"There are two things I hate. Waiting and being rushed." Yusuke complained as he pouts like a child with arms and legs crossed. "And what you know, that's all I had been doing lately."

"Well Yusuke, important people like Koenma are always quite busy." Reasoned Botan who had been keeping Yusuke with her company for the past week or so. He scoffed at that before turning away from the blue-haired girl.

Ever since that fire incident, the teen spirit had been nothing but impatient. He wants to get this revival done fast, but it seems like Koenma had other important things to take care of, leaving Yusuke in a corner and make him wait.

"Hah, those guys just like to keep you waiting to make you think they're important." Yusuke grumbled under his breath. "Besides, how busy a toddler can be?"

"I thought we agreed you would stop calling me that." The said person appeared behind Yusuke and it gave him quite a fright.

"Koenma!" Yusuke shouted.

"Yo!" Koenma greets him and his colleague back. As soon as Yusuke recovered from the shock, he became pissed.

"Don't sneak up on me it really pisses me off-!" Yusuke shouted but Botan quickly took action and shut the boy up.

"Hey, Koenma sir." Botan began as she nervously laughed in front of her boss. "Yusuke was just wondering when would it be a good time to bring him back to life." She saved as Yusuke was trying to free himself from the girl's grasp.

"Ah yes about that matter, it seems we are going to have to rush. " Koenma said making Yusuke growl at the toddler spirit once Botan released him.

"Come with me!" Koenma called as he flew over to Yusuke, grab him by the hand, and as a speed of light rushed over to his new home where his family is living now.

In the living room, Atsuko was sitting in a comfortable chair while her daughter was writing the notes, and homework Keiko had given her during the day. Since the incident, Miyuki finally managed to check the wound the fire had marked her with. The doctor said it will probably heal within two or three weeks, but for the time being, he advises a lot of rest along with one week off from school, also giving a paper in case the girl will have to go to Gym Class.

"Nice pad, my mother must have had good fire insurance." Yusuke said, making Miyuki's pen froze at the end of the sentence." So, are we going to put me back in my body now? " Her brother continued on as her sister slowly got up from her seat and began putting her notes away.

"Not just yet." Koenma replied as he turned to Yusuke. "Energy in the body and energy of the soul have their own wavelengths unless the two are perfectly aligned. They cannot join, which won't happen till tomorrow." The news got the boy excited and of course, he can't help but grin.

"Wow, starting tomorrow I'll be a real human with fists and everything!" He said as his smile became a lot bigger.

"Well, that's the best-case scenario." Koenma pointed out with a tone that made Yusuke frown. "There is a small problem." The toddler then pointed one finger at the spirit boy that it almost touched Yusuke's nose. "The frequencies of your wavelength, interesting enough, are lower than most peoples. If you miss this chance tomorrow, you'll have to wait a while till they regaling" Oblivious to all of them, Miyuki, who was standing by the door frame was listening to their conversation.

"What are we talking about? Like weeks or months?" Yusuke asked puzzled.

"Fifty-two years." The answer freaked the boy out entirely.

"FIFTY-TWO YEARS?!" Yusuke screamed as his jaw dropped.

"Yes, but I think it would be wise if you would try to do it tomorrow instead." Koenma replied with a serious tone. "In order to do that you need someone from the living world, who cares about you at least a little bit to donate the live energy."

"You mean like a human sacrifice?" Yusuke asked a little confused.

"Are you kidding? I'm not evil." Koenma said before his eyes twinkled with mischief, as he pulled out a sly face. "They must give it to you, Through the Lips."

Yusuke's eyes widen while letting out a high-pitched growl. If looks could kill Koenma would be dead right now for more than ten times. As for Yusuke's little sister she bit onto her curled up index finger, preventing herself from letting out the noises that almost left her throat.

"I don't see what's so surprising about that." Koenma said. "Haven't you heard of mouth to mouth resuscitation?"

"I guess so." This made Yusuke swallow back his insults and just sigh, knowing he can argue with this because it's true. Koenma took out his pocket watch and looked at the time, that just hit midnight.

"It's time now." He announced before putting it back into his pocket and raised both hands above Yusuke's sleepy head. Miyuki narrowed her eyes at him, curious about what is that little kid is about to do. To the siblings' surprise, his palms began to glow in a light green colour, then green strings light went from Koenma's fingertips and it began to wrap themselves around the boy's body.

"Hey! Why are you making me glow?!" Yusuke shouted.

"Standard procedure." Koenma replied casually. "I'm opening the road between your body and the Spirit world so the transfer can be made, and in the morning your body will shine in gold. Tonight, while your body rests, you must enter the dreams of the four people who want you back the most." He paused while the shining effect began to die down, meaning Koenma had done his part. "Tell them each what to do, and if one of them understands the message and kisses you before tomorrow at midnight, you'll return back to the living world."

"Four people huh?" Yusuke asked as his mind tried to think of those people. Atsuko was about to pour another round for herself but the drink was long gone and only drops came out of the bottle.

"Poo, empty already?" Asked the drunk mother with a hint of annoyance in her voice. "Must be a sign of somebody is thinking about me at the bar." With that, she began to make her way towards Miyuki who was still at the same spot.

"Hey there Miyu. Watch over your brother and the house while I'm gone, okay?" The mother said as she stubbled one step forward and give a kiss on her daughter's cheek before making her way out of the door laughing at nothing. Once she was completely out Miyuki rubbed her slobbery kiss from her skin as her lips let out a sigh of relief and sadness since she knew her mother's habits still hasn't changed.

"The first is your mother, who seems to be leaving now." Koenma informed Yusuke.

"It won't work." Miyuki spoke up as she made her way toward the spirits who were quite taken aback by the fact that she was actually talking to them. "Knowing her she will be on this streak for days." She continued on her statement ignoring the shocked faces and her brother's freaked out expression.

"WOAH-HEY, HANG ON A MINUTE! YOU CAN SEE US?!" Yusuke shouted as he pointed one finger at me.

"Now, yes." I said casually.

"Wait, what do you mean now? What about earlier?!" Yusuke asked, or more like still screaming like a banshee.

"Well, I mostly felt things, but after the fire incident I started to see too." I replied with a monotone tone as my hand subconsciously grabbed my bandaged shoulder. Then my eyes went to the girl with pink kimono and the toddler dressed in purple with a large hat and blue pacifier. "Who are these people?" Before my brother had a chance to answer the blue-haired girl floated toward me, taking me aback a little.

"Woah, how extraordinary." The blue-haired girl said with excitement in her voice. "I have never seen such a talented soul with abilities like yours. Especially from someone human." She then took my hand into hers and began shaking it. "The name is Botan by the way." The strange spirit girl, Botan, introduced herself. "It's an honour to finally meet you in eye to eye." I didn't say anything and just stood there dumbfounded at this weird girl who was leaning into my face, way too close for comfort. I had to lean back so I can even breath some air.

"Can we take the girly sleepover for another time and focus on about the people close to me?" Yusuke reminded the young girl who apologized with a girly giggle like some kind of high-schooler. The baby figure nodded his head as he turned his gaze away from my direction.

"Very well then." He sighed. "The next option should be obvious to you, but. . ." The toddler floated toward me, almost getting into my face. Jeez, what's the deal with people or well, spirits getting into my aura? "Hmmm." He narrowed his eyes at me like he was trying to look into my mind. I just rose an eyebrow at the kid. What's his problem?

"What? Did I got something nasty on my face?" I asked him a dully.

"But what Koenma?" Botan asked the kid who finally got away from me. A pregnant pause later, Koenma spoke again.

"Looks like we have to make that three to two people." Koenma announced suddenly making Yusuke's eyes go wide while I mentally sighed in relief. I want to help my brother but there is no way in heaven I am going to waste my first kiss him. That's just absurd.

"What?!" Yusuke cried out. "But why?!"

"Well, it seems like your sister is possessing something." Koenma informed my brother and me.

What? Me?

"Excuse me?" I asked confused and a little offended. "What do you mean by 'possessing something'? " I asked him with a little hint of curiosity in my voice.

"I don't know exactly, but what I do know for sure is that it would probably mess up the process of putting the body and spirit back together." The toddler explained.

"So, then who are those two people that left?" Yusuke asked.

"You should know." Koenma said. "They're the people closest to you."

"Okay, I'm sure Keiko is one of them, and the last one must be. . . " Yusuke concluded in his head before his entire face turned into a grimace. "Oh, hell no! "

"Well, you and Botan better hurry before the sun comes up." Koenma instructed them.

"But what about you Koenma sir?" Botan asked confused. Wait, sir? Did she lose her mind or there is something?

"I'm going to take care of some business while taking Miyuki to the Spirit world." Koenma said as he turned to my direction. "Since you can see us, we have some things to discuss. "

"Spirit world?" I asked a little confused since I have never heard of a place with this name.

"You will learn it all soon, but first I need you to go to bed and sleep so I can awake your spiritual body." Explained the toddler which got me even more confused.

"Say what now?" I muttered with a deadpan and a shocked voice. However, I regained my composure as soon as I turned to my brother.

"Once we are all done, we are going to have a long talk brother dearest." I told him in a warning tone before going to my room with Koenma floating close by. And let me admit it, I don't like this at all.

While Yusuke and Botan were waiting and watching over the two people who would help him come back to life, Koenma and Miyuki had a long conversation where the young ruler explains everything to the girl. Not only that he also told the silky black-haired girl that he wants to recruit her brother to be his Spirit Detective but to her surprise and shock she was also chosen.

"Let me get this straight." Miyuki began as she was pacing around Koenma's office. "You want to make me a Spirit Detective along with my brother because I have these strange abilities? "

"To put it that way, yes." The toddler replied with a nod of his head. " Strange, but special powers that have many potentials and it would be a shame to let it go to waste. " He then jumped onto his desk and was now in an eye-level in front of the Urameshi girl. "However, since yours is different from your brother's it requires some training." Koenma pointed out earning a puzzled look from Miyuki.

"Training?" She asked, but the idea gives her some interest.

"Yup." Koenma replied. "High spiritual awareness and energy like that, you need to learn how to control it to use it when it comes to missions. Especially those water bending abilities." Miyuki's eyes widen at that. Her legs stopped pacing while her eyes widened in the slightest as the rest of her expression remained stoic. "That's right Miyuki. I had heard it from many of my investigators who accidentally came across you." Koenma explained calmly.

The girl turned her back to the little toddler.

"I already promised to never use it. Ever." She said as she remembered the time she first discovered her ability to control water.

The laughter of those bullies and the names they called her, just because she wanted to show her gift. And then there was the second, but the most awful reason why she had stopped using it.

. . . That very memory that made her feel like a burden. . .

"It's useless and just causes more trouble. . . " The girl trailed of as a small hint of sadness slipped within her tone.

"I know it might be hard after going through such an awful experience in your past, but here you can use it to help us." Koenma told her sincerely, earning a small scoff from the chosen girl.

"Help for what? " Miyuki asked emotionlessly like she was lost in the world of emptiness, not knowing what to do or expect. . .

"To help the human realm, demon and spirit realm be in balance." Koenma said as he leaned forward. Miyuki looked down at the palms of her hands as memories began flashing through her mind. "So, what do you say Miyuki Urameshi? Will you accept it?" Koenma asked as he went back to his chair as he watched the teen girl intensely, waiting patiently for her answer.

Exhaling softly Miyuki turned away from Koenma and crossed her arms over her chest. She closed her eyes and entered her mind place where she looks through her chances of how this would turn out. She never had a chance like this. In fact, she wanted to reject the offer but something told her otherwise. Something felt off about Koenma and his deal. . . but then. . . her hand went up to her phoenix ring, triggering Miyuki's memories to come out of the depth of her heart.

Her promise to be stronger and better.

The vow to never be that cry-baby again. . .

To be someone she could be proud of. . .

Then she looked at the jewellery itself with her own chocolate-brown orbs that soon soften up as she remembered the last visit she had with Sanyu. . .

Maybe this could be her one and only chance to be someone better. . . To find that missing piece she has been looking for. . . .

Her flame. . .

The spark that could finally lit up the fire that once died down along with Sanyu. . .

The silence was heavy but Koenma said nothing and just waited patiently for the answer. A soft and loud sigh broke it up with Miyuki turning back to the toddler with eyes open.

"So?" Koenma asked the girl curiously. Nothing came out of the girl's mouth for a good three seconds. But then. . .

"I'll accept your offer."
