Uptown Danger!
Part 6
I know, I know; it's been several months since I last updated this fanfic; but I promise, I have not given up on this story (even if I'm not the biggest fan of Cooper Barnes anymore). I lost interest in Danger Force, so this will be the last fanfic for the great show that was Henry Danger...or WILL it? Enjoy!
In the city of Swellview, citizens at the First National Bank went about their day, making withdrawals and deposits, cashing checks...and pulling their children away from the candy jar in the middle of the room.
BAM! The doors were blown open by a loud explosion, and Time Jerker, the Toddler, and Dr. Minyak followed Arch-Enemy inside.
"Alright, nobody move!" the Toddler yelled.
"This is a robbery!" Dr. Minyak announced.
"Time for you to hand over all of your money!" said the Time Jerker.
"Enough, you buffoons", Arch-Enemy muttered, and he used his electric powers to short out the lights.
The people in the bank screamed and ducked for cover.
"Ladies and gentlemen, there is no need to panic", said Arch-Enemy. "Your new ruler of Swellview shall have mercy on you, if you simply meet my demands and put all of your valuables in the bags."
The Swellview villains whipped out some black trash bags and held them out to the crowd, motioning for them to empty their pockets.
"And you", said Arch-Enemy, approaching the teller, "I suggest you start emptying that safe before you find yourself barbecued to it. Conquest isn't cheap, ya know."
"Well then, I guess it's time to pay for your crimes."
Arch-Enemy whirled around to see a girl dressed in a lavender supersuit. Her long, brown hair was pulled into a tight ponytail, and there was a white cape hanging down her back. A purple mask covered her eyes.
"And just who are you?" Arch-Enemy demanded.
"The name...is Image."
The villains burst out laughing, and Image rolled her eyes.
"What kind of a name is THAT?!" Time Jerker howled.
"That is the stupidest name in the history of superhero names!" Toddler squealed.
"What idiot came up with that name?" Dr. Minyak said between bursts of laughter.
"Actually, we both did."
Arch-Enemy did a double take as Gamma Girl appeared beside her.
"What?!" he howled. "But-but how did you-!"
Gamma Girl flew over the Swellview villains, who stood in awe.
"Whoa!" Toddler yelled.
"There's an ACTUAL superhero, with superpowers?!" Dr. Minyak said.
"Well, it's about time!" said Time Jerker.
Gamma Girl landed in front of Arch-Enemy with her hands on her hips.
"Miss me?" she said, winking.
"How did you escape?"
"Like I'm really gonna tell you!"
"Please?"
"No, you're evil!"
"That I am! Minions, attack!"
As the Swellview villains charged forward, they were hit by blasts of green energy, but Gamma Girl was still standing in front of Arch-Enemy. The villains fell to the ground, out cold.
"How is this possible?!" Arch-Enemy said, flabbergasted.
"It was easy...with a little help from my friends."
Captain Man and Kid Danger strode into the bank, laser blasters in hand, and the crowd applauded.
"They're alive?!" Arch-Enemy screeched.
"YEAH, we are!" said Kid Danger, holding his arms up.
"You may not know this about me, Arch-Enemy", said Captain Man, "but I'm indestructible."
"And dude, I've got hyper-motility", said Kid Danger. "That means I-"
"I know what it means, you adolescent!"
"Okay, then."
With a confused expression, Kid Danger went to stand beside Image, asking her what adolescent means, and she rolled her eyes.
"No matter", said Arch-Enemy, rising into the air with electricity dancing on his fingertips. "You are still no match for me!"
He laughed as he fired a few rounds of electrically-charged bolts, and Captain Man performed a somersault to dive behind a pillar. Kid Danger sped forward and hurled a bag of coins at the villain, but he just destroyed it, sending gold coins raining down on the Swellview villains, who began to get up.
"It's raining money!" Toddler said, laughing and trying to catch some coins.
"Don't just stand there, you fools!" Arch-Enemy said, dodging a blast from Gamma Girl. "Get them!"
Before he could fire off another round, Gamma Girl launched Captain Man at him, who tackled him to the ground and got up.
"I'm okay!" he said with his signature toothy smile.
"You won't be for long!"
Arch-Enemy pulled him behind the teller counter. As they fought, Image helped steer the hostages to safety, all except the bank teller, who was screaming as the two men fought around her. As Captain Man was thrown to the ground, he caught sight of her and winked.
"How ya doin'?" he winked, and she blushed before he was blasted across the room.
Gamma Girl and Kid Danger were fighting Toddler and Time Jerker, while Dr. Minyak was fiddling with a device in his hands.
"Come on, come on", he was muttering, and then Arch-Enemy's goon Sebastian was in front of him.
"Oh, good!" he said. "Help me with this, would you?"
But instead, Sebastian knocked him to the ground and pried the device from his hands, stomping it on the ground.
"You buffoon!" Dr. Minyak cried. "Why would you-"
And then Sebastian changed into the form of Image, who stood smiling down at him.
"Still think my name is stupid?" she challenged, and led him outside to the police, which were now gathered outside the bank as Trent and Mary witnessed the situation live in their studio.
"As the fight inside continues", Trent was announcing, "it appears that this new hero is helping the hostages to safety!"
"Who is this new hero, and how does she know Captain Man and Kid Danger?" said Mary, staring intently at the camera.
Captain Man delivered a series of blows to Arch-Enemy's side, but the villain just laughed.
"You can't hurt me!" he said. "I'm full of ELECTROLYTES!"
"So the dude drinks a lot of Motorade, big deal", said Kid Danger as he dodged the Toddler.
The Time Jerker watched the fight around him and sighed.
"I believe it is time to make my daring escape!" he said, and began to start up his portable time-travel device.
"Oh, no you don't!"
Gamma Girl slid underneath Toddler's legs and across the floor, blasting the device out of his hands. The Time Jerker cried out and grabbed for it on the floor, but Gamma Girl suspended it in a force field above her and stepped on his hand with her boot.
"Looks like your time has run out", said Gamma Girl. "Time to go for a ride."
The Time Jerker yelled as he was also put into a force field and floated outside to the police.
"What's this?" said Trent, still live from the studio. "Now there's another new superhero?"
He and Mary watched as Image and Gamma Girl smiled and high-fived.
"Is it just me, or do those two look very similar, Trent?" said Mary.
"Indeed, Mary. They could be Super Twins!"
"If only we had someone live on the scene who could ask them, instead of just sending a cameraman to record the action and keep our pretty faces out of danger", Mary said, smiling at the camera.
"Well, one of us has a pretty face", Trent muttered through clenched teeth.
"Oh, Trent", Mary said, running a hand through her short bob of blonde hair.
Trent sighed and put his head in his hands.
Kid Danger delivered a final kick, knocking the Toddler's legs out from under him.
"It's not fair!" Toddler whined.
"Tell it to the cops, crybaby", Kid Danger said, and shoved him over to Image, who delivered him to the police outside.
As Arch-Enemy dodged another punch from Captain Man, he noticed that his minions were gone and rage coursed through his veins.
"ENOUGH!" he yelled, sending out a massive blast of electricity. The crowd outside ran for cover as sparks flew around Swellview (and not in the good way). The cameraman was knocked down, and Trent and Mary sat staring at the camera in their studio awkwardly as the screen behind them went black.
"So…" Trent said, "how about those sports?!"
Arch-Enemy flew above Image, Captain Man, Kid Danger and Gamma Girl. He stopped and grabbed her, hoisting her into the air by her ponytail.
"You", he growled. "You've ruined everything. I should destroy you, Gamma Girl!"
And then he stopped, smiling.
"But why would I do that when I could just destroy Emma Troswell, instead?"
With a look of horror, Gamma Girl realized what she had forgotten: Arch-Enemy knew her true identity.
"Where are those lovely family members of yours?"
"You stay AWAY from them!"
Her eyes burning green, she kicked out of his grasp and somersaulted in midair, twisting to punch him through the roof of the bank.
"Ooh, struck a nerve, did I?" Arch-Enemy teased, and Gamma Girl blasted him with green energy so hard, she knocked him clean out of the city.
"You don't belong here", she said, blasting him again.
Before he could retaliate, a wave of red energy captured him and held him in place. Arch-Enemy looked down to see Schwoz holding a portable tractor beam. Another beam of energy hit him, this one white, and suddenly his powers were gone. Charlotte waved, holding Schwoz's nullifying device.
Jasper powered up Schwoz's knockout beam.
"Say hello to my little-"
"Just shoot it!" Charlotte said, and Jasper fired.
Arch-Enemy was soon out cold, suspended in midair, powerless.
"Great job getting him out here, sweetheart!" Susan called from the passenger side of the silver Nissan Ultima. "I'm so proud of you, Emma!"
"Mom!" Gamma Girl hissed from the sky. "Let's not tell anyone else my secret identity, please!"
"Oh, do not worry!" said Schwoz. "I have something that can help with that!"
…
Back in the Man Cave Susan, Emma, Charlotte, Jasper and Ray watched as Schwoz slipped a Memory Helmet onto Arch-Enemy's and the real Sebastian's heads.
"Once I erase the Arch-Enemy's memory of the last 24 hours", Schwoz explained, "he will not remember anything about Emma Troswell being Gamma Girl."
"This is a nice place you got here", Emily said, admiring the colorful panels on the walls, "but it needs a beanbag."
"Ya know, I've been thinking about adding one", said Henry. "Or...maybe two."
He went to put an arm around Emily, and everyone in the Man Cave turned and said, "She has a boyfriend."
"Yeah, but I bet he's not a superhero", Henry muttered, backing away from her.
"Okay, that should do it", said Schwoz, taking the helmets off. "They should wake up in approximately 3 hours."
"Then I guess we'd better head back", said Emma.
She turned to Henry and Ray.
"It looks like I may have been wrong about you two", she said. "When it comes down to it, you're really good at protecting your town. Thank you for helping to stop my greatest enemy."
She stuck her hand out, and Ray and Henry shook, only to cry out and withdraw as her grip crushed their hands.
"Dude!" Henry complained.
"I am actually not okay!" Ray squealed with pain.
"Sorry!" Emma said sheepishly. "I guess I don't know my own strength."
Emily and Susan walked into the elevator and waved as the door closed on them.
"Call me!" Henry called to Emily.
"BOYFRIEND!" she screamed back.
"Right."
Emma smiled at the two heroes and started up the steps to the tubes.
"Well, I guess this is it", said Ray.
"Will we ever see you again?" said Jasper, and Emma shrugged.
"You never know", she said. "But one thing's for sure: If you guys ever need me, I'll be there."
"Safe travels, Gamma Girl", said Ray, and she nodded her thanks.
"Farewell, Captain Man and Kid Danger."
"Wait!" said Schwoz, running to the control panel. "You don't have a button like Ray and Henry, so I'll need to-"
"Oh, that's okay; I got it."
Winking, Emma raised an arm above her head.
"Up the tube, and away!" she said heroically, disappearing upwards.
"Eh", said Ray, "it sounds better when we say it."
…
Back in Splendidville, a girl approached an abandoned theme park. With her eyes narrowed, she blasted open the padlocked gate with a blast of red energy and walked past the shutdown rides, ticket booths, and attraction tents. She went into the Hall of Mirrors and clapped her hands twice. The attraction sprang to life, where broken glass and smoldering walls surrounded her. The girl went up to one of the mirrors and adjusted her long, black hair.
She took a tube of dark red lipstick from the breast pocket of her crimson outfit and applied a thin coat to her lips, smiling in the mirror. She grabbed a nearby remote, sat down in the broken LA-Z-BOY, and turned on the cracked television screen.
"Now, I'm sure we're all dying to know who Gamma Girl's new sidekicks are-"
"Sidekicks?!"
"-but the time for questions will be later. All you need to know is that these two brave young men helped save not only my life, but the lives of the Splendidville Animal Kingdom."
"And yet, we haven't seen these so-called heroes since", said the newscaster, flashing back to real time. "The sidekicks of Gamma Girl, hereafter known as Captain Man and Kid Danger, seem to have disappeared along with our own costumed superhero. Who are these mysterious heroes, and will they again work with-"
BAM! A red blast of energy hit the television screen, smashing it to pieces. Shards of broken glass littered the floor, and the girl stood.
"So you've found someone new to work with, have you, Gamma Girl?"
Her dark red eyes were blazing as she once again went to the mirror.
"They may have defeated some common criminals, but they'll be in over their heads with...Toxic Trish."
The girl threw her head back and laughed, illuminating her face in the lamps above her. She had the exact same appearance as Gamma Girl.
The End?
Most of the stuff I've written here (Gamma Girl, Image, Arch-Enemy, Toxic Trish) was from a superhero series I created when I was twelve years old; I just tweaked their names a little. I tried publishing the first book of my series here, but no one seemed interested in somewhat original material, so I deleted it.
I will most likely be ending my series right here, since (like I said) Danger Force doesn't really interest me anymore and I'm not the biggest fan of Cooper Barnes nowadays. That being said, keep a lookout for other projects, and thank you for reading!
