ALL ITALICS ARE LATIN. EVERYTHING UNDERLINED IS GREEK.
HERMIONE'S P.O.V
The next day we went to Diagon Alley. Before leaving, I pulled Harry and Ron aside and told them about yesterday. They believed me, but Harry wasn't extremely convinced.
"They can't possibly be a threat to us. That's probably some sort of magic native to Greece or something." Harry said.
"Then why don't they do it in front of us?" I reasoned.
"Look, I don't know what to do about this, but we certainly can't tell the adults. They'll hold a meeting without us. But if you want, we can read a couple of books in the library to try and figure it out." Harry said.
"Fine, but this conversation isn't over." I said before walking away.
-TIMESKIP TO DIAGON ALLEY-
When we reached Diagon Alley, the royals looked almost impressed. Almost.
"First impressions?" Harry asked.
"It's great, but both camps are better." Piper said.
"If both camps are greater than Diagon alley, I want to see either one." Ron said.
"Anyways, let's go shopping." Percy said.
PERCY'S P.O.V
Diagon Alley was great. Sure, it couldn't compare to the camps, and couldn't even begin to compare to Olympus, but it was still great.
We first went to Gringotts Wizarding Bank (seriously, what's with the names?!). As soon as we entered, there was a message engraved on the doors. I made out something like
Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn,
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there.
Piper shuddered. "Talk about an eerie, mysterious warning."
I agreed with her. Anyways, we went inside. The whole place was run by goblins. A goblin saw us and said something to the others. All the goblins bowed.
Nico and Hazel bowed to the goblins. One goblin came up to us and asked, "You lot are half-bloods, yes?" When we nodded, he said, "My name is Griphook. I will be taking you to the Olympia Family's vault. As for the Weasleys, Mr. Potter, and Ms. Granger, Bogrod will take them to their vaults." He then continued in Latin, "All of us goblins know about the gods, and are honored to meet you. We referred to your family as The Olympia Family because of the wizards." He now switched back to English, "Shall we go now, Lords and Ladies?"
We followed Griphook inside, where he led us to a cart that looked like it would fall and crumble in a second. It was on a truck that would become ashes if someone put a finger on it.
Leo saw the cart and said, "How do you think this will hold the weight of even a baby? You need to reinforce it with more metal to make it safe! If you want, I'll reinforce it now."
"Thank you very much for offering, son of Hephaestus, but we don't need it. This is held together by magic, and will never crumble or break."
We went in pairs; first Jason and Thalia, then Nico and Hazel, Annabeth and I, Piper and Leo, Frank and Clarisse, Will and Reyna, Connor and Lou, and Travis and Katie.
When we reached the vault, both of us were a little green. That broken cart can go at speeds that will make anyone nauseous. Anyways, the door of the vault had 14 circles, each having an emblem in the middle. There was also a big circle surrounding them.
Annabeth examined the door and found an inscription. "Look," she said, gesturing to the inscription, "Read that."
I read it. It was written in both Latin and Greek, so I read the Greek version. It said:
CHILD OF A MAJOR GOD/GODDESS, PRESS YOUR PARENT'S SYMBOL.
CHILD OF A MINOR GOD/GODDESS, PRESS THE BIG CIRCLE.
"Should we give it a go?" Annabeth asked.
"Ladies first, ma'am." I said.
She sighed and put her finger on the circle with an owl. Something red trickled down the owl and the door opened, revealing a vault filled with books, money, and weapons. There was another inscription saying:
HELLO, MY CHILD. YOU HAVE MADE IT TO WIZARDING BRITAIN. AS OF NOW, I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU ARE HERE, BUT I WISH YOU LUCK ON YOUR QUEST.
~ATHENA
She smiled when she read her mom's message. I would've too, but I was thinking about something else.
"Wise girl, show me your hand." I said.
She showed me her hand. There was a small prick on the finger she placed on the owl, big enough to draw blood. The prick was fading, and within 5 seconds it faded completely.
"Why was there a prick? I don't understand." I said.
"It probably drew blood for identification. After I was identified, it didn't require more blood so the wound closed itself with magic." Annabeth explained.
She went inside and took a couple of books in Ancient Greek, and some money before looking for a dagger, like her old one. She found one which looked exactly like it.
"Is it perfectly balanced?" I asked her. She nodded.
She came out and closed the door of the vault. I went forward and put my finger on the trident. It didn't pain at all. The door opened and revealed a vault filled with weapons and money. It smelled like the ocean. There was an inscription saying:
HELLO MY CHILD. I HOPE YOU'RE DOING WELL. YOU MUST BE ON A QUEST, SO GOOD LUCK.
~YOUR DAD POSEIDON (OR NEPTUNE, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'RE GREEK OR ROMAN.)
I smiled before grabbing some money and heading out. We then sat in the creaky cart and left. Annabeth touched the dagger's point to her magical bracelet and attached it as a charm. We then met up with everyone else and Piper and Leo went next.
-YOUR TRUSTY FRIEND TIMESKIP IS HERE TO SAVE THE AUTHOR FROM BOREDOM!-
Once we had all visited the vault, we met up with the wizards, who were very impatient. When they saw us they all exclaimed, "Finally!"
"What took you so long?! You were in there for an hour and a half; we were starting to get worried!" Molly exclaimed.
"We're fine Mrs. Weasley; it just took a long time because the cart leading to our vault could only fit two people, so we went in turns." Thalia and Reyna said together and then looked at each other, startled.
"Well, how 'bout we go to Flourish and Blotts, we can get our school books there." Hermione suggested.
"Sure." We said.
So we walked and talked until we reached Flourish and Blotts
Flourish and Blotts was like the most ultimate bookstore that can make even an ADHD kid excited. Annabeth obviously loved it. We all went in different directions to cover all the sections of the vast bookstore.
Hermione was following me closely and watched every single thing I did, which was unsettling. When I reached for a book on the top shelf, the sleeves of my robes slid down, revealing a bit of my SPQR tattoo. Hermione stifled a gasp at seeing that tiny bit, and hurriedly called Harry and Ron. By the time they reached, I slid my sleeves down and quickly walked away from the Trio. They looked extremely suspicious for no reason.
I started running towards Jason, who was in the middle of the store. When I was around 5 yards away from him, Harry was in front of me, while Ron and Hermione were behind.
"Stop right there, you Death Eater!" they shrieked in perfect sync. Everyone else was coming towards us to see what all the commotion was about.
"How am I a Death Eater?" I asked, confused.
"You have the Dark Mark! Face it, you're a Death Eater!" they exclaimed. By now, all the demigods had come.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I said nonchalantly.
"Show us your left forearm then." They said, obviously not believing me.
I hesitated, before sighing and showing them my SPQR tattoo. Their eyes widened, not expecting that.
"What does SPQR stand for?" Hermione asked.
I glanced at Jason, who met my gaze, and put a finger on his lips before tapping his forearm. He was trying to tell me not to tell.
'Okay Percy,' I thought, 'Come up with an excuse quickly.' Then I remembered what I told Magnus when I met him.
"It stands for 'Sono Pazzi Quelli Romani'." I said, successfully hiding my smirk.
"What does that mean?" they asked.
"It means 'Those Romans Are Crazy'." I translated.
I looked around the place and saw that everyone had formed a ring around us. I could see the Greeks trying not to laugh, while the Romans were shooting murderous glares my way.
"Now can I go? I'm getting bored." I said
"S-sure, y-you can g-go." They stuttered, slightly embarrassed that they accused an innocent person.
Once we finished shopping for books, we went outside to explore. We went to Eeylops Owl Emporium, where I bought a blue owl, and apparently, Athena changed her mind about me because none of the owls attacked me. Thalia bought a beautiful silver owl, and Jason got a snowy owl. I named my owl Sea, Thalia named her owl Arrow, and Jason named his Blizzard.
We then went to the Magical Menagerie, where Hazel and Nico bought a black cat. They named him Obsidian. Annabeth got a ginger cat, naming her Olive. Piper got a beautiful Siamese cat and named her Charm.
Once we were done, we met up with the wizards at Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour, before heading back to Grimmauld Place.
