The announcement ceremony has long ended. Wendy was sitting on the bed in the room she woke up in clearly overwhelmed. She was forcibly brought here and she's being hailed as a hero by the citizens. Sure she has done a lot of things before that would make her a hero, but this situation was different. Wendy looked down on her palms, deep in thought. "What should I do…?" She thought to herself.
"How long are you going to space out?" Wendy jumped at the sudden appearance of Hahlos who was standing in front of her. His expression was emotionless as ever.
"H-How long were you standing there?" She asked nervously.
"Several minutes." Hahlos coughed. "I didn't want to bother you, however the master wants to see you now." He urged before moving slightly aside to point towards the door. Wendy gave out a sigh before she stood up and left the room with Hahlos following behind her.
The two walked in the empty hallway. Wendy scanned the area and didn't see anyone else in the building as far as she can tell. She looked up at Hahlos before asking "Does this castle have anyone else in here?"
"This castle is the living quarters for the master and his most trustworthy associates." Hahlos answered, not even looking at Wendy. "The soldiers of this kingdom live in the town nearby, as we can't afford too much noise at the moment." Wendy tilted her head in confusion, before she could ask why the both reached their destination. Hahlos opened the door slowly, not making a single creak noise before he showed Wendy the way in.
As soon as Wendy walked in she immediately froze and covered her mouth in sheer horror. She saw the one they call "master" laying down in a large bed. His skin was a dark tan with cracks all over, his eyes sunken in to the point where they looked pitch black and his hair completely gone. Every breath he took seemed like a challenge as he occasionally had a coughing fit. Hahlos closed the door before walking up to the bed, he looked down on his master.
"Master, the Sky Maiden is here."
However as soon as he tried to speak, he went into another coughing fit. Wendy looked like she was on the verge of tears by how much she felt sorry for this man.
"That's not good...you can't even speak now…" Hahlos sighed, he looked over at Wendy who was still standing near the entrance.
"I-I'm sorry…" Wendy apologized hesitantly. "I don't think my healing magic will work on him…"
"I know." Hahlos replied. "You will heal him another way." Hahlos then stepped away from the bed before he pointed towards it. "Use your roar attack on him."
"W-what?!" Wendy squeaked. "Wouldn't that kill him?!"
"Do it." Hahlos practically ordered. Wendy hesitated for a moment, she didn't want to hurt this man! But Hahlos left no more room for questioning. She breathed in before murmuring a quiet apology.
"Roar of the Sky Dragon!" She let out a large roar of wind towards the bed, hitting it dead on. Hahlos squinted his eyes, watching carefully. Wendy looked down, but then suddenly her head shot back up after she noticed the wind she made vanishing?
The master was sucking in the wind from his mouth, basically eating it. Wendy looked at him wide eyed. Once the wind was absorbed the man slowly sat up on his bed.
"Oh, you can move already?" Hahlos looked impressed. "Are you able to speak?"
"...Yes." The old man replied with a deep voice, slightly coughing shortly after. Wendy started to walk up slowly to the bed feeling nervous.
"Are you a…" she started to ask before Hahlos interrupted.
"Indeed. This is The Sky God, Izanagi."
"Excuse me? You saw what?" Arya questioned. She and Stark were chatting in the meeting room.
"I saw a white orb shot up and explode." He answered. Arya scoffed at him before rolling her eyes.
"You sure those glasses improve your eyesight? Not in a million years has anyone infiltrated this land."
"I had a feeling you wouldn't believe me." Stark sighed before he adjusted his glasses feeling a little offended. "However I still want to investigate the area."
"Tch. It's not my problem. Do it yourself, I'm not wasting my time." Arya huffed before walking off.
"Such an annoying woman…" Stark growled quietly. "Very well, I'll have Balrus and the other soldiers take a look."
The very fact she was standing in front of a God gave Wendy bad memories of her previous encounter with one during the Alvarez war. Although she felt that this one was different?
"Sky girl…" Izanagi spoke which made Wendy jump a little.
"Y-yes?" She hesitated. Before Izanagi could speak, he got into another coughing fit. He laid back down and motioned Hahlos to speak.
"It appears the slight recovery only lasted a short time." He sighed before looking at Wendy. "Your purpose is to lend your magic power to him, as sky magic is the magic of not only healing, but his own magic."
"Lend my magic?" Wendy puzzled. "But how can I do that?"
"Do not worry right now." Hahlos then gestured to Wendy to follow him out of the room. "*I* will handle that part. For now we should be going." They both left the room, Wendy glancing one last time at the Sky God before Hahlos closed the door. "Come, let's head back to your room."
"You will return to this location at once after your search." Stark was conversing with the soldiers at the entrance of the castle. The soldiers wore dark blue armor with helmets with wings on top. Their own wings behind their back. One in particular was rather large in size, his armor had a halo symbol on the plate.
"Of course master Stark sir!" The large soldier saluted. The others following suite.
"Don't give me the double title, just get going!" Sneered Stark.
"Yes master Stark sir!" The soldiers flew off, about three of them including the large one named Balrus. Stark pinched his nose in annoyance.
"What's the hub dub about?" Stark looks behind him and sees the muscular angel Argus walk by.
"I saw something odd while at the library, I'm having the soldiers investigate it." He replied, he then plugged his nose and started waving him away aggressively. "Good grief you smell awful!"
"HA HA HA" Argus laughed loudly. "I was actually about to head to town myself and get myself a bite. Wanna join?"
"Tch." Stark glared at him before walking back inside the castle with no response. "Heh, take that as a no then." Argus said.
"How long are you going to keep watching me?" Wendy asked, sitting on the bed.
"You still don't trust me? I guess that's understandable." Hahlos chuckled. The both sat in silence for what seemed like minutes, Wendy was feeling very awkward.
"You know, Sky Maiden."
"It's Wendy."
"Apologies, Wendy." Hahlos coughed. "The others aren't interested but I've taken a special interest in you humans." Wendy looked up at Hahlos as he made conversation.
"I've been watching below for quite some time. You humans were at war a year ago right?" He asked.
"You knew about that?" Wendy asked back.
"Indeed, to think humans can possess such magic. It was certainly fascinating. Especially you, with your powers similar to our god, how did you obtain such power?"
Wendy was surprised by how interested Hahlos was in. "My mother, named Grandeeny, taught me Sky Dragon Slayer magic when I was 5." She smiled.
"I see, what was your mother like?" Hahlos was entirely focused on the topic as he sat down and listened carefully.
"She was my foster mother, she's actually a dragon. She was amazing, she was so nice and loving!" She beamed.
"A dragon you say?" Hahlos grew wide eyed. "Fascinating! Tell me, was the fire wizard that was with you the same way?"
"Oh you mean Natsu, yeah! He was raised by a fire dragon named Igneel!"
"Amazing, I wouldn't have thought." Hahlos chirped. "Please, Sky-" he cleared his throat. "Wendy, tell me more!"
Wendy was surprised Hahlos was acting so friendly all of the sudden. She talked in great detail of her guild Fairy Tail and her closest friends. Hahlos occasionally nodded and paid close attention to every detail. The two even shared some laughs when she talked about the damages and mayhem her guild caused.
"Humans are so interesting." He stood up. "Makes me wish we were able to interact with them more often."
"Didn't you tell me you don't usually "interfere with our affairs?" Why's that?" Wendy asked.
"We have a strict policy to not interfere with the affairs of the world below." He answered. "Unless it's an emergency, we consider Exahelm a world separate from yours so we usually mind our own business."
Hahlos then started to walk towards the door. "I apologize for taking your time. I will leave you be for now."
"Really?" Wendy tilted her head. "Aren't you suspicious of me?"
"You are our guest, our savior. Not our prisoner. You are free to explore the castle if you so please." Hahlos assured. "I would recommend staying away from the town for now, you'll get too much attention." He requested before he left the room.
For the first time since she arrived, Wendy was completely alone. She didn't know what to do since according to Hahlos she wouldn't be able to escape. She looked out the window for a brief moment before she went up and closed the blinds. Maybe a nap would do her good, a lot has happened which made her exhausted.
She tucked herself in, snuggling in the soft blanket. After the whole conversation with Hahlos about her life, she started to think of her friends. They must be worried sick! Especially Carla and Chelia. She wanted to see them again soon. She didn't know how long she'll be here.
"Everyone…." She murmured. "I'm sorry, please be okay…" she then dozed off to sleep.
