Chapter 7: Flash vs Quicksilver
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Hello, everyone! It's finally done! Took a while to finish because I wanted to make it as good as possible. If you haven't noticed, I'm a HUGE Barry Allen/Flash fan. While I like the Tv show version. I love the Blonde version a lot more. There are many reasons, one being that he doesn't rely so much on other people to solve problems. But anyways, yes if possible i'll try to do a fanficiton of this group watching the FlashPoint Paradox movie (I love that movie a lot!), the CW show and maybe even the 90's Flash show. Now reviews do help me work on these faster believe it or not. And Favorites are literally the best thing ever! So feel free to give both. Also if there are any recommendations for stories with Barry Allen in them please feel free to let me know about them. Hehe.
Anyways, on to the story.
Enjoy! ;0

Everyone settled down and prepared for the next episode after grabbing the snacks that they needed.

*Cues: Invader - Jim Johnston*
Boomstick: A long, long time ago, mankind began to walk.
Wiz: And then, we ran. And ever since that moment, we've been pushing speed to its very limit. Or in this case, past the point of absurdity.
Boomstick: The Flash, DC Comics' scarlet speedster.
There were a few cheers in the crowd. Which made the Flash Family laugh.
Wiz: And Quicksilver, Marvel's fast-talking Avenger.
Boomstick: He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick.
Wiz: And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win... a Death Battle.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
*Cues: Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox - Hell of a Messenger*
Wiz: From Wonder Woman to Superman, there's no shortage of DC heroes capable of achieving superhuman feats. But only one is truly synonymous with speed itself.
Boomstick: The Flash. Ahhh~!
Wiz: But, before he became the Flash, he was only known as Barry Allen.
*Cues: A Darker Past - Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox*
Boomstick: Like many superheroes, Barry's lacking in the whole "living parent" department.
Barry jolted. Having not expected something like that to have been said. Iris squeezed his hand reassuringly.
Wiz: One day after returning home, he discovered his mother had been murdered, and his father had been wrongly convicted of the crime.
Everyone watched as a different version of Barry watched his father being arrested.
Barry cleared his throat. Trying to shake off any lingering thoughts of that terrible night. Others, who knew Barry well, looked at him, concerned.
Boomstick: Knowing dad was innocent, Barry vowed to clear him of the crime and became... a forensic scientist for the Central City Police.
"Yeah, I definitely was different from others in the fact that even without powers I had been willing to risk anything to find the killer." Barry stated, causing Hal to raise an eyebrow.
"Yeah. I agree you're very different from the other superheroes. I mean who would take the logical approach by going to school to help the people who took your father away." Hal responded, sarcastically crossing his arms.
Barry looks irritated and a little shocked. "What? So you'd rather I'd have taken the other approach. Should I have gotten myself killed by going out there with no resources to fall back on?"
Hal looked applogic. "Look Bar. That's not what I meant."
"I'm not stupid like a lot of you assume I am. Just because I act all clueless and stuff doesn't mean that I don't know what I'm doing." Barry looked at all of the other members of the Justice League. "There were a lot of moments where I was treated as if I was too stupid to possibly take of myself. I usually wouldn't mind but this is insane. When we all got together to become a team. I expected to be treated as an equal but I guess I assumed too much, Huh."
"The reason I seem a little slow on the uptake is because as a speedster it sometimes takes me a moment to slow down and process things."
The league members looked a little guilty. They'd all had some moments where they'd thought the speedster was a little reckless and stupid.
*Cues: A Lot Happened That Night - The Flash*
Boomstick: Buuut dear old dad died before Barry could set him free.
Most people winced at that news. Most knew Barry's story by now. But there were still a few who didn't. And they all wondered how the speedster could always be so happy when he's suffered so much tragedy.
Hal spared a glance at his friend. Only people who took the time to get close with the speedster knew when he was upset or not happy. Hal was his best friend! So of course he could see through the happy mask his friend was using. It was the one he used when he didn't want to concern them with his problems.
Wiz: Wracked with grief, this only strengthened Barry's resolve to find his mother's real killer.
Boomstick: And on one fateful night, when he was doing some... sciency stuff, he got struck by lightning! And then fell into some chemicals.
Wiz: Now, normally, this would be incredibly fatal. But since this is comic books, Allen was imbued with the power to move his body at incredible speeds and became the Flash!
*Cues: The Mission of a Soldier - Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox*
Boomstick: Ahhh! You're probably thinking "Okay, cool, he's like, fast enough to run across water now," but there's a whole slew of other benefits that come with his new power. Like accelerated healing, enhanced strength, the ability to absorb kinetic energy from others, a brain that works faster than a supercomputer, and the ability to throw lightning.
Some people were a little shocked at the throwing lightning part. Having never seen Flash use that specific power.
Wiz: To do any of this, Flash draws his power from the Speed Force. An extra dimensional energy source, which, when synced with a living being's bio-electric field, amplifies and distorts their perception and placement in individual time versus time outside their own field.
Boomstick: What?
Wiz: Uh, in layman's terms, it's kinda like the Force in Star Wars, but instead of Jedi tapping into its powers, it's comic book speedsters.
Boomstick: I see...
*Cues: The Flash - Called Some Friends For Help*
Wiz: Think of it as its own dimension, that the Flash can use as a power source, and also enter on his own whim.
"There's one way of looking at the speed force." Barry nodded.
Plus, it's pretty handy for getting the Flash out of jams when an author writes him into a corner.
Boomstick: Sure... Also, while other speedsters like Max Mercury and Wally West use the Speed Force,
Wally and Bart perked up. Bart gasped at the picture of his trainer. Wally was just startled that his name was suddenly called.
Barry is actually the one who generates it! And boy, can he do some ridiculous stuff.
Wiz: When push comes to shove, he can easily break the speed of light, over 670 million miles per hour.
This wasn't really surprising since everyone pretty much knew Barry was way faster than the speed of light.
Boomstick: He once rescued everyone from a collapsing apartment building, then used the public library to learn everything he needed to rebuild the whole place, and then he did it, all before the cops showed up! Oh, and he can run on clouds.
Everyone, even the three kryptonians in the room raised their eyebrows in surprise.
"You can walk on Clouds!" Roy exclaimed, flabbergasted.
Barry nervously rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, well desperate times cause for desperate plans."
"How come you never taught me how to do that, Uncle Barry?" Wally questioned, everyone else listening in.
"Mainly because it's a lot harder than it looks. I barely manage to do it for a few seconds. I didn't think I knew how to do it well enough to pass it on to you.
Wiz: Apparently, he does this by vibrating his feet in such a way that the ice crystals within the clouds are collected underneath him to provide footholds, which is an affront to science!
"Most of the things in our world are an affront to science, yet here we are." Green arrow stated, gesturing around where they were all gathered.
Boomstick: Speed Force, Wiz.
Wiz: Anyway, his brain is fast enough to perceive events in less than an attosecond, he once called the Justice League supercomputer slow, which, by the way, processes at one hundred thousand trillion calculations per second.
Heads shoot to look at Barry, who merely raises a curious eyebrow at them.
"What?"
Hal sputtered. "What? What do you mean, What?"
Barry's expression didn't change.
Jay laid a hand of the current Flash's shoulder, a bright, proud smile on his face. "That's way faster than my mind, son."
Barry nodded and smiled in return. "Yeah."
"Wait, if your brain is that fast, then that means you'd be able to go through every possibility in a fight." Superman stated, causing Bruce's sharp gaze to snap to Barry.
"Yep, that sounds about right."
"You should be able to defeat all of us, maybe even Kara and I. If you tried hard enough."
Barry once again, nodded his agreement.
"But you don't." The question was clear to everyone there.
Why?
"Well, yes I can and do go through any and every possibility. But I never know what my opponent will actually do until it happens. I try not to use it much because it makes me go into relative time. Usually causing me to lose track of time in normal time. Plus, I'm in there enough as it is."
"Relative Time?" Wally asked.
Barry glanced at Jay. "Not really sure when other speedsters run but when I run everything slows down. Before I got my powers my sense of time was off. But now that I have them. It's very hard sometimes to distinguish between what is and what isn't relative time."
"Isn't that really lonely though." Wonder girl questioned, causing Barbara to shoot her a scolding look.
Barry nodded, "Yeah, it definitely can be. And it was. Until I met iris. She helped slow me down. To ground me. You see, speedsters need someone to help keep them from being brought into the speedforce. I prefer to call them Anchors. When you have an Anchor. While you still experience Relative Time. You aren't in any danger of being yanked into the speed force."
Iris leaned into him. Barry responded by peaking her on the cheek. "Iris. Of course isn't my only anchor, my entire family is my anchor."
*Cues: Justice League - Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox*
Boomstick: The Speed Force also absorbs damage like a shield, because at this point, what can't it do? Make waffles? Probably. He was once blown up by enough grenades to send him flying into a tree, breaking it in half.
Barry winced at the memory. Vandal Savage had gotten the jump on him. Luckily, the entire league was there to help as was needed.
Wiz: To snap a tree like that requires at least 70,000 pounds of force.
Some eyebrows were raised in surprise at that. Others wincing once again.
Boomstick: Ouch, but he was up and running around in no time, thanks to Speed Force healing.
Wiz: Right, like the time he got stabbed through the leg, but minutes later, stood up and ran fast enough to outrace a nuclear blast, and break the time barrier, yes, I said "time barrier".
Everyone blinked. What?
"Did he just say a "Time barrier"." Superman asked, turning to Barry. "Barry...Did you time travel?"
Barry and Bruce made eye contact. Barry turned back to him, the others watching the interaction just as curious themselves. "Yes. Yes, and it was probably one of the worst mistakes i've made in my career as the Flash."
Barry somehow looked older just thinking about it. Bruce narrowed his eyes at Clark. Signaling for him to let it go for now.
Wally and Iris were startled. They'd never seen Barry look so utterly defeated before. It unsettled them. Iris tried to comfort him with a hug. Wally wasn't just going to let someone who he'd always thought of as a Father suffer alone so he moved to be next to Barry as well. Wally didn't have to do much to let Barry know he was there. So, Wally just leaned into him. Like he did when he was younger. The older of the two wrapped an arm around him.
Wally remembered thinking that his Uncle Barry's arm was a shield that protected him from anything that even dared to hurt him. He smiled at the reminder. He told himself that he'd do his best to give the same comfort to his favorite uncle.
Bart was confused as well. His grandpa had never shown this emotion since he'd first came here. In Bart's opinion, that expression didn't belong on the Flash's face. Bart just knew that whatever it was. It wouldn't be good. At all.
Little did he know how right he was about that.
Boomstick: Did you ever hear the phrase, "New 52"? Like, where DC rebooted it's whole universe and everyone's backstories? Yeah, Flash...Flash did that. All of it. Batman's dad told him to.
Bruce's eyes softened, remembering the note his father told Barry to give him. Only his robin's seemed to notice the slip of composure. Barry though, winced.
Which didn't go unnoticed by anyone in the room.
Wiz: You'd think time travel would be an awesome skill to have, but not really in Flash's case. While well intentioned, his hot headed time-hopping adventures usually end up making things worse.
Boomstick: Like when he tried to save his mom's life, and ended up ruining the entire universe instead!
Eyebrows were raised. Some were concerned.
"Wait." Cyborg raised his mechanical arm. "So let me see if I got this right."
"You decided that you would travel back in time to save your dead mother because you missed her?"
Barry swallows, not making eye contact with anyone. He had a flashback of the other timeline. When Thwane had made fun of him for that choice as well.
"Did you even stop to think about how that would affect the rest of us! Did you!" He continued, anger raising by the second.
"Victor, that's enough!" Green lantern exclaimed, readying his ring but Cyborg shook his head.
"No! Look, Flash did something so reckless that he managed to change all of our lives! In some cases, he even managed to erase important people from our lives. How are you not absolutely livid about this!" He asked the silent Bruce.
He didn't respond, instead he looked at Barry. Waiting for him to answer.
"Victor. I had no good reason to do this. But trust me when I tell you that I learned my lesson. The hard way." Barry stated, finally making eye contact with him.
Everyone's angry and confused expressions changed to surprise and concern. There were tears falling from Barry's eyes.
"When I went back to save my mother. It destroyed the world. I had to witness many of your deaths. Knowing that I couldn't do anything to stop it. I'm so sorry that I went back. But I just want to be able to see my mom one last time."
Victor looked guilty for accusing the Flash of doing something like this on purpose. He went to apologize but Bruce just shook his head. Victor decided to let Barry gain his composure back before he finished this conversation.
The rest of the flash family watched, concerned, as Barry slowly managed to real in all of the pent up emotions that Flashpoint had left on him.
Professor Zoom: Break the sound barrier and there's a sonic boom. You broke the time barrier, Flash, time boom. Ripples of distortion radiated out through that point of impact, shifting everything just a tiny bit, but enough.
Barry's face hardened at the Thwane on the screen. Others who weren't very familiar with Reverse Flash shivered. The man sounded downright insane. Many were reminded of Joker but with speed force powers. Damn. Now wasn't that a terrifying image.
Wiz: Also, it is possible for others to disrupt Flash's connection to the Speed Force, making him lose his abilities.
Shows a version of their version of Barry running but then soon after crashing down to the ground.
"Wait, did that happen in the other timeline?" Green lantern asked, gesturing at the screen. "You lose your powers?"
Barry nodded. "In that timeline, My mother never died. But I later found out that my dad had died from a heart attack three years prior to me arriving." Barry looked to be in pain as he slowly told the story. Iris squeezed his hand that was intertwined with hers. Barry squeezed her hand back. "Since I stopped my mother's death, I never stayed at the lab long enough to cause the accident that created the Flash. So there wasn't a hero named Flash in that timeline."
"So, How did you have your powers in that scene, Son." Jay questioned, still confused.
Barry's expression turned stoney. "I had to recreate the accident."
This caused people to shout in concern and surprise. Jay, Wally, Bart and Iris jolted at the answer. That wasn't like Barry at all.
Bruce looked concerned and angry. "Barry, you had no idea if that would work. You could have died and then there wouldn't have been a way for the timeline to change back!"
"I had to try, Bruce." Barry exclaimed, turning to him. "Your dad seemed to believe it was their only hope. If you had been there then I'm sure you'd want me to do the same. He wanted you to live so he was the one to help me get the supplies that I needed for the experiment."
The rest of the Bat Family looked confused. Having no idea what the two were going on about. The Flash family looked just as confused.
"Did it work on the first try, Barry?" Barry didn't reply. So, Bruce continued on. "You probably had third degree burns all over your body, didn't you?"
"I don't know why it didn't work the first time, Bruce. But it doesn't matter because it worked the second time!"
"Why do you even care, Bruce! You've never shown concern for me before so why now?"
Everyone agreed that Bruce didn't get concerned over the safety of any of the league members very often if not at all. So, they listened.
"Believe it or not, Flash." That wasn't Bruce's voice but Batman's instead. "I do care about my team as much as I care about my Robins."
"Plus, Ghosty has a good reason to be concerned. I mean, Bar, I'm your best friend. And I'm not going to say that you're never reckless but that, that's just not like you." Lantern stated, completely serious.
"I didn't make the best decisions during that time, I'll admit. But I was very desperate to get home."
Before they could go on, Gideon interrupted. "There will be an opinion to watch the Flashpoint event later on, if that is necessary.
Barry glanced at everyone looking slightly frightened. "Sure, Gideon. I'm sure we'll get around to watching that eventually."
"Of course, Flash." She then began the episode again.
Boomstick: But with fast healing, time travel, extra-dimensional power, he's done a lot for a guy who can run really fast.
Barry Allen uses his ring to change into the Flash.

*Cues: Marvel vs Capcom 3 - Theme of Magneto*
Boomstick: An amazing man once said, "To achieve great things, one must sacrifice stability and push one's limit past sanity." And few people embody those words better than Quicksilver.
"That's a nice quote. Wonder who said it?" Superman stated.
Roy smiled and laughed, "Yeah, because there's no way in hell that Boomstick came up with that. It's way too wise."
Wiz: Wait, who said that quote?
Boomstick: I did, last week, when I got my sweet new dune buggy and jumped that lake!
Wiz: No, you just said "hold my beer", and drove it straight into the water.
Roy smirked. Not surprised that he hadn't been wrong.
Boomstick: Wiz, come on, stay on topic, Quicksilver goes fast!
Wiz: Uh... Yeah, that's true, and I guess your fake quote kind of applies, because Quicksilver's life has been anything but stable. I mean, his origin story is absolutely insanely convoluted. I guess that's what happens when competing movie studios both inadvertently own the rights to the same character.
Boomstick: Yeah, don't worry, I got it. Basically, Quicksilver and his twin sister the Scarlet Witchwere born Pietro and Wanda to a pair of gypsies named Django and Marya Maximoff. But as babies, they were kidnapped by a guy they call the High Evolutionary. He experimented on the two children, and then returned them to their parents, only now they had super cool powers! But Pietro and Wanda were later tricked into believing that they were the mutant children of Magneto, abandoned by their mother and handed off to gypsies by a cow lady midwife.
Everyone was confused and shocked. And they thought their stories were hard to keep up with.
Wiz: What the hell!?
Boomstick: Y'know, it doesn't even matter. They're the kids of gypsies, and they have super cool powers.
Dick smiles at the fact that there are other gypsie heroes. Even if they are in another universe.
Wiz: Well, with all the instability in his personal life, it's no wonder Pietro Maximoff has been known to bounce from alliance to alliance, like when Magneto saved him from an angry mob, he joined the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, where Magneto gave him his sleek costume, and his new name: Quicksilver.
*Cues: Avengers: Age of Ultron - Main Theme*
Boomstick: But, when Magneto got his ass kicked, Quicksilver joined the Avengers, because what's loyalty when you can't even keep track of who your dad is? I wish I at least knew WHERE my dad was, though.
Bart's expression changed. Wally noticed. Concerned, he put a hand on the kid's shoulder. "You okay, Bart?"
"Yeah, umm. Just a little homesick. I guess."
Wally's expression softened. "Look, Bart. I think we got off on the wrong foot. You honestly can't blame me if i was a little jealous of the amount of time Barry spent with you. But even if it's understandable. I'm sorry. I do hope that we can become closer. If that's what you'd want?"
Bart looked ecstatic. "Are you serious? I'd LOVE that!" He started to slip into speed speaking. Talking so fast that only another speedster could understand it.
Barry had been listening the entire time. He gently laid his own hand on the kid's other shoulder. "Breathe. Bart. Remember what I taught you. Slow down."
Bart took a deep breath, trying to calm down. After a minute of taking slow and deep breaths it seemed to work. Though he still had a large smile on his face. He leaned into Wally's side. Wally looked surprised and glanced at Jay, Barry and Iris.
Jay and Iris just smiled at the cute scene. Barry just gave them this fond look that only a proud Father could show. Or Grandfather really. Looking back at Bart. He looked at Artemus and they both smiled at each other.
Wiz: Probably as far away as possible... ahem, well, one benefit in all this hopping back and forth across the line in the sand, is that Quicksilver's had training and experience from both sides of the spectrum, from the likes of Captain America to Mastermind.
Boomstick: But really, when you're fast enough to disappear in the blink of an eye, who wouldn't want you on their team? After all, Quicksilver is all about speed. He can heal fast, think fast, learn fast, and of course, run around really freaking fast.
Wiz: He can run around an opponent so fast, he forms a tornado, sucking away the oxygen and suffocating them.
Bruce narrowed his eyes and turned to the Flash Family. Barry knew what he was going to say. "We're not going to try that, Bruce. I promise. We don't kill. You know that."
Bruce slowly nodded. But Barry knew he was coming up with a new contingency plan if they ever went bad.
Boomstick: He can easily run on water, and maintain speeds of more than 700 miles per hour, for extremely long periods of time. And if things are looking serious, he can crank it up even further, and become fast enough to outrun a radio wave.
Wiz: Radio waves are a kind of electromagnetic radiation, and thus, travel the same speed as light. Meaning, Quicksilver can run well over 670 million miles per hour.
Boomstick: Much like Wiz seeing himself in the mirror every morning, Quicksilver has survived some pretty terrifying things.
Wiz: Yeah- hey! He has taken a hit from some of Marvel's strongest heroes, including Hercules, the god of strength himself.
Some eyebrows were raised in surprise at this.
Boomstick: He doesn't even flinch at the destructive shockwaves made by his own speed, and one time, he ran up a mountain so fast, he accidentally launched himself into an airplane, and fell 39,000 feet down into the ocean. And survived! Man, that's crazy to think about.
*Cues: X-Men: Days of Future Past - Welcome Back*
Wiz: Speaking of thinking, his brain can process and retain information so quickly, that he memorized Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" by ear, and could play it himself, in just about a minute. A feat which takes an average person YEARS to perfect!
Bart snorted. "In my time, Barry and Wally made a bet to learn to play the hardest songs on every instrument in one day and Wally always said that Barry managed to do it in a millisecond."
Barry and Wally looked at each other, planning on trying that eventually.
Boomstick: Despite having a taste for calming and refined music, he's incredibly impatient, and has been known to lash out in anger and annoyance.
Wiz: Why does that sound familiar?
Boomstick: You shut your mouth before I shut it for you!
Wiz: I rest my case... Quicksilver also has a tendency to run headfirst into danger without thinking things through.
Bruce took note of that hot-headed-ness is a major weakness.
Boomstick: Rest your case? I'll rest your case!
Wiz: Alright, just don't trip on that-
Boomstick trips on something and falls hard.
Boomstick: *Groaning* I hurt my balls... just finish the rundown!
Wiz: *Chuckles* Well, despite his brashness, Quicksilver is a tragedy hardened speed-freak, who I wouldn't cross for even a second.
Quicksilver sees a creature.
Quicksilver: Oh, I get it, you're supposed to stop me. Well go ahead, try it.
The creature swipes at him, he dodges and zips around it, punching multiple times but it falls.
Quicksilver: Next time, try a little harder.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Everyone prepared for the Death Battle. Most were betting on Barry but others voted for Quicksilver.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Somewhere in New York City, civilians watch in rapt attention at the scene of a burning building.
*Cues: Avengers: Age of Ultron - The Mission*
A cop car arrives, running a civilian down in the process, and Captain America steps out.
"Wonder who that is?" Dick questioned, everyone else nodding in agreement.
A young girl is high up on the building, struggling to breathe.
Captain America: Please stay calm, miss! I'm coming up there!
The girl loses her footing and falls.
Most jumped. Not expecting for her to fall so quickly.
Captain America: No!
As she falls, time slows down and eventually stops.
*Cues: The Flash - Fastest Man Alive*
The Flash and Quicksilver arrive on the scene at the same time, both ready to be the hero.
Both: I got her!
Quicksilver: Wait, who the hell are you? You trying to steal my spotlight?
Flash: Uh, seriously? Have you been living under a rock? I'm the Flash. All star hero? Fastest man alive?
Quicksilver: Fastest? Bullshit, that's me. Let's race to Japan!
Flash looks up, and to him, the girl is falling incredibly slowly.
Flash: Well, what the heck? I've got time.
"Is that how you see everything when you're running?" Green Arrow asked, eyebrows raised in awe.
"Yep, everything slows down. And I mean everything."
Quicksilver: Ok, on the count of three. Three!
*Cues: The Flash - Catch Me if You Can*
Quicksilver cheats and runs off ahead of Flash.
Flash: Hey!
Barry runs as he soon catches up to Pietro and runs alongside him.
Flash: Hey hey hey! Cheap trick pal!
Quicksilver: I got another one for you!
Quicksilver punches Flash, knocking him off course.
Barry winced. Imagining the punch way too well.
Everyone else looked shocked at the other speedsters tactics.
Flash: So that's how we're gonna do this, huh?
He catches up with Quicksilver and runs alongside him again.
FIGHT!
*Cues: Marvel vs Capcom 3 - Theme of Super Skrull*
Barry and Pietro race across NYC and up a building. They jump off and trade blows in midair until Quicksilver catches one of Flash's punches as he shifts behind the Scarlet Speedster and kicks him away.
Everyone winced once again. "Come on, Bar. I know you can do better than that! Plus, I'm not losing money so you better win." Green lantern exclaimed, at the screen. Barry, who was sitting beside him, punched him in the arm.
"You bet on me?"
Quicksilver: Catch ya later!
Quicksilver lands in Central Park and keeps running for Japan.
Quicksilver: Hmph, what a loser!
The Flash suddenly appears amid some trees, then hops back into the race.
Flash: Hey man! Did you miss me?
There were some cheers in the crowd of heroes watching.
The two race across the United States, eventually ending up on a California beach. Quicksilver takes the initiative and gives Flash a Polish hammer, flooring him.
Quicksilver: Too slow!
The combination of the voice and the words caused a flashback for Barry. Not a good one mind you. Barry started to remember the Reverse Flash saying that same thing to him so many times over the years. Along with all of the enemies that underestimated him.
Pietro then starts running around Barry, causing a whirlwind that sucks him up, then pummels the helpless Flash in midair.
*Cues: Joker's Gang Fight - Justice League: Unlimited*)/( SA version: *Cues: Captain America Civil War - Cap's Promise*
Quicksilver: How's it feel to lose, chump?
Flash dodges his last attack.
Heroes laughed and Cheered in excitement at the change in the fight.
Flash: Let's turn this around!
Flash spins in the opposite direction, reversing (and reddening) the whirlwind so that it overtakes Quicksilver.
Quicksilver: Agh! What?
Most of the younger heroes were looking at the screen in awe. The older heroes weren't as shocked. Flash could be pretty scary when pissed off.
Flash knocks his foe out of the cyclone. With both heroes airborne, Flash notices an incoming flock of birds.
Flash: Aw crap...
Barry spins his arms to create a vortex and blow Pietro into the flock...
Quicksilver: Ahh! God damn it!
There were some joyful laughs that sounded out from the younger heroes.
...and then uses the birds as a platform to dropkick the erstwhile mutant into the water. Flash races on the water, and Quicksilver recovers and catches up.
Quicksilver: All right Flash, so you're fast! But I'm stronger and smarter!
Flash: Prove it, tough guy!
They briefly trade blows again.
Flash: Ok, this is getting dumb.
Barry speeds ahead...
Quicksilver: ...Flash?
...and the scene changes to a white void, frozen in time.
Everyone looked very confused. Barry tilted his head, a knowing smirk on his face. He knew the speedforce when he saw it.
Quicksilver: The hell? What's going on?
*Cues: The Flash - I Have To Try*
Flash: You're in the Speed Force. MY Speed Force. I'm sure you feel it, the raw energy coursing all around you. This is the source of my power. And here, I AM KING!
The Flash, now supercharged, clobbers Quicksilver at super speed. He then charges up a lightning bolt and tosses it at his opponent, knocking him out of the Speed Force and back into the real world.
Roy whistled, "Damn, Flasher! You were beating this up hard."
Barry chuckled, "Well, this is just what could happen. I'd also like to think that it takes a lot for me to get angry enough to do something like this.
"Yeah, I mean I've only seen him get that mad when someone decides it's a good idea to threaten his family." Wally added, "You'd be shocked at how many of the villains do that."
"I'm sure they can imagine." Barry stated, glancing at some of them specifically.
Quicksilver flies for miles, screaming all the way, until he is impaled on a sword-wielding statue in Japan. Flash arrives and surveys the corpse.
Flash: Eww... Well, at least you beat me here! Bye!
He runs off.
Everyone just stared at the screen in astonishment.
"Okay, first of all. I wouldn't shake off the fact that i'd just killed someone that easily. Second of all, you can't just throw someone out of the speedforce like that i'd have to bring them out myself. And third of all? How Dare They use my lame jokes for this situation! That's an insult of itself." Barry ranted, causing everyone to chuckle slightly and somehow managing to get rid of some of the tension in the room.
KO!
Flash runs back to New York to rescue the girl while Quicksilver's corpse is visited by a solemn Magneto.
"Well, at least they didn't forget to do what was supposed to have happened before the whole who's the best thing." Oliver commented, getting some nods of agreement from the people around him.

Boomstick: Flash Fact, sharp things hurt.
"I think he's making fun of your Flash Facts." Green Lantern whispered, making Barry shove him away.
"I created those for the kids in Central. If they're going to be fans of me, why not teach them something at the same time."
Clark's eyebrows went up in surprise. "That's really cool, Barry. Wish I'd thought of doing something like that."
Wiz: As fast as Quicksilver is, the Flash is just... MUCH, MUCH faster.
"You're damn right, he is!" Wally stated, "One of the best that's for sure."
Boomstick: Quicksilver clearing the speed of light is great and all, but the Flash has gone ten times that.
Wiz: Which would put him at more than 6 billion miles per hour!
There were whistles of astonishment heard around the room.
Boomstick: Plus, Barry can pull people into the Speed Force and fight them there, giving him a home field advantage.
"That's something I didn't know a speedster could do." Jay spoke up, "And I've been doing this a long time."
Wiz: In addition, the Flash's brain can process events in less than an attosecond, and in case you're wondering, 12 attoseconds is the shortest amount of time humanity has ever been able to measure. This means that while Quicksilver's Beethoven feat proved he could think over 500 thousand times faster than an ordinary person, the Flash can think many trillion times faster. He had plenty of time to predict every perceivable action Quicksilver may have taken.
"That's something that baffles me." Cyborg commented, "I mean gosh, Flash. That's even faster than my processors and they're the most advanced tech that's ever been made."
Boomstick: Quicksilver had the upper hand in formal combat training, but when you're fighting someone who can move, think, and act WAY faster than you, there's not really much you can do. You could say this battle was over... in a Flash!
There were groans from the audience heard the stupid pun. Meanwhile, Barry was smiling like an idiot. That was a commonly used joke for him and he loved it!
Wiz: ...The winner is The Flash.

After everything ended, Green lantern jumped up, "ah-ha! I won! Hand over the goods." He was holding out his hand to Oliver who sighed.
Barry gaped, "Ollie, you didn't think i'd beat him?"
Oliver rubbed the back of his neck. "I mean it didn't look promising to start off, so yeah. I didn't think you'd pull through."
Oliver handed over the money to Lantern, "That's probably because you don't know him as well as i do. If you had i'm sure you'd be the one supporting him." Green lantern replied.
Gideon appeared once more. "As stated before, there will be the option to watch the flashpoint event. There is another option where you can watch the adventures of my version of Barry Allen. And other versions as well."
Everyone looked at each other. Barry turned to the computer, "Thanks Gideon we might take those offers eventually. But for now, let's finish what we started."
"Yes, of course. Flash."
End of Chapter.
