Fate Personified Speaking

~Elven Language~

*Foreign Languages*

(Just easier this way than trying to find the transition in the foreign language since sometimes translators aren't accurate & I don't wish to upset someone who is fluent by messing it up and it be complete nonsense.)

Disclaimer: Only my OC belongs to me and the storyline about my OC, Twilight & True Blood do not belong to me.

3rd Person POV:

"While Fen'Harel planned to put the Veil up as soon as possible. Though it was not finished. You as Vhenan lost in your grief for the loss of your friend & pupil fled to the Crossroads. (The Crossroads are a separate dimension beyond the waking world and beyond the Fade. It is described as one of the "places between," pockets within the Fade with their own rules of reality formed by ancient elves from the fabric of time and space. The Crossroads are a nexus of eluvians. It is a place where all eluvians join, although not necessarily directly. The Crossroads were the means by which ancient elves traveled. Sort of like a highway for the eluvian magical system.) Blindly running into one of the unknown eluvians that lead you here, where we are now. Bumping into me and starting our friendship."Fate told her with so much affection in his voice.

-So I knew Fate in my past life and even came to know him as a friend... Wow.- Evelyn was amazed by all she was told, but could tell that she was getting close to the reason why she is here now.

"So what happened after that did I die and was reborn as who I am now?" Evelyn asked, she had to know. -If that's the case does that mean it's time for me to become Vhenan again? What will happen to me and the life I have now? What about my family?- Evelyn worried she didn't want to cause anymore unnecessary pain to her family.

Fate could hear her worry within her mind for the family she came to know and love in this life. Like her name before, Vhenan, entailed she had a big heart.

"No you did not die you're the Elven Fae, you are immortal. After bumping into me and embracing me in a hug seeking comfort. We got to know one another and became great friends." Fate amusingly told her and chuckled at the slight look of embarrassment on her face.

-So even then I was a bit strange. Hugging a complete stranger at the time for comfort. I know in a hugger, but wow. If I did that back on Earth the person would probably be weirded out and not know what to do or push me away telling me "What the fuck I don't know you!"- Evelyn wince just at the thought of that happen with a person that didn't know her back home.

Laughing heartily while watching his dear friend with the affection of a father. Fate went on with explanation.

"I did not mind your embrace. It was the first time it has happened to me and I rather enjoyed it. The fact you sought comfort from me warmed my very being. For no one had ever sought for me just for companionship." Fate said fondly, lost in the memory of his first hug.

Evelyn could hear the longing in his voice. -Has he been alone all this time and missed having someone around?- Without thinking Evelyn closed the space between them and hugged Fate and was surprised she could. -For a man made of light he feels quite solid and warm. Safe, like coming home from a cold winter's night to the warmth of a welcoming home.-

Fate felt great joy once again in the embrace of his friend. Who he has grown to see as a daughter over time.

After a while Evelyn released her hold on Fate. "I'm sorry, you just seemed like you need a hug." Evelyn shyly said blushing and facing away to hide her redden face.

"Don't be Little One I would never turn away a hug from you." Fate happily told her. Deciding to save her from further embarrassment.

"As we got to know one another. Fen'Harel had put the Veil up accomplishing his goal to trap the Evanuris to save his people. Though he had unknowingly cut off the Fade from the waking world. Making most of the eluvians in the Crossroads no longer work. The one that led you here to me was one of them. So you stayed at my side and I let you see as I do into the fate Ancient Thedas was going through at that time. It broke your heart all that happened to the elven people with the Slave Rebellion, war and then with what the Veil caused. Broken hearted you entered uthenera." Fate remembered the pain he saw in his Little One's heart.

(Legends tell us that ancient elves were immortal in the sense that they neither aged nor died from natural causes. Yet their elders eventually became weary of life and memories. Instead of dying they would voluntarily enter a slumber-like state known as uthenera. While their bodies would remain in the mortal realm, their spirits would cross the Veil and wander the shifting paths of the Fade. This state did not necessarily equal death as some would return, even after centuries, and share the secrets of dreams with their people. Yet many would never wake up, their bodies would deteriorate and they would in fact die.)

"In hope that one day you would wake, I sent your soul to Earth hoping to heal your broken heart and spirit. Which I see it has. You are finally awake and now it's time to go on your next great adventure. Destiny calls and as Fate is my job to lead you down your fated path." Fate told her gently hoping she would take it well.

-So when I woke up here. I woke up in my original body, Vhenan's body...- Evelyn went to feel her ears and sure enough the ends were pointy.

Hearing her thoughts not wanting her to panic Fate spoke up.

"Yes, you are once more Vhenan physically. Your soul once whole again and sensing the need to be back in your original form. Hearing the call of fate to its next destination came back here to your body Vhenan." Fate explained to Evelyn simply to not overwhelm her.

"So I won't be going back home to Earth to my family there? What will happen to my body there? I don't wish my family the pain of losing me they have already been through so much." Evelyn said teary eyed recalling recent events in her life.

-I don't wish my family to feel that pain. We had almost lost Stefan... Now they were going to have to go through the pain of actually losing me...- Evelyn thought tears running down her face. For the heart ache she knew her family would feel. Beginning to sob a bit at the sad face of her family crossing her mind.

Her parents that were working so hard even before COVID. Making sure Stefan's medical expenses were paid and providing a roof over their heads and food in their bellies. That their family would want for nothing even with the difficulties COVID caused. Even while working hard to provide time to spend time with their kids as a family.

Stefan was battling every day to get better and get to 100% again. That depends on his family to help him get there. That he keeps him going with the fact they believe in him. Who had started back up his old hobbies, like streaming his video games again. That seemed impossible after his accident.

Ryan who was in college on the way to getting a degree in the career he had chosen, pharmaceuticals. Who even away at college worried for his family's well being. Stays in contact with them and tries to help them in any way he can. While also starting to make a life of his own away from home.

-How would this affect my family?- Evelyn couldn't help, but worry. Not wanting her family to hurt and put everything on pause for her. For if her soul was no longer in her body there, but here in Vhenan's body. Then it would appear as she had fallen into a coma and eventually that body would die without her soul there in it.

Sensing the ache it caused her spirit for her family on Earth and the frantic thoughts she had. Fate wished to sooth her so slowly brought her into his embrace wrapping his arms around her rocking her back and forth, as she had seen many comfort their loved ones.

Evelyn's frazzled mind calmed at the warm safe feeling that enveloped her. Realizing Fate was holding her, rocking her, and humming a long forgotten tune to calm her. Feeling grateful Evelyn finally calmed and held on to Fate tightly. -I truly feel like a child now who's going to their father to keep the monsters at bay, but then again to Fate I am a child.-

"Calm Little One, fear not for your family on Earth. Now that you can't be there I can help with it. I can make it to where your family thinks you are away for college starting to make a life of your own. Where you pay for your brother, Stefan, to have a Caregiver take care of him while your parents work. Allowing you to still talk to your family through phone calls, text messages, and email. Though you would eventually have to lose all contact disappear or I can make it that you never exist there." Fate told her, waiting patiently for her response knowing it was a difficult choice to make.

Evelyn was silent for a long time thinking it through. Finally making her choice she set back from Fate's embrace and looked to where his eyes should be in his face made of light.

"Thank you for doing this to ease my worry for my family. Even though I would love to be able to still speak with them as I am elsewhere. I can't put my family through the pain of eventually losing all contact with me not knowing if I'm alive or dead. Knowing my mother, she would drive herself mad worrying trying to find evidence of me being alive and well." Evelyn inhaled deeply to calm herself. Sighing out knowing the decision she was about to make was a hard one.

"It would be best if you made it so I never existed there, but can you still provide Stefan a Caregiver? I don't wish for my family to struggle." Evelyn said teary eyed.

"Of course Little One. I will make it to where even though you can't speak to them, you can still see how they are doing. I know this was a difficult choice to make for you. So I will try to ease your sorrow of losing them as much as I can." Fate told her kindly.

Touched by Fate's thoughtfulness Evelyn gave Fate a quick hug making him chuckle. Fate was glad to have his precious friend Vhenan back.

"Thanks again." Evelyn whispers with a small smile. "So now that I'm back here as Vhenan again and know of my past that led to me being on Earth. What happens now?" Evelyn asked Fate calmly. Others would be overwhelmed with all this. Panicking or angry from being pulled from their lives, but Evelyn was calm. Like she subconsciously knew this would one day happen.

"You're welcome Little One. Now you will slowly remember your past life as Vhenan though it will not affect you negatively. For its simply is that the past." Fate reassured her.

"Then as you currently are as Vhenan. You shall be reborn into the new world you are destined to be a part of. Though remember you may know of other worlds, but the information you have learned on Earth is not all correct." Fate smiled knowing what awaited her would surprise her.

Evelyn took all that Fate told her in nodding her acknowledgment. Ready for her next great adventure.

"If ever you need to talk to me just think of me. I will hear you and answer your call in your mind. Farewell Little One, your destiny awaits." Fate watched her as she started to disappear before him smiling. Knowing she would be alright and find happiness in this new world.

Evelyn POV:

Watching Fate faded away was the last thing I remembered. Next thing I knew I was being blinded by a bright light shutting my eyes quickly.

I could hear a nonstop beeping and a woman groaning out in pain. I realize I was all wet and naked from being exposed to the cold air till I was wrapped into something soft and warm.

I finally open my eyes again, adjusting to the light and look around. The room was all white. Then I look down to see I have tiny hands. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.

-I'm a baby!! In a hospital room... Oh God! I was just born... Thankfully I didn't have to actually experience being born, small miracles.-

At first I didn't think this would be too bad, but then I remember being a baby I would have to start all over again. Learn to walk and talk again not to mention potty training.

-I'm a 29 year old woman stuck in the body of a baby. I will have to deal with people treating me like a kid when I'm a grown woman in my head. It's ok I can be a child prodigy to help with that.-

Then I thought in utter horror. -Oh Hera no!! I will have to go through puberty again! That was horrible I have to go through that again!!-

3rd Person POV:

While Evelyn thought of this mere moments have passed. Her new parents and the doctor were getting worried because she was so quiet and still. Then out of the blue she throws her head back and cries at the top of her lungs.

Hope everyone is enjoying the story so far. Now it's going to really get rolling. Next chapter will explain a bit of what happened in Evelyn's childhood and what she has changed by being there. Leading to the start of Twilight.
