Chapter 6: First Day

I stood in the at the open door waiting for Midoriya to finish putting on his shoes while Inko-san fretted behind us to make sure we didn't forget anyhting.

"Do you have you tissues?"

"Yes Mom/Inko-san" we both answered at the same time.

"And what about your hankerchiefs? Your hankies?"

"We have them!" Midoriya sharply answered before standing up and slinging his rucksack over his shoulders "We don't have time, we're gonna end up late if we stay here any longer!"

"Boys!" she calls to us again as we're just open the door and step outside, we both turn around and address her at the same time.

"What?/Yes Inko-san?" She looks at us for a few moments before making a smile full of pride aimed at us. Again I'm reminded of how little this means to me despite all the woman had done to support me.

"You're both so cool."

Midoriya's face shifts and he smiles affectionately at his mother while I give the woman another of my itchy smiles and a nod as Midoriya calls back to her as we leave.

"We're off!"

"Kotomine-kun…" Inko-san calls out to me and I turn back to her with a raised eyebrow and a look and confusion "I want you to know that I'm proud of you too and please, take care of Izuku at school."

"No need to concern yourself Inko-san" I wave her off and try and ignore the hollow feeling in my gut forming in response to her show of affection towards me "I will ensure Midoriya realises his dream." She smiles in response and her eyes begin to water.

It seems crying is genetic in this family.

The halls of U.A. were larger than I expected, with both Midoriya and myself jogging through them searching for our classroom, Midoriya kept repeating "1-A" to himself as we scanned the signs above each of the doors until we eventually arrived at our destination.

It was only when we found it that we both noticed just how big the door actually was, standing at least 20ft, Midoriya hypothesised that it was for accessibility and I found myself agreeing that such a thing was at least a possibility given some of the mutations that I had witnessed.

I glanced over to Midoriya, still in a nervous state, when he let out an awkward chuckle "I hope we're not in the same class as the scary people from the exam." I gave him a slight pat on the back as he turned to face me.

"I'm certain we'll be fine Midoriya although wasting time out here won't change our classmates."

He nods to me and opens the door.

"Don't put your feet on the desks!"

"Huh!?"

Immediately we're both greeted to the sight of the tall blue haired boy from the exam getting into an argument with Bakugo over he rather carefree seating position.

"Don't you think that putting your feet up like that is rude to both the upperclassmen and the people who made those desks?"

"I don't! What junior highschool did you go to you extra?"

I cast a sideways glance at Midoriya, who is promptly going through a miniature crisis at the thought of being in the same class as both Bakugo and the blue haired boy who called him out during the pre-exam presentation.

"I attended Somei Private Academy. I'm Iida Tenya." He says with a proud smile on his face and I mentally pat myself on the back that I guessed his background correctly.

"Somei? So your some damn elite then are you?" Bakugo's face forms into a vicious sneer directed at the newly named Iida "Looks like I'll have fun crushing you!"

Iida's face morphs into one of horror "Crushing? You're terrible! Are you truly aiming to become a hero?"

Bakugo clicks his tongue before catching a glance of myself and Midoriya stood in the doorway. He makes eye contact with me and scowls while I simply smirk in response, he narrows his eyes before huffing and turning away.

Iida looks to where Bakugo was staring just a moment ago and turns to us as well, his eyes land on Midoriya and I see a hint of recognition "You're…"

This causes the rest of the class to turn to us and I shift my gaze over to them and Midoriya begins to wilt at being the centre of attention.

"Hey Kotomine!" I look over to who called out to me and immediately recognise Kirishima who stands up to wave at me.

"Good morning Kirishima-san" I nod to him while replying.

It seems my name garners some recognition as others in the classroom shift their focus over to me.

"Kotomine? The guy who score 91 points in the exam?"

"Wasn't he the top scorer in the Exam?"

"He's taller than I expected."

I walk over to Kirishima while Iida marches over to Midoriya and extents his greeting.

"I suppose I must congratulate you on getting third place in the Exam Kirishima-san." He laughs at me and pats me on the shoulder.

"Yeah, I saw you get first place but given how manly your performance was during the exam I would be surprised if you hadn't landed in the top ten." He suddenly puts his fist in his palm and makes a face of realisation "Oh yeah Jiro-san is also in our class as well" he points over to the purple haired girl sat near the front of the classroom who meets my gaze and waves at me.

"Hey Kotomine-san" I notice Ojiro sitting at the front of the classroom as he stands up and walks over to me "I was expecting you to do well in the exam but the least you could have done is leave some points for the rest of us."

I raise my eyebrow at him and shrug my shoulders which causes him to sigh in exasperation "Still not much of a conversationalist are you? I assume you saw Kendo-senpai got sixth place" at my nod he continues "Honestly it feels like I got my work cut out for me but you both shouldn't get too comfortable." his face forms into a provoking smile "I'll make sure to work extra hard to catch up with you!"

"So manly!" Kirishima shouts which causes both of us to turn to him "Nice to meet you bro! I'm Kirishima Eijiro!" he extents a hand which Ojiro promptly shakes as he replies in kind "Ojiro Mashirao, nice to meet you too. I assume you met Kotomine during the exam?"

"Hah!" Kirishima lets out a bark of laughter "More like he saved mine and Jiro's ass from being buried! He's real manly like that, aren't you Kotomine?"

"Indeed." both of them simply let out a small chuckle at my unenthusiastic response, Kirishima and Jiro have a nasty habit of reminding me just how hollow I felt after saving them.

If I wasn't going to feel anything from saving them then why did I bother?

Was it just to keep up appearances?

"You passed, just like Present Mic said you did!" I pick up a girls voice by the doorway and turn my head to see Midoriya once again failing at conversation with the same brown haired girl again, now that I'm closer to her I get a better look at her face.

She's remarkable plain. Just like Midoriya I suppose although she doesn't seem to have the same problem with socialising with the opposite sex that he does.

"Of course you did! Your punch was amazing!" she says full of glee while making a punching motion with her arm.

Punch?

What punch? He didn't score any Villain points? What could he have punched which made him so amazing in her eyes? She doesn't appear to be making a joke at his expense either, she genuinely believes that his quirkless punch was a remarkable achievement.

I furrow my brows in confusion but before I can question about this mysterious punch my thoughts are interrupted by an emotionless voice from the corridor.

"Go somewhere else if you want to make friends."

I'm left to wonder what our teacher looks like as Midoriya, the plain looking girl and Iida all adopt a similar look of shock. The apathetic voice cuts through the ensuing silence.

"You kids aren't rational enough, it took you eight seconds to quiet down and time is already limited as it is."

The owner of the voice steps into the classroom holding what I assume is a yellow sleeping bag. The individual themselves is a tall man, slightly taller than myself, dressed in an all black outfit with shin high black combat boots, around his neck is long fabric of some kind. I take notice of his shoulder-length, scraggly black hair and his face has the onset of a beard and mustache growing. His eyes are the most striking feature however, or more accurately to say that the noticeable bags under his eyes are the most striking feature.

All in all the man looks like a vagrant however given that the teachers at U.A. are all pro-heroes I suspect that the look is intentional.

The man turns to the rest of the classroom and annonces himself in the same tired voice "I'm Aizawa Shota, your homeroom teacher. Nice to meet you."

I stare impassively at the man while the rest of the class gasps in varying levels of shock and surprise at seeing the state of their new homeroom teacher. The man reaches into the yellow sleeping bag held limply at his side "I know its rather sudden" he pulls out a blue U.A. jumpsuit "but put these on and meet me on the field."

The class stares in confusion for a few moments before we head off to the changing rooms. I finish changing into the supplied P.E. uniform and meet up with the rest of my classmates outside.

"Okay," Aizawa grabs our attention again. A rather impressing talent for one with a voice to empty "You're probably wondering why I've brought you out here. To answer your question we'll be doing a Quirk Assessment test."

"A Quirk assessment test?" the class exclaims in perfect unity.

How do people at my schools keep doing that?

The plain looking girl steps forward and voices some of the classes concerns "What about the entrance ceremony? Or the orientation?"

"If you're going to become a hero, you can't waste time with sure leisurely events" Aziawa shoots back almost immediately, I suspect he finds those types of things as pointless as I do, although most of the class make varying noises of surprise at this "U.A's selling point is how unrestricted it's school traditions are."

He turns his head and shoots us a sideways glance "However that's also how the teachers run their classes."

The class remains in a muted silence while the teacher continues "You've been doing it since junior school haven't you? Physical fitness Tests were you weren't allowed to use your quirks."

His face shifts into one of slight disappointment "This country still uses the averages taken from results obtained by students not using their quirks."

He closes his eyes and sighs in exasperation "It's not rational. Well, the ministry of education is procrastinating about it".

He suddenly faces us again and turns his attention to Bakugo "While you didn't finish top of the scoreboard you still gained the most Villain points didn't you Bakugo?"

Said boy suddenly shifts and straightens his posture as the teacher calls out to him.

"What was your furthest soft ball throw in junior high?"

"71 metres" He answers immediately, he was always particularly proud of that result in Junior High as it beat my furthest throw by a metre. Of course I eventually could throw further than that without using my Quirk but I never bothered demonstrating that in P.E. I had already established that I lacked any form of competitive spirit when it came to school activities.

"Then try doing it with your quirk."

Bakugo smiles as he walks forward and takes a softball from Aizawa before he's directed to stand in the white circle on the ground.

"You can do anything you want so long as you don't leave the circle. Hurry up we have other students to test though."

Bakugo stretches out his arms and rolls his shoulders before getting into a pitchers stance. He accelerates his arm forward in an overarching motion before letting of an explosion in his hand which shoots the ball into the sky. While also screaming "DIE!" I watch as the ball flies through the sky leaving behind a slight trail of fire behind it.

"Know your maximum limits first" Aizawa stares down at his phone as it makes a notification as soon as the ball lands "That's the most rational way to form the foundation of being a hero" he holds up his phone to show us the score.

There are a few exclamations of surprise from the class as a boy with dark yellow hair interjects with his voice full of disbelief "705 metres, for real?"

While the some of my other classmates are expressing their excitement at the possibility of using their quirks Bakugo fixes me with a glare which slowly morphs into a smirk. The message is quite clear to me however.

Beat that.

I raise my eyebrow at him and a new strategy forms in my mind. I may lack any love for competition but I would like to see Bakugo's frustrated face if I were to outperform him when it came to the fitness test.

"It looks fun, huh?" the teachers voice brings my attention back to him and I can make out the corners of his lips begin to curl upwards as the rest of the class suddenly quiets down "You have three years to become a hero. Are you going to keep that carefree attitude the entire time?"

His lips fully form into a smirk which promises nothing but suffering to the class "All right. Whoever comes last place in all eight tests will be judged to have zero potential and will be punished with expulsion."

That sends the class into a state of shock and confusion, I feel a little smile of my own forming when looking at their worried faces. I turn to see Midoriya sporting the greatest expression of panic while looking worriedly at his hands, my smile disappears and my face scrunches up in confusion. It's understandable to be worried about the threat of expulsion but his reaction is extreme even by his standards.

"Teachers are free to do what they want about the circumstances of their students." The teachers voice jolts both myself and Mirdoriya out of our thoughts before we return our focus to him.

Aizawa lifts up his hair to give a full view of his face and the manic grin he is currently wearing "Welcome to the U.A.'s hero course!"

"Last place will be expelled?" the plain girl speaks out with a worried tone of voice "But it's the first day! Even if it wasn't that's too unfair!"

"Neither are natural disasters, criminals, or accidents" I find myself saying before I even realise it and the class focus shifts onto me "As prospective heroes it is expected of us to face unfair situations on a regular basis."

The class gives me varied looks of concern and Aizawa nods at me "He's right, for the next three years U.A is going to ensure you face one hardship after another." his smile shifts and becomes more taunting "Go beyond. Plus ultra." He makes a 'come at me' gesture with his finger while staring at the whole class whose faces have become far more serious "Overcome that hardship with everything you have."

Aizawa's face reverts back to a serious expression "Okay the real thing starts now. The first test will be a fifty metre dash. Up first we'll have Iida and Kotomine."

Both myself and the Iida boy nod before making our way over to the running track, at the end is a small tripod robot with a camera for a head, I assume it's to mark down our times. The Iida boy has what appears to be engines in his legs so I assume that his quirk allows him to travel at high speed.

'In that case I'll have to reinforce my legs to their maximum to keep pace with him.'

We both lower ourselves and assume a runners position. I'm already focusing on reinforcing my legs.

"On your marks." the robots voice signals the countdown as both myself and my opponent ready ourselves.

"Get set"

I narrow my eyes and control my breathing, I shift my feet to allow myself to burst off at maximum initial potential.

"Go!"

My legs shoot forwards and I hear the telltale sound of the ground slightly cracking behind me as I leave a small shockwave in my wake, I quickly assume a runners stance as Iida barely keeps pace with me although he is gradually picking up speed it won't allow him to catch up to me before we cross the finish line.

"2.98 seconds" the tripod calls out as I slide to a halt.

The "3.04 seconds" signals to me that Iida has just finished. He slides past me and fixes me with a serious look.

He marches up to me and slightly bows his head "I must apologies, because of my Quirk I completely underestimated you." I raise an eyebrow and him before replying "It is of no concern, you were probably right to do given the nature of your Quirk. If the race were to go on any further than this I have no doubt you would have beaten me."

He shakes his head at me "Nevertheless I have shown you a great discourtesy and must apolo-"

"Oi, clear the track. I've got other students to test." Aizawa cuts him off and he sputters out another apology before we make our way over to the rest of our classmates.

"We haven't been introduced yet" the boy extends a hand to me "My name is Iida Tenya, a pleasure to meet you"

"Kotomine Kirei" I grab his hand and shake it.

The rest of the class performs adequately for the fifty metre dash although the plain haired girl makes a rather pitiful run of seven seconds, as she finishes I notice she seems rather winded at the run.

She's followed by a pinkskinned girl with horns and a rather extravagant looking blonde haired boy wearing a strange around his waste with a magnifying glass of sorts in the centre. My confusion as to the purpose of the belt is quickly sated when he fires off a blue beam from his chest although it seems to dissipate after a second sending him crashing to the ground before he fires off a second burst to finish with a time of five and a half seconds.

The blonde boy turns to us with a self-satisfied smile on his face "If I shoot for more than a second I get a stomache."

I imagine my classmates are feeling a similar look of confusion as myself as to why he could possibly smile at such a glaring weakness.

I turn my attention back to the track as Midoriya and Bakugo line up to race. Bakugo creates miniature explosions to propel himself forwards while Midoriya is left behind with a simple run.

"4.13 seconds" the robot calls out and Bakugo clicks his tongue at the number before turning to see the smirk on my face, he scowls at me and narrows his eyes.

"7.02 seconds" The robot calls out Midoriya's time as he leans over and rests his hands on his knees, seemingly panicking about something, I file that away for future reference.

"Alright" the teacher gets our attention again "Head into the indoor gym, we're gonna move onto the next set of tests."

The next test is grip strength, reinforcing my hand I squeeze on the machine and look at the number

'347 kilograms'

I nod to myself before looking around at the others, it seems I'm beaten out by a rather physically imposing classmate with webbed arms, I believe his name is Shoji Mezo, who manages to have a grip strength of 540kg and Yaoyorozu Momo who uses her quirk to create a clamp to surpass both of our scores.

The standing long jump is passed with ease. I instantly clear the sand pit like both Bakugo and the lazer Quirk child, I learn his name is Aoyama Yuga who turns out to have moved here from France if his accent and occasional slip into a foreign dialect are anything to go by.

Repeated sidesteps are a competed with casual ease too, although the small midget who can remove the balls on his scalp outperforms everyone but using their natural springy repulsion too him to quickly dart himself between two piles of them, I'm not ashamed to admit that was a bit of ingenuity I did not expect from him.

"Kotomine Kirei, It's your turn to throw the ball" Aizawa signals me to come over and I collect soft ball before standing in the throwing circle.

I reinforce my arm and shoulder muscles and wind back preparing to throw, my arm shoots forward and the ball is released at considerable speed. I watch it disappear into the distance before turning back to Aizawa.

"467.2 metres" He calls out and I get a few congratulations and pats on the back, except for Bakugo who smirks at me for having gotten a lower score than him, before the next person is called up "Uraraka Ochaco."

The plain looking girl steps up and collects the softball, she makes a more relaxed throwing stance and almost pathetically chucks the ball in a manner which to anyone else would have it go no more than a few metres. Evidently that is not what happens as we all watch the softball float out of view, after around a minute we realise that the softball isn't coming back down and turn to Aizawa who just marks it as infinity. Which earns a few shouts of surprise and disbelief at the score.

"Midoriya Izuku." Aizawa calls him out last as I watch him stare at the ball for a few seconds.

"This isn't looking good for Midoriya" Iida grabs Bakugo's Uraraka's and my own attention "If he doesn't shape up it looks like he'll be the one going home."

"Huh?" Bakugo lets out a confused sound "Of course it doesn't look good for him! He's a quirkless small fry!"

While I wouldn't frame it like that Bakugo does have a point, I have found myself somewhat disappointed in Midoriyas performance despite his ten months of intensive training.

"Quirkless?" Iida raises an eyebrow and Bakugo and looks at him in disbelief "Did you not hear bout what he did in the entrance exam?"

"What?/Eh?" both myself and Bakugo vocalise out confusion at the same time before turning to look at eachother. Evidently he is as confused as this statement as I am and we both return our gaze to Midoriya just as he throws the ball.

"46 metres" It's not a great score and yet Midoriya looks positively mortified by this result. I can already feel by brows furrowing in confusion at his overreaction to the ball throw.

I swiftly turn my attention to Aizawa whose hair and scarf seem to be floating, at this point Midoriya's eyes widen in recognition and he reveals Aizawa to be Eraser head. I remember him from one of Midoriya's early hero analysis booklets, the power to erase quirks just by looking at an individual although he works as an underground hero so it's of no surprise that few of my other classmates recognise the name.

Aizawa extends his scarf and pulls Midoriya towards him, I can't make out what their conversation is but by the time it's done Midoriya is sporting the same look of defeat he had before the U.A. results came in, I'm desperately biting back a laugh I feel growing, every time I see that saddened look I feel a disgusting sense of elation.

"It looks like he received some advice" Iida offers his opinion and I roll my eyes at Bakugo's response "Probably just telling him he's expelled"

Midoriya stands there with that same look of despair on his face for a few moments before it suddenly vanishes as if never existing there at all and is replaced with one of sheer determination.

I raise an eyebrow in curiosity as to what he thinks will be so different this time.

He reaches the apex of his throw and releases the ball.

My eyes widen instantly as he throws the ball so hard that it releases a shockwave and soars through the air, I'm not the only one as Bakugo matches my look of disbelief as the ball continues to fly with momentum to match his.

"705.3m" the robot calls out but I barely even register it.

"Sensei" My attention immediately shifts back to Midoriya as I still feel my eyebrows halfway up my forehead and my mouth left slightly open. It's then Midoriya turns to face us and raises a clenched fist, my attention now shifts to his obviously broken finger on his right hand.

"I can still move." He forms a smile on his face despite how much pain he is clearly in.

I can make out my classmates cheering for Midoriya's score or pointing out his broken finger but I'm still focused on the fact the assumed quirkless boy just exceed my throw with a single finger.

Was his dream...never impossible?

No he just broke his finger throwing that ball.

Is the cost of his dream self harm?

Surely not, such a thing would be horrifying for any potential hero.

Why do I feel this sense of excitement when I consider the only means of obtaining his dream might kill him?

More importantly how long has Midoriya had a quirk? It can't have been long, the boy is infatuated with quirks. He would never miss out on the possibility of training his own. Beyond that, to subject himself to such torment under the guise of being quirkless. Midoriya's personality isn't so self destructive.

I cast a glance over to Bakugo and immediately have to turn away and hold my hand up to my face to cover my rather large smile. His eyes are wide and his jaw is dropped in such an amusing way as I can only guess what he's thinking. His belief that Midoriya was a quirkless loser has been shattered so suddenly and by Midoriya beating his score by such a tiny amount. I imagine that's quite the blow to his superiority complex.

My enjoyment of Bakugo's face of slack jawed disbelief doesn't last long as his face turns into a one of pure anger as he charges out and away from the rest of the class straight at Midoriya. I'm too caught up in my own amusement to even react to him.

"Deku you bastard! What is the meaning of th-" he's cut off when Aizawa wraps his scarf around him, halting his charge "Damn it... what's with this cloth?"

"They're weapons used for capturing villains, they're made of carbon fibre combined with a special metal alloy." Aziawa answers him before his voice becomes laced with irritation "Jeez… Don't keep making me use my Quirk over and over again. I suffer from dry eye!"

I feel a small smirk form on my face as I think about the unfortunate weakness a man with a purely ocular quirk suffers from.

"We're wasting time, lets move on to the next test"

Midoriya nods and makes his way over to us while Uraraka looks at him with concern "Is your finger alright?" Midoriya jumps slightly at her addressing him before he replies "Oh, yeah"

"Well them…" Midoriya shifts his attention onto me "I suppose congratulations are in order. You've manifested your quirk. I suspect that Inko-san will be happy although she might be less than pleased that you break your fingers each time you use it."

He promptly pales at the imagery before giving me a rather stilted answer "Y-yeah I only got it recently so I'm not used to it yet." he awkwardly shifts under my gaze, he's telling the truth about only recently getting his quirk. He's a remarkably poor liar however something about his wording strikes me as odd.

Well, I suppose is doesn't really matter now.

"Ummm…" we're both reminded that Uraraka is still here as we shift our attention to her "How do you two know each other anyway?"

"He's my brother" we answer at the same time causing her eyes to widen as she quickly looks between myself and Midoriya.

"Eh! But yo-"

"I'm adopted." I answer her rather obvious question and she makes a face of understanding.

The remaining tests are less intensive that the first few and I still maintain position at the top even without being able to use my quirk for a couple of them.

Aizawa gathers us up once all the tests are finished "Okay, I'll quickly tell you the results. The total is simply the marks you got for each test." his expression and tone are back to their regular apathetic nature "It'll be a waste of time to go through your results verbally so I'll just show you the results all at once" he clicks his remote and a holographic leadership table pops up.

I'm in third place with Todoroki in second and Yaoyorozu being in first, Bakugo however is in foruth although his look of disbelief at Midoriya's ball throw has already satisfied me more than beating him possibly could. I continue to scan the table looking for Midoriya's name until I spot it, in twenty-first place and I'm reminded of Aizawa's threat of what will happen to last place.

I'm desperately resisting the temptation to look over at whatever face of despair Midoriya is currently making, if I do I doubt I could possibly contain my sickening laughter.

"By the way I was lying about the expulsion" Aizawa states with all the casual ease of reading out a weather forecast. He face splits into a sadistic grin "It was a rational deception to bring out the upper limits of your Quirks."

The class lets out indignant shrieks of surprise and outrage while Midoriya looks like he just rose from the dead.

"It should have been obvious that it was a lie if you really thought about it" Yaoyorozu states as if it were completely obvious, she's clearly not too practiced dealing with liars or it's just my natural talent when it comes to it but I could clearly tell Aizawa wasn't lying when he said he was going to expel last place. Up until the results were shown he had been fully prepared to removed a student from the course.

Evidently he feels Midoriya has at least some small amount of potential.

"With that we're done. There are handouts with the curriculum and such in the class room for you to look at when you get back." Aizawa states before starting to walk off "Midoriya..." he hands a piece of paper over to the green haired child "have the old lady fix you in the nurses office. Tomorrow will be filled with even more rigorous tests. Prepare yourself" with that done he leaves.

I don't see Midoriya again until school ends, it seems that Recovery girls healing consumes a persons stamina to dramatically increase the a persons healing rate.

Before we can get out of the gate however Midoriya is stopped by the Iida boy.

"Is your finger healed?" Midoriya jumps slightly at his presence before calming down and answering his question "Yeah, thanks to recovery girl." his concerns sated Iida smiles at Midoriya as we continue walking on.

Iida crosses his arms "I was really taken in by Aizawa-sensei though" he suddenly says and shifts both mine and Midoriya's attention onto him "I even thought 'This is the best of the best' but to think that a teacher would encourage us with a lie." he shakes his head, obviously used to more straightforward teachers, although I don't bother correcting him that Aizawa didn't actually lie.

"Hey! You three!" We're brought out of our comfortable silence by a voice from behind us, we turn to stop Uraraka running towards us with a smile on her face "You're going to the station too right? Wait for me!"

"You're the infinity girl right?" Iida asks her as she reaches us. She smiles at him and replies "I'm Uraraka Ochaco" she adopts a more thoughtful expression as she looks at Iida "and you're… Iida Tenya-kun right?" at his nod she turns her attention to me "You're umm Kotomine Kirei-kun." she finally turns to Midoriya.

"And you're Midoriya Deku-kun, right?"

"Hah!" I turn my head and try to hide my sudden burst of laughter with a cough, the casual ease at which she calls him useless to his face with an expression of pure innocence brings about that nasty warm feeling again.

"Huh?" Both Iida and Uraraka look at myself and Midoriya in confusion "But during the test the boy named Bakugo called you Deku."

Midoriya sputters and that attempting to answer through his stuttering "Ummm...my real name is Izuku but Kacchan calls D-Deku to make fun of me…"

"An insult then?" Iida's face morphs into one of disappointment while Uraraka's changes into a more apologetic one.

"O-oh sorry about that, but I like Deku its got a real 'You can do it' vibe to it" she punctuates this with a small series of air punches.

"I'm Deku!" at Midoriya's comment I simply face palm.

Well...I suppose Bakugo will be angry to learn Midoriya had changed the meaning of his insult.

I stare at the three of them making conversation as we walk to the station and I'm left with that bitter feeling again.

Why can't I enjoy the company of others like then?

AN: Turns out Kotomine is pretty good at P.E. who knew?

I also didn't have Kotomine at the top of the table because I didn't want him to come across as overpowered, he's still pretty young and in the world of Quirks while his is pretty useful its not actually anything too exotic when compared with someone like Shoto's.

Next time we're looking at battle training, so better back your black keys!
