Thechaosmaster: Welp, I'm here, at last.
Blossom: About…
Chaos: Save it, Blossom. You have no idea how hard it is to have ADHD and want to write but have an attention span of a gnat. I will admit that I have watched Undertale The Musical, however.
Blossom: Does that have any reason why this chapter's title is not in English?
Chaos: Well, originally, I was going to call it Singing Shy Fish, and Relentless hunter, but I kind of got tired of the multiple chapter names, then I was going to call it Bösartiger Hai, or Malicious Shark, but in the middle of the chapter, well, you can read it when you get there.
Blossom: Should you also add your warnings, boss?
Chaos: Right, there is a trigger warning in this chapter, and shockingly, it's my first one ever. If you don't want to know how dark I can make a person's backstory look for the Safe Zone, and read on after that, those who want to know, be warned, it gets dark REAL quick. And also, the Charisk ships sails raise and departs in this chapter, but we are not at full speed just yet. Five chapters plus a short prologue is not long enough for romance to be in full swing. ABNJ has taught me not to rush into things. And Digimon New Life, well, the edited chapters have taught me how to build up some romance. Also, this chapters name, Hoffnung aus Schmerz geboren is German for 'Hope Born Of Pain.'
Blossom: Is there a reason you called it that?
Chaos: Well… To quote one insane RE VII character, "That would be spoiling, Ethen, and I don't do spoilers!"
Blossom: Well, okay then, Thechaosmaster does not own the rights to Undertale or it's characters, they belong to Toby Fox, Temmie Chang, and Co. He only owns what he owns. Read, enjoy, review, follow, fav, all that jazz.
Chaos: And we'll see you at the bottom.
Chapter 5: Waterfall Pt 1: Hoffnung aus Schmerz geboren
Frisk's POV
After that awkward date with Papyrus, me and Chara headed back to where we fought Papyrus, I glanced over said ghost girl, a little confusion was filled in my SOUL, during the whole 'Date' thing, Chara seemed a little, off at times, I don't know why, but it kind of felt that she was annoyed at how Papyrus acted towards me, at first, I thought that she was just say that we were wasting out time with that 'date', but it seemed more or less like there was something bothering her.
Deciding to voice my question, I turned to Chara and asked, "Hey, Chara, are you okay?"
The ghostly girl looked towards me with a raised eyebrow and said, "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I could tell from her tone of voice that she seemed, uneasy, about something. But I couldn't tell what.
I gave her a concerned glance and said, "You were quiet during our 'date' with Papyrus, that's why."
Chara scoffed at the mention of the date and said, "I wouldn't exactly call that a date, Frisk. Besides, you got friend zoned by that loud skeleton, even though he didn't really have much chance with you anyways. Besides, can't we just move on, already?"
Chara seemed to be hiding something, but I decided to leave her to her thoughts and headed towards the cave that was right in front of us. When we entered the cave, I felt that it was much warmer than the snowy weather of Snowdin. "Not surprising." I heard Chara say. "Waterfall is cooler, but not as cold as Snowdin."
"Well, at least I can see why it's called 'Waterfall.'" I said, as I saw waterfalls all over the place. "Still doesn't make the king any less uncreative when it comes to naming conventions, though." Sure, the place was different from Snowdin and the Ruins, with the dark and quiet atmosphere, the flowing water, and the dark blue, almost purple-colored rocks that designed the walls, floors, and ceiling.
Chara nodded softly as she said, "True, I mean, Asgore is a great king and all, but he's not so great at naming things. Take Cedric for example. Poor kid was simply named Monster Kid by dad, and that's not even mention Asri…" At the mention of Asriel, Chara got very quiet.
"Chara, are you okay?" I asked her in concern. She slowly nodded her head and I asked her, "Anything you want to talk about?"
Chara shook her head and softly said, "No. Not right now, sorry Frisk."
I tried to reach out and grab her hand, but she pulled away, and I was slightly hurt by this action, because I thought that, as friends, she would have allowed me to comfort her, but I could see a look in her eyes, a look I knew all too well, so I asked, "Let me guess, it's personal?" To which she solemnly nodded, so I smiled softly and said, "Very well. If you don't want to share anything with me, then I won't force you too. But always remember that I am here if you need someone to talk to."
Chara lightly chuckled at this and said, "Only because you're the only one I CAN talk to, Frisk. But… I appreciate the offer."
I nodded and we continued walking deeper into the cave system, until we found an opening, where we saw Cedric, a strange orange monster fish guy, a tall blue flower, and Sans' watch station, with snow on it? Deciding to talk to Cedric first, he turned to us and asked, "Yo! Are you sneaking out to see her, too?"
I blinked a few times before asking, "See who, Cedric?" But he didn't answer the question, so I simply shrugged and said, "Yeah, I guess."
"Awesome… She's the coolest, right!? I wanna be just like her when I grow up… Hey, don't tell my parents I'm here. Ha ha." And once more, he didn't clarify who he had snuck out to see.
I walked over to the strange blue flower, when I heard a voice speak from it, "All that gives my life validation is explaining the Echo Flower… No one can know…"
That was when the fish monster turned to me and said, "Never trust a flower… That's one of the constants of this world."
Both me and Chara shared an unseen glance at one another and we both thought, 'That's something we can all agree on. But probably for different reasons.'
I then walked up to Sans' station. "Hey, Sans, what are you doing here?" I asked in curiosity.
"what?" Sans asked me, but it was like he was giving me a knowing smile. "haven't you seen a guy with two jobs before?" I shook my head saying 'no' and Sans smiled as he glanced to the left and said, "fortunately, two jobs means twice as many legally-required breaks."
'I don't think that's how it works, Sans. But what do I know about how jobs and breaks work.' I thought to myself.
Then Sans looked at me and asked, "i'm going to grillby's. wanna come?"
I shrugged, not really bothered by it and said, "Sure, why not. I'm not really in any rush at the moment, after all."
Then he smiled at me, well, hard to tell really, him being a skeleton and all that, he looks to always be smiling, as he said, "well, if you insist… i'll pry myself away from my work…" He then walked towards the right side of the room, but before I could point out that he was walking in the wrong direction, he turned to me and said, "over here. i know a shortcut."
Deciding to shrug my shoulders, me and Chara followed Sans' direction, but once we stepped out of the current room, we somehow were encased in pitch black darkness, only to end up standing inside Grillby's. "fast shortcut, huh?" Sans asked me, which I could only nod at. Then Sans turned to the other monsters in the restaurant, and lazily said, "hey, everyone."
"Hey, Sans."
"Hi, Sans."
"Greetings, Sans."
"Hiya, Sansy~"
As we walked past several monsters, they all greeted him like an old friend, or, I should say, like he was a regular at this place, and that is most likely the case.
Then a weird looking monster, one that I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a fish or a bird, asked, "Hey Sans, weren't you just here for breakfast a few minutes ago?"
Sans shook his head lazily as he said, "nah, i haven't had breakfast in at least half an hour." He then winked as he said, "you must be thinking of brunch."
We then heard what sounded like a drum being played, before all the monsters started laughing, even me, though Chara just groaned, it was obvious that she wasn't really a fan of bad puns as I was. Sans then pointed towards two empty seats at the bar table, where the one serving monsters was someone made completely out of fire wearing a suit and tie. Sans then said, "here, get comfy."
I took my seat, only to hear a loud Phfftflrflrflrflrpppfffwewewfllrrt, echoed throughout the establishment. I blushed deeply in embarrassment as I slowly stood up and pulled a whoopie cushion out from my seat. Then Sans seemed to look away as he said, "whoops, watch where you sit down. sometimes weirdos put whoopie cushions on the seats."
I rolled my eyes, knowing that this was the second time that I was pranked by a whoopie cushion, and I knew that, just like the first time, this one was all on Sans. I decided to put the whoopie cushion in my satchel, before giving a fake glare at Sans, who still had that permanent smile on his face as he said, "anyways, let's order. whaddya want… fries or a burger?"
Feeling hungry, and in the mood for something delicious, I said, "I'll have a burger."
Sans seemed to nod as he said, "hey, that sounds pretty good. grillby, we'll have a double order of burg."
The fire restaurant owner seemed to silently nod as he went to the back room, I turned to Sans and saw that he was combing his skull. "Why is he combing his skull? He doesn't even have any hair." I heard Chara say in confusion, and honestly, I couldn't figure him out either. It was like Sans goes out of his way to drive others insane.
Sans then turned to me and asked, "so, what do you think…" At first, I was confused as to what he was asking, before he said, "of my brother?"
I realized what he was asking, and I said, "I find him pretty cool."
Sans seemed to smile as he said, "of course he's cool. you'd be cool if you wore that outfit every day. he'd only take that thing off if he absolutely had to. oh well. at least he washes it."
That seemed to make Chara sigh in relief as she said, "Thank god."
Then Sans seemed to smile a jokester's smile as he said, "and by that i mean he wears it in the shower." Causing Chara to go on a rant on how unsanitary that was, which both me and Sans ignored, Sans because he couldn't hear her, and me because I didn't want to draw attention to myself.
While Chara was having her angry rant, I noticed that Grillby returned with two plates of burgers, and Sans said, "here comes the grub."
I smiled and said, "Good, I was getting hungry." I could almost hear my stomach begging for some food.
Sans offered me a bottle of ketchup and asked, "want some ketchup?"
Even though I knew a prank was coming, I decided to just humor the skeleton and said, "Sure, why not?"
Sans then winked at me and said, "bone appetit."
Even though I didn't really know what Sans was planning, I knew that I should expect anything from him, so when I tipped the ketchup bottle over my burger, I wasn't too surprised when the cap fell off and my burger was drenched in ketchup.
At least Sans had the decency to looked apologetic for that one as he said, "whoops. eh, forgeddaboudit. you can have mine." Sans then handed me his burger and said, "i'm not hungry anyway."
I picked up the bottle of ketchup, and screwed the cap back on tightly, before carefully adding a small amount on my burger, before eating it. As I was eating, Sans scratched his lower back before looking at me and said, "anyway, cool or not, you have to agree that papyrus tries real hard. like how he keeps trying to be part of the royal guard."
I had to smile at this, mostly because Papyrus was actually a pretty cool guy, when he's not trying to over do anything. "one day," Sans said, getting my focus back on him. "he went up to the house of the royal guard… and begged her to let him in it. of course, she shut the door on him because it was midnight."
I had to hold back a giggle at this, and said, "That's kinda funny, Sans."
Sans simply winked as he said, "but the next day, she woke up and saw him still waiting there. seeing his dedication, she decided to give him warrior training." Sans looked away as he said, "it's, uh, still a work in progress."
We sat there in silence for a while, enjoying our food, until Sans looked over to me and said, "oh yeah, I wanted to ask you something."
It was then that all the lights seemed to turn off, with the only one that was on, was on the two of us, and I looked around, and saw that time seemed to have frozen, I then heard Sans ask me, "have you ever heard of a talking flower?"
I almost choked on the burger that I was eating, and looked at him nervously and said, "Uh, y-yeah, why?" I was starting to get worried, 'Is he talking about Flowey, or the echo flowers?' I asked Chara in concern, who had finished her rant not too long ago.
"so, you know all about it." Sans said, clearly oblivious to my own fear, and clearly not talking about Flowey the Flower, at least, I hope that's what he's talking about. "the echo flower."
Me and Chara shared a look, it was getting harder to decipher Sans as a whole. It was like he was aware of something that we weren't. Just like when Flowey asked how many times I could die. And just like back then, I didn't understand what the short skeleton was talking about.
"they're all over the marsh. say something to them, and they'll repeat it over and over…" Sans said, his voice was low, and soft, totally different from the lazy and joking tone that we were used to.
I gave Sans a curious expression and asked, "What about it?"
I asked Sans who said, "what about it? well, papyrus told me something interesting the other day. sometimes, when no one else is around… a flower appears and whispers things to him." The bad feelings that me and Chara were getting started to escalate as Sans said, "flattery… advice… encouragement… …predictions. weird, huh?"
I was shaking like a leaf at this, remembering our last encounter with the psychotic flower. He then gave us a very dark chuckle as he said, "In this world, kill or be killed. So you were able to play by your own rules." His face then twisted into something dark, and nightmarish as he mockingly said, "You spared the life of a single person. Heh heh heh… I bet you feel REALLY great. You didn't kill anybody, this time."
It was then I heard Sans say, "someone must be using an echo flower to play a trick on him." It was clear that he either wasn't aware of Flowey or was testing me. Then I saw him getting ready to move.
Before Sans could, however, I loudly said, "It's not an Echo Flower!"
Sans looked at me in confusion, before I took a deep breath and said, "When I first fell down here, I was attacked by a small, yellow, talking flower." I watched as the pins in Sans' eyesockets went dark, and I said, "He called himself Flowey. Flowey the Flower, and he said some really dark, and disturbing things. He said that, in this world…" I went silent, because I didn't want to let what that psychopath said to me, get under my skin.
So, instead I tried to focus on what was happening now and said, "He said that, in this world, it's kill or be killed. Whatever kind of monster he is, if he is even a monster at all, what was clear, was that he had the mind of a full-blown killer."
I looked up at Sans, saw that his boney fingers were gripped in a tight fist, I then heard him softly say, "so he didn't just disappear after all. i'll have to keep a closer eyesocket on papyrus for now on."
Getting nervous, I pulled at my shirt collar and asked, "Uh, are you all right, Sans?"
Sans looked up at me, that jokester smile on his face, but I could see that it was forced, as he said, "huh? oh, yeah, nothing to worry about, kiddo. but, as i said, it's probably just someone using an echo flower to prank my brother. but remember to keep an eye out, ok? thanks."
Before I could say anything else, time seemed to move onwards again, and the 'spotlight' that was on us vanished. Then Sans stood up and said, "welp, that was a long break. i can't believe i let ya pull me away from work for that long." He then turned to me and said, "oh, by the way… i'm flat broke. can you foot the bill? it's just 10,000G."
My eyes widened and I said, "I don't have that much gold on me!"
Sans chuckled and said, "just kidding. grillby, put it on my tab." I looked over to the fiery owner, who silently nodded, then I turned back to Sans who stopped at the door and said, "by the way… …i was going to say something, but i forgot." And with that, the jokester skeleton was gone.
Then me and my ghost friend left Grillby's and we headed back to headed back to Waterfall, and once more walked passed Sans' station, and we found another one of those boxes, next to it, was a sign. "This is a box. you can put an item in or take an item out. Why would you, though? You can't use items when they're in the box! Sincerely, a box hater."
I blinked in confusion at that, but looked towards Chara and said, "There are some real weirdos down here in the Underground, aren't there?"
Chara simply nodded, and I looked towards the water that is in our path and saw that there were several rocks falling down the river. At first, I was just going to take the bridge that went around the falls, but I noticed that the bridge didn't even go to the other side, so, deciding to try my best, I tried dodging all the falling rocks, but then something caught my eyes.
'Chara, do you see a disturbance near the waterfall?' I asked my spectral friend in a curious tone.
Chara seemed to look at what I was talking about before she said, "Yeah, I think that might be a hidden room or something behind it. Want to check it out?"
I simply nodded, and while easily avoiding the falling rocks, I managed to make it behind the waterfall, where we found some weird glowing mushrooms, that suddenly turned off when I touched them. But the thing that really stuck out was a pink tutu I picked it up and I saw something along the brim of the tutu. When I saw the name etched onto it, I nearly dropped the tutu as I gasped in shock.
Chara turned to me and asked, "Frisk? What's wro…?" We stared in shock at the pink tutu that I held in my hands. "Is that… Is that what I think it is?" Chara asked me, slight fear in her voice.
I slowly nodded and said, "Yes. And, according to the nametag, it belongs to Tiana Grey. The last human who vanished around Mt. Ebott before I jumped down. Which means that it hasn't been here very long." I brought the tutu close to my chest, almost hugging it as I felt tears fall down my face.
Chara seemed to understand what I was thinking as she said, "So, mom was right. Humans were killed down here…"
I didn't answer her, instead I carefully folded the tutu up and placed it carefully in my satchel. "Amanda's knife and ribbon, Triston's gloves and bandanna, Mike's badge, and now Tiana's tutu. There is no doubt in my mind now that each of the missing kids ended up here and died."
I heard Chara inhale deeply as she said, "How about we keep moving, Frisk?"
Giving my morbid collection of dead kids' items one last look, before I nodded and with Chara, we left the waterfall, and continued forward until we found a slightly darker room filled with tall grass. But, once I entered the grass, I heard a familiar voice call out, "H… HI, UNDYNE!" I quickly looked up and saw Papyrus talking to someone wearing a heavy suit of armor. "I'M HERE WITH MY DAILY REPORT… UHHH… REGARDING THAT HUMAN I CALLED YOU ABOUT EARLIER…"
I looked up as I heard a women's voice asked, "Did you fight them?"
"…HUH? DID I FIGHT THEM?" Papyrus asked the women, who was revealed to be Undyne. I watched as Papyrus turned to the cliff, and had his hand on his chin and said, "Y-YES! OF COURSE I DID! I FOUGHT THEM VALIANTLY!"
I then heard Undyne ask, "I see… Did you capture them?"
Papyrus turned to Undyne and asked, "…WHAT? DID I CAPTURE THEM…?" I watched as Papyrus once more turned to look over the cliff, and I could tell that he saw us, then we heard him say, "W- W- WELL… NO." The tall skeleton said as he turned back to armored monster. "I TRIED VERY HARD, UNDYNE, BUT IN THE END… I FAILED."
I could have sworn that I heard Undyne sigh in either annoyance or disappointment before saying, "Fine then, I guess I'll have to do it myself. I'll defeat the human and take their SOUL myself then." I felt a chill run down my spine as I heard that, like someone had just walked over my grave.
"…W-WHAT?" I heard Papyrus ask in shock. "YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE THE HUMAN'S SOUL YOURSELF…" I could tell that Papyrus was terrified by this statement as they said, "BUT UNDYNE, YOU DON'T H-HAVE TO DESTROY THEM! YOU SEE…" Papyrus turned to Undyne as he said, "YOU SEE…"
But it seemed like Undyne wasn't going to let this continue as she asked him, "I guess you really don't want to join the Royal Guard then, Papyrus." Hearing this caused the taller skeleton to take a few steps back as Undyne said, "Because that's what proud members of the Royal Guard do… Wait." That one word seemed to cause the air in the room to freeze as she asked, "Don't tell me you befriended the human, Papyrus."
When the tall skeleton didn't answer I heard Undyne say, "God dangit, Papyrus! It was the humans who trapped us down here for centuries! All because of their own fears about out SOUL absorbing ability. Humans are dangerous! Or have you forgotten about Orange SOUL?"
Papyrus didn't say anything as he looked down over the cliff. "…"
Undyne sighed as she said, "Look, I know that it might be difficult for you to accept this, but imagine what could happen to your brother, or even you, Papyrus. For all you know, the human could just biding their time before they strike. And then it will be Orange SOUL all over again."
Papyrus sighed in defeat as he glanced over to me before saying, "… I UNDERSTAND. I'LL HELP YOU IN ANY WAY I CAN."
Undyne nodded before we watched as Papyrus started leaving, then I heard her say, "And don't forget your cooking lessons, Papyrus!"
Papyrus simply nodded, but before he left, he said one thing, "I know that your hatred runs deep for the humans, Undyne." His voice was so soft that it was hard to believe that this was the same Papyrus who was so enthusiastic about having another puzzle lover as a friend.
Undyne seemed to have been shocked as well as she asked, "W-what do you mean, Papyrus?"
Papyrus turned his head towards the armored monster and said, "I'm not stupid, Undyne. I know that humans were the ones who killed the prince all those years ago." I heard Chara take a deep breath at that, and I knew that was most likely a touchy subject, one I didn't want to bring up in fear of her reaction, so I chose to remain silent. "I know that humans can be dangerous, but I believe that, like monsters, humans can change."
Undyne seemed to be speechless at this as she asked, "What do you mean, Papyrus?"
Papyrus looked down right at me before he shook his head and said, "It doesn't matter. I'll see you later, Undyne. Just know that, what happened to the prince and princess should not be blamed on every human we see. Or we could end up no better than the humans who hate us." And with that, Papyrus left, leaving Undyne and me and Chara to wonder, just what lies hidden beneath that over-the-top goofy skeleton.
"It seems there is more to Papyrus than meets the eye, huh, Frisk?" Chara asked me in a low voice, and all I could do is nod.
I then took a few steps forward when I heard the heavy clunks of metal walk closer to me, and taking a risk, I looked up and saw that Undyne was looking right at me with a blue spear in her left hand. Why she didn't throw it at me right then and there, I didn't know, and honestly, I was just praying that I wouldn't be on the receiving end of that spear any time soon. Or at least she wouldn't make my death painful. But just when I thought she was going to strike, she dismissed her spear before backing into the shadows, a glowing white dot was all I saw before it too vanished.
After taking a few deep breaths to get my heart to stop pounding in my chest, I carefully walked out of the walked out of the tall grass, when I heard someone else leave, I quickly turned around in fear, only to breath in relief at Cedric. Who appeared to have been dancing around full of joy, then he turned to me and asked, "Yo… did you see the way she was staring at you…?" To which I silently nodded as he said, "That… … was AWESOME! I'm SOOOO jealous! What'd you do to get her attention…? Ha ha."
I shook my head as I said, "I have no idea, Cedric. I have no idea." Although, that was a lie, I knew exactly why I had caught Undyne's attention. I'm human.
That was when Cedric happily said, "C'mon! Let's go watch her beat up some bad guys!"
That was when Cedric ran up ahead before tripping and falling on his face. "Cedric!" I cried out in concern, but he simply pushed himself up before running off again.
I looked over to Chara and said, "Well, he seems excited. Right, Chara?"
Chara smiled softly as she said, "He's definitely excited about meeting Undyne, that's for certain."
I was reminded of what Papyrus had said about the prince, and I wanted to ask, but I knew that would probably be a tough subject, so, instead I said, "I'm not going to lie, Chara, I want to know what Papyrus was talking about with Asriel. But I'm not going to ask, if it's personal, then I won't push you to tell me. But always remember that I'm here for you if you need to talk."
Chara smiled softly at me and said, "Thank you, Frisk. And when I feel comfortable enough, I will tell you, just not yet, as you said, it's personal."
I nodded, and walked towards the Save Point that was near me, and Chara said, 💥"A feeling of dread hangs over you… But you stay determined."💥
I awkwardly chuckled at that and said, "You really know how to make me feel comfortable, you know that Chara?"
Chara silently giggled at me as we moved onwards to the next room where we found four weird looking flowers and a plaque that Chara read for me. "It says 'When four Bridge Seeds align in the water, they will sprout."
"So, all I have to do is place these flower seeds in the water and we can cross?" I said, a bit confused but deciding that it wasn't the strangest thing I had ever heard. So, I carefully placed the seeds one by one in the water and watched in amazement as they all bloomed into these beautiful pink water lily like flowers. "They're beautiful, Chara."
I turned and saw that Chara was smiling at me and she said, "Yeah, I guess they are, Frisky."
When we entered the next room, we were quickly ambushed by a strange, red mermaid horse hybrid, and Chara said, "Aaron flexes in!"
I used my Check ability, and Chara said, "Aaron – ATK 24 DEF 12. This seahorse has a lot of HP (Horsepower). All of his attacks are harder to dodge at the bottom of this box."
'You know, I really think you are treating this like it's some kind of video game, Chara.' I told the ghost girl, who could only giggle at me.
And then Aaron said, "CHECK all you want." 😉
I'm telling you I could FEEL the flirtatious wink he gave as I began dodging all of his attacks. Which was just him flexing way to close to me. "Aaron is splashing you playfully." Chara said to me with a mischievous smile on her face.
I decided that I had to do something to get this muscle head to leave me alone. Then I had a light bulb appear over my head before I rolled up my sleeve and flexed myself. And I watched as Aaron flexed as well. "You flex. Aaron flexes twice as hard as you. ATTACK increases for you two." Chara said at our impromptu flexing competition.
"Flexing contest? OK, flex more! 😉" Aaron said with that playful wink, and I dodged more of his attacks, this time they were his sweat, gross.
"Aaron is ready for your next flex." Chara said, and I rolled up my other sleeve before producing yet another flex. "You flex harder. Aaron Flexes thrice as hard. ATTACK increases for you two."
Aaron seems to be having fun as he said, "Nice! I won't lose tho. 😉"
After dodging more of Aaron's sweat missiles, I brought up both my arms before flexing like a bodybuilder, even though I barely had any muscle on me. "You flex." Chara said, seemingly enjoying this little competition, "Aaron flexes very hard…" We then watched as Aaron, somehow flexed himself out of the room. "He flexes himself out of the room! YOU WON! You earned 0 EXP and 30 gold."
We blinked in surprise at this, but both of us had small smiles on our faces, as we proceeded over the small wooden bridge, I saw a wooden sign in the middle of the water, and asked, "Hey Chara, can you check out that sign, please?"
Chara smiled softly at me and she said, "Sure thing." She then flew over to the sign with a small smile, but she returned with an annoyed look. "That sign says 'Congratulations! You failed the puzzle!' Whoever put that sign there likes to screw with people. Probably Sans."
I couldn't really argue against her, then I looked over to my right, and saw some kind of path on the other side of the water. So, grabbing four Bridge Seeds, I floated them across the water and watched as they opened up, once I crossed them, me and Chara found ourselves in a small room with only a single Echo Flower, and a lone bench.
I noticed something under the bench, and Chara said, "There's a lone quiche sitting underneath this bench." I took a look at the quiche and Chara said, "'Abandoned Quiche' Heals 34 HP. A psychologically damaged spinach egg pie. Who would leave this here? And why?"
It was then that I walked close to the flower, and heard an unknown women's voice say, "I just wasn't ready for the responsibility."
Hearing this caused me to feel empty and hurt, and looking down at the quiche, even though it was only food, I couldn't help but feel bad for it, so I carefully put it in my satchel. But when I turned to Chara, I saw that she was sitting on the bench, and tears were falling onto the ground. "CHARA!?" I cried out in shock. I ran to her and wrapped her into a hug. "Chara, what's wrong?" She didn't answer me right away, but instead she wrapped her arms around me, holding onto me tightly, and I could actually feel her tears fall onto my shirt. I held her close as I softly asked, "Chara, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
She didn't answer me for a while, and I was really starting to get worried, but then I heard her speak, her voice sounded distant, and hurt, "I'm sorry, Frisk, it's just that… hearing those words from that Echo Flower reminded me of my own past."
I held her tightly as I asked, "Do you want to talk about it, Chara?"
***TRIGGER WARNING LAST CHANCE TO SKIP DOWN BEFORE BEING SCARRED BY WHAT IS TO COME***
I heard her whimper, as if remembering her own past hurt her deeply, I was just about to tell her that she didn't have to, but Chara said, "My mother was a cruel women, she was a violent alcoholic, and would go on a blind rampage when she really drunk, sometimes she would beat me, she would either use her belt and leave bruises, or punch me repeatedly in the stomach. And this all started when I was around five years old."
I gasped in shock at this, and it only became worse as she said, "And my father wasn't any better. He was a very abusive man, would flip out for any small thing, like if he couldn't find his watch, that was always in the same spot every day, if his cigarettes were missing, any small thing, he would flip out. By the time I had turned seven, my parents heard of the tales of The Demon Who Comes When You Speak Its Name. And because at that time, my village hated monsters with no remorse, and because my parents didn't seem to care about me, they threw me into some kind of facility that seemed to have been designed to try to turn a human into an emotionless killer."
It was then that I started to realize just why she hated humans, and why she never wanted to talk about it. Before I could comfort her, she sniffled and rubber nose as she said, "For an entire year those people did everything they could to try to make me into an emotionless monster killer." She then gently pushed me off her as she slowly turned her back to me before lifting her shirt up, and my eyes widened in shock at what I had saw.
Scars riddled her back, there was not a single part of her back that wasn't covered in scars, but it was what was etched into the middle of her back emblazoned with scorch marks that made me want to throw up. Three words were etched into her back.
'Unloved'
'Unwanted'
'DEMON'
Now, I never really hated anyone before in my life. I told Chara that humans suck, but I could never bring myself to hate them, until now. Chara slowly lowered her shirt once more as she said, "The first one was etched into my back when I first arrived. My 'masters' as they had FORCED me call them, or suffer consequences, told me that it was proof that I was unloved, that I will never be loved, by anybody. The second was etched onto my back six months later, when they told me that everyone knew I was here, but nobody cared. And that no one even WANTED me in the village. The last one was etched into my back the week before I escaped. my 'masters' said that once I was broken, I would have been thrown into the hole in Mount Ebott, and pretty much be used to kill every monster down here. But I escaped, after a year of being a prisoner, being beaten, scared, tortured, and being made to believe that my life was meaningless, I had managed to knock out one of the guards who was leading me to another torture session, and escaped into the night."
My god. How can this poor girl even remain sane after all of this. "Chara, how did you... hoe did you manage to not lose yourself after all that?" I asked her, absolutely horrified at what has happened to this poor young girl.
Chara laughed darkly as she said, "Honestly? I have no fucking idea, Frisk. Maybe it was my Determination SOUL that kept me from losing it, or maybe it was my dreams of one day escaping and killing every human being in my home. At this point, I don't remember. And I don't want to. After I jumped down that hole, the impact from the fall, while it didn't kill me, it definitely broke a few bones in my legs, that was when Asriel found me and brought me into his home, and I was adopted by the Dreemurr's and the rest, you know. Mom tried her best to heal my wounds, but there was nothing she could have done. Her healing magic could heal day old cuts and scratches, but not burn marks and scars, unfortunately."
***Safe Zone here***
I couldn't believe it, and I didn't even think as I once more hugged Chara tightly, surprising her. I was crying because I knew that it was my fault that she had to remember all that. "I'm sorry, Chara." I told her through my tears.
"Sorry? For what, Frisk?" Chara asked me, confusion in her shaky voice.
"I'm sorry for making you relive all those horrors. But I promise you, I won't make you relive those days ever again. Besides, you know that those scars on your back are wrong." I said, my face in her hair, feeling a strange comfort being like this.
"What do you mean, Frisk? How do I know that those words are wrong?" She asked me, almost in a dead voice, which, in any other scenario, I would have chuckled at, but I didn't.
Instead I gripped her shoulder tightly and said, "You are not a demon, because if you really were, regardless of how I may act, you would have killed me and taken my SOUL the moment we met. But you didn't, in fact, you even went out of your way to help ME feel better when I was breaking down when you asked if I was gay. A demon, a real demon wouldn't care, but you do, you cared, so you can't be a demon."
I heard Chara lightly chuckle as she said, "You're such a naïve little kid, Frisk."
I giggled a little before saying, "Maybe, but you also know that you weren't unloved, or unwanted." I looked at Chara in the eyes and said, "The Dreemurr's wanted you, and they loved you, Chara. You became part of their family, even though you were a human, you were wanted, you are loved."
I watched as Chara rubbed her eyes before saying, "Thank you, Frisk. You have no idea how much that means to me to hear you say that."
I gently grabbed her hand and said, "And besides, there is one more person who loves you, Chara."
Chara looked at me in the eyes as she started to blush and asked, "W-what do you mean, Frisk? Who else loves me?"
I smiled softly as I gazed deeply into her eyes, feeling like I was staring into a red abyss, then I said in a voice so soft, it could have been a whisper, "Me. I love you, Chara. And I am not talking about the Levels Of ViolencE, kind of love, or sibling kind of love either. What I feel, is real love, Chara."
It was then that Chara's eyes widened widely, and her light pink cheeks turned a bright crimson red, then she stuttered out, "Fr-Frisk, don't te-tease me li-like this."
I shook my head and said, "I'm not teasing you, Chara. You are really adorable, you're extremely nice, you have been supporting me since I fell down here. You were the first person to have ever supported me, or even be kind to me since I revealed that I was gay. You have been more kind to me than anyone else in my village."
I could see that Chara was still blushing, but there was a small smile on her face as she said, "Frisk, all my life, I was beaten, abused, and SCARRED by everyone, my family, my village, I hated them and tried to kill myself after I escaped, but was saved by the monsters of the Underground. And now, here, over a century after my death, I find myself bound to a human who has been through as much shit as I have, and still remain strong. I had found a family in the Dreemurr's, something that I never really had, and now…"
I found myself growing worried when Chara hesitated, he words, but then she closed her eyes and took a deep breath and said, "I must admit, the past few days I have been finding myself feeling emotions I have never felt before, and I'll admit that…" The sudden silence made me feel like time had frozen in place and it frightened me.
Then after what felt like an eternity, Chara spoke up, her voice soft and she said, "I'll admit that… I have fallen for you, Frisk. Your drive to always do the right thing, to do everything in your power to make everyone happy, even at the risk of your own happiness, your kind and gentle nature, it made me realize that not all humans are bad. You, have become my shining star in the vast darkness that I was trapped in. And… I wouldn't mind seeing where this could go, Frisky."
I had never felt so much happiness before in my life, but before I could squeal in joy, Chara put a finger to my lips and gently said, "Let's make some ground rules before we get ahead of ourselves, my little Frisky Frisk."
I blushed in embarrassment at my new nickname before asking, "What ground rules are we talking about, Chara?" I asked my, would girlfriend be the right word, now?
Chara looked down to me and said, "Frist: Seeing how we're both new to this whole 'dating' thing, I think it'd be wise to take baby steps. I think we both learned from our 'date' with Papyrus not to dive head-first into this without getting to know each other better, right?"
I had to admit, she was right, Papyrus was cute and everything, but he kind of rushed into a date without getting to really 'know' each other. "Okay, that makes sense. What else, Chara?"
"Well, continuing from my previous statement, let's keep the kissing mushy stuff for until we feel more… comfortable around each other, okay?" Chara said, a small blush of embarrassment on her face.
I could understand this one, if a little disappointed in the fact that we wouldn't be kissing, yet. We're both, technically preteens and just starting to enter puberty, plus, we're still kids, no need to really be awkward or anything.
"Second: We are still friends, no need to act any different towards each other, no need to walk on eggshells around each other, and we should try to keep the lovey-dovey stuff to a bare minimum when we're around others for the time being."
I nodded at this, "Right, the less people know about you the better. And we haven't really gone on any REAL 'dates' yet, so best to takes things slow and simple, right?"
Chara nodded as she said, "Right. Third: Always be vigilant for Flowey. We still don't know who he is, or what his plan is, but I rather not figure out how dangerous he can really be."
Okay, that made sense, Flowey was by far, the second most dangerous monster I have met, he was the first, but Undyne took that title when she aimed a spear at me. "Fair enough, Chara. So, does this make us, girlfriends, Chara?" I asked, a deep crimson blush taking over my cheeks.
And the same could have been said for Chara as well, she was trying to keep her blush down as she said, "Well, I suppose it does, Frisk." Hearing this caused me to feel something pulse in my very SOUL. It was a strange, warm feeling, something that I couldn't explain, but I felt… stronger.
Hope to live strengthened. Maximum HP raised.
Current Maximum HP: 16.5
You are filled with Determination And Love
I leaned in and kissed her on the cheek and said, "Thank you, Chara. For everything."
Chara blushed lightly and leaned in and kissed me on the cheek and said, "Thank you, Frisk, for showing me that there is still good in the world."
We simply sat there for a few moments, simply enjoying each other's company. But while we wanted to stay for longer, we both knew that stood up from the bench and said, "Well, why don't we get moving, Chara?"
Chara silently nodded, before tightening her grip and together we walked over the water-flowers and I saw that more had bloomed where the original ones were, it was then that I noticed a sign in the distance, and walked towards it, and Chara softly said, "If an error is made, the Bell Blossom can call back the Bridge Seeds back to where they started."
"Well, that's good to know." I said as I began to look around and saw that the distance between this side of the room and the other seemed to be the right distance, but when I tried, only three fit, so, sighing to myself, I rang the bell, returning the three seeds to their original place, before grabbing the first one and began looking around for the answer.
It was then that I noticed something. A small bridge of sorts, that only reached halfway to the other side, but the path went right to the waterfall, and seeing in my minds eye, I placed the first seed down, and watched as it stopped at the falls. I grabbed a second one and did the same thing.
One by one, the seeds made it to the other side, then, with the fourth and final seed, I said, "Well, here's hoping that this working."
I grabbed the last seed, but Chara grabbed it as well and she said, "Let's let this last one float, together."
At first, I didn't understand what she had meant, but I soon understood and nodded. "Yeah, let's do it." And together, we pushed the Bridge Seed gently across the gentle waters, it was like the flower moved in slow-motion, and I swear that through the ripples of the water, I saw images of other monsters, of Toriel, the women that I felt more comfortable to call a mother. Sans and Papyrus. Sans who seemed like a laid-back uncle with a love for bad skeleton puns and pranks. And Papyrus was the goofy little brother who would give his spine for someone in need, literally.
And Chara, my SOUL bound girlfriend and partner, I even saw monsters I have never met before, a strange blue fish lady with a missing eye, a very handsome looking robot, a timid looking dinosaur creature, and two other goat monsters, a tall one dressed like a king, most likely Asgore, and a small silhouette of a goat monster, but I couldn't see it's face. Whatever it was I was seeing, all I knew, was that for me and Chara, our adventure has only just begun. And it felt that this flower was just like it was, a bridge, one that would reconnect humans and monsters once more.
Me and Chara watched as the flowers bloomed open, I smiled at Chara and asked, "Ready to move on, hon?"
Chara lightly blushed at what I called her, but nodded and said, "Whenever you are, hon."
We proceeded to walk over the bridge, but stopped when my phone started ringing, I had almost forgotten about it, and quickly answered it and asked, "Hello?" I was starting to get worried, mom hadn't called since we left the Ruins, and so much has happened that I had completely forgotten to call her and ask how she's doing.
Me and Chara were expecting mom to answer, but instead, a loud, but familiar voice said, "HELLO! THIS IS PAPYRUS!"
Chara was shocked at this, "How does he have our number? He only gave us his, but we never gave him ours." Chara said in complete shock.
And I couldn't blame her, but before I could ask what Chara had asked, Papyrus asked, "HOW DID I GET THIS NUMBER…?" Okay, Did Papyrus actually hear Chara, or did he know what I was going to ask him? Instead, we heard Papyrus say, "IT WAS EASY! I JUST DIALED EVERY NUMBER SEQUENTIALLY UNTIL I GOT YOURS! NYEH HEH HEH HEH!"
I heard Chara scoff before softly saying, "Because THAT'S not strange at all."
"SO… WHAT ARE YOU WEARING…?" I heard the loud skeleton ask me, and I was starting to feel uncomfortable at that question.
"What did he just say?" I heard Chara ask in disbelief, clearly unnerved at Papyrus at the moment.
Then Papyrus nervously said, "I'M… ASKING FOR A FRIEND. SHE THOUGHT THAT SHE SAW YOU WEARING A FADED RIBBON."
Me and Chara shared a look, both of us worried about what would happen if Undyne caught up with us, then I realized what Papyrus was clueing us in on as he asked, "IS THAT TRUE? ARE YOU WEARING A FADED RIBBON?"
Deciding that I would tell him the truth, I said, "Yes, I am, Papyrus."
"SO YOU ARE WEARING A FADED RIBBON…" Papyrus asked me, and I could hear the nervousness in his voice as he asked his question. Then he loudly said, "GOT IT! WINK WINK! HAVE A NICE DAY!" Before I could even ask what was going on, Papyrus hung up on us.
I turned to Chara and said, "I think Papyrus was hinting at me to take this ribbon out, at least for the moment."
Chara simply nodded as she said, "I guess so, why not wear that tutu, Frisky? I think it might look cute on you."
I blushed as I carefully unwrapped the ribbon from my hair, before placing it in my satchel, then taking out the tutu, after I put it on, Chara said, "Old Tutu – Armor DEF 10. Finally, a protective piece of armor."
Choosing to ignore Chara, I picked up my phone once again, this time I dialed mom's number, and waited several seconds with no one picking up, it instead went straight to voicemail, I sighed and said, "Hey, mom. I know I haven't called you since I left, and I'm sorry, but things just happened very quickly after I left. I was just calling to let you know that I'm safe. I've made it through Snowdin and made a few friends, and I am currently in Waterfall. Well, if you get this message, just know that I haven't given up on finding a way to free everyone down here, I made a promise to come home to you, and I'm going to keep it. Well, talk to you later, mom. Love you. Goodbye."
After I had left my message, me and Chara walked into the next room, where we found several Echo Flowers, and a single plaque, I walked up to the first Echo Flower and heard it say, "A long time ago, monsters would whisper their wishes to the stars in the sky. If you hoped with all heart, your wish would come true. Now, all we have are these sparkling stones on the ceiling…"
I remained silent as Chara read the plaque. "It simply says 'WISHING ROOM, Frisky."
I nodded as I said, "Should've known, well, let's see what the other flowers have to say, shall we?"
But before we could move onwards, a strange washing machine fish creature with a rubber duck in a glass dome appeared before us and Chara said, "Woshua shuffles up." I used my Check ability and Chara said, "WOSHUA – ATK 18 DEF 5. This humble germaphobe seeks to cleanse the whole world."
When I heard this, I quickly thought that she had meant erase all living creatures on Earth, but simply thought that was silly. Then I heard Woshua say, "Scrub a dub-dubs." Then it started throwing bars of soap at me, which I had to try my hardest to avoid, and luckily, I managed to, but I had to jump to avoid the last attack, and I landed on the ground, and I got a little dirty.
That was when I had an idea. I turned to Woshua and said, "Excuse me, Woshua. Can you help me clean off this dirt, please?"
Hearing my request, the Woshua started jumping up and down as they unleashed another attack while saying, "Green means clean." Woshua then unleashed a torrent of water, but through all the water, I saw several green droplets, and grabbed them before washing myself off, before being completely spotless.
I smiled at Woshua, who was smiling proudly before saying, "Woshua, I have chosen to SPARE you. Thank you for the cleaning, by the way."
Woshua jumped up and down excitedly before leaving, and Chara said, "YOU WON! You earned 0 EXP and 25 gold."
I was happy that I wasn't gaining any EXP, I don't think I could handle the thoughts of killing anyone. As I approached the next flower, I heard a recorded voice say, "Thousands of people wishing together can't be wrong. The king will prove that."
The more and more I hear monsters hopes, dreams, and wishes, the more and more I want to free them, I looked down to my hand and I said, "Hearing all these wishes for freedom, its fill me with determination."
Chara looked at me and she asked, "You're not trying to take my job as the 'narrator' of your adventure, are you, Frisky?"
I smiled at her before shaking my head and said, "No, I'm not, it is just what I feel right now. I'll do whatever it takes to free monsterkind from the Underground. No matter the price." I said the last part as softly as I could.
As I approached the next two flowers, I heard a kids voice say, "C'mon, sis! Make a wish!"
"I wish my sister and I will see the real stars someday…" The same voice said from the flower next to the previous one, and my heart reached out for these kids.
I noticed that there was only one more flower in the room, as well as a telescope, I decided to check out the flower first, see what it had to say. "Ah… seems my horoscope is the same as last week's…"
I was a little confused as to what that had meant, but I decided to see what the telescope would show me. Looking through it, I saw bunches of glowing rocks, then as I was moving the telescope, I saw a bright blue spot when it appeared that there were words written on the telescope, seems like this written in English for a change. "CHECK WALL" It had said.
So, being the curious little girl that I was, I walked down the long rocky path, and knocked on the wall, and me and Chara watched as a hidden doorway revealed itself.
We came to a new location where several plaques were, I approached the first one and Chara said, "The War of Humans and Monsters."
We proceeded to read each of the plaques, without interruptions, and each one made me more and more angry at my own species. "Why did the humans attack? Indeed, it seemed that they had nothing to fear. Humans are unbelievably strong. It would take the SOUL of nearly every monster in the Underground, just to equal the power of a single human SOUL."
Hearing that made me really angry, monsters were always peace-loving creatures, it was the humans who started the war. "But humans have one weakness. Ironically, it is the strength of their SOUL. It's power allows it to persist outside the human body, even after death. If a monster defeats a human, they can take it's SOUL. A monster with a human SOUL… A horrible beast with unfathomable power."
We approached the last plaque and saw some kind of illustration of a strange creature, it was very unsettling, to say the least. We noticed that we had reached the last plaque, and all that was in front of us now was a small wooden platform, I turned to Chara and said, "Well, only way to go now is forward, huh?"
"Seems that way, Frisky, just be careful on that thing." Chara said to me, concern clear in her voice, but it was clear that she had faith that the thing would support me. So, taking a careful step forward, I had to drop to my knees to grab onto the platform, so I don't fall off, and as quickly as the thing moved, we had stopped. I looked around and saw that we were on the other side of the water already.
So, taking a careful step forward, and got off of the boat/platform thing, and watched as it floated away. "Well, guess I'm not going back the same way I came, huh."
Chara simply nodded silently as we made our way into the next room, when it seemed to be very dark, after taking a few steps forward, I was halted in my tracks when a blue spear was impaled several inches in front of me, I looked up and I saw the armored monster known as Undyne, then, I didn't even think, I ran, trying to escape from this silent predator that was hunting me.
"Dodge left! Now right! Whatever you do, don't stop running, Frisk!" Chara yelled at me, and I wasn't even going to risk talking back to her in fear of being impaled by a stray spear. I kept running and running until I saw a lot of tall grass up ahead, and without even thinking, I jumped into the grass and put my back to the wall and remained motionless, waiting for Undyne to pass by.
I held my breath as I watched Undyne march closer and closer to me, I watched as she stopped almost right in front of me, and raised her hand, I closed my eyes and waited for the moment when I would have been yanked upwards and killed, but as the seconds pass by, and I was still alive, I opened my eyes to see that Undyne was holding Cedric by his head, before Undyne quickly put him back down and patted his head before walking off.
I felt my heart beating rapidly as I was mere inches away from certain death, I slowly stood up and walked out of the tall grass, in the opposite direction of where Undyne had left, just as I exited the grass, I heard something run out of the grass, afraid it was Undyne, I quickly turned and breathed a sigh of relief to see Cedric was behind me.
He had the biggest smile on his face as he said, "Yo… did you see that!? Undyne just… TOUCHED ME! I'm never washing my face ever again…!"
I held back a barf, before I said, "I don't think that's sanitary, Cedric."
But he wasn't listening as he happily said, "Man, are you unlucky. If you were standing just a LITTLE bit to the left…!" The way he let his words hang in the air sent a chill down my spine. "Yo, don't worry! I'm sure we'll see her again!"
I pulled at my shirt collar as I softly said, "That's what I'm afraid of, Cedric." Me and Chara watched as Cedric started running on ahead, before falling on his face again, before picking himself up.
I swallowed hard as the realization of how close to death I had just been, I felt Chara gently take hold of my hand, and I looked right at her, I could see that she was as terrified as I was, and it was only then that I had realized that my whole body was shaking, without even thinking, I brought the ghost girl into a tight hug, and started crying into her arms. "I'm sorry, I must look like a mess, Chara." I said in between my tears.
Chara didn't say anything, and instead gently rubbed my back as she softly said, "Shh, shh, Frisky. You're all right, you're still here, I'M still here. I'll admit that it was frightening to see Undyne chase you like that, but you managed to escape her, and you're not even scratched. That is impressive, Frisk."
I smiled softly as I asked, "So, I guess this means that you knew Undyne, then, Chara?"
Chara nodded softly as she said, "Yeah, she was mine and Asriel's bodyguard, back before everything went wrong. But can we please not talk about that right now, Frisk?"
I simply nodded and said, "Yeah, that's fair."
We slowly entered the next room and found another piece of cheese on yet another table, this one seemed to have been crystalized somehow. And another mousehole, and an Echo Flower, "This cheese has been here so long, a magical crystal has grown around it. It's stuck to the table."
I walked up to the Save Point that was in the room and Chara said, "Knowing the mouse might one day extract the cheese from the mystical crystal… It feels you with determination."
I couldn't help the small smile that made its way onto my face. We were both ready for the next part of our adventure. We were filled with Determination, and blossoming love.
Thechaosmaster: Well, I think this is a good place to stop at.
Red: Kinda shorter then your last chapter, boss.
Chaos: Well that last chapter without my Author notes was 23, 627 words. And this one has about little over 10, 000. And according to Microsoft Office, 89 pages.
Red: Well, damn. Ever wonder how many pages your other chapters are?
Chaos: I do, but I don't want to find out. Best guess, DigiHearts 2 Prologue has over 100 pages. That I know is certain, anyways, let me get a few things clear, Chara's backstory.
Blossom: Yeah, like, damn. I didn't think you could have written something as dark as that, and you pretty much written your own death in a story.
Chaos: It is why you should never judge a book by it's cover. But, yeah, and tell you all the truth, I had no idea it was going to be as dark as I had made it out to be.
Blossom: What do you mean? You are the only one writing the stories after all.
Chaos: True, but I write everything without that much planning ahead. Oh, sure, I like to have small plans for how I'm going to write a chapter out, but not everything is going to be simple. Hell, this chapter is proof that nothing goes according to plan. Note, Chara was not sexually abused, before anyone starts thinking that, no, I may like to write dark pasts, but sexual abuse is something that I don't want to write. I want my characters to be sympathetic, but strong, not raped or any of that darkest shit. Now, originally, I was going to have Chara and Frisk have their first kiss while they were sitting on the bench, and I even wrote that out, but when I had to do some cleaning, I realized that, while I am a real sucker for romance, for Frisk and Chara, I wanted their first kiss to be more, fluff and cutesy, but also during a more powerful moment.
Blossom: Aren't you supposed to be a dude?
Chaos: Oh, I am a dude, doesn't mean I can't have a soft side. Anyways, I have a question, not about this story, but about how you guys pronounce Chara's name. I pronounce it like Car a, just like that. Do you guys and gals and nonbinary do the same, or do you pronounce it like Char-a. Like Chara-zard? Care a? Or any other way? You know what I'm talking about. I only ask because, I'm curious.
Blossom: By the way, what was up with Papyrus acting all, quiet, back there?
Chaos: Well, I like to believe that Pappy isn't oblivious to what happens between him, instead, I like to think that he chooses to be overly cheerful because, he doesn't want to see people hurt or sad. And yeah, I know that I had Chara die a hundred years ago, and she knew Undyne yada yada, but we don't really know how long monsters live. And we know that Gerson has been alive since the war, and he's not even a Boss Monster, and he's already pretty freaking old, anyways, if you have any questions, leave your reviews, I may sound desperate, but that's kinda because I kinda am. Reviews help me see how people enjoy my stories. Even if it is just something like, 'Please update soon' I wouldn't mind, but please remember, I like to know how people think of my stories, when I have over 400 people reading this story, but I only have a single reviewer, which Kamorek, thank you for the review, enjoy the Charisk fluff that I have started.
Blossom: So, their romance has already begun?
Chaos: Yes, they are 'officially' a couple, but I'll be saving all the kissing stuff for later on in the story. Most likely, I'll have them have their first kiss somewhere in Hotland, like I don't know, nothing ever really goes according to plan. Anyways, hope everyone enjoyed the Charisk that was in this chapter, I am going to lie down for a while and read other peoples Undertale stories and listen to music while imitating Blooky and feel like garbage for a while, before I continue onwards with the next chapter. It has been a whole week since I updated and hopefully this long chapter has pleased everyone.
Red: Just sign off already, you're talking your mouth off, again. Bye everyone.
Chaos: *Sigh* Sorry for the delays in updates everyone, I try my best, but as I said up top, ADHD and writing never seem to go well together.
CHAOS CONTROL!
