Yumi Edogawa: thanks for your review my friend.
Tsukauchi's POV
While he promised no ambulances that didnt mean Naomasa wasnt going to look at the injury. If Snapshot was half as stubborn as he was the stitches would be sloppily done. So he took one of the higher grade medical kits before he left the station.
Eraserhead tried to convince him more than once to allow him to go as well. Naomasa refused immediately knowing that it would end poorly. Snapshot barely allowed him to meet. If he brought a hero with him they would never see the vigilante again.
After ditching Eraser he made his way straight to their meeting spot. The night was quiet and there was no trouble reaching his destination. Being ten minutes early meant he had a nerve wracking wait.
The ten minutes passed in silence as he waited for Snapshot. Right on time the vigilante silently entered. The way he held his shoulder told Naomasa that was where he was injured.
Naomasa said drawing the vigilante's attention, "Snapshot it's good to see you back. Where are you injured?"
Snapshot gave him a long assessing look before he replied, "My shoulder. Why?"
Naomasa moved closer so that he could assess the damage. The young vigilante stood stiff allowing the assessment but not relaxing. Raising a hand he pushed aside the torn and ragged jacket.
Stitches adorned the thin shoulder. They were surprisingly well done given how young the vigilante was. Even more surprising was that they were done by the vigilante himself.
Naomasa wouldnt need to redo the stitches. Gently he pressed around the wound checking its swelling and for signs of infection. There were slight winces when he pressed too hard but Snapshot never made a sound.
Without a word he pulled out an antibiotics cream. Gently he put the cream on both sides of the wound. The skin was slightly warmer than it should have been. Infection had not set in yet but Snapshot would need to be careful.
After he finished he cleaned his hands of the cream and then rewrapped the shoulder. Precision born of years of practice it only took a few seconds. Then he stepped away from the vigilante. He left the antibiotic cream on the ground next to him.
Placing the first aid kit on their usual table he said, "Apply that cream every four hours for the next week. You can keep it. I'll replace it tomorrow so you dont have to worry about it."
Snapshot said his voice being distorted by his modulator, "Thank you, detective. Was there anything else you needed?"
Naomasa said his dark eyes meeting the green one's of the vigilante, "Actually I do. Food as usual is over here on the table. You can eat while I ask the questions I have."
There was suspicion in the green eyes but he moved towards the table. As usual they shared a meal and Naomasa gave the questions about the fight with Stain. He was given an extensive overview of the villain's quirk and fighting style.
Then he went over the basics of their deal. Stain would stay away from Musutafu and those under Snapshot's protection. A list of heroes he considered under his protection was given.
When he finished Naomasa put away his notepad and pen. He said with small smile, "Thank you for the information. What do you plan on doing now, Snapshot?"
Snapshot looked up from his noodle bowl and replied, "I'll continue as I have always done. This city is under my protection and as such I will continue to patrol it. Until I can do so no longer."
Naomasa replied uncomfortable, "You don't have to do that though. We can help you."
That had the vigilante gaining his feet and heading towards to door. Damn it. He had pushed Snapshot too far.
Once Snapshot was at the door he paused almost turning back around. He said calmly but coldly no humor lacing his tone, "You cant help someone who doesnt want it, detective. Goodnight."
With that he was gone leaving Naomasa alone in the warehouse.
Izuku's POV
Returning to Castle after speaking with Tsukauchi was as depressing as usual. Izuku pulled off his gear and checked his bandages. They hadn't moved or shifted away from his wound.
The detective confused him. There were times when the man seemed hellbent on capturing him. Other times he wanted to help Izuku without knowing him. The group thought he was in high school. Not thinking he was a middle schooler. At least in age.
Izuku with the help of Orion had long since completed his school work. He tested out of middle school halfway through what should have been his first year. Using Castle's computer he took several college classes.
High school had an age requirement but college did not. It allowed him do as he pleased. Teaching him things he needed to know but didnt have a teacher after Orion's death.
Sitting at the computer he logged into the chat with Tsukauchi and Eraser. Both men were online but they hadn't said anything. Izuku placed his chin on an open palm as he switched to other things.
Hacking into CIRO he moved onto the project he had been working on since Orion's murder. Izuku was looking into the files of the different governmental agencies. The Ring had its hand in several different countries.
Ring had started as a group of terrorists that wanted to simply take over. They were quirkist who thought only the strongest had the right to survive. People with weak quirks did not have the right to survive in their eyes.
Orion had a weak quirk that dealt in memory. That was not why they had killed him however. It was because of the Intersect project. Intersect Project was meant to give operatives the ability to access any and all information known to the agency.
At first it started as a system to be downloaded via subliminal imagery. The project wasn't what the governments had hoped for. Only certain people had the strength within their minds to be able to safely use the Intersect. On top of that they had no control over when it would activate.
Orion had an idea on how to improve the Intersect. He made two sets of prototypes a year before his death. A pair of contacts that would act much like the original Intersect. Like the first there was no control in how or when it would activate.
The second was a pair of glasses. They gave the user to decide if they wanted the flash or not. If they did it would work the same as the contacts.
Both had been tested and with the help of an inventor nearby improved. Hatsume Mei was the only living person who knew who he was. She helped him improve his gear and on occasion like the heroes would bring him food.
At a more reasonable hour he would need to visit her. She would be unhappy to find out about his near death experience with Stain. However it would be a chance to upgrade his gear again. For now though he needed to find out if any of the Ring was around.
