Then Spyro walked straight and looked at a sign.
"This way to Veron Village." Spyro read the sign.
"So we are going the right way." Spyro said.
Then Spyro continued walking on the path and stopped when he saw a Pegasus in trouble.
The Pegasus was being harassed by four robot spiders.
"Tell us where the Gears are." The four Robot Spiders demanded.
"No, I won't!" The Pegasus said.
"Then you leave us no choice!" The four Robot Spiders said.
"Prepare to die!" The four Robot Spiders said.
"Hey!" Spyro said.
The four Robot Spiders turned around and were shocked to see the Purple Dragon.
"You leave that Pegasus alone!" Spyro said.
"You dare to interfere in Sunburn's plans? We can't allow you to stop him! So we will get rid of you now!" The four Robot Spiders said.
"Then try to!" Spyro said.
Spyro fought and defeated the four Robot Spiders, gaining Red, Green, Blue, and Purple Spirit Gems.
The Pegasus was grateful for the help.
Spyro walked to the Pegasus.
"Are you okay?" Spyro asked.
"Yes, I'm okay. Thank you for saving me. I am in your debt." The Pegasus said.
"You're welcome." Spyro said.
"But what's your name?" Spyro asked.
"I'm Lana. A citizen of Veron Village." Lana answered.
"What are you doing out here instead of being in the village?" Spyro asked.
"The citizens of Veron Village are pegasuses. But they are being held hostage by Sunburn's Robot Spiders in the village. I ran out here to keep myself from being held hostage. I really want to help my friends but those robots are too strong for me or the rest of the citizens to defeat." Lana said.
"I'm Spyro and I will defeat those robots and save the citizens!" Spyro said.
"Then please follow me, Spyro. I can take you to the village." Lana said.
So Spyro followed Lana until they reached Veron Village.
"This is Veron Village." Lana said.
Then Lana turned to Spyro.
"There are nine more citizens that need rescuing." Lana said.
"Don't worry, Lana! You can count on me!" Spyro said.
So Spyro went inside the village and went to the middle of the village and fought and defeated four Robot Spiders and saved three hostages.
Then Spyro went to the left of the village and fought and defeated four more Robot Spiders and saved three more hostages.
Then Spyro went back to the middle of the village.
Then Spyro went to the right of the village and fought and defeated four more Robot Spiders and saved three more hostages.
Then Spyro went back to the middle of the village and turned right.
Then the rest of the citizens got closer to Spyro and thanked him for saving them.
"Thank you for saving us and the village!" The Pegasuses said.
Then Lana walked up to Spyro.
"Yes, thank you for saving the citizens and the village!" Lana said.
"You're welcome, everbody!" Spyro said.
Then Spyro turned to Lana.
"Lana?" Spyro asked.
"Yes, Spyro?" Lana asked.
"Do you know where Volteer is?" Spyro asked.
"Yes, he is in the Heart Of Veron Forest." Lana answered.
"How do I get to the Veron Forest?" Spyro asked.
"Just follow the path straight up ahead and you will see the entrance to Veron Forrest." Lana answered.
"Lana, can I ask you something?" Spyro asked.
"Sure you can! Ask away!" Lana answered.
"Earlier, when you were being harrassed by the Four Robot Spiders, I heard the Robot Spiders talking about Gears. What Gears?" Spyro asked.
"The Crystal Gears." Lana answered.
"The Crystal Gears?" Spyro asked.
"The Crystal Gears are legendary artifacts. They keep the crystals from overflowing and filing the animals' habitats. They are many scattered across the land. There is one inside the Veron Temple. If the Crystal Gear is stolen, then the forest will be overflown with crystals but the trees will still stay. That is why no one, not even the most hardened criminals, will dare steal a Crystal Gear. The stealing of the Crystal Gear will destroy the animals' home! I just hope that Sunburn isn't trying to steal it." Lana said.
"Now, I understand." Spyro said.
"Ignitus said that I can't fight Sunburn unless he forces me to and the same thing goes for Camo and Zap too. What does he mean by that?" Spyro asked.
"What Ignitus means that you can't fight Sunburn unless he forces you to is that Sunburn has the power to summon and manipulate crystals. So if try to escape, he will summon crystals to prevent your escape. The same thing goes for Camo and Zap." Lana said.
"Thank you, Lana. I am going to the forest and warn the animals about the stealing of the Crystal Gear and I am going to make sure that the Crystal Gear is still there, I promise." Spyro said.
"You're welcome, Spyro. And good luck!" Lana said.
Then the citizens of Veron Village got out of Spyro's way and Spyro turned away from Lana and went straight ahead and continued walking on the path until he reached the Veron Forest Entrance.
"This is the place. Let's go inside!" Spyro said.
Then Spyro went inside the entrance.
