It was a Thursday morning, as Liam Foster went to check on some of the VIP's, since they were going to be returning to the Pizza Plex tomorrow for a rehearsal day as part of a soft opening. He was at the banquet hall, where he saw Benjamin Hughes getting himself a drink of orange juice. "Morning, Mr. Hughes! Has the amenities made your stay here comfortable?" Foster gave a welcoming gesture, as Hughes saw him.

"Mr. Foster. A pleasure to see you here. Don't worry about the hotel. I've been to every budget and economy hotel from 3 to 4 stars."

"I'm here to check on the guests for tomorrow. It's for the soft opening of the Pizza Plex. Surely, you will see how visitors of the Pizza Plex will be able to function and be entertained."

"It's a lot of money to have here in Bushnell. A resort city in Utah is rare, when it's unrelated to the slopes at the mountains. I will still praise the ambition your company is going for."

Liam Foster hid a smirk, as he was making sure that things were going as planned for the Pizza Plex. "Are the other VIP's in their hotel rooms, still?" Foster asked Hughes, where the latter gave a cautious look. "I hadn't seen that millennial influencer, but I was with Bennet last night, due to an issue she seemed to be going through." Hughes explained to Foster. "An issue?"

"She invited me to her hotel room for a drink or two. We met at a business conference in Cleveland, but she might be having an alcohol problem." "How so?" Foster listened to what Hughes had to say, seeing how this might be a problem tomorrow, if Bennet's issue would become visible. "Bennet invited me over to her hotel room last night to talk about some business matters. When I got there, we shared a talk together, while drinking some beer. She started too much and tried to do some make-up."

"And how did that go?" Foster asked him. "She smeared whatever was in that compact of hers, giggling like a child. I tried to get her to wash it off in the shower, but she nearly slipped. Lots of water everywhere, though. Didn't use to waste her towels, so I used my handkerchief."

"Is she sober? I can't allow her to attend the soft opening tomorrow, if she's not sober. We do not want a PR disaster on our first day of operation, due to a VIP incident." Foster addressed Hughes, as Hughes understood what Foster meant. "She should be hangover now. I don't understand the real reason why she had so much alcohol that night. I can only recall talking about my son, since I showed her keychain that was a part of my late father's pocket watch." Benjamin showed Liam a brass pocket watch that looked like an antique from the 1940s. There was a small plastic keychain in the shape of a helicopter that appeared to be a gift from Benjamin's son. "I must have said something afterwards, because she was getting fidgety with the bottle. I might have said something offending to her, concerning her family. She was very private on the topic."

"Do enjoy your stay here at the hotel, Mr. Hughes. I will be sure to tell Sophia Bennet that disorderly conduct will be unacceptable for a family-friendly experience. We can't let anything bad happen to the Pizza Plex during the view by the public, now could we?" Foster said.

Vanessa had breakfast with a rather bloody Olivia, the latter having just finished another "practice run" for her screenplay in the morning. A visible juxtaposition with two women having cereals, watching the news, though one of them looked like they just committed a gruesome murder. However, that last fact was true.

"You don't have work like you said?" Vanessa asked Ness, as she was casually eating her cereal while some fake blood dripped onto the couch. "A mini holiday." Olivia said, as she noticed that Vanessa was looking at the blood that was being stained onto the couch. "The blood isn't permanent. I can find a way to shove the couch into a washing machine and call it a day."

"I'm expected to be at the Pizza Plex at 10. I would have to look presentable and not get myself fired on the first day." Vanessa said, as she was nervous, though Olivia tried to make her be at ease. "Back during my first day as tech support, I learnt that the best solution at first was to restart the computer." Ness gave a little joke, though Vanessa didn't know if she was ready. "I have to work the night shift, which is going to put a strain on me."

"I seen people get addicted to energy drinks to stay awake. Plus, there's tons of security systems nowadays. You probably allowed to doze off briefly, unless a break-in happens, which is unlikely." Olivia remarked, which was ironic, since she was trying to get into the Pizza Plex in the first place. "I still need to make a good first impression. I appreciate giving me some confidence, though." Vanessa said, as she got up from the couch to get ready.

Vanessa got dressed in something semi-casual, since she was only working as a security guard. She got dressed in a white t-shirt, a green jacket, and some jeans to wear to work. She did fix up her hair to look a little fresh, making sure it was still neat in a ponytail. After she got the pamphlet and her other belongings, Vanessa went up to the front door, as Olivia was using her bathroom to put on some make-up. "Olivia, I'm off to head to work!" Vanessa said, as Olivia shouted back, "Have fun on your first day of work!"

When Vanessa was gone, Ness sighed with some relief, as she continued doing her face. She was in the process of using a thin brush to add some "whiskers" onto her face, making her look partially like a hare. Ness smiled, as Glitchtrap stood near her. "We are going to need to plan on breaching their systems."

"I think I know how. I still have work tomorrow, before they send us to the Pizza Plex. I can make a data packet for you to sneak your code in."

"It will work, but you need to be aware of how the company is going to brute force things, if they discover my presence again. They have a genius in their midst, which needs to be taken care of.."

"Whoever it was. I try to find out where they are. They would have to still be near here, if they helped with stabilizing you."

"Make sure they are not a problem.."

"You like what I have? I'm looking almost like you." Ness said to Glitchtrap, giving a playful expression to him.

"Remember that we have a lot of work to do.."

It was during recess at Fransworth Elementary, as kids from 1th to 5th grade were running around and having fun. Lots of kids liked to be at the playground, which still used engineered wood fiber as a ground cover. The school only made minor adjustments to the playground, but they needed to save money. On the tarmac, there was basketball courts and tetherball for the more athletic kids. There were still picnic tables for those who wanted to just chat. There was also the grass field for others to wander around, where on the other side of the black metal fences were houses and woodland.

However, in this day of age, it wasn't surprisingly to see kids on their smartphones and other tech. The school bully Kevin was near the fence, as there was a small pile of rocks the size of large pebbles that he was grabbing from. Normally, some of the kids would take the rocks, trying to stack them when they didn't have anything else to do. Kevin was the only one near the pile, due to his checkered reputation. He also had a borrowed slingshot in his backpack he hid. None of the school staff or teachers seemed to notice him with the slingshot, though this was his first time bringing it to school. The playground monitor, Mrs. Gilliam was away from him, being distracted by some children fighting over a jump rope. Kevin had the slingshot with him, as he pulled back on the elastic of the slingshot, testing it with a rock, flinging it across the grass.

Gregory and Jack were at a picnic table, playing with some trading cards, as Harper was getting some attention nearby with a group of kids. "Did it hurt? Could you hear us?" the kids were asking nonsensical questions to Harper, which she knew the answers were oblivious. "It's not so bad. They had me go to sleep. My mom and dad were there to make sure I was ok. I didn't like the needles, though."

Harper Ward had short black hair and green eyes, where she was wearing a yellow long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and purple shoes. There was a thin white bandage wrapped around her left ear, which was healing from the stapedectomy. Both Gregory and Jack looked at the attention that Harper was getting from a short distance.

"Is everyone at school talking about Harper still? Didn't know she would be popular as Evelyn." Jack asked Gregory, as he pulled out a Gilded Rider card to overmatch Gregory's Dungeon King. "You think Evelyn is around? I hadn't seen her yet."

"I think her parents had to take her somewhere, but I could be-"

"Hey! Cut it out, Kevin!" Both of them heard Kevin harassing Evelyn Cox by holding her plastic doll up in the air. Kevin wasn't a giant, but he was much taller than Evelyn, even though they were the same age. Kevin was a mean looking kid who looked like a bulldog to Gregory. Most students know him as the school bully, since he would "extort" their lunch money. Some teachers were well aware of Kevin's antics, but he was still a crafty weasel at being discreet, even when there were adults nearby. Gregory dealt with Kevin before, but he felt compelled to simply confront Kevin. He believed that if he ran off to get Mrs. Gilliam, Kevin would run over to throw the doll over the fence.

"Wait, Gregory. Is it a good idea to stop Kevin?"

"He doesn't scare me. He dumped me into a trash can once, but that didn't stop me." Gregory said, leaving his cards with Jack, as he went over to stop Kevin.

"You like to dress your dolly in pink? What would happen if I tossed dolly high into the air? Would she break?" Kevin taunted Evelyn, as she tried to hop up to her dolly that was in his arms that were raised to the sky. "It's not funny, Kevin!"

"This is the third dolly that you showed to everyone for the past week. Serves you right!"

"Cut it out, Kevin! Let her doll go." Gregory appeared to both Kevin and Evelyn, as Kevin looked annoyed at Gregory's presence. "Beat it, Gregory! You shouldn't meddle with me." Kevin tried to get Gregory to leave, but Gregory wasn't going to stop until he helped Evelyn. "Just give Evelyn back her doll. She just wants her doll back."

"How about I make a trade for the teacher's pet, huh?"

"What do you want to trade with me?"

"I give her the doll and I can give you a taste of my own medicine!" Kevin said, as he had a trick up his sleeve, getting ready to pull his slingshot out for a "moving target". Gregory assumed he wanted to pummel him into the ground, but he was quick to run away from him. Kevin tossed the doll in the air, which Evelyn managed to catch, where Kevin started to dig into his backpack, much to his confusion. "Gregory!" Jack called for him, as he managed to get Mrs. Gilliam's attention. All it took was one distraction, as Gregory briefly turned to hear Jack. Then, Gregory felt something painful hit his face that made him scream in pain.

Before harassing Evelyn, Kevin had found a larger than usual pebble among the rock pile. It was a perfect size for his slingshot, being the same size as a steel ball bearing, but lighter in weight and having more jagged edges. Kevin happened to be a quick shot with the slingshot, as he managed to nab his right cheek. Gregory fell onto his knees, clutching his cheek, as he felt tears emerge from his eyes. Then, he remembered hearing the wailing of Mrs. Gilliam being directed at Kevin. "YOUNG MAN!"

Luckily, it was a minor injury. His cheek was bleeding, but all the school nurse needed to do was put a bandage over it. Kevin was already in the principal's office, as Mrs. Gilliam was telling the principal how Kevin was a "terrorist" for being a "live weapon" to school, which she blamed the violent video games that still existed in this day of age in society. The principal already knew that Mrs. Gilliam was simply in hysterics, but he did send a phone call to Kevin's parents that their son would get a week worth of detention.

Gregory's mother was given a call also about what happened, though Gregory himself felt fine. Jack and Evelyn visited him in the nurse's office before school had ended. Evelyn Cox was a young girl with long blond hair and blue eyes, usually dressed in anything pink, including her shoes. Her parents were what some parents would describe as upper class, even though they allow Evelyn to go to a public school than private. Her mother works at a jewelry store selling all sorts of things that glitters and shines, while her dad worked for Fazbear Entertainment as an accountant, though it was a minor gig for him. Evelyn was a fan of Heathers Myers, even though the latter was just a social media influencer.

Evelyn poked her head through the door, as she approached Gregory sitting at the plastic exam couch, as Jack followed her. "Gregory? You ok?" Evelyn asked her, as Gregory rubbed his cheek a bit. "It isn't so bad. It had hurt worst than falling off my bike that one time, but it was only my cheek."

"No one told me that Kevin brought a slingshot to school." Jack put himself into the conversation, as he saw the bandage on Gregory's cheek. "He must have brought it from someone. There was that time he brought a stink bomb."

"I feel so bad for what happened, Gregory.."

"It's ok, Evelyn. This wasn't my first time with Kevin."

"I was wondering, Gregory.." Evelyn stopped a bit to consider something. "I was about to tell you after recess, but I was planning on bringing most of my class to the new Pizza Plex opening up tomorrow."

"You mean for Harper's party?"

"I wouldn't call it a party, since my dad asked me to bring everyone that I knew over."

"Why everyone? I thought it was a celebration for Harper."

"Harper was the first one I asked, though I was planning to allow almost everyone."

Gregory didn't know what to say, though he was going to be bored to death tomorrow. He hoped that his mother would approve of him being at the Pizza Plex. He would be responsible for himself. Her mother would want him to get out of the house more, though it was supposed to be a party. "I ask my mom. She might be ok with it." Gregory said, as Evelyn smiled.

Gregory didn't know what it would be like to be at a party at the Pizza Plex, but he believed it would a memorable experience to cure him of his boredom.

Then again..

What could possibly go wrong?

Vanessa parked her car, as she was in the staff parking lot of the Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizza Plex. She looked up to the large building with a smile. For her, it was a new start. Something fresh. A transition from her time at college and actually being an adult. A normal adult. She could have a good life. She knew it.

Clusters of people were at the registration, which were made up of staff sitting at folding tables, surrounded by signs and balloons. Most of the people going through registration looked like city locals, but Vanessa wasn't one. She saw a sign that had the registration for being security, to which she got into the line with her resume and paperwork to prove she applied for the job. She was behind some large guy who noticed her. He looked tough, having the build of a wrestler. She immediately tried to ignore him, as he turned back. There was two other men behind her, though she noticed the line was relatively small. She looked at the crowds near her. There were other women applying for jobs, however she noticed she was the only woman being a nightguard.

"Sorry, I'm late! Ahem.. Next!" a man at the folding desk said, as the large man approached the desk. "Let's see here... Name?"

"Bruno."

"Bruno Reed, I presume?"

"Yes."

"Alright. You're here as a nightguard. That's good. I can admire you for your visible strength. You'll make a great addition to the team. Let me get your name tag. There we go..!" the man gave Bruno a name tag. "Someone will take you to the back entrance. Have a good day!"

Bruno left, as Vanessa became next. "Name?"

"I'm Vanessa Price." Vanessa was nervous to introduce herself to the young man behind the table. He held a clipboard, checking off people as he checked Vanessa's name. "It says here, you're from out of town. How's life here in Bushnell?"

Vanessa was assuming that he wanted to know a bit about her. To distinguish her from the other. "I'm a small town girl, but people in the city are nice." Vanessa said, as the man got her name tag. "Glad to hear! We do have a bunch of people from all over the state wanting to be a part of the Fazbear family, so it's always good to see another addition! Someone will take you to the back entrance. Have a good day, Vanessa!" the man said, wishing her well, as she left the table to head to the direction where Bruno went.

She felt some discomfort when the man mentioned family. It was something she didn't like to think about. It wasn't as an insult, though there was some things that Vanessa wanted to leave behind.

She looked over to see some of the other people among the crowd. She didn't feel alone at first. She had a roommate she can exchange small talk, but she was an outsider after all. Even if what the man had said was true, she felt like everyone almost knew each other. There was someone she glimpsed across from her. A young man she thought was attractive. He was greeting what she believed to be his friends, as he had short dirty blond hair and brown eyes. He was dressed in what appeared to be a maintenance uniform, while wearing a small flat cap. The man saw Vanessa, as she gave a smile at him. The man smiled back, to which Vanessa wanted to blush.

"Hey?" someone spoke behind her, which caused Vanessa to snap back into reality. She turned to see another young man near her. He had a set of glasses on, which his paper name tag read "Logan Bailey". He had neat short brown hair and a set of sky blue eyes, while trying to ask Price a question. "Do you know where we supposed to go to report to security?" Logan said, in an accent that had a hint of Scottish to it. "I didn't see where the other guy went. They said the back entrance, but there isn't any other entrance?" Vanessa explained, however a rather angry looking man wearing sunglasses and a heavy build, suddenly marched past them, heading around a corner of the outside of the building.

Another security guard applying, a man named Alexander Morgan who had a thin build and a mop of blond hair, was following where the guy went. "They said that was the boss." the guard said, as Vanessa and Logan followed. Both of them ended up to the staff entrance of the building, as they went inside to end up into the break room, where a heated confrontation was happening.

"YOU INCOMPETENT IMBECILES!" Jacob Peterson yelled at both Billy and Ken, after the shenanigans from last night were brought to his attention. "Vandalism at the hair salon! Disobeying company rules by trespassing on restricted areas! Scavenging for trash, despite calling yourselves professional security! What do you have to say for yourselves!?"

Jacob Peterson was not happy today. Billy was alive. He was found passed out in one of the hallways after Montgomery left him on a bench. Ken had made a copy of last night's security footage, until they made the mistake of calling Jacob Peterson. Jacob Peterson was the main security chief of the Pizza Plex. He was an extremely terrifying man with the ability to rip a hole into someone by his voice. A lot of people tend to ask why Peterson was unhappy, until they were told that his kids were in the custody of his ex-wife, where he had to pay alimony. Sadly, it wasn't Peterson's fault for the divorce, since his wife was cheating with him.

When Ken called Peterson to tell him about the murderous animatronics, the latter didn't even believe him. In fact, Ken's fatal flaw was using the claim of said "murderous animatronics", since the company of Fazbear Entertainment made it an unofficial company rule that any mention of said murderous animatronics would result in expulsion from any job that was a part of the company. Not only that, but due to Ken's lurking around the entrances to the underground levels, which was against the rules, he would actually be fired. To make matters more worst, Billy was suspected of vandalizing the hair salon, due to the broken door.

Even as Billy and Ken explained that the animatronics were alive, Peterson didn't have none of what they said. Especially since Peterson knew that they were hired security, rather than professionals he could mend himself to be fit for the job. "We're serious! They tried to kill me!" Billy said, but Peterson had enough. "I WOULDN'T EVEN HIRE YOU TO GUARD A CAMERA STORE WITHOUT YOU TWO JACKASSES ####ING UP! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE, BEFORE I KICK YOUR NARROW ASSES!" Peterson yelled, as the two newly fired guards ran out of the break room, as Vanessa and the others were idly by, having heard nearly the whole thing.

"Who are you people?" Peterson immediately said to 4 nightguards, as Bruno was quick to explain. "We're the new nightguards."

"Nightguards?" Peterson didn't seem to realize that the group had entered the break room. "Well, if they told you I will be your boss, you're correct." He was quick to put himself at ease. "Welcome. Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizza Plex. My name is Jacob Peterson. If you're here for the paycheck, I'll make sure you will be wrong." He told a moment to observe the nightguards, acting like a wannabe military drill instructor.

"You will give respect to your job, as you are giving respect to the rest of the employees in the building. Because if you mess up, you will force me to mess up. And who is the one is going to unfairly punish me?" Peterson said, as he waited for an answer. However, the guards went silent, thinking that he would yell at them for interrupting. "Well, come on! Who?!"

"Your boss!" Logan immediately said. "And who is my boss?"

"The CEO?" Vanessa said, but Peterson shook his head. "Good guess, but it's the Chief Security Executive of Fazbear Entertainment. They will grill me, if something bad happens. Especially, if one of you end up indirectly throwing me under the bus. This building already has tons of security and safety measures, but technology can't solve everything. That's why we need the human factor involved. Currently, you 4 will be given the official title of the night shift. Even though, one of you will be transferred to the day shift for a given reason, today and tonight will be important. Tomorrow will not just be the soft opening of the Pizza Plex, but there will be a private party for some of the higher-ups and employees. Not a lot of people, but it will in the third floor of the Pizza Plex at the RetroRama."

"RetroRama?" Alexander asked Peterson. "It's a small venue aimed at teenagers. Supposed to be as part of a 'Late Night Special' for private parties. You can compare it to a nightclub. Several VIPs are supposed to be here, so it's important that we don't screw up what is the most important PR event of the month. You already making a good impression of yourselves. Acting professional. Not like the temporarily guards of whoever we pulled from the streets, lollygagging like children. Tell me about yourselves. What makes you qualified? What can make me trust you?"

"Ahem.. Well, I weightlift in my spare time." Bruno said to Peterson. "I know about computers and other tech." Alexander replied. "I worked as a security guard for another place." Bailey said.

"And what about you? It's normal to see women apply for security, but it's uncommon here." Peterson said, as Vanessa felt the attention being drawn to her. "Me.. I'm much braver than you think. I'm confident and know a situation when I see one." Vanessa gave a determined smile, trying to make it not look awkward.

"Fair enough. Come along, all of you. I'm making you people look like actual professionals here." Peterson said, as he had them follow him to a locker room, among the thin staff hallways of the building. He unlocked some lockers, where there were some neatly folded uniforms inside. "Change into them in private. There's some stalls nearby to use in the restroom. Don't worry, the uniforms are unisex and won't give you a reason to put on a sweater." Peterson said, giving a slight remark at Vanessa, as she got her uniform.

"How do I look?"

"You look dashing to say the least." Bailey said, as he saw what Vanessa looked like in the security uniform. She wore a white-colored security guard suit with dark shoulder pads, along with black pants, a tight belt, and a black cap that read "Security" in white lettering. There was a badge symbol where Vanessa's heart was, which had the same "Security" words on her shirt. She put her hands to her sides, making sure she still looked presentable to Peterson.

"What are these suits made out of? They are actually comfy." Morgan remarked, as he was feeling his suit. It wasn't cotton, but it was hard to try if it was made out of wool. "Come here, you two. I'm here to give you some tools for the job." Peterson said, as he handed out some heavy black flashlights and some strange-looking wristwatches. The wristwatches were shaped like Freddy Fazbear, but they were actually smartwatches. "Your flashlights and watches are your new friends, aside each other. If you feel like you're in danger from a threat, don't worry about breaking your flashlight, you have to use it as a club! Your watches are the most important. You can use them to remotely check cameras in an area you are at, along with any camera in the surrounding rooms. Since the whole Pizza Plex is a maze, to which I shall admit, your watch comes with a small map, so you don't get lost. If you need to take notes, you have input some notes or record them into your watch as logs. Lastly, these watches can be used as walkie-talkies, which is important since communication is a major factor for how to succeed here."

Vanessa was making sure to ingest all of this information. She made sure her watch worked, along with her flashlight. Everything seemed good. "Now, who wants to watch a movie?" Peterson gave a smirk, as Vanessa was confused at what he had planned. "I heard this place has a movie theater. Can I get popcorn?" Bruno joked, until Jacob directed everyone to a small room, where a projection screen was set up. Jacob switched on the projection, where a rather... cynical and surreal training video slideshow was played. Courtesy of Fazbear Entertainment, of course.

"You finally figured out what to do with your life. You worked up the courage to become a member of the Freddy Fazbear family. For this training video slideshow, you are given the role of the nightguard. An extremely vital and important part of helping our business. This is a job where you are being trusted by not just your colleagues, but by your boss. So you better have nothing to lose, otherwise we will make sure that you do."

The slideshow looked cheesy. Something about it felt soulless and generic. It showed a bunch of images and some clips all done in a Blob Web aesthetic. Many people might recall the other term for Blob Web, being the "Corporate Art Style", which is still despised by many. The slideshow was currently showing a cartoon Helpy bear in a nightguard uniform with a flashlight.

"Let us begin with the obvious. Your job does have the importance of helping others, including you. We pride ourselves on being 'safe'. So you will stay alert to make sure nothing would happen in the middle of the night that will end up causing an unfortunate turn of events in the day. But don't worry! With the help of the tools that you currently have, you can be what this company needs. Unless you do something idiotic to which we would have to tell you to get lost, of course."

The slideshow was showing the smartwatch and the flashlight, however Peterson already went over that part easily.

"Next, it's important to discuss how this job may play a negative impact on your health. We understand that sleep is an important factor of the human body, but it can be a fatal flaw to which you can mess up on your job. Remember to sleep or nap during the day, before your night shifts. You will stay productive and be energetic in the night. Unless, you have severe insomnia. You will be right for the job. During the night shift, if you think you're seeing what appears to be hallucinations or hear voices in your head. Please dismiss them. It's all in your mind, obviously?"

One slideshow image was showing Helpy sleeping in a bed, which cut to him at the office, making sure to stay awake.

"Remember that if you're patrolling the main areas of the Pizza Plex, you are to not enter the underground levels without proper permission. There are places that you shouldn't be at, seeing things you're not meant to see. Your transparency is important. Not us. Do as we say, not as we do. If you disobey us on that particular rule, we are in our company's right to have you removed from the job without incident."

The image had a Helpy that looked almost menacing, pushing towards the viewer. In bold letters were the words, "Don't question. Get to work." Vanessa felt uncomfortable, as she was listening to what she heard.

"Another important rule. If a major isolated incident would happen in the middle of the night, do not contact the police. Instead, contact help from this company service number, which will be available for you to check and memorize. Be advised that under company's rules, security footage might be authorized for erasure, along with any information of your employment here might be removed in our database. This will be due to any of the possible following, such as disappearing, dying, or being brutally dismembered."

"Don't worry. The following would never happen to you, unless you play by the rules!"

The words "Trust us" with some random smiling man pops up on the slideshow with two thumbs up.

"For some forms of punishment, if you mess up frequently. Being fired will not be your only punishment. As of now, you should have read the fine print in your contract before you have applied that explains things more thoroughly. Due to conditions that you might break or do, you can be penalized financially. It might explain the missing money in your bank account, if you screw up. Don't ask how we know your bank information. This is perfectly legal. Please also note that the contract includes a non-compete agreement. So if you really screwed up hard, you will be prevented from working as an ex-employee for all businesses or any self-employed business within a 50-mile radius for about a year."

The slideshow showed a small contract that was meant to resemble the one that Vanessa did online, before she ended up in Bushnell. "All of this for a nightguard job?" Vanessa thought, as the other three guards looked uneasy.

"Want to know how to immediately get fired, where we have the ability to brand you as a pariah of society? It's simple! Throughout our franchise's lifespan, we have been horrifically slandered for petty ghost stories of dead children being stuffed into animatronics who like to kill nightguards. All of which were made up by some con-artist indie game developer, who like to ruin children's childhoods and kill baby seals. This false information is to not be discussed, as it is obviously libel."

The slideshow showed some random man that Vanessa never seen before, but she took note on who he was.

"If you spew out blatant lies to other workers that can be overheard by a higher-up, you will be fired immediately. Lastly, remember that you are also protecting our very special Glamrock animatronics. They are just like celebrities to which you are the bodyguards to protect from the paparazzi that might sneak in at night. Make sure they are not damaged, where more information will be given to you by your manager."

The slideshow showed the Glamrock animatronics, as they perform on stage.

"We hope you enjoy viewing this training video slideshow, due to all of the information needed to become a professional nightguard right here at Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizza Plex. We hope your job will be as entertaining as the Pizza Plex itself. Now get to work."

"END!" the words appeared on the screen, as Jacob was clapping by himself. It wasn't until he noticed that the others weren't clapping was when the 4 nightguards started to clap, albeit awkwardly and uncomfortably. Vanessa didn't know how bad things would go, however she looked at the others with a nervous smile.

If one was able to hear what Bruno thought, he would say this.

"We are so ####ed."

Vanessa was fidgeting with her wristwatch to make sure it worked, as she checked her map, while Peterson had the group follow him throughout the staff areas of the Pizza Plex. The place was a lot bigger than Vanessa imagined. The other 3 men probably thought the same thing. One moment, they would walking down a narrow hallway. The next, they were now on a catwalk in what seemed to be a cross between a warehouse and some offices. "These warehouse are for temporary goods, however you are to still check it, if you feel like some items are missing. The offices right here belong to the staff that are meant to work in this area. They are busy in another location, being briefed on how to handle items and property here." Peterson explained, as the warehouse part of the room was darker than the office.

Throughout Peterson's tour of the staff areas, he mentioned a staff longue that the nightguards are allowed to be at, however he also continued the importance of another room. The guards entered the room to see a room full of camera monitors. Each of them were showing a part of the Pizza Plex, as the grand scope of the room surprised the guards. "This is familiar to me." Bailey remarked, as he looked at one of the screens. "This is the Main Security Hub. One of you are required to be in this room at all times. This is why the company allows breaks and multiple personnel. All 4 of you will be here tomorrow, however the day after that, there is going to a shift of two people per day. Logan and Alexander. You two will come back here after the next night. Vanessa and Bruno will be next, where the days will alternate."

It wasn't until Vanessa saw a green blinking light from some security equipment was when she asked Jacob a question. "Hey Peterson? What's that green light mean? Is that an archive for security footage?" Vanessa asked him, as he noticed it also. "That's where the security footage from previous nights would be stored. There are usually automatic recordings, however you can manually record something of importance. Looks like someone recorded something last night.. Ah, nevermind. It's not important. I look at it in private. Let's carry on!" Peterson said, as he led the group out.

The group were in a maintenance hallway that had a door on the side, which read "Below Level Maintenance Only". Peterson made sure to bring up the subject of the underground again. "You see this? This leads underground. And what do you do, if you see a sign like this?" Peterson asked the nightguards, to which they all gave the same answer at all. Don't go underground. "Good! I think it's now time that I let you all loose on the actual Pizza Plex. I want you all to explore the place to get your bearings better."

"You want us to wander around?" Vanessa asked him.

"This place is larger than a museum. You have your wristwatches to see where you're at. All I'm asking is that you scout ahead for any places that might be a source of problems later tonight or tomorrow."

"Got it." Vanessa said, as the nightguards were going to exit into the main public areas of the Pizza Plex by a "Staff Only" door, until Jacob had another warning for the group. "If I hear that you're using this time to slack off, I send you out without a heartbeat!" Jacob yelled to them.

"Jacob was right. I'm checking this map right now and it looks bigger than the high school my kid goes to." Alexander said to the group, as he checked his wristwatch, as they were planning on splitting up. "Place might have been designed like a compass. It's showing me some main halls. We would definitely need to split up. We don't distract anyone along the way, also." Bruno was looking at his watch also, calling dibs on the East Hall. "I'll check the North Hall. It has a go-kart track?" Vanessa said, as Bailey peeked at her watch. "You would need tons of money for a go-kart track, but this is a shopping mall we're talking about here." Bailey remarked.

"You mean a Pizza Plex?"

"Name is silly. I wouldn't be surprised, if this place was only made to attract kids."

"You think so? This decor looks too retro to appeal to kids."

"Not sure. I'm heading over to the amusement park in the South Hall. I want to see how big this place is."

Vanessa was by herself, as she roamed the Pizza Plex. She ended up at the Glamrock Hair Salon, seeing some cleaning crew trying to assure the mess that Roxanne made, even though no one realized it was from Roxanne and not some random employee. "How are we supposed to get this door replaced for tomorrow?" one of the cleaning crew said to the other. "I'll radio in for maintenance to get it done. Goddamn morons must have been fooling around."

Vanessa listened in on what they said, as she looked around the Hair Salon and the "outdoors" part of it. "Looks like they are trying to fix something. I think I make a note of that for Peterson." Vanessa thought, as she made a note on her wristwatch about the broken door. "This is Price. I finishing up with Roxanne's area of the Pizza Plex. Probably going to be maintenance heavy tomorrow." Vanessa said in the walkie-talkie part of her wristwatch. "Copy, Price. Maintenance are going to be in the Gator Golf course, also. Some nutjob might have used a golf club long-range. Some stuff got chipped in this jungle." Bruno said from the receiving end.

"I hadn't seen the Glamrock Animatronics, yet. There's people around, but I don't want to butt in on their business." Morgan said via the watch, which he had heard the other two. "Bailey already radioed me that the South Hall is crowded, but there is no visible issue. I'm going to check out the cinema. Might be easier than this jungle."

"Jungle?" Vanessa asked Bruno.

"They have all of this fake greenery here. Bailey mentioned how there is an amusement park here, but this whole Pizza Plex is literally looking like a theme park instead."

"I'm in some canyon. The floor feels like resilient asphalt. Lots of attention to detail here."

"Place might have been under the work of some famous people to get this done. Top tier experts from the looks and sound of it."

"I'm leaving the canyon to check out the playground. I did walk past the laser tag, but I think two people should check it out. I saw it through the window and it looked like a maze."

"I call bull on that! This whole Pizza Plex is a maze!" Morgan entered the conversation, as Vanessa heard him. "Morgan, how's things on your end?"

"Price, I'm using my watch, but these public hallways look the same. I already feel like I went in circles, despite walking in a straight line."

"There were arrow signs and some stuff on the walls of the hallways. Use those." Bruno said to Alexander.

"Hang on... Got it! I'm at the center square. I see a stage. I check the status of the Glamrock Animatronics."

"Got it, copy." Vanessa said, as she exited Roxanne's area to walk down the hallway. She was already downstairs, where she came across the entrance of what appeared to be a large playground complex. There was a large arch and a sign on the top in colorful lettering "Day and Night Play Palace".

"Play Palace?" Vanessa thought, as she saw some woman who appeared to be regular staff arguing with another employee. "You don't know how much it means to me!" the woman said, as she was trying to convince another employee of something. "They said you're needed at Guest Relations. It's just an necklace."

"It's a family heirloom!"

"I can't let you in. They are testing out the animatronics, so we can't have any accidents now, can we?"

"You can't do this! Excuse me!" the woman noticed Vanessa with the security guard uniform, asking for her help. "What's going on here?" Vanessa asked them. "She lost her necklace or whatever."

"It's a good luck necklace from my family, you moron!"

"Well, you can't be allowed back in there, they are having it emptied for testing."

"Both of you calm down! I need to inspect the Play Palace as part of my shift. I can help get your necklace back, ma'am." Vanessa said, as the woman smiled in relief. "Thank you! I think I dropped it by the ball pits. It has an opal on it." the woman said, as Vanessa went through the entrance. "You're going to get me in trouble for allowing you in!" the maintenance worker said to Vanessa. "Don't worry, I try to get the necklace quick!" Vanessa replied back, as she entered the Play Palace.

The Day and Night Play Palace was a large playground area that appeared to be every kid's dream. Multi-tiered playgrounds, jungle gyms, slides, ball pits, and even a play area with some foam blocks. There was enough plastic, rubber, velcro, and metal to know that the budget had to have been massive for this one room. There was some clouds on some of the playground structures, even a window made to look like a castle on a cloud on the wall that overlooked the whole Play Palace.

"Ok, she saw it was a necklace. Should be easy.." Vanessa thought, as she walked around some of the ball pits nearby. There was something odd about the room, since she heard what appeared to be rustling from underneath of the ball pits. Did some of the balls move? Weird.

There was a lot of green straps that lined the playground structures, as she peeked inside of one of the ball pits to see if it accidently fallen in. Nothing. Vanessa heard another rustle. This time, it was much closer. It was when she saw something down on the rubber mat in front of a large ball pit. It was an oval shaped piece of opal crystal with a thin black string. "There it is." Vanessa went down to pick up, until there was another rustle in the ball pit. This time, it was in front of her.

"Hey! What are you doing!?" Vanessa heard a yell from someone nearby, however she didn't get the chance to speak. Something jumped up from underneath the plastic balls before she had the chance to react. Something that smiled back.

Author's Notes (Contains some spoilers for The Breaking Wheel and Gumdrop Angel):

Ok, where to begin.. Ahem.

The original cover for The Breaking Wheel was shown, which I thought was actually badass, yet I can easily see why they scrapped it. (When they say that Julius got the Breaking Wheel treatment, I assumed all his bones were just broken on the inside. The cover art looks like Julius got his limbs and head crudely ripped from his sockets, which is...woah.)

Security Breach got delayed for late 2021. We got Fury's Rage, so that's something.

Gumdrop Angel got released, which I checked the wiki on what information it had. With my belief, I think Gumdrop Angel might be the darker and most messed-up book in the Frights series. This speaks volumes, especially when trying to compare it to the whole 1:35 AM book and In The Flesh.

For now, Chapter 5 will be given a "Double Feature" treatment. Originally, I intended for Chapter 5 to be much longer, however due to IRL stuff getting in the way, along with my spring semester ending on a high note, I will grant the first part of this chapter. Along with rereading my own chapters to do a possible grammar sweep.

Part 2 will feature (without any major spoilers): The rest of Vanessa's time at the Pizza Plex, a recap for the Glamrocks, and Vanny adds some "finishes touches" to herself.

Also, another author named Mable did a Security Breach story called "Ursa Minor" for their "Begin Prompt" anthology series. I found it amazing, so I recommend you check it out!
