Chapter 5: Rescuing Amy: Icy Blizzards

Mobius, Spagonia…

Our heroes make their way down the streets heading to the area where Sonic and the other's saw something strange. Earlier, they made a stop at Professor Pickle's University and explained to him that they couldn't access Spagonia's Gaia Temple. During their short stay there, Tails gave them a device that he's been working on with the Professor that'll assist them on their journey. He also gave them communicating wrist watches so that they can stay in touch with each other, no matter how far they are. Hearing the sound of music getting louder and louder, they stopped walking and gasped at what they saw. A group of people were dancing for some odd reason. Though something was very...unusual. Looking closer, they saw Amy among the group, who still seemed normal.

"It's Amy-chan!" Sailor Moon said with wide eyes.

"And the Professor's assistant too!" Mercury pointed out.

"H-Hey! What's the big idea?!" Amy demanded the professor's assistant, who laughed and kept forcing the pink Mobian hedgehog to dance with him.

"Hahahaha! Come on babe, let's dance the night away!"

"Ack, help!" She cried out, hoping someone will come and save her from this madness.

"What the hell is going on here?" Jupiter asked, flabbergasted.

"Maybe there's some kind of party going on?" Chip wondered as he pulled out the camera, which is the device that Tails and Professor Pickle gave him back at the lab.

"No...something's not right here." said Sonic, furrowing his eyebrows. Concentrating deeply, Sailor Mars uses her spiritual powers to decipher this strange phenomenon. Just as she suspected, she saw Dark Gaia's energy within them, with the exception of Amy.

"Chip! Flash the camera at them!"

Nodding, Chip pressed the button on the camera, which emitted a bright flash among the townspeople. The bright flash causes something to emerge from within the townspeople, Dark Gaia creatures.

"I knew it!" Sonic thought, growling. Leaving the people lying on the road unconscious and Amy spinning away uncontrollably, the monsters spotted the group and charged at them.

"WHOA! It's a carnival of creeps out there!" Chip exclaimed as the others charged at the monsters. Slipping underneath one's claw swipe, Sailor Jupiter locks its arm and POW! She hits it with an open-hand palm-strike to the chin, breaking its neck and killing it almost instantly. She then leg sweeps another one from behind, spins on one hand, and kicks it in the chest, sending it barreling into a pile of explosive crates.

KA-BOOM!

"FIRE SOUL~!" bellowed Sailor Mars as she shoots a fire ball at the purple Dark Gaia creatures, burning them and incinerating them into ashes.

SLASH! HACK SLASH!

Sonic hacks and slashes the Dark Gaia creatures with his claws, slicing them into ribbons. He ducks underneath a punch from one of the creatures and POW! He uppercuts it into the air. But he didn't stop there. The were hog jumps in the air, grabs the Dark Gaia creatures, and slams it to the ground, crushing its skull an swiftly ending its life. Sailor Venus is deftly avoiding the frenzy of claw swipes and punches the Dark Gaia creatures were throwing at her. Black flipping away from them, she summons her chain and uses it to create a sword made of light/energy.

"VENUS WINK CHAIN SWORD~!"

SLASH! SLASH! HACK!

In one rapid movement, Sailor Venus instantly appears behind the Dark Gaia creatures and they were all rendered into ribbons by her light/energy sword. Puts her sword away and scoffs, flipping her hair.

"MERCURY AQUA BLIZZARD~!" Sailor Mercury howls as she unleashes a torrent of snow at the monsters, freezing them into blocks of ice.

"SILVER MOON CRYSTAL POWER KISS~!" Sailor Moon shouts, shooting beams of bright pink light at the monsters, eradicating them from existence. She lowers her Eternal Tiare and lets out a small sigh of relief.

"Alright, that's the last of them."

Sonic went to check up on Amy and the townspeople were regaining consciousness. With Dark Gaia's creatures no longer possessing them, they were back to their normal selves.

"W-What was I...just doing...?" the Professor's assistant wondered to himself. Sonic grabs Amy by her shoulders and helps her up to her feet. The pink hedgehog flutters her eyes open and begins to turn around. But before she could see him, Sonic quickly rushes off, stretching his arms to grab onto a building and swings away.

"SONIC-KUN!" The Inner Senshi shouted as they rushed after the Werehog.

"Ah, wait up!" Chip hollered as he turned to wave at Amy before flying after Sonic.

"Just now, was that...Sonic?" she wondered out loud.

"Ahh, that should calm things down around here. Chalk another one up for Sonic." said Professor Pickle, approaching Amy.

"You know Sonic?!"

"Of course," the Professor nods. "He was here just a moment ago."

"Tell me...what's happened to him?! Please, tell me everything you know!" Amy pleads as she grabs the Professor's hand and drags him off to the University.

"I will happily explain everything over a plate of cucumber sandwiches!"

BGM: Sonic Unleashed Ost- "Spagonia Hub Night"

A while later, Sonic sighed as he sat on the roof, watching the full moon. Why did he run away like that? It wasn't like him. He really wanted to tell Amy it was him but...he hesitated. Why did he? Was it because he was afraid that she still wouldn't recognize him in his Werehog form? That she would reject him and see him as a hideous monster? Meanwhile, the Inner Senshi were rushing down the streets on search for Sonic.

"SONIC-KUN~! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Sailor Moon calls out.

"SONIC-KUN!" Sailor Venus yelled out, but no answer.

Chip looks inside a trash can. "Sonic! You in there?!"

"WHY THE F**K WOULD HE BE IN A TRASH CAN?!" Sailor Mars barked angrily.

"SONIC-KUN!" Sailor Moon shouted again.

"SONIC!" Sailor Jupiter hollered, sadly there was still no answer.

"Oh Sonic-kun...where could you be?" Sailor Mercury muttered in worry.

"ARRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!"

Suddenly, they hear a low howl from somewhere nearby, causing them to look up.

"A wolf?" asked Sailor Venus. They then notice a familiar silhouette sitting in front of the full moon, howling loudly as he sat on a rooftop. It didn't take long for them to realize who it was.

"That must be Sonic-kun!" Venus gasped in realization. Everyone was overjoyed and relieved by the news.

"HORRAY!" Sailor Moon beamed, jumping up and down with joy.

"Thank goodness!" the Mercurian soldier smiled in relief.

"ARRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!" Up on the rooftop, Sonic howled sadly at the moon, his ears drooping.

"SONIC-KUN/SONIC!" His ears perk up when he heard a pair of familiar voices call out his name. Turning around, he saw Chip and the Inner Senshi behind him with looks of joy and relief on their faces.

"Guys?" questioned Sonic.

"Sonic-kun, thank goodness you're alright." Sailor Mercury smiled at the Werehog.

"What are you all doing here?" asked Sonic.

"What do you think?" Sailor Venus asked. "We've been looking for you silly!"

"You ran of so suddenly, we were worried about you." said Sailor Moon as she and the others approach the Werehog, who sighs.

"Thanks for worrying about me guys but..." Sonic turns away from them "...I'm fine..."

The Sailor Senshi frown at this. They know full and well that Sonic was anything but fine.

"Sonic-kun..." Sailor Moon spoke gently. "Why did you run off like that?"

"You had the chance to tell Amy that it was you, yet you hesitated," Sailor Mars said. "Why did you? It's not like you to hesitate."

Sonic remained silent for a minute before sighing, burying his face in his large clawed hands.

"I...I don't know..." Sonic muttered. "I really wanted to tell her but..." he sighed once more. "...I guess I was just...scared..."

"Scared?" Chip asked.

"Yeah, scared of of showing myself to her, that she would reject and see me as a hideous monster because of my appearance," Sonic removed his hands from his face, lowering his head ins sadness. "I mean...her reaction may have been a little different this time but, I'm still not sure how she would handle it."

Suddenly, he feels a hand touch his shoulder. Sonic turns around to see Sailor Mars looking down at him pensively.

"It's okay Sonic, we understand," She said wistfully. "You're not ready to face Amy yet, so we won't force you."

"We'll give you some time until you're ready, but remember this," Sailor Mercury walks up to Sonic, smiling kindly. "You may look different on the outside, but on the inside, you're still you."

Sonic smiles at them. "Thanks guys, I really appreciate it."

The Inner Senshi, including Chip, smile at him in return. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! All of a sudden, they heard the sound of beeping. Looking down at left her wrist, Mercury saw that her communicator wrist watch was buzzing. The Soldier of Mercury answers it and hears Tails' voice speaking through it.

"Guys, did you find Sonic?"

Mercury nods. "Yes, we found him sitting on one of the rooftops."

"Really?! That's great!"

"Oh, and Tails," Mercury began. "Since we couldn't access the Gaia Temple here in Spagonia, we're heading off towards Holoska to find the Temple there. We'll be waiting for you by the Tornado."

"Okay, I'm on my way!"

Nodding, Sailor Mercury hangs up.

"So, we're headin' off to Holoska next?" Sonic asked.

"That's right," Mercury turns to smile at him. "And since it's night time here in Spagonia, there's a likely chance that it's day time in Holoska, meaning that it'll work in your favor."

The werehog seemed enlightened by this. "What are we waiting for?! Let's get a move on!"

Wasting no time, Sonic quickly jumps off the rooftop and stretches his arms to swing from building to building, with the others not being to far behind.

Professor Pickle's Lab...

In the lab, Amy and Professor Pickle are sitting across from each other, with a plate of cucumber sandwiches on the table. The professor just finished explaining to the pink hedgehog on what happened to Sonic, the situation with Dark Gaia, and why the girls are here on Mobius.

"Oh, I see..." Amy said. "So that's what happened to Sonic, and why the girls are here in our home world."

"That's right," said Professor Pickle, picking up a cucumber sandwich. "Thankfully, one of the planet's pieces is put back into place thanks to them. It won't be too long until the entire planet's put back together."

"Y-Yeah..." Amy muttered solemnly, lowering hear head down in shame, adopting a look of sadness and guilt, something that the professor quickly picked up on.

"Everything alright young Amy?"

"I didn't recognize him..."

The professor raised his eyebrows at this. "I'm sorry?"

"I didn't recognize him," Amy said quietly; her voice barely a whisper. "When I found him, I just assumed that he was some mere stranger, when it was actually him the entire time." she hugs her knees. "And then...when he saved me from those...monsters, he ran away the second I turned around." tears begin to build up in her eyes. "I...I can't imagine how scared he felt, how hurt he must've been when I didn't recognize him...!"

Professor Pickle stares at Amy with wide eyes. "Amy..."

The pink hedgehog closes her eyes shut, with tears dropping from them. "I-I'm such a HORRIBLE friend! What kind of person am I not being able to recognize her own friend?!"

All of a sudden, Amy gasps softly when she feels a hand touching her head. Looking up, she saw the professor pickle gently petting her, a look of sincerity and reassurance on his face.

"P-Professor...?"

Professor Pickle passes her a box of tissues. "Here young Amy, dry your eyes."

Swallowing the lump in her throat, the pink hedgehog takes the tissue box and pulls out a tissue to dry her eyes, before blowing her nose in it.

"Thank you," she said as she tossed the tissue in the trash can.

"You're very welcome," The professor nods as he sits back down.

"I...I just hope Sonic's doing okay...especially after what happened tonight..." Amy said softly, her gaze averted to the floor.

"Oh, I wouldn't worry too much about him," said Professor Pickle. "Knowing him, he'll bounce back."

Amy lifts her head to look at him. "A-Are you sure?"

The professor nods, smiling reassuringly. "Absolutely."

Amy went silent, thinking back to when she couldn't recognize Sonic and when he ran away when she turned around after she was saved from Dark Gaia's minions. It was true that Sonic was scared when she turned around. But...her of all people should know this about him: Sonic isn't the type to hold grudges or dwell on the past.

"I...I guess you're right," The pink hedgehog smiles softly, feeling a little better.

"That's the spirit young Amy!" Professor Pickle stands up. "Why don't you make yourself comfortable until Sonic and the others get back? I'll make us some tea."

Amy smiles sweetly. "That sounds wonderful."

Smiling, the professor nods as he leaves to make some tea. Once he left, Amy turns to look out the window, seeing the full moon shining brightly in the starry night sky.

"Oh Sonic...I hope you're alright..."

Holoska...

BGM: Sonic Unleashed Ost- "Holoska Hub Day"

It was a cold, bleak morning in the small village of Holoska. Some of the villagers sat at the icy cliff edge, holding fishing rods as they waited patiently for the fish to bite. Others were gathered around the fire cooking the fish that they've caught, while the kids were building snowmen, making snow angels, and having snowball fights. All of a sudden, the kids stop playing when they heard the sound of an approaching aircraft in the distance. Even the sled dogs were barking upon hearing it. The Inuit's quickly exited their igloos to see a red biplane soaring above them, getting ready to land by one of the icy cliffs that's a mile away from the village.

Once Tails landed the Tornado, Sonic immediately jumps off the plane and begins to stretch.

"Ooh, man, it's good to be back to my old self!" Sonic said, stretching his legs. "For the time being at least."

"Whew! What a rough landing." Tails sighed as he flies out the plane, with Mercury, Moon, Mars, and Venus jumping off of it.

"I thought that we were gonna crash!" said Chip, who flew out of Mercury's embrace.

Jupiter, meanwhile, remained sitting in the plane as she breathes rapidly through a paper bag that Tails had given her to keep herself from hyperventilating.

"Uh, Mako!" Sonic called out. "You can get off now! Everything's okay."

"H-Huh?" Jupiter stops breathing through the paper bag. "O-Oh...s-s-sorry..." blushing a little, the tall brunette picks herself up and jumps off of the plane, her feet crunching against the soft snow.

Sailor Moon was shivering from the icy cold weather. "Brrrrrrr~! I-I-It's s-s-so c-c-c-cold!"

"T-Tell me a-ab-bout it!" Venus agreed, also shivering. "Ohhh...this is j-just like o-our f-f-final c-confrontation with t-the D-D-Dark K-Kingdom!"

Chip, who was sticking out his tongue catching snowflakes, turns to them asking. "Dark Kingdom? What's that?"

"We'll explain later Chip," said Mercury as she takes out her Super Computer, which picks up a faint signal. "Hmmm..."

"Found something?" asked Sonic.

"Yeah, but it's faint," replied Mercury.

"Could it be the next Gaia Temple?" asked Tails.

"It could be," she closes her Super Computer. "But it's hard to say."

"Only one way to find out!" Sonic exclaimed as he stretched his legs.

ZOOM!

The blue hedgehog took off in a blue blur, leaving the others behind covered in some snow that he kicked up.

"Show off..."Jupiter muttered in a deadpan tone.

"Tell me about it..." Mars grumbled in irritation, using her fire powers to melt the snow off of her and the others. "I swear, that hedgehog's gonna be the death of me!"

"Well, we're not gonna be able to get things done just by standing around," said Tails as he begins spinning his twin-tails. "Let's get moving!"

ZOOM!

Wasting no time, the two-tailed fox flew off in a yellow blur, with Chip and the Inner Senshi following behind.

Meanwhile, with Sonic...

BGM: Sonic Unleashed Ost- "Cool Edge- Day"

"WOO-HOO~! Aww yeah, it's happenin'!" Sonic whooped happily as he sped across the snowy landscapes, feeling the cool winter breeze whipping through his blue fur. Then, his ears pricked up from hearing familiar voices calling out to him.

"SONIC!"

"Huh?" Looking over his shoulder, he sees the Inner Senshi running behind him, with Tails and Chip flying next to them.

"Heh, I was wonderin' when you guys would keep up!" Sonic quipped.

"Well, you could've at least slowed down back there!" Sailor Mars snapped, eliciting an amused chuckle from the blue blur. Sailor Mercury touched one of her earrings, making her Mercury Googles appear and begins pinpointing the Gaia Temple's location.

"The signal is a little stronger this time," said the Mercurian soldier. "My scanners say that we should keep going straight ahead."

"Okay, got it!" Sonic nodded. Seeing a lake up ahead, he accelerates to run across it while Tails and Chip fly over it. Sailor Mercury uses her ice powers to freeze the water beneath her feet, enabling her to surf across it while Mars, Jupiter, and Moon jump over the lake. Along the way, they past by a couple of sleighers, who waved at them, a long with a colony of penguins.

"Awww, look at those adorable little penguins~!" Sailor Moon cooed.

The penguins squawked as they waved at the group, including a cute little baby penguin.

The Sailor Senshi squealed. "SO CUTE~!"

Sonic and Tails laugh at their reactions.

That's when Tails looked up and gasped.

"Look out!" he called. "Robots ahead!"

They look up ahead to see Dr. Eggman's robots, along with his drones.

"Oh great," Mars groaned, rolling her eyes. "Just what we needed."

"Heh," Sonic smirked. "Time to get this snow on the road!"

"...Really? Snow?" Mars asked, incredulously.

"HA! Good one Sonic!" Venus laughed.

"Well, at least SOMEONE appreciates my humor," Sonic smirked.

"GET BENT!" Mars roared with plate eyes, shark teeth, and a comically large head. The robots and drones aim their weapons at the approaching group and begin firing.

RATATATATATATATATATATATATATATA!

Sonic, Tails, and the Sailor Senshi swerved left and right to evade the gunshots while Chip yelped as he narrowly dodges them. Smirking the blue hedgehog jumps up into the air and BOOSH! BAM! BOOSH! BOOSH! BAM! BOOSH! BAM! He unleashes a series of homing attacks at the drones. Then, he curls into a tight ball, spinning rapidly while hardening his quills. Once he landed on the ground, he shot himself forward like a bullet and shreds through the robots like a crazed buzz-saw.

"Save some for me Sonic!" yelled Tails as he was doing loop de loops in the air to avoid the robots gunfire. The two-tailed fox kit dives down and BOOSH! BOOM! BOOSH! BOOM! BOOSH! BOOM! He bashes his foes with a chain of homing attacks.

"MERCURY AQUA RHAPSODY~!" Mercury bellowed fires blasts of freezing water towards her enemies, freezing them solid and destroying them.

Sailor Mars somersaults in the air as she prepares her counter attack. "BURNING MANDALA~!"

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

"VENUS LOVE-ME CHAIN~!" Venus bellowed as she lashed out her light chain at Eggman's robots, tearing through their armor like paper.

"SILVER MOON CRYSTAL POWER KISS~!" Sailor Moon shouted, blasting the robots and drones into oblivion.

Jupiter evades the gunshots, performing a chain of acrobatic flips springing off of one hand, doing a 360° degree spin in midair as she starts charging her attack.

"SPARKLING WIDE PRESSURE~!" Jupiter yelled as she hurled bolts of lightning at her enemies, overloading their circuits until BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The robots explode into bits of metal! The brunette grins. "And THAT'S how it's done!"

"YEAH!" Venus cheered, high-fiving Jupiter.

"That was too easy!" Sonic grinned, fist bumping Tails. Just then Chip blinks as he sees something from up ahead.

"Hey, is it just me, or does that moving rock look like a huge whale?"

The other look at him in confusion.

"Huh? Chip what are you-" Sailor Moon's eyes bulge out of her sockets when she looked up ahead. "EEEEEEEEHHHHHHH?!"

"WHOA!" Sonic cried, his eyes wide.

"HOLY CRAP THAT'S A HUGE WHALE!" The fiery Miko exclaimed. Tails and Chip flew over the sea mammal while Sonic and the Sailor Senshi were running across it, getting a midair boost from the whale blowing it's blowhole.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH~!" Jupiter screamed in fear as she clutched onto Mercury tightly, who gagged.

"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA/AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH~!" Sailor Moon and Chip shrieked as they huddled each other.

"AWWW YEAH!" Sonic exclaimed happily.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Venus laughed. "THIS IS AWESOME!"

The whale let out a long bellow, as if agreeing with them before diving back down into the water. As Sonic and the Inner Senshi were soaring through the air, they suddenly flew through an icy tunnel and they slide down it.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH~!" Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury shrieked as they slide down the tunnel at breakneck speeds.

"WOO-HOO-HOO-HOO-HOO~!" Both Sonic and Venus whooped, throwing their arms in the air.

"Ugh...!" Sailor Moon moaned, her face turning a little green. "I think I'm gonna be-" her cheeks suddenly puffed out as she was on the verge of throwing up.

"Whoa! Don't you hurl on me!" Sonic cried.

"Or on me!" panicked Mars.

"BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEGH~!" The odango-haired teen wretched, facing the other way.

"EWWWWWWWWWW~!"

Sonic and the Sailor Senshi popped out of the exit of the icy tunnel and crashed into the snow.

BGM End

"Well, that was gross," said Mars.

"Ugh...I'm sorry...!" Moon groaned.

Chip bursts from the snow, shivering. "S-S-So...c-c-c-cold...!

Sonic and Sailor Venus both pop out of the snow excitedly, yelling.

"That was AWESOME!"

"YEAH!" Sonic grinned, high-fiving the athletic blond. "Who's up for round 2?!"

The other girls said nothing, they just gave him deadpanned looks that said "really?".

"Uhhh...never mind..." The blue hedgehog sweat dropped.

"GUYS!"

They all turn to see Tails flying towards them.

"Are you all okay?" asked Tails as he landed with them.

"Sure, if you don't count my stomach," Moon answered. Sonic, Chip, and the other girls shuddered while Tails sweat dropped.

"Anyways, putting THAT aside..." The twin-tailed fox kit turned to look at Mercury. "How close are we to the Gaia Temple?"

The Mercurian soldier takes out her Super Computer and picks up a much stronger signal.

"According to my readings, the Temple of Gaia is very close by," she points to an icy cave that's a few feet away from them. "It should be inside that cave."

"Yipee~!" Moon cheers, jumping into the air before running up to hug Mercury. "You did it Ami-chan!"

The blue-haired girl's face turns bright red, causing everyone around her to laugh.

"Alright, let's not waste anymore precious time, let's get a move on!" The blue hedgehog prepares to take off, but was stopped by Sailor Mars, who quickly grabbed him.

"Wait Sonic!" said the Martian Soldier.

"What the-?! What gives?!" Sonic questioned, looking a bit annoyed.

"Let me check something real quick..." Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she concentrates deeply as she taps in to her spiritual powers. She senses a powerful barrier inside of the icy cave that leads to the Temple of Gaia.

"What do you sense Rei?" Tails asked her.

"There's a powerful spiritual barrier that's inside that cave," Mars replied, opening her eyes. "We'd be fried to a crisp if we were to enter."

"Oh come on!" Venus exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air.

"Ugh, man, are you kiddin' me?!" Sonic groaned, facepalming in irritation. "We found the temple only to find out we can't enter it!"

"This stinks!" Moon kicks the snow in frustration.

Sailor Mercury sighs. "Well, we better head back to Spagonia and inform the professor." the girl-genius turns around to walk, but stops mid-step when she stepped on something metallic. Looking down, she lifts her foot and sees a key with a moon symbol that's missing the other half, lying on the snowy ground.

"Hey, what's that?" asked Chip as Mercury picks up the key.

"Strange...what's a key doing all the way out here?" inquired Mercury as she inspects the key.

"Wait a second...is that...?" Tails eyed the key until a sudden thought clicked his mind. "Ami, let me see that key!"

Nodding, the Mercurian soldier hands the two-tailed fox the key. Studying its features, Tails immediately recognized it.

"You know what it is lil' bro?" Sonic asked.

Tails nods. "Yeah, it's a key to the Gaia Temple."

Everyone's eyes go wide upon hearing this.

"A key?!" Jupiter said in shock.

"Wait, if that's a key to the Gaia Temple," a beaming smile creeps up to Sailor Moon's face. "Then that means we can access the temple here in Holoska!"

"Sweet!" Sonic grinned, high-fiving her.

"I'm afraid it's not that simple you guys." The two-tailed fox pointed out, earning confused looks from everyone.

"Huh? What do you mean?" wondered the Odango-haired blonde.

"Take a good look at the key," Tails holds out the key for everyone to look at it. "It's missing a half."

Jupiter gasps, her eyes going wide. "Y-You're right!"

"In order for us to access the Temple of Gaia, we're going to need both halves of the key," Tails explained.

"Where do you think the other half is then?" Chip asked the twin-tailed fox, who sighed.

"I don't know," He puts the key away. "Anyways, lets head back to Spagonia and report to the professor."

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR~!

"EEK!" Venus yelped. "W-What was that?!"

Chip moans, holding his stomach. "Oooooooh, soooo hungry~!"

"Need..food...noooooowwww~!" Moon groans with him.

Everyone else sweat drops at this.

"Oh, you two..." Mercury murmured, sweat dropping.

Jupiter chuckles. "Alright, how about I make us some lunch once he head back to Spagonia?"

Chip and Sailor Moon both look at the tall brunette with starry eyes, their mouths watering. "REALLY?!"

"Of course!" The brunette winked.

The Odango-haired teen squealed as she bolts up to her fiend and envelops her friend into a bone crushing hug. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!"

"OOMPH! U-Usgai-chan...I a-a-appreciate t-the gratitude...! But...I can't...breathe...!" Jupiter wheezed, her face turning blue.

Moon gasped as she released her, allowing her to breathe. "I-I'm sorry!" she bows repeatedly.

Everyone around her laughs.

Spagonia, Professor Pickle's Lab...

Upon hearing the doors open, Amy and Professor Pickle turn around to see the Inner Senshi, Tails, and Chip entering the lab.

"Hey professor, we're back!" Moon greeted.

"Ah, welcome back!" the professor smiled in acknowledgement.

"GIRLS!" Amy squealed as she runs up to them and tackles them in a hug. "I can't believe it's you!"

Venus laughed as she hugged her. "It's good to see you Amy-chan!"

"Long time no see, Amy-chan!" Jupiter said, hugging the pink hedgehog.

"It's been too long!" The pink-hedgehog giggled, pulling away from the group hug until she notices Chip. "And who is this?"

"Oh, this is our new friend, Chip." Tails answered.

"Want some chocolate?" Chip offered, pulling out a chocolate bar.

"Oh, why thank you!" Amy smiles as she takes the chocolate.

"Okay, seriously, where does he keep them?" Sailor Mars thought, sweat dropping.

"Hey...Amy-chan," Mercury called out to the pink hedgehog.

"Hmm?" Amy hummed, turning to look at her.

"There's...someone that wants to speak with you."

Amy blinks in confusion. Everyone moves out of the way to reveal Sonic standing behind them, the latter in his Werehog form.

Amy gasps. "S-Sonic...!"

"H-Hey Amy..." The Werehog said awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "L-Listen...I...I just wanna say-."

Without warning, the pink hedgehog flung herself forward and enveloped the Werehog into a tight hug, burying her face in his furry chest.

"A-Amy...?!"

"I'm sorry..." Amy whispered.

Sonic's eyes go wide. "H-Huh?"

"I'm so sorry I didn't recognize you, at first!" Amy exclaimed. "Please, please, forgive me, Sonic! I should have known!"

A tense silence falls between the two. The Werehog looks down at the pink hedgehog for what felt like hours until he wraps his huge fury arms around her, returning the hug.

"It's okay Amy," Sonic whispered, hugging her back. "I'm sorry for running away from you earlier."

Everyone smiled warmly at the sight while Professor Pickle chuckled.

"Jolly good," he said

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR~!

Sonic blushed when he heard his stomach growl. "Uh-oh..."

Amy laughs at this. "Sonic!"

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR~!

Chip and Sailor Moon clutched their grumbling stomachs.

"I'm really hungry...!" Chip moaned.

"Me too...!" Moon moaned with him.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR~!

Soon enough, everyone's stomachs start growling.

"O-Oh dear," said Mercury, blushing a bit.

Tails laughs sheepishly. "Looks like we're all hungry, huh?"

Jupiter smiles as she rolls her shoulder. "Well, guess that's my cue to start cooking."

Sailor Moon and Chip's faces almost immediately lit up at this. "YAHOO~!"

Sometime later...

GOBBLE! GOBBLE! MUNCH! CRUNCH! SLURP! GOBBLE! SLURP!

Chip, Venus, Sonic, and Sailor Moon were all stuffing them themselves with the sandwiches that Jupiter had made for them and everyone else. Bread crumbs could be seen flying everywhere.

"Whoa, whoa, slow down you guys!" exclaimed Tails.

"And leave some for the rest of us!" barked Sailor Mars while Amy, Jupiter, and Mercury sweat dropped, laughing nervously at their poor table manners. Professor Pickle takes a bite out of his sandwich

"I must say, this is the most delicious, most delectable things that has gone down my esophagus I have ever tasted!" he commented, earning a small laugh from the tall brunette, the latter blushing a little from the compliment.

"Mako-chan's cooking is one of the best in the world!" The Odango-haired proclaimed with her mouthful.

"Yeah! It rocks! "Sonic agreed, his mouth also full.

"Usagi-chan! Sonic! Swallow!" The raven-haired Miko scolded, causing the duo to swallow and smile sheepishly.

"Sorry..."

"My bad..."

Professor Pickle chuckles in amusement. "Alright, now back on topic," he turns to look at Tails. "Were you able to find the Gaia Temple in Holoska."

"Well, we were, but we couldn't access it," Tails replied. "But we did find this."

The twin-tailed fox pulled out the Gaia key and showed it to the professor.

"Amazing! You found one of the ancient Gaia keys!" Professor Pickle gasped in amazement.

"That's right," Tails nodded, putting the key away. "But it's missing the other half, and without it-"

"You won't be able to access the Temples of Gaia," the professor finished. "Luckily for you all, I managed to pinpoint another Gaia Temple location."

Everyone perked up at this.

"You did? Where?" asked Mercury.

"The manuscripts say that a temple lies somewhere in Chun-Nan," Professor Pickle explained. "Now, make haste! And restore the power to the Chaos Emerald!"

"Yes sir!" Wasting no time, our heroes rushed out of the lab and headed to the Tornado to fly to Chun-Nan.

Earth, Tokyo, 9: 37 P.M...

In the bedroom, a little girl with short black hair and pale skin was lying on her bed, tossing and turning with a strained look on her face, sweat dripping down her forehead and her breath slightly ragged. Her name was Hotaru Tomoe, AKA: Sailor Saturn, The Guardian of Silence. Several images of Dark Gaia emerging from Mobius's core flashed through her mind.

"N-No...no...!" Hotaru whimpered. Another image in her mind showed Sonic, Chip, and the Inner Senshi facing Dark Gaia.

The beast roared, opening its massive jaws...and then clamped down.

"AAH!" Hotaru shrieked as she sat up. She pants heavily, looking around while momentarily disoriented. Her body was soaked in cold sweat and her clammy hands trembled in fear and horror. Barging into the room came Setsuna Meiou, otherwise known as Sailor Pluto, the Guardian of Space and Time.

"Hotaru-chan, is everything alright?!" Setsuna quickly kneeled down in front of the frightened child. "I heard you screaming!"

Hotaru didn't answer, she just kept panting, looking at her trembling hands, much to the green-haired woman's concern.

"Hotaru-chan...?

Swallowing the lump in her throat, Hotaru finally spoke, in a quiet shaky voice.

"I...I had...a-a nightmare...!"

Setsuna gets up and sits down on the bed next to her. "...What was it about?" she asked gently, concern lacing her voice.

"I...I don't want to talk about it," Hotaru replied. She clutched her blankets. "It was...s-so...a-awful...!"

Setsuna looks down at the frightened girl with sympathy. "Oh Hotaru-chan..." she opens up her arms. "...Come here."

Hotaru wastes no time and flew into her mother-figure's arms, squeezing her tightly. Setsuna rubs soothing circles on her back, shushing her as Hotaru sobbed in her bosom. As she consoles the little girl, the Guardian of Space and Time looked out of the window, a look of solemnity on her face.

'Usag-chan...Ami-chan...everyone. Wherever you are...please make it home safe...'
