Chapter 6: To The Underworld We Go!
Both Serenity and Octavia were at one of the enterances to the Underworld and were looking in.
"Pretty dark." Octavia said.
Serenity looked back at Severity and Neopolitan.
"We got it from here." Serenity said.
"Are you sure?" Neopolitan asked as she was finally speaking.
"Yeah, we are just going to look and see if there is any light source when we first enter." Serenity said.
"Okay." Severity said with a shrug.
The two walked off speaking to one another.
"They are somewhat of a cute couple." Octavia said.
"Least she's finally talking." Serenity said.
"She didn't before?" Octavia asked.
"Well it's-" Serenity began to say.
Suddenly they heard talking inside which the voices sounded familiar to Serenity.
"Stay back, I hear people talking." Serenity said.
"They're coming this way." Octavia said.
Serenity and Octavia hid on each side of the underworld entrance and walking out was Marik and Bakura.
"I cannot believe you got us kicked out!" Bakura shouted at him.
"They are just jealous, one day we will return as their kings!" Marik said.
"You two!?" Serenity said.
Marik and Bakura jumped and turned around.
"You!?" Marik said.
"You know them?" Octavia asked.
"Met them a long time ago when we fought Shaula." Serenity said.
"Yes, and you made us unemployed." Marik said.
Serenity rolled her eyes.
"Listen we were kicked out of the Underworld and need to know where to go from here, could you help us?" Bakura asked.
"Why was you two kicked out?" Octavia asked.
Bakura thumbed to Marik.
"It wasn't entirely my fault! They didn't bow to me!" Marik said.
"He wanted everyone in the Underworld to accept him as their leader and looked like a complete idiot. So he was kicked out and later made me get kicked out since he lied to them saying I believed him to be our king." Bakura said.
"If I go down, you go down with me. Your king demands it." Marik said.
"You idiot... besides there are already four leaders down there anyway." Bakura said.
"Four?" Serenity asked.
"Yes. There are four leaders in the Underworld. A man called the Plague Doctor, Echidna Gorgon, a giant insect known as the Aparoid Queen, and a fucking bird named Shen." Bakura said.
"Echidna..." Serenity mumbled in surprise.
"The Aparoid Queen." Octavia mumbled at the same time.
"You know those two?" Bakura asked.
"It's a long story- listen can you two come with us please?" Serenity asked.
"Why?" Marik asked.
Serenity sighed.
"We need to know where to go in the Underworld and you two have been there for a while I take it." Serenity said.
"Even if we wanted to, he got us kicked out." Bakura said pointing to Marik.
"Please you guys, we can keep you protected." Serenity said.
"Why do you want to go down there?" Bakura asked.
"We need to tell them." Octavia said.
Marik and Bakura looked at one another and then to the girls cocking their eyebrows.
A few minutes after explaining, Marik and Bakura nodded and followed Serenity and Octavia to their friends.
An hour later.
"Absolutely not!" Dray said.
"Dad, they were down there and know where to go." Serenity said.
"They're idiots! Especially the one looking at himself!" Dray said.
Marik was checking out his own body while Bakura gave Dray a mean look.
"Dad." Serenity said.
"Serenity's right, They can be a great help to us." Aizen said.
"Fine, but I'm coming with you guys." Dray said.
"Same here." Cosmic said.
"I think we all should go, bigger numbers will mean no one will try to mess with us." Aizen said.
"When do we leave?" Javik asked.
"Tomorrow, let everyone know now okay?" Aizen asked Gin.
Gin nodded and walked off.
"I'll help." Cosmic said walking up behind him.
"You promise to keep us safe, yes?" Bakura asked.
"Yes." Aizen said.
"How many people did you two- I mean, did HE piss off?" Dray asked while pointing to Marik.
"Everyone." Bakura sighed.
"They're just jealous of me!" Marik said.
"You annoyed them." Bakura said.
"Because I'm there king, they are to pay attention to me." Marik said.
Aizen turned around and looked at Ken and Eto who were already getting annoyed by Marik.
"Maybe we could do this blind..." Aizen said.
"As much as I'd like us to do this ourselves, we will need their help." Eto said.
Aizen sighed looking back to Marik.
"Tomorrow we will meet at the entrance and-" Aizen said.
"I shall lead us!" Marik said.
"Fine fine, you will lead us." Aizen said.
"Where is it you guys need to go?" Bakura asked.
"Is there a main source of aura that glows in the Underworld?" Stolas asked.
"There is but we haven't gotten too close to it since that's where the leaders are." Bakura said.
"Wait to hold on, you're telling me that the leaders like the Aparoid Queen are in that spot?" Octavia asked.
"Aparoid Queen?" Ken asked.
"Yes. I take it none of you like them?" Bakura asked.
"It's a long story but let's just say we was their enemies in the past life." Serenity said.
"Well then, won't this be fun for you all." Bakura said.
"If we are going I need to find makeup to look good- is there any makeup around here?" Marik asked.
"What do you think?" Bakura said.
"Well I don't know if they have made it or not, we been living underground." Marik said.
"No." Dray said.
"Shoot- then I guess I have to go looking like a minority like yourselves." Marik said with a sigh.
Everyone gave him a look.
"Forgive him please." Bakura said facepalming.
"Let's get some rest everyone." Aizen said.
Later on, Serenity was packing a few things and she was greeted by Akechi.
"Need a hand?" Akechi asked.
"It isn't much." Serenity said.
"I figured since none of us really have anything but I wouldn't mind to carry it for you." Akechi said.
Serenity smiled and so did Akechi while looking at one another.
"Ahem." Octavia said breaking the silence.
"Oh! I forgot I need to check on Aizen!" Akechi said and walked out quickly.
"But Aizen is doing okay?" Sasori said who was nearby and heard what he said.
"No he isn't!" Akechi said.
Sasori blinked and went back to work.
"I need to check on dad." Serenity said.
Octavia grabbed Serenity before she walked out and put her back.
"Admit it, you got a crush on him." Octavia said.
"Maybe a little, but I can't fall in love again." Serenity said.
"Oh, I'm sure you could if you try." Octavia said with a grin.
"Really I'm not going to do that." Serenity said.
Akechi walked off and was greeted by Gin.
"So, I saw you and Serenity getting nearly frisky." Gin said.
"Nothing is going on." Akechi said.
"The look you two gave one another sure didn't say nothing." Gin said.
Akechi just sighed and composed himself.
"Look we got a mission to do." Akechi said.
"Is that mission to kiss her?" Gin asked.
Akechi just frowned.
"Kiss who?" Ken asked walking up with Eto.
"Serenity." Gin said.
"Serenity!?" Ken and Eto asked.
"Gin!" Akechi shouted.
"You like Serenity?" Ken asked raising an eyebrow.
"Can we drop this?" Akechi asked.
"Strange I thought Serenity said she likes him too." Eto said.
"Wait she does?" Akechi asked.
"I thought you said we should drop this?" Gin asked.
"Yeah yeah yeah, I changed my mind now." Akechi said.
"I was lying to see what you would say." Eto said.
"Bitch." Akechi said in his mind but gave a fake smile.
"That was quite the trick you pulled on me. Well done!" Akechi said.
Eto just grinned at him.
A few minutes later, Eto approached Serenity and Octavia.
"I think you got a crush." Eto said.
"You too?" Serenity asked.
Eto didn't know what to say.
"I mean- Octavia came to me about Akechi and now are you?" Serenity asked.
"Try holding his hand sometime, see what he does." Eto said with a shrug.
"We have important things to worry about, like our future." Serenity said.
"Sure sure." Eto said.
The next day, everyone was gathered up and ready to go while waiting on Bakura and Marik to arrive.
"They was suppose to be here an hour ago." Aizen said.
"Maybe they got lost?" Gin asked.
"I told them to stay at Dray's- Dray can you check to see if they are coming?" Aizen asked.
Dray sighed and returned to his tent only to find Marik asleep and Bakura being the one to pack.
"Seriously?" Dray asked.
"Seriously." Bakura sighed.
Dray walked up and kicked Marik.
"Ow! I'm awake!" Marik said.
"You're just lazy." Dray said.
"I need my beauty sleep, and since none of us can sleep its beauty rest." Marik said.
Dray and Bakura both grabbed him dragging him along the mud.
"Ahh! My beautiful face!" Marik shouted.
A few minutes later they returned and dropped Marik.
"Everyone ready?" Bakura asked while ignoring Marik's groans.
"We are." Aizen said.
Bakura beckoned everyone to follow but Marik ran up ahead.
"I am the leader! I shall lead!" Marik said.
Bakura sighed as everyone else didn't argue and just wanted to hurry up.
As they was following Marik, Stolas looked over to Aizen.
"We will need to find the most aura in the Underworld for me to see how we could utilize it." Stolas said.
"Just curious, how hard will it be?" Aizen asked.
"Very difficult." Stolas said.
"Anything we can do to help?" Cosmic asked.
"Not really, just give me time to think after we find the most aura." Stolas said.
"We will probably need to keep you protected while you focus." Aizen said.
"That would help." Stolas said.
The group entered the cave and it was at first dark but then they saw light coming from the corners of the tunnel.
"We will be entering a large cavern soon." Bakura said.
"Will we run into any problems?" Serenity asked.
"Plenty." Bakura said.
Once they exited the tunnel, they appeared in a large cavern with a glowing yellow aura spread everywhere.
There was bone huts scattered everywhere with some random people fighting one another.
One man was being beaten right beside them constantly.
"Seems it's just as lively since we last left!" Marik said.
"Which was yesterday." Bakura added.
Everyone looked around.
"So this is where every bad person in the entire universe stays? It's awful down here." Ken said.
"I'm not bad." Marik said.
"You was." Serenity said.
"We was." Bakura added.
"I was not!" Marik shouted.
Some Underworld citizens began to turn their heads looking at them and started to go their direction.
"Okay moving on, can you take us to the place that has the most aura?" Aizen asked.
"If they apologize." Marik said crossing his arms.
"Marik we do not have time for this!" Bakura shouted.
Suddenly they was being swarmed by a group of different people holding bone clubs.
"Uh, guys?" Makoto said.
Everyone looked around.
"We told you to get out!" A giant man shouted at Marik.
Marik quickly hid behind Aizen.
"He's the leader, not me." Marik said.
Aizen just gave a deadpan stare.
"Listen we are here on an important mission." Dray said.
"You're leaving." One of them said.
"We aren't going to bother any of you." Cosmic said.
"Hold on!" A voice called out.
The Underworld citizens moved out of the way for the individual to arrive looking directly at Aizen.
It was the Plague Doctor.
"One of the Underworld leaders." Bakura said.
"I know him." Aizen said.
"Aizen." The Plague Doctor said.
Jessica held Aizen's arm tightly while glaring at the Plague Doctor.
The Plague Doctor looked at all of the Underworld Citizens gathering around.
"Escort them to our chamber, we want to have a word with them." The Plague Doctor said.
"Oh shit." Bakura said.
"What's going to happen?" Octavia asked.
"Maybe they'll kindly let us go?" Mangle said.
"Now isn't the time for joking." Octavia said.
"They're going to hurt us, big time." Bakura said.
Everyone was shoved to follow the Plague Doctor and they did as they noticed they was outnumbered.
"We will play along for now." Serenity said.
"I know one thing, we're in serious trouble." Dray said.
"On a bright note, we are heading toward the main glow of the aura, so perhaps this will work in our favor." Stolas said.
"Just keep quiet about it until after you solve it okay?" Dray asked.
"Got it." Stolas said.
"We will keep the attention on us for this one." Aizen said.
They were all escorted toward the main cavern chamber nearby.
