In the Gryffindor Dormitory
Hermione shifted on the bed as the rays of sunlight directly fell on her face. Her face was bright golden from the light. She slowly opened her eyes to find that it was morning already. She hadn't slept at night…heck she didn't sleep at any night since the war because of the nightmares that followed her. She always thought whether anyone else had those nightmares too. She rubbed her eyes and went to take a shower.
After the shower, she went to the common room where she found her friends. They all wished each other a very good morning and then decided to head towards their respective classes.
In the Slytherin Dormitory
Theo came out of his room stretching his hands. He looked around to found no one except him in the common room. His gaze went to the book lying on the table and he reached out for it. It was some book about Potions. After seeing the title of the book, he made a disgusted face and threw the book. He went to the small window to have a look outside and he got the glimpse of the Giant Squid in the water before it just vanished.
He could see a few rays of light making its way in the dungeon through the window. The dungeons were never lighted with sunlight as it was located at the most bottom part of the castle. He really liked sunlight and it was a pity that he couldn't experience it everyday when he woke up unlike the Gryffindors whose dorm received the most sunlight. He was pretty jealous of them.
His thoughts were interrupted when he heard the sound of a door being unlocked. He turned around to see Pansy coming out of Draco's room, rubbing her eyes. Theo wasn't at all shocked to see Pansy coming out of Draco's room instead of hers. It was pretty obvious that they were doing some 'extra circular activity' last night.
"Morning, Parkinson" Theo greeted her with a cocky smile.
"Shut up, will you? You know that I don't like mornings" Pansy hushed him and sat down at the couch.
"That's the reason I'm teasing you in the first place" Theo grinned.
Pansy gave him a deadly glare to which Theo responded by a laugh.
"Ok fine I won't irritate you" He put his hands up. "So, how was last night?"
"It was amazing" Pansy squealed in amazement. It didn't even look like she was pissed just a second ago. "I really love such nights. You know me and Draco -"
"Eww…too much information, Pansy. Keep that to yourself." Theo made a face to give a gesture of puking. "I don't want the picture of that in my mind. Gosh, I want to throw up"
"Quit being such a git. You asked for it yourself" Pansy waved a hand in front of his face to shush him.
Theo opened his mouth to say something but stopped as he heard someone else joining them. Both the Slytherins turned around to find Draco coming out of his room, running a hand through his hair.
"Draco" Pansy addressed him with gleaming eyes.
He didn't bother to respond. He simply joined them on the couch. They all started talking about the homework Professor Slughorn had given them and initially all the Slytherins started coming out of their respective rooms.
Blaise was the last one to come out. He joined them, along with everyone, still yawning.
"About time you came" Theo said sarcastically.
"Don't be mean. I was tired" Blaise rolled his eyes to which Theo scoffed in response.
"I can't believe we have to attend classes today" Pansy groaned annoyingly.
"What's new in that? We have to attend classes everyday" Blaise simply shrugged.
"That's the problem. Today is no every day. Today is not any ordinary day in fact. Today is the day of the Traditional Slytherin Party. We shouldn't attend classes today and least of all do those blasted assignments instead we should be busy picking out our outfits." Pansy reasoned.
"Quit being a drama queen, Pansy" Draco scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Ok moving on, which classes do we exactly have today?" Theo asked to the group.
"First Defense Against Dark Arts followed by Charms and Potions" Blaise informed him recalling the schedule.
"Oh fuck. We have to attend the first period with those Gryffindors. Agh!" Pansy put his head against her hands in frustration.
"Well we can't actually do anything, can we?" Draco asked her getting up.
Everyone eventually started getting up in order to go to their respective classes. All of the Slytherins took their books and headed for their classrooms. They were all walking when Draco noticed something at the wall and all of them stopped midway.
Something was written in red on the wall. It didn't take much time to figure out what was written. 'Death Eaters go away'. These were the words in front of them.
Each of the Slytherin flinched at the words and they clenched their teeth at the thought of someone doing it. It was pretty obvious that some student has done that unintentionally.
"Come on, let's move." Someone shouted from the back. Everyone eyed the words for the last time before walking away.
No one spoke another word on that topic. After the war, this mocking and taunting became usual. They were being mocked since the war ended. Sometimes they thought that they deserved it, sometimes the threats became intense. Some people had even tried killing them. They took part in the war on the other side but they didn't ask for this.
They were just trying to overcome the recent incident that Pansy bumped into someone.
"Oww" She rubbed her elbow. "Watch where you are going moron!"
"Better watch your stupid excuse of a mouth, Parkinson" The boy spat and pushed Pansy hard enough.
She was going to crash into the wall when Blaise caught her.
"Pansy" Blaise exclaimed in worry catching her by the waist.
"What do you think are you doing git?" Theo spat back.
Adrian Pucey smirked and moved forward. "Giving you what you deserve"
Draco moved forward to stand just in front of him. "I think we should give you too something in return?"
"Try me" He said with malice in his voice.
Draco lunged forward at him and Adrian didn't even waste any time so he went for Draco's jaw. The fist fight converted into an intense war which included blood.
"Do something, Theo" Pansy said in a worried voice.
"Alright you two, that's it! You both stop right this instance." Theo ordered but both of them ignored him.
Both of them were still beating the shit out of each other when a voice was heard from the opposite direction. All the eyes of the Slytherins went to the source of the voice but the two boys were still oblivious to her. They were amused to see the Head Girl marching towards them.
"What in Godric's name is happening here?" Hermione shouted still on the way to reach them.
This time both the Slytherins looked up.
"That's none of your fucking business, Granger" Adrian stated with disgust.
"Bunch of bollocks. I'm the Head Girl so it obviously is my fucking business" Hermione replied with her Gryffindor pride. "You two. Get away from each other. And thirty points will be taken from Slytherin House for both of your behaviors.
"You can't do that!" Draco was furious from her actions.
"Believe me, Malfoy. You don't even have a single clue of what I can do" Hermione replied with the same tone.
"He started this first by pushing Pansy" Draco didn't even know why he was justifying himself to her.
Everyone was eyeing the conversation very carefully. Theo was impressed by Hermione's confidence.
"And may I ask why?" Hermione asked turning her head towards Adrian.
"They are death eater scum. They deserve it and you know that too, Granger" Pucey replied with a laugh.
"And who are you? The dictator? You don't have any right to perform such actions! You hear me out, Pucey." Hermione said looking him in the eye. "This year, Professor Snape is not here to protect you so I can easily put you in detention if you do this type of stupidity again"
Many Slytherins gave a laugh at how Adrian Pucey was being lectured by Hermione which made Adrian embarrass and furious at the same time. He turned a shade of red.
"You'll pay for that, mudblood" He eyed her and stormed away.
Hermione stared at him for a couple of seconds before turning around.
"Now I think the drama's over, we all can go back to normal" Hermione said to everyone and surprisingly no one commented anything. Instead they all started walking towards their classes.
"Nott, I need to talk to you." Hermione said. "Now"
Everyone eyed Theo like he had just transfigured into an animal.
"You all go ahead." Theo nodded at his friends. "I'll be joining you in a minute"
Everyone looked at him for the last time before resuming their walk.
"To what do I owe the pleasure, Granger?" Theo spoke as he walked up to Hermione.
"Why didn't you do something about that?" Hermione asked ignoring his comment.
"I tried to stop them but they didn't hear me. So what else did you expect me to do?" Theo reasoned.
"You could have tried taking the points" Hermione suggested.
"You wanted me to take points from my own house? They would have labelled me as a traitor" Theo justified.
"Agh..You people are ridiculous!" Hermione was in shock after listening his reply.
"I'm done with you" Hermione said shaking her head. She turned back to walk away but stopped and turned her head when she heard his voice.
Something happened in Theo's mind as it didn't want her to leave furiously. He didn't want to upset her.
"Ok, Granger. Wait. I'll try my best the next time" Theo assured her. He mentally slapped himself for sounding like a desperate child. "I swear"
Hermione gave a short nod and started her march towards the class.
Theo stood confused thinking why he had just said that. Why didn't he want to disappoint her? He shook the thoughts away and headed towards the class himself.
