me to do the scene, we just got into a bit of an argument about it" she looked at her arm.
"He did this to you?"
"And this" she held her hair off her face to reveal a small blood filled scratch under her cheekbone.
"He put his hands on you?" he gasped unable to believe what she was telling him "That video is scratched, you know that?" he got up angry "I'll kill him" he grabbed her hand "I'll kill him for hurting you".
"I dealt with it Sam, it won't happen again" she looked at him "I was so scared" her eyes filled with water.
"I promise you, that will never happen again without consequences, I'll kill anyone that ever hurts you like that again".
"I give you permission to hurt me, any time you want" she looked up at him smiling "But not my heart".
"I would never hurt you like that" he rubbed her nose with his.
"I know that's why I give you permission".
Of course, it was by sheer coincidence that his anger about his Mom came out in that angry aggressive way, but once they identified it, talked about it, and understood it, she gave permission for it to happen, and for a long while it was a part of their life. Over the past 6 years things had changed for them, they'd built a relationship with his Mom, their relationship had changed, become more relaxed, and life was busy, now if anything like that entered the bedroom it was Mercy that was introducing it, and he was fine with a bit of rough sex, he'd given it a place in their lives, but demanding to be hurt, she'd gone too far.
In days gone by, there had always been a line, they both knew that there was never any foreplay, just, hard, rough, penetrative sex, a playful slap on the butt at most, and plenty of cuddles afterwards. Now she was here trying to turn their sex life into something out of a porn movie and, although he'd never been shy about sex, there were just certain places he was uncomfortable about going, threesomes and borderline torcher was two of them.
End of Flashback
"Babe" he got up to tap the bathroom door, knowing he'd got some explaining to do "I need to apologise, open the door, please" he leaned on the wall outside it.
"Leave me alone Sam".
"You know that's not going to happen babe, just open the door".
"I'm scared".
"No, you're not, open the door babe, please" he sniggered at her baby like tone.
"I'm sorry, I pushed too much, I knew what I was doing, but I was just…"
"Playing" he smiled "Babe we don't play like that, especially not while we're dealing with Matt and his shit, plus, I made you a promise".
"I know" the door swung open, he turned to face her their heads inches apart "You scared me" she looked into his eyes "The love went out of your eyes".
"I'm an actor babe" he laughed "And a bastard apparently".
"I didn't mean that" she giggled, sobering up in his eyes again "My prank backfired, and I was pissed".
"Word to wife, don't play like that" his mouth curving at the sides with the threat of a smile.
"Word to husband, I hear you" her head wiggling as she spoke.
"Can we get back to being the diva and her dork?" his face moved closer to hers.
"We can get back to being Sam and Mercy Evans" she leaned the extra centimetre in and kissed him on the lips, smiling at him pulling her into him "Make up sex?"
"You bet" he pulled her over to the bed.
They woke up to their phones pinging, wondering what the hell was going on, Mercy grabbed for her phone to check the message "It's Becky, she said lunch".
"No, please, thank you or even morning?" Sam looked at her asking "That girl needs reining in, they both do actually" his head hit the pillow again, Mercy rolled her eyes at his constant threat to rein them in, that hadn't bare any fruit. "What time, where?"
"One, deck 3 the main dining hall" she checked her phone "That's in half an hour" she jumped out of bed straight into the bathroom, smiling when he followed her in "Morning" she kissed his chest.
