The Slytherin common room was very classy. The color scheme was of course green and silver. The walls, ceiling, and floor were made of stone and along the walls were handcrafted wooden archways around windows, which had green silk drapes hanging in front of them, past the windows were the view of beneath the black lake. There was a gorgeous and massive stone fireplace with the Slytherin crest embedded into the stone above the fireplace opening. The room had plush black leather chairs spread around the room. There was a large circular table in the center of the room, a wooden desk, plush leather desk chairs, and three large plush leather chairs sitting before the fireplace. There were chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, bookcases against the stone walls filled with Slytherin knick knacks.

The common room was in the dungeon, but it was surprisingly warm and toasty inside, comfortable.

The stairs leading to the dormitory were behind a long thick green tapestry. The upstairs had a balcony looping around the entire second floor to look down below. There were sixteen doors on the second floor. All of the doors were labeled with a number in either green or silver. The prefects informed them that the silver were the girl's dorms and the green were the boy's. There was also a spell on the doors that didn't allow the opposite gender from entering unless the door was already open. Two of the rooms were the bathrooms.

The dormitories were all the same. There were multiple queen sized beds made of black wood with four posts and silk green curtains surrounding the bed with the sheets matching. There was a chest at the foot of each bed, charmed to fit all of their things neatly. The room was lined with candles against the stone walls with a large chandler in the center of the room.

The beds were extremely soft, like laying on clouds, and the sheets were heaven to lay on, made of the finest silk. The Slytherin common room and dormitory was beautiful, classy, and amazing in every sense of the word.

Kat had a hard time taking it all in. "It's something isn't it?" Kat turns to see a girl leaning against the doorway of the first year girl's room. "I'm Tatiana Grimm." She held out a hand. "I'm a second year."

"Kat Black." The girls shook hands and Kat took time to take in the girl standing before her. The girl wasn't anything really special. She was very plain and simple. She had straight brown hair, which fell just past her shoulders, big hazel eyes, pale white skin. She had a slim face, a small nose, an oval face. She was medium height and average weight. Nothing about her really stood out. She was pretty, but she could easily be overlooked.

"So…" Tatiana says as she walks in, hopping onto one of the bed. "Sirius Black's daughter in Slytherin. You must feel pretty awkward here."

"Uh…"

"I'm a half-blood." She tells Kat. "My mom was a muggle and my dad was a wizard."

"Was?"

"They were killed by Fredrick Goyle during the time of Voldemort." Kat was a bit taken aback by the bluntness of Tatiana. She was also surprised with the girl's easy use of Voldemort's name. Only the Order freely used the name. "I just thought I'd inform you that you're not the only outsider. Slytherin isn't too bad. There are a few here that are absolutely horrid. Flint is a big one, staying far far away from him, but there's also Hunt and Pat, those two are absolute sweethearts. Oh, and you can't forget Mallory, she is a bit of a nerd, but she is a very friendly girl. She's a fifth year."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Because, I was in your place last year. Terrified. Feeling as if you were thrown into shark infested waters." Tatiana stood and made her way over to Kat. "You're not alone. Slytherin can become your home here at Hogwarts and we can become your family. Don't let a few bad eggs scare you away."

"I won't."

"Good. If you ever need to talk, my room is to the left of yours. It's been a long day, why don't you try and get some sleep. If you want, I can show you to your classes tomorrow. I got lost to almost all my classes for the first month here. I know how hard it is to find your way around here."

"Thanks." The girls shared a smile and Tatiana walked out. Kat grabs her pjs and gets dressed quickly before climbing into her bed, sighing at the softness. Her eyes fluttered closed and she fell deeply asleep.

When morning came, Kat woke feeling energized and nervous. She got dressed in her school robes, which now held Slytherin colors, and grabbed her school things before heading out of her room. She walked downstairs to the common room and saw all the kids around, chatting before heading down to breakfast.

"Morning, Kat, you want to join us for breakfast?" Kat glances over at the group that spoke to her. In the group was Tatiana, along with another girl and two boys. The girl was a very tall girl with black hair and bright blue eyes. She had dark tan skin and a narrow heart shaped face with a large pointed nose, thin red lips, and small round eyes. One boy was very round and short, like a little beach ball. He had a short neck, bright blonde hair, dark green eyes, pale freckled skin, and large round nose with big eyes and fat lips. The second boy was more handsome. He was tall, strong, thin. He had short spiky brown hair, dark hazel eyes, dark tan skin. He had a strong jaw, almond shaped eyes, full lips. The second boy looked the oldest. "This is Mallory and her boyfriend Hunt." Tatiana motions to the black haired girl and the handsome brunette. "And this is Pat. The ones I told you about. Mallory's a fifth year, Hunt's a sixth year, and Pat's a second year. They are some of the best Slytherins in this place."

"Did you want to join us for breakfast?" Hunt asks, his voice deep and husky. He gave her a friendly smile as Mallory wraps her arms around his, looking at her shyly.

"Sure." Kat smiles, glad to have someone to sit with.

"Great! Let's go." The five of them walk out of the common room and started for the Great Hall. Kat looks around, her nerves skyrocketing again. She still was unsure about how her family would react to her being a Slytherin.

Her eyes searched the room and came up on Fawn's, who sat at the Hufflepuff table. "Can I go to the Hufflepuff table to talk to my sister? Is that allowed."

"Yeah, some houses actually sit with one another." Hunt informs her. "You just can't do it during special feasts like during the holidays. Did you want to sit with her?"

"Uh, no, I just want to talk to her real quick."

"Go ahead. We'll save you a seat." Tatiana reassures before the four walk off without her. Kat took a deep breath and made her way towards her sister.

"Hey, little doe." Kat says, taking a seat beside her sister.

"Hey, Kat."

"Are we okay?" Fawn frowns, confusion clear on her face. "I'm a Slytherin."

"So?"

"So… are you okay with that?" Fawn's frown deepened.

"Kat… you're a Slytherin, not a death eater. The two aren't a synonym. Just because you're a Slytherin doesn't mean you're a bad guy. You and I are perfectly fine. You have nothing to worry about." Kat sighs in relief, giving her sister a bright smile.

"Let's hope the others see it that way." Fawn rolls her eyes.

"You're worrying for nothing. It's like dad said. It doesn't matter what house we end up in. He'd be proud of us no matter what. Even if you're a Slytherin."

"Yeah…" Kat stares down at her hands for a long moment. "I'm afraid, Fawn. I asked to be in Slytherin. What if dad is upset?"

"He won't be, Kat, I promise."

"How can you be sure?"

"Dad's not the same kid he was when he went to Hogwarts. He has grown up, matured, and learned. He's not prejudiced like he used to be. He won't be upset." Kat bites her lip. "He won't be, Kat."

"Thanks, Fawn. How do you like Hufflepuff so far?"

"It's amazing. I absolutely love my house. Our common room is so bright and happy. The walls are painted yellow and there's plants hanging from the ceiling and filling the room. Helga Hufflepuff always greets us and compliments us when we enter the common room. The beds are so soft and comfy. It's everything I dreamed of." Kat grins.

"I'm happy."

"Me too."

"I should go. I promised some house mates that I'd sit with them for breakfast, but thank you, little doe. Thanks for not shunning me."

"Never. You're my sister." The two squeezed hands before Kat stood and made her way to her house table.

"Well?" Mallory asks quietly. "How'd it go?"

"Great." Kat grins before getting her breakfast.

Severus makes his rounds, handing out the schedules. He pauses at Kat, staring down at her. She looks up at him and gives him a big smile. "Here you go, Miss. Black."

"Thanks Un-Professor." She corrects herself. He's not her uncle here. Here, he's her professor. Snape's lips twitched slightly as if he wanted to smile. He nods at her and makes his way further down the table.

"What'd you got first?" Tatiana asks.

"Double potions with the Gryffindor."

"Erg, good luck." Pat mumbles.

"He's a Slytherin, but he despises Potions." Tatiana clarifies. "He's bloody awful at it."

"I'm great at it." They give Kat a look. "My dad was a really talented potion master as was my uncles. I never did it myself, but I learned a lot growing up. My uncle was pretty determined for me to follow in his footsteps as a potion master. I never brewed potions myself, but I know almost all the first year potions."

"Merlin, I wish I got that kind of training before coming here." Pat pouts.

"You're lucky." Tatiana grins. "My aunt's a Hufflepuff. She is great with plants, but potions are her kryptonite."

"What?" Pat questions, looking very confused. "Krypto-what?"

"Muggle reference." Tatiana waves off. "If you're almost ready I'll show you where the potion room is."

"Okay, thank you, Tatiana."

"Of course, what else are housemates for?" That made Kat smile. The two girls got up and headed out of the Great Hall.

Sirius groans into Madigan's neck as another knock sounded on the front door. This was the third day in the row that his glorious time with Madigan was cut short. He had wanted to spend his weekend between Madigan's thighs, buried in her warmth, only getting out of bed to use the restroom and to grab some food and water. Saturday was taken from him with the news of Remus. He spent most of his Saturday over at the Potters, helping Remus get settled, cleaned, trimmed, and fed. They all agreed that they would all be there for Remus. Sunday, they all spent time at the Potters again, having a cookout to catch up with Remus and sooth his pain and worries. Now, it was Monday and all Sirius wanted was a quick romp in the sheets before he had to go off to work, but he had only just gotten his cock inside Madigan when the knocking started.

"It could be important." Madigan whispers.

"I don't want to leave." He whines as Madigan's muscles clenched down on him in reflex of his shifting. "Fuck."

"You have to get up."

"Fuck." Sirius groans before pulling out. Madigan whines at the loss, causing Sirius to pause. "Fuck." He said once again. He growls, pulls his jeans up aggressively, and stomps towards the door. Damn a shirt, fuck buttoning his jeans. He didn't care if the visitor got a good look at his hard dick in his pants. They should feel guilty for ruining yet another morning for Sirius. "What?" He snaps, throwing the door open only to find his baby brother on his stoop.

"Well hello to you too, Sirius." He drawls, giving Sirius a look that only he could pull off, one of amusement and frustration. "Can't you dress yourself properly?"

"I'm temped to strip right here and now just to piss you off." Sirius says, causing Regulus to roll his eyes.

"As if you haven't before." He mutters before pushing past him.

"By all means, come right in."

"You're such a child." Regulus sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Why do I love you?"

"Because I make your otherwise boring life interesting." Regulus sighs and eyes Sirius over.

"Did you just get out of bed?"

"Actually I just got out from between Madi's-"

"Sirius Orion Black!" He winces as he hears his wife's voice. He glances over to see her storming down the stairs, her face flushed red. She had gotten cleaned, dressed, and presentable in the time of Sirius heading downstairs and talking with Regulus. It amazes Sirius how quickly she could get ready. She was like no other woman he had ever known. "I ought to shove that bar of soap into your dirty mouth." Sirius gave her a wolfish grin.

"Well, I wouldn't call your pussy-" She covers her hand over his mouth, her face as red as her hair.

"What can we help you with, Reggie?" Madigan asks sweetly, smiling up at him.

"Is this a bad time, Madi?" Regulus asks, much sweeter than how he had greeted Sirius, causing Sirius to glare at him.

"If I didn't know you were gay then I would accuse you of trying to fuc-"

"Shut up, Sirius." Madigan and Regulus say together, causing the older Black to pout.

"Of course, you're more than welcome to visit whenever." Madigan. "Unfortunately, we do have to go to work soon."

"It will only take a moment. I just wanted to inform you of your children's placements at Hogwarts." Sirius' pout turned to grin in an instant. His face lit up and he began to practically jump up and down in place.

"Tell us! Tell us! Tell us!" Madigan rolls her eyes, amusement shining in her eyes as she looks at her husband. Regulus smiled when he saw the clear love she had for the immature man-child that was his big brother.

"Well, I just came from the Potters, so I'll start with Harry. He is a Gryffindor."

"Yes!" Sirius cheered.

"Neville is also a Gryffindor."

"That's wonderful. He was so worried." Madigan smiles. "The poor boy was such a nervous mess."

"Always knew he had more Alice in him than Frank." Sirius grins. "What about ours? What did our children place?"

"Well, I'm sure you already know where Fawn placed." The couple smiled at one another.

"Hufflepuff." All three say together, causing Regulus to chuckle.

"Yes, almost immediately the hat yelled Hufflepuff. Now, that leaves the last two." They all grew serious.

"Please just tell us where they placed." Sirius says.

"Drake placed Gryffindor." Sirius breathed a sigh of relief all while Regulus studied him.

"He was so nervous about being in Slytherin. He was sure if he ended up there then he'd turn out just like his parents." Sirius tells Regulus. "He said he wanted to be in Gryffindor, like me." Sirius gave a sad smile. "He said he wanted to be my son and make me proud."

"He's a good kid, Sirius and you raised him right. He's every way your son."

"I know and I'm so proud of him."

"What about Kat?" Fawn asks, causing Regulus' smile to faulter.

"I need to ask you something, Sirius." Regulus says, his voice serious and wary, causing Sirius to frown in concern.

"Anything."

"Would you still love your daughter and be proud of her no matter what house she got in, even if it wasn't Gryffindor?"

"Without a doubt. I love Kat and I'm already proud of her. Nothing would change that."

"Even if she was a Slytherin." The room fell quiet. Sirius took a step forward, putting his hand on Regulus' cheek.

"Reg, I can not begin to tell you how sorry I was for what happened between us in Hogwarts. You were just a scared kid doing what you had to do to survive. I turned my back on you and treated you like my enemy. I can never make up for my actions, but I will gladly spend the rest of my life making it up to you. You're my brother and I love you." He brought their forehead together. "I love Katherine and I know that Slytherin are not our enemies. Slytherin does not mean Deatheater. I am proud of Kat and I know she will do good no matter her house. I also know that Sniv-Severus will take care of my baby girl and ensure that she is safe." Regulus released the breath he's been holding.

"I think she needs to hear you say that. She's scared you'll shun her like you did me."

"Never." Sirius' eyes met Regulus. "Never will I turn my back on my child and treat her the way we were treated. I love her. I would love her even if she was a Squib." He says passionately, causing Regulus to smile.

"You have grown up, Siri. You're a great father. Maybe a questionable husband, but-"

"Oh fuck you." Sirius laughs, shoving Regulus away. Madigan giggles, wrapping her arms around Sirius and smiling at Regulus.

"Thank you." She tells Regulus. "For everything you do for this family and everything you have and will do."

"We're family, Madi, I'd die for you all if I had to."

"Not today, Reg." Sirius says, those words hitting Regulus hard.

Sirius pulls Regulus from the water, panting from the exertion of the frantically panicking Regulus. "No, Reg, no!"

"I'm so thirsty-"

"No!" Sirius screams, dragging him away. "Not today, Reg, not today! I am not losing my baby brother! Not today! Madi, destroy the locket! Do it now! I'm getting my baby brother out of here."

"Siri, please! Make it stop." Regulus cries.

"Not today, Reg. I am not letting you die today." Sirius sobs. "Not today."

Regulus swallowed. "Someday, brother."

"And that day we will walk through those gates together." Sirius promises, causing the brothers to smile.

"I have to get to work. Lily will have my head if I'm late, but I'll see you next weekend for the family dinner."

"Thank god Sniverous is back to school." Sirius says. He was of course kidding. Him and Severus were still no way close to friends, afterall Sirius did almost get Severus killed, but they had called a truce once Severus married Sirius' baby brother.

"Don't call him that, Sirius. You know he hates it." Sirius grins at Regulus' words.

"Don't worry, Reg, I won't let him call him that." Madigan says.

"As if you could stop- Mmph!" Madigan shoves the bar of soap into Sirius' mouth, ensuring that his teeth scrape across the bar. She closed his mouth and made sure to say a spell that didn't allow him to open his mouth. He made a pained sound, which made Regulus laugh. Sirius could still breath, but he was forced to taste the soap and have it slowly bubble up.

"I'll take it out in time for you to go to work, don't worry, but I think ten minutes with that in your mouth might just make you rethink being an arsehole." Madigan grins before skipping off. Sirius huffs through his nose, glaring at his feet.

"I'm so glad you married her because if I was straight… I would have married her for you." Sirius flips Regulus off, who just laughs and walks out the door. Sirius' shoulder slumped and he sulked down the hall with the soap foaming in his mouth.

Kat walked into the potion classroom. She was one of the first to show up, no doubt the others were lost. It was a big school and if it hadn't been for Tatianna then she would have surely gotten lost like the others. "How are you doing today, Katherine?" Snape asks in that quiet, cool voice.

"Hello, Uncle Sev." Snape's lips twitched. "Can I call you that if I'm not around others."

"While at Hogwarts you must call me Professor, sir, or Professor Snape." She sighed.

"Fine." She says with a roll of her eyes that made Snape give another twitch of the lips.

"How are you fairing in Slytherin? I don't expect it to be your first choice?"

"Actually…. It was my choice." His eyes lift to hers. "The hat gave me the choice between Gryffindor or Slytherin. I was perfect for both. I wanted Slytherin. Do you think my dad will be mad?" She asks, her voice cracking at the end.

"If he is then he is far bigger idiot than I already thought he was." Snape says, causing her to snort.

"You two have a strange alliance." She said as she took a seat at the front. "But, be honest, do you think he'll be mad?" Snape stares at her for a moment.

"No, I do not think he'll be upset. I believe he will be proud of you." She sighs, her shoulders slumping in relief.

"Thank you Uncle Sev, I'm sorry, Professor." Snape's lips twitched once more. The bell chimed, singling for students to hurry to class.

"Welcome to Slytherin, Miss. Black, rest assured that you will find your place among us."

"I think I already have." She smiles. The class begins to fill and much to Kat's surprise Hermione took a seat beside her.

"Mind if I sit here?" She asks.

"Not at all as long as you're fine with a snake?"

"I am." She says confidently, sitting up straighter. "Are you okay with sharing a table with a lion?"

"Roar on." Hermione laughs.

"Hey, Kat, you survive the night with the snakes?" Harry asks, causing Kat to hesitate. "I'm proud of you." Harry adds, nudging Kat. "It doesn't matter what your house is." She breathed a sigh of relief.

"It wasn't so bad. The color scheme is nice. The dormitory is in the dungeon, but it's surprisingly warm in the place. And not all the snakes are deatheaters wannabes. I met four really nice ones, one even showed me how to get here."

"Wish someone from our house would have shown us the way." Neville whispers.

"Yeah, we got lost so much today." Drake adds. "We're cool, by the way. You understand why I didn't want to be in Slytherin, right? It wasn't the house itself. I'm not prejudiced towards the house. It's not the house that turns people evil, it's the hearts of the people that are evil. I just… I didn't want…."

"I know."

"Hey, Black, what are you doing talking to Lions." A rather nasely voice says, causing Kat to turn and look at the owner. She saw one of her roommates walking over. Pantsy. Kat didn't get a chance to talk to the girl, she had fallen asleep as soon as she put her head on her pillow and hadn't even heard Pansy come into the room that night. Looking at the girl now, Kat wasn't impressed. The girl had a rather dog-like face, smooshed in like a pug, her body awkward and bulky. But looks aside, Kat could tell by her attitude towards the Gryffindors that she was not going to like Pansy.

"I'm talking to my family and I'm sitting with my new bestie, Hermione." She says, looping arms with the girl beside her. "You got a problem with that, Parks?"

"It's Parkinson."

"And I'll care when you aren't being a rude, ignorante, predjest, prat." The girl gasps, shocked and angered by Kat's words.

"How dare-"

"Students, take your seat. Class is about to begin." Snape's voice calls above the chattering of students. Pansy glares at Kat. "Now, Parks."

"It's Parkinson!" She says shrilly, causing Snape to pause and look at her.

"Twenty points from Slytherin. I expect you to show respect to your professors, Miss. Parks." Pansy stumbles through an apology upon realizing it had been Snape that had been talking to her. "Take your seat Miss. Parks, you don't wish to have detention on your first day, would you?" Pansy turns red and swiftly takes her seat. The other students followed her example. Harry took a seat beside Neville, while Drake sat behind Harry and beside a boy in his house named Dean Thomas.

Snape turns to the chalk board with a swish of his black cloak. "You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion-making." His voice was just above a whisper, but it caught everybody's attention. He was not an easy teacher and this class will not be an easy one. "As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses…. I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, ever stopper death- if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach.' Kat grins at the boys, who all wore grin themselves. They were all too used to Snape's attitude and his cynical words. The other students all fell silent, all too stunned and fearful to even breath a word. "Potter!" Harry sat up. "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?' Snape had been testing their knowledge for years, tutoring them and preparing them for his classes. It was his way of being kind and now he was testing to see how much each remembered.

"Asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion. It's a very powerful potion, which earned it the name of Draught of Living Death, sir." Harry answers.

"Correct, ten points to Gryffindor." Snape says, his lips twitching once more. "I am glad to see you inherit your mother's brains rather than your father's." Harry just rolls his eyes, all too used to the stupid fued between his father and Snape, which has recently turned more into a friendly spar of words. "Mr. Black, where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?" Drake answered instantly.

"A beazoard is a stone and is taken from the stomach of a goat. It will save a person from most poisons." Drake tells him. "Sir."

"Correct, Mr. Black. Another ten points to Gryffindor." The Slytherins were obviously getting annoyed with Snape calling on the Gryffindors, but like the tormentor Snape could be, he called on another Gryffindor, Neville. "Mr. Longbottom, what's the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?" Neville looked panicked for a second, he wasn't good under pressure. He looked around, his eyes landing on Kat, who mouths 'breathe'. Neville took a breath.

"T-th-they're the sa-same thing, s-sir." Neville stutters nervously. Snape nods subtly and it seems to encourage Neville. He sat up straighter. "And also can be called aconite. It's all the same plant."

"Correct as well, Mr. Longbottom. Fifteen points for Gryffindor." He looks around at the upset Slytherin. "Well? Why aren't you all copying that down?" Everyone crushed to gather their quills and parchment, some even spilled their ink.

"Hey, watch it!" Ron snaps when Seamus spilled his ink all over his parchment.

"Mr. Finnigan, stop being a bumbling buffoon and clean up your mess. Ten points from Gryffindor." Seamus' face light up red. "And Mr. Weasley." Snape rounded on him. "Why weren't you paying attention to him? Did you purposely causing him to spill just so you can embarrass him?" Ron stumbles through proclaiming his innocence, while Pansy and her gang giggled away. "Another ten points from Gryffindor."

"Well, at least the boys managed to get all those points, you guys still came out with fifteen points you didn't already have." Kat whispers to Hermione.

"He is so-"

"He isn't as bad as you think. He's just strict and takes potions very seriously. He doesn't tolerate any nonsense. He's similar to McGonagall in that way." Hermione fell silent as Kat said that. "Honestly, inside this classroom he wants everyone to take the class serious and not to mess around. Potions can be dangerous. If you brew a potion the wrong way it can hurt you and those around you. Outside of his job he is a much more relaxed and nice person. You should meet him over the summer some time."

"You know him personally?" Hermione whispers.

"He's married to my uncle. They kept their respective last names though." Hermione seems shocked by that. "The scene you saw before with my cousins was just him testing their memories. He made us all go through our books this summer and try to remember everything we could. He wanted us to be as prepared as possible so that when classes came we didn't struggle as much as the other students could."

"That makes sense. I, myself, went over-"

"I don't want to interrupt, but Snape will be upset if we get caught talking. How about we talk more after class. I want to talk without worry."

"Okay." Hermione beams, clearly pleased with making a friend. Snape carries on to teaching the class, breaking them into pairs to brew a simple potion to cure boils. Harry and Neville worked together, Kat with Hermione, and Drake with Dean. Ron Weasley was working with another Gryffindor, Seamus Finnigan. Snape swept around the room, keeping an eye on all of the kids around them, his black cloak swishing behind him.

They weighed dried nettles and crushed snakes fangs all under his piercing gaze. He made criticisms of many of the students' work, who were all still learning. He wasn't the gentlest teacher. He gave a lot of criticism, but that is because he feels you learn more from criticism than empty praises. He seemed to really like Kat though, her being his favorite really paid off in the class, plus she was following his teachings precisely. "Everyone, pay attention to Miss. Black and Miss. Granger's stewed his horned slugs. See how the color changed to-" Suddenly acid green smoke and very loud hiss fills the classroom. Seamus managed to melt Ron's cauldron much to the horror of the Weasley. Their potion was seeping across the stone floor. All the students hopped onto their stools to prevent their feet from burning. Seamus was drenched in potion.

"You idiot! That cauldron cost money! Why would you do that! I told you the porcupine quills can't go in before you took the cauldron off the fire!" Ron snaps.

"Enough!" Snape yells, causing the classroom to fall silent. "Do not put the blame on Mr. Finnigan, Mr. Weasley. I saw it was indeed you that put those quills in and Mr. Finnigan you are not without blame. Neither of you bothered to even read the instructions, but simply read the potion ingredient list. You idiot boys! Take him to the hospital wing this instant." Snape orders Ron. "Ten points from Gryffindor." He turns to the rest of the classroom. "I hope you all learn from Mr. Finnigan and Mr. Weasley's poor example of following basic instructions. Get back to work." He waved his wand and the floor was cleaned instantly, the potion gone in a blink of an eye.

Kat sighed and hopped down from the stool. "That is why he is the way he is. He takes this class very seriously and can't allow himself to relax for a second, especially around naïve first years." Hermione nods, understanding fully how dangerous this class could be.

An: Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I was a little stuck on this chapter, but I have no written it and I am happy with the results, so now I am publishing this chapter. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. As you could see I changed a few things from the original book, which is going to happen often. I also wanted to tell you that I will be adding another villain to replace Voldemort because every story needs a villain. Voldemort may have died, but another is secretly rising to take his place... You'll have to wait and see who it may be. I will have the stone in this and they will have to defend themselves against an evil wizard once again, but that is a ways to go.
