After 148 Favorites, 190 Followers and almost 12k views, My Hero Breaker is one year old!… Time does go fast and I never expected this story to grow this much compared to the other Toaru x MHA crossovers.
I hope you've all been doing well these passing months. I finally got enough time to write this chapter, although I have to say that it isn't checked on grammar by an editor. So apologies in advance if this chapter has grammar mistakes. I will probably fix this in a few weeks.
Special thanks to Craythelay (for giving feedback on the story) and Vasto-Lorde-Ash-Ketchum for making the new cover art of My Hero Breaker! Leave a review to let us know what you think of the new cover.
Now to the reviews.
calderoneric758: Enough said indeed.
GG Vegito: I'm sorry you had to wait for so long. My job and school have top priority but I'll try to update as fast as I can. I hope this chapter will show the fight you wanted :)
Kamijou Touma1: There are also enough other people who don't update for a year. I'm doing this story as a hobby and that causes slow updates.
Spartastic 4: Kirishima and Sogiita are definitely the best combination. You also gave me some interesting ideas for future characters so do look forward to that!
LoneVirgo98: Sorry you had to wait this long and thank you for the compliments. As for now, this universe has only quirks, but something does seem quite different with Imagine Breaker and what lays beyond.
Anonymous Pyrus: I do plan on more interactions with Accel and Bakugo. You also have good suggestions for meetups, so I will take them in consideration.
LaGeTEd: There is only one IB.
Guest 1: It's very obvious yes xD.
thorion2281: You have a valid point. I think I will write about the religious response to the quirk in a later arc. Thank you for the encouraging words.
Anime Crossovers: Nice to know you've noticed! There's only one Imagine Breaker.
Vasto-Lorde-Ash-Ketchum: Thank you for making the cover for this story. I really appreciate it and I hope the others will also like it.
RandomAlchemist: Yes.
JCarrasco: Whenever I have time, I will. Thank you!
htessyasih: Definitely Sogiita!
I want to thank you all for the reviews! They really help me to get the story right and also to inspire me.
Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia or Toaru Majutsu no Index. Both belong to their respective owners.
"Attack on our base at this point… is unavoidable."
As dawn broke, inside of a secret room, the top four members of the Shie Hassaikai had gathered for a meeting.
On a rather expensive couch sat Chisaki Kai, also known as Overhaul, the current head of the Shie Hassaikai. He was wearing his distinctive plague mask and had his arms crossed. On his left and right side stood two other members.
On his right stood the man named Kurono Hari, with his alternate name being Chronostasis. A rather tall man, wearing a long white raincoat with the hood kept up. He was also wearing his own plague mask, being black with golden trim. He was the assistant of Overhaul and also helped with the communications inside of the Shie Hassaikai.
On the left of Overhaul, leaning over the table, stood a creature of short stature. He wore a full black bodysuit and a white plague mask was sewn over his face, making it appear as if the creature had no face. His name was Irinaka Joi, better known as Mimic. He posed as the general manager of the Shie Hassaikai.
And finally in front of them, on a folding chair, sat the last member of the Yakuza's administration. Kamiya Hassan, also known as 'The Jaw' of the Shie Hassaikai. A rather normal-looking boy in a rumpled suit, with black slicked-back hair and a bicolored eye. His arms were crossed and his back almost perfectly vertical. He handled some of the internal and external affairs and was responsible for the meeting between the Shie Hassaikai and the League of Villains.
"It wouldn't matter if we were attacked. With our resources, we can still keep the anti-quirk production running. At some point we will have it developed to such perfection, that we can slowly erode Japan and later the world to our will." Overhaul coldly remarked to the boy on the folding chair.
The person on the folding chair glared at the young Yakuza boss.
"It wouldn't matter? If they attack, then there would be almost no place for us to hide. It's a huge bloody loss!" The worked up Jaw sighed. "You should have done what I suggested and 'loosened' the tendons of that girl. That way she can't run away again and you can fix it again with your 'handy' ability."
The two Yakuza members on the Overhaul's side began to tense up, but before they could protest Overhaul spoke up.
"And my answer is still the same. Although we're using her biological material for the drug, we also have to make sure she cooperates as much as possible. That's why that incompetent fool, that let her go, lost his upper half."
"I don't care how many incompetent fools you kill. If you use her as a resource, then treat her as such." The stone-faced boy bluntly stated.
Even without seeing half of his face because of the doctor mask, the young Yakuza head was visibly displeased.
"You really should know when to shut the hell up. After all, she's still related to the boss."
"Hah! That's rich coming from you." The young boy laughed. "If your ability was the 'real deal' you could have gotten the Boss out of that coma."
It was after the Jaw finished speaking, that both the man in the white raincoat and the small man in the full-body suit reached out for their firearms inside their pockets. They however didn't pull them out yet.
"What are you suggesting here Jaw?" Chronostasis calmly spoke up. "Because this sounds awfully close to accusing Overhaul of betrayal..."
The black-haired boy crossed his arms and hung his head forward.
"...Hassan, we have both gone through a lot in the past three years. And even though we disagree a lot, your information network has been very important to the Shie Hassaikai. However, if you accuse me of betrayal I doubt this working relationship can hold out for much longer. So tell us…" Overhaul folded his hands together and put one finger inside the entrance of his glove. "What are you implying here?"
The boy nicknamed 'Jaw' then looked up, straight into Overhaul's small golden eyes.
"Hehe, of course I'm not making accusations here!" The boy said as he sheepishly laughed the threat off. The tension in the room began to lessen. "The last thing we need right now is internal conflicts. But seeing as you finally gave me deserved praise, it certainly helped to lighten up my mood today! Hahaha!"
Toxic green and shocking pink-like muscles began to envelop his lower face and formed into a crocodile-shaped jaw. His similar colored eye looked directly towards Overhaul.
"So let's give any uninvited guests that dare to come, a very warm welcome..." The person with the bicolored jaw looked away. "...Boss."
In the same underground complex, there was a dark room. Despite being full of many expensive colorful children's toys, the room was devoid of color.
On the large bed, a young girl with bluish-silver hair rolled up under her bedsheets.
Just a couple of days ago she was walking and taking in the view of the bright colors that the sun provided. No matter what position the girl tried to lay, she still couldn't calm down from that experience.
Her thoughts constantly went back to two boys in particular that wanted to help her. A high school boy with spiky black hair and a young hero with green-black hair.
She had first met the spiky-haired boy. While trying to run away from this world of darkness, that boy was the first source of light in her life for what felt like ages. She had asked him for help, in hopes to escape her situation… and that boy did it with a smile.
She pulled the blanket closer.
She did what he asked and ran as fast as she could. She ran away from him while leaving him alone with a monster. And just when she was about to leave that alley, she bumped into the second boy.
Dressed in a hero's outfit, he was the first person to touch her head that didn't hurt her. It brought her comfort.
However, it was then when the monster reappeared. She didn't want to go back to that darkness, she didn't want to go back to another lab, she didn't want to be touched by him… She wanted to be saved.
"Come with me, or else these heroes will also end up like that spiky-haired boy."
This sentence from that monster was still haunting inside her head. From her own desperation to be saved, she was responsible for killing someone. The boy that wanted to save her… wasn't saved.
And because of that, she had no choice but to go back with him.
After agreeing to go back with the darkness of the alleyway, a member walked up to them with a bloodied shoe in his hand. The same shoe the spiky-haired boy was wearing.
'It's my fault.' The girl thought. 'It's all my fault, I shouldn't have run. If I didn't, that boy… would still be alive.'
She curled up further in her blanket.
'But still! I still wanted to be saved! I wanted those heroes to be saved! I wanted everyone to be saved! I…' The girl thought, while tears rolled down her face. "I wanted that boy to be saved!"
However, no one could see nor hear her, in this dark underground room devoid of color.
In one of the break rooms in the main base of the Shie Hassaikai, a young Yakuza member with blond hair sat deep in thought. He was assigned by his employer, Kamiya Hassan, to deliver a briefcase in a certain room.
However, the fresh Yakuza member, known as Hamazura Shiage, didn't have his mind set on the assignment.
Violent confrontations, constant fear of danger, the scary young Yakuza boss, his employer's betrayal to the organization he just joined... And the cherry on top was the imminent attack of the Heroes on this very underground base he was in.
Although his jobs came with its perks, Hamazura had constantly questioned if this was really his place. Should he tell Overhaul about Kamiya's betrayal? Should he go with Kamiya and betray this organization? Should he run away from it all?
He sighed.
He really didn't have anyone to talk with him about this. He ran away from his family, so they weren't an option. His old gang of small-time thieves wouldn't want to be involved with the Yakuza. And the Yakuza that he was only a short-time member of might be, according to Kamiya, destroyed either today or tomorrow... This truly was the end of the line.
The boy in his late teens grabbed the suitcase and went onward to the room he was supposed to deliver it. It seemed that, despite the situation, Kamiya was in a good mood after his meeting with Overhaul and gave him a task to deliver this suitcase to his personal room. While that wasn't a thrilling job, it still made Hamazura nervous. Either because it was his employer's personal room or that he said it in such a good mood.
Before Hamazura knew it, he was finally at this destination. When he opened the door, with a shrieking sound, he saw a rather small room. It only had a bed, a desk full of paperwork, and one wall filled to the brim with combat knives.
There wasn't even a closet and Hamazura theorized that Kamiya was probably always wearing the same suit. The wall full of knives however made him feel uncomfortable. Mainly because, at this point, he had never seen Kamiya with a weapon before.
'If he was carrying knives then where could he hide them…' Hamazura thought as he put the suitcase on the bed. Unbeknownst to him, the suitcase began to make a ticking sound.
"Huh? What is this?" He asked himself as he walked up to the desk.
On the desk lay a couple of notes which looked like a collection of documents of character profiles. Having a quick look at it, Hamazura saw some pictures. The ones that got his attention were Sasaki Mirai, Takami Keigo and a very strange name that was written in some kind of Latin. On the picture related to the strange Latin name was a nun in white habits.
'Isn't Takami Keigo the name of Hawks, the second ranked hero? And thit picture is of All Might's past sidekick? Why does mister Kamiya have this in his notes… and do I even want to know?' The boy thought while getting uncomfortable.
Hamazura then came across a document with the name "Kokuda Taneo" and was marked with a red X. On the picture was a man with similar glasses that Kamiya was wearing right now.
'This one has a red X… and those glasses… Could it be?!'
Hamazura shook his head.
All this time that he had been next to the Jaw, he was actually in constant danger. He knew that much. But now, it seemed that his employer was much more dangerous than he initially thought.
"What the hell am I doing…"
Hamazura had enough about this situation and he quickly walked out of the room.
'Should I get out of here immediately? Or would that be too suspicious? But if I go out the normal way, I might get arrested as soon as I step out of here by heroes! Crap, I don't know... Damn it, what the hell should I do?!'
It was while he was lost in his thoughts that he heard a loud metallic noise inside the closed room to his right. This completely pulled him back to reality. The sound itself was as if someone had impacted against a metal closet and was confirmed when he heard a person complaining about 'his bad luck'.
Hamazura walked straight towards the room to check who it was.
"A what the hell, that hurt!"
A boy with spiky hair complained as he had just hit his head against the ventilation shaft that he had come out of a few hours ago.
After he had crawled for almost the whole night inside the ventilations shafts, he had been resting for a few hours. He used his screwdriver to open the ventilation gate from the inside and crawling inside the dirty ventilation shaft for a kilometer was a hell of its own. Multiple times he had spider webs stuck in his face and the agonizing pain from his dislocated arm also didn't help.
The first thing the spiky-haired boy did, when he was finally out of the confined space, was to reduce his dislocated arm. From his uncle the boy had learned the so-called 'BHM technique', which allowed him to reduce his shoulder by himself. In the amount of times that Kamijou had used this technique, he could never be accustomed to the popping sound when his shoulder got reduced. After this ordeal he ate and drank a bit, before resting for a few hours. After all, he could barely move from exhaustion. And just after he awoke he had hit his head.
"Such misfortune." The spiky-haired boy sighed.
"Is everything alright in there?"
"…!" Kamijou tensed up and stopped moving.
Just outside the door Kamijou Touma could hear the voice of a young man.
A second later, to the misfortunate boy's surprise, the door was opened.
Hamazura, without putting much thought into it, opened the door of the storage room he had heard sounds from.
Inside the room, he saw a young man. The young man had black spiky hair and was wearing a black jacket and dark blue jeans. His face was covered with bandages, looking somewhat like a mummy, and could only see his grayish-blue eyes. From what he had seen with the other masks within the Shie Hassaikai, the young man didn't look out of the ordinary. Usually it was because of someone's quirk or villain status that they looked like this.
He then noted that the man was holding a damaged screwdriver and was next to a broken ventilation gate.
"Ah, you must be the one fixing the gate." The blonde assumed. "But I have never seen your face before… Are you perhaps also a recent recruit?"
The thought that this person had crawled out of the ventilation shaft never came to Hamazura's mind. The secrecy of the base and the fact that the ventilation shaft was quite small in size, made Hamazura unable to make that crucial link at this moment.
The perplexed spiky-haired man had dots for eyes.
"Eh… Yeah! This is my first day. A-and I was tasked with fixing the gate!" The spiky-haired man stumbled.
'He's probably not very social. However he sounds tired, he must have been working all night.' Hamazura thought.
"Heh, it seems I'm not the only one that has it difficult." The blonde dramatically muttered.
"What?"
"Ah, sorry. Don't take it the wrong way. It's just that I'm having a hard time…"
"So you too, huh? Did it happen recently?"
"It...actually did. I'm only here for almost a week and I've already seen some things of this underworld that I really didn't want to see."
"Tell me about it, I also have had a rough couple of days. It started with a girl called Eri-" The bandaged man stopped mid-sentence.
"Eri?..." The blonde yakuza member questioned while crossing his arms. "The daughter of Overhaul? Don't tell me…"
The spiky-haired man swallowed his saliva, while tightly holding on to the damaged screwdriver.
"You too?!" The blonde exclaimed while looking pleasantly surprised. "I also met her with Overhaul. It was so scary. Did you meet her while fixing her vent gate? It wouldn't be too surprising, since her room is closeby."
"Eh… yeah, something close to that." The spiky-haired boy sheepishly accepted while scratching the back of his head.
"Haha, you really made my day!" The blonde laughed as he finally found someone to share his frustration with. "We haven't even introduced ourselves. I'm Hamazura Shiage."
"I'm Kami...sato." The man that identified himself as 'Kamisato' answered.
"It was nice meeting you Kamisato! I probably have to go now, my employer must be waiting for me. Let's talk another… time…" The blonde felt silent as he remembered that this base would be attacked at any moment.
The man with the bandaged face was about to continue closing the vent gate.
"One more thing." The spiky-haired man stopped moving once more. "Make sure you go home earlier today… See you later."
Hamazura then left the storage room, while feeling that some weight had been relieved from his shoulder. However it was not the end of his troubles.
His assignment was to leave the suitcase in Kamiya's room and afterwards report back and assist Kamiya in defending the base. However he was feeling that this was his very last chance to escape from this place. But after meeting with the bandaged Kamisato, he felt bad for leaving him behind. Maybe there were more like Kamisato in this underground complex. Should he go to those similar people and convince them to run away?
"Oh! If it isn't Hamazura." A very tall and muscular man with a birdlike mask greeted the young bonde. "It's good to see you're still alive. How have you been."
"Eh?! Oh, hello mister Rappa." The blond teen greeted back. "Y-yeah, I'm still alive… surprisingly enough."
"Haha! That is quite the accomplishment! I had to work with that Jaw bastard once, and he ran away while I was almost arrested."
"What? He did that?"
"That also partially happened because you wanted to fight." A calm priest with a birdlike facemask joined in. "And hello young man, it seems my prayer has kept you alive."
"Ah mister Tengai… You prayed for me? Does Kamiya have that bad of a reputation?"
"He started being an ass when the Boss got into a coma." The large muscled man noted.
"Jaw was in constant disagreement when Overhaul became the leader. Now he almost never bothers going to meetings anymore and just delivers the information." Tengai continued. "He's also difficult to work with but at least his information is always reliable. It almost seems like he can read people's thoughts, sometimes... In any case, he's the reason why everyone today is ready for an attack. So at least he has some use."
'So this is what Kamiya ment. It must have been frustrating for him to constantly have disagreements with Overhaul… At least he will give the Shie Hassaikai a heads up, so that everyone will be prepared for the hero attack…
"Wait... everyone?" Hamazura suddenly questioned
'If everyone, including me, was told to be in a position to defend… Then why wasn't that Kamisato guy?'
"What's the matter Hamazura?" Rappa asked while leaning over the teen.
"I just met someone called 'Kamisato' and he was fixing the vent gate in the storage room. If everyone is prepared for an attack then that means tasks like that are cancelled, right?
"Hmmm… I don't think we have any recent members by that name..." The calm man wondered. "Don't worry about it. If it's one person, I doubt he'll do much."
"I hope he's strong! Otherwise he won't last long enough for me to fight him!" The tall man jumped in. "Thanks for telling us, Hamazura! Don't forget to give those heroes hell if they show up." The 'sword' told Hamazura while walking away with the 'shield'.
Both Yakuza members were now going to their designated location to ambush the heroes.
"..."
Hamazura meanwhile, was perplexed.
The bandaged person, that made his day better, wasn't a member of the Shie Hassaikai... And worst of all, he gave him information and let him go…
His stress began to peak again.
He put both hands on his blonde head and almost pulled his hair out.
"I… have to get out of here..."
After these few harrowing days, today was the day. The day, not only Midoriya Izuku had been waiting for. Hado Nejire, Amajiki Tamaki, Uraraka Ochaco, Asui Tsuyu, Kirishima Eijiro and especially Togata Mirio had all been nervously waiting for this.
The raid on the Shie Hassaikai.
Right now it was almost 8:30 AM, the time that was given to commence this operation.
"Once they've read the warrant, charge in!" The voice of the chief police officer was heard.
Right now, a large crowd of pro-heroes and police officers stood in front of the main building of the Yakuza.
"I'm counting on everyone to move swiftly."
The boy in the light-green hero suit, grinded his teeth.
Midoriya would finally get the chance to redeem himself. Not only for the girl that he couldn't save, but also his classmate that he injured. Mirio felt the same way on this matter as he was as highly motivated as ever.
He wasn't sure how the raid would go, but in any case he would give everything he had to redeem himself. Midoriya could only hope this would go swiftly.
As he thought this however, the main gate of the Yakuza estate was breached open. A behemoth of a man had suddenly revealed himself as several officers were blasted away. Midoriya quickly activated his quirk to catch one of the officers that had taken flight. The others were catched by either the big belly of the hero Fat Gum, or by the silk-like scarf of his teacher Aizawa.
"Are you all right?" Midoriya asked the officer, who he caught mid air.
"I-I'm okay, thanks for the help." The officer, shocked by the sudden fight, thanked as he tried to calm down.
"What do you want?" The large behemoth, with a bird-like mask, asked. "Bringing all these people so early in the morning…"
He was a huge, tall and muscular man wearing a black tank-top and sneakers. On his arms he wore massive metal gauntlets and knuckle-dusters.
"Wait, they did already notice us?!" One of the pro-heroes asked in panic.
"Forget about that, let's just all hold them back together!" Another pro-hero answered as he pulled out his weapon.
"I feel a little more awake now. Jeez…" The behemoth spoke as his right arm began to grow in muscle seize.
"Get back!"
"WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT?!" The behemoth screamed as he pulled off a powerful punch.
A big dust cloud enveloped the many police officers and pro-heroes. The impact was so powerful that the officers had to hold on to each other to not fall over.
When the dust settled a massive dragon, even taller than the behemoth, had stopped the attack with her iron claw.
"Anyway, we shouldn't split up our forces here. Ryukyu Agency will take care of him!" The massive dragon with blond hair informed, as she pinned the behemoth to the ground. Hado Nejire, Uraraka Ochaco and Asui Tsuyu appeared behind Ryuko Tatsuma and they got ready to support her. "The rest of you go now, while you have the chance!"
The other pro-heroes and officers took no time to hesitate as they all began to rush into the estate.
"It's the heroes and the police! We have a warrant to search your premises on suspicion of the manufacture and sale of illegal drugs!"
A battle began to brew against the other yakuza members as well. Even with the arrest warrant they stubbornly resisted.
"Midoriya, let's go!" Mirio told Midoriya as they both began to make their way inside.
They were accompanied by Fat Gum, Kirishima, Sir Nighteye, Eraser Head and multiple police officers.
"Right!" Midoriya answered.
'Eri, wait for us. This time, we'll definitely save you!' both Midoriya and Mirio thought in unison as they both went into the estate.
"...I can hear it faintly. The sound of a large number of people running in the same direction." The Shie Hassaikai member Chronostasis noted as he looked up to the ceiling. "Which means they know where they want to go… They probably already know where this place is, too."
"It happened sooner than I thought it would. We cannot be found right now." Overhaul admitted while walking to a certain room. "Let's make it the story that they violently acted on their own. That's what those pieces were groomed for."
"The Eight Bullets of the Hassai Group… With the support of Mimic and Jaw." Chronostasis answered.
"While they're buying time for us, we'll take Eri and everything with her and hide her away completely…" Said Overhaul while scratching his cheek. "I just can't help being suspicious of Hassan. He agreed to help Mimic way too easily."
"Should we have placed him somewhere else?"
"It's already too late for that… With him acting obediently, the other members will follow his example. And knowing him, he would probably like to steal someone's glasses again… before the stabbing."
The two men both arrived at their destination.
"Now, let us waste no more time." Overhaul said as he opened the door.
While still rolled up on her bed, the small girl with bluish-white hair could hear someone opening the door.
Who would it be this time? Would it be that monster? Or would it be the new caretaker with another toy?
"Come Eri," a deep voice that Eri didn't want to be familiar with, ordered. "We're going."
It was the monster after all.
"...Yes." The small girl reluctantly but obediently answered and went towards him.
Then the man with the bird beaked mask lifted up the small girl and carried her on his shoulder.
Where would she be carried this time? Would he operate the leg this time? Or the arm?
While they were walking in silence, Eri noticed that they weren't going in the usual direction. The long underground tunnels might be confusing at first, but when you live here for a few years it becomes familiar. However she didn't know if this was a good thing or a bad thing.
It was then, while she was still being carried, that she suddenly heard the footsteps of Overhaul and Chronostasis sound different…and louder?
Over the shoulder of Overhaul she looked down and noticed that this part of the floor was covered in a small layer of water.
"Who the hell left this water here?" Overhaul asked while irritated. "He better pray he's arrested today."
Both men then suddenly stopped walking and Eri came to understand why.
The sound was just faint, but just above them they could hear the sound of something being dragged. It came from inside the ventilation shaft.
In response, a white arrow-shaped object came from under the hood of Chrono. The arrow pierced the ventilation shaft and it seemed to have hit something.
When the white arrow, connected to Chrono's head, was retrieved it revealed a leaking water bottle with a string attached to it.
"What is this?!" asked the white hooded yakuza member.
Eri meanwhile also couldn't figure out what was going on. Was someone pulling the water bottle in the vent?
The three of them didn't know that the one pulling the string was just behind one of the doors of the hallway. That one person had his eyes closed and was holding a damaged screwdriver close to two destroyed cables.
A third sudden sound, of electricity, was heard and all the lights on the floor turned off.
Eri's eyes, that were used to the light, could only see pitch black.
"A short circuit?!"
"Don't worry, the backup circuits should be on soon."
Out of nowhere Eri heard footsteps running towards her.
Overhaul tried to react by turning himself towards the sound and swiped blindly with his arm.
The swing didn't connect, and in return Overhaul was hit. His grip around Eri was loosened and Eri felt that this unknown person had now grabbed her.
Then the lights came back on.
Right before Eri, only a few centimeters away from her face, was Overhaul's hand with the white glove. The hand of the monster that had put her in this darkness for so long.
Right now, someone was carrying her away from that hand.
Right now, the distance between her and Overhaul became larger.
"Huh?! The light is back on already?!"
The girl with bluish-white hair turned her head towards the familiar voice and saw black, spiky hair.
"Are you okay, Eri?" A rough but reassuring voice asked her.
Words couldn't leave her mouth.
The spiky-haired boy she had met was alive after all! The uncomfortable guilt she had felt just so shortly ago was now replaced with emotions of relief. She began to hold him tightly, as a way to confirm that he was real.
He was real! She didn't care how. Right now she was just happy that the boy didn't die because of her and he was caring away from the darkness.
"Y-you're alive!" Eri finally answered to the spiky-haired boy that was carrying her.
It was then however, that the sound of a gun was heard.
The spiky-haired boy released a suppressed groan as he began to slow down.
Eri looked over the spiky-haired boy's shoulder and saw Chronostasis aiming his gun and she also… saw a red cartridge, stuck in the spiky-haired boy's shoulder.
Without pause, the white arrow came out from under Chronostasis' hood again.
Without looking, the spiky-haired boy dodged the arrow-shaped object. To his surprise however the arrow made a u-turn and with quick thinking the boy dodged sideways. The arrow had only scratched the boy's left arm.
When the boy tried to continue running, he suddenly felt his movements slowing down to a crawl.
"Just give up, you can't use your quirk and you've been hit by my quirk!"
The Yakuza boss calmly walked towards the boy and the small girl.
Was this how it would end? Even after this revelation, this boy would still go down?
The boy's grip around Eri began to loosen, was he giving up?
Overhaul then put off his white gloves and, in the same movement, touched the ground. The ground was transformed into a hellish landscape of broken rocks and sharp spikes moving towards the boy.
The spiky-haired boy quickly grabbed his wound with his right hand and, at the moment he touched it, a high pitched sound of breaking glass was heard. He could now move with the same speed as before. While still holding Eri with his left arm he turned around and, with the same high pitch sound, he blocked the incoming stone spikes of the monster.
Touma backed off to a safe position and was now in a stalemate against the two Yakuza members.
"A quirk able to disable my quirk with a mere touch… So, it really is the same boy from the alleyway." Overhaul stated as he wiped away the dust. "And here I believed Hassan did his job… You don't strike me as someone who is working with the heroes. Tell me, are you by chance part of a Dark Side organisation?
"Well, you got the hero part spot on." Kamijou Touma informed as he wiped away the blood off his left arm.
"There is no way he infiltrated our base of his own. His associates might be closeby." Chronostasis theorised as he catched up.
'If only they knew.' Kamijou thought as he nervously chuckled.
"It also seems the Quirk-Destroying Drug is somehow not working on you."
"Wait, what? Is that what the gun shoots?" The spiky-haired boy asked as he casually pulled the cartridge out of his shoulder.
Overhaul and Chrono glanced at each other.
"So you didn't even know that? Let me tell you something boy, you have a very particular power but right now you are in a disadvantageous position. So if you just let go of the girl and walk away, we'll all forget what happened today and carry on." Overhaul proposed as he pointed towards the exit.
Eri then realized the situation she and the boy were in. They both were isolated against two monsters and the boy's survival was indeed in question. With all the bandages he already had around his face, it was obvious he was already wounded before coming here. And while she was happy that he is alive and tried to save her… She couldn't help to be scared that the boy would perish.
The girl looked at the small wound on the boy's left arm that held her.
He was here because of her and if he were to perish… It would still be her fault.
The girl squeezed the boy's jacked.
She wanted to speak up and accept this proposal. This way, at least this boy would be saved.
"...Are you seriously proposing that?!" Kamijou spat out while he grinded his teeth. "You want me to walk away knowing that you will continue torturing this girl?!"
The girl widened her eyes in shock.
"You refuse? Do you even realize what kind of situation you are in?" The white hooded man asked.
"I do realize that you two aren't in a good situation either." The face-bandaged boy pointed out as a shockwave from the upper levels was felt. "In fact, I bet you only made that offer because of what is happening upstairs. Time is on my side, so until then I will protect Eri!"
"But… But why?!" The small girl in Kamijou's arm asked him with a trembling voice. "You could die because of me!"
Tears rolled down as she squeezed his jacket.
"Why?... Why would you go this far for me?"
The spiky-haired boy kneeled down and gently put the bluish-silver haired girl on the ground.
"Because I just want to save you." He exclaimed as he put his right arm in front of her in a defencive stance.
"So not only did you come here on your own, you aren't even a hero… You truly are a fool." Overhaul insulted as he calmly walked around Kamijou to surround him.
"You are the one that is a true fool! Aren't you the one that is actually hurting a girl for some useless gain?!"
"Such ignorance, you don't know anything about what we are doing here."
"And I don't care what your reason would be, even if it is something stupid like conquering the world. You're still willing to hurt others, even an innocent girl! And if for whatever reason you think it is justified, then I will break that screwed up illusion of yours!"
Just a few streets away from the main Yakuza building, four girls were watching over the many heroes and policemen that were raiding the main base of the Shie Hassaikai.
"Tsh, I knew that driver wasn't any good. We're too late because of that dumbass." The tall woman, with brown tea-coloured hair, spat out while clicking her tongue.
"Don't be angry Mugino, we knew this job wasn't any good to begin with." A short blond girl with a blue beret tried to calm down the irritated woman.
"Frenda!" The woman called Mugino grabbed the head of the small blonde. "It's because of what happened at your suggested restaurant, we're actually in need of money! We can't even go to the spa because of you!"
"Aaaah! I'm sorry Mugino! Stop grabbing my head so tight, you're tearing my body apart! Kinuhata help me!" The short blonde, called Frenda, cried out for help.
"The whole area is super crowded with pro-heroes and police, while the yakuza are stubbornly fighting back. It isn't possible to get inside anymore, but we still super need the money... What do you think Takitsubo?" A rather short girl, with short-brown hair in a bob-cut, asked while ignoring Frenda that was still being strangled.
"..."
Next to the petite brown haired girl, called Takitsubo, stood a girl wearing a pink tracksuit and had black shoulder-length hair. She wasn't reacting however, as she just kept staring blankly into space.
Kinuhata checked her face.
"Takitsubo is super sleeping with her eyes open again ."
"We have wasted enough time!" Mugino shouted, finally having finished strangling the short blond girl. "Kinuhata, what does the contract state about dead or alive?"
"While the pay would be super lower, both targets will still have a payment if they pass away."
"That's still better than nothing." Mugino sighed. "We'll have only one shot though, if we don't want to deal with some damn heroes or police."
The tall woman then walked up to Takitsubo, who was still sleeping with her eyes open. She then roughly shook her to wake her up.
"It's time to do work, Quirk Stalker."
Out of her pocket Mugino grabbed a tiny white box. She opened it to get, what looked like, tiny crystals out of it. She pressed the tiny crystals into Takitsubo's hand.
Takitsubo, who had only just woken up, stared at the tiny objects in her hand.
"What's the matter, did you fall asleep again? Do I have to put them in your mouth for you?"
Takitsubo stared at Mugino with a black face for a few seconds. She then threw the tiny crystals in her mouth and swallowed. The other two girls kept silent as they observed her.
"Took you long enough… Now, tell me where the targets are." The frustrated tall woman ordered as two shining-green orbs appeared on each side of her shoulders.
"Hurry! We need to catch up to Mirio!" A tall man in a white suit and glasses ordered while running.
Midoriya Izuku, his hero name being Deku, was running together with Sir Nighteye, Eraser Head and a couple of other heroes and police officers.
Earlier when the group were trying to traverse the underground base, they were attacked by a Yakuza member with the quirk to move the solid walls and floors. Because of this, Mirio went ahead by using his quirk to easily navigate through the walls.
The enemy had also specifically targeted Eraser Head, as he had caused the most trouble against the previous group they faced. The three members apparently were part of the 'Eight Bullets' of the Shie Hassaikai. Tamaki, a.k.a Suneater, was left behind as he would take on the three Yakuza members.
After that the group were ambushed again by the wall-traversing Mimic. Eraser Head had almost been pushed through a hole that went to an unknown location. However Fat Gum and Kirishima jumped and pushed Aizawa away and they went inside instead.
There was little the group could do to help them. Right now, they had to focus on the task at hand: Arresting Overhaul and save Eri.
Suddenly the corridors became twisted and flexible, causing the heroes and the police officers to slow down.
"The ceiling! And Walls! And the ground! They're coming nearer!" Midoriya called out as he could feel cold sweat.
"It feels like we'll be crushed to death!" Eraser Head added as he tried to be composed.
"Oh my, they really have come this far already. And it took three of the 'Eight Bullet' to stop only one of the third year students of U.A." A mocking voice spoke to someone. Midoriya couldn't locate where the voice was coming from.
"Shut up Jaw, you're much weaker than they are."
"And still I will do a better job in just a few swift strokes."
While the heroes and police officers were trying their best not to fall, a wall opened up. Out of it came an human-like figure that threw objects towards the group.
With the little reaction time Midoriya had, he launched himself at one of the objects and kicked it away before it could find its way towards an officer. With an audible 'ding' it was reflected and upon inspecting the object it revealed itself to be a sharp metallic combat knife.
Eraser Head did the same, as he again used his scarf to whip out an incoming knife.
"AAAAH!"
It however wasn't enough. Midoriya hadn't even landed, as a third knife had found a target.
One of the officers had been hit by the sharp knife. The knife had hit him just below his collarbone and just missed the body armor.
He slowly slumbled to the ground as he grabbed onto the wound in pain. Blood began to flow out of the wound.
The two officers that were closest to him, immediately tried to close the wound.
"Now then..."
Midoriya looked at the source of the group's trubble.
Just 20 meters in front of him stood a man with a pinkish-green crocodile-like jaw. He was wearing a wrinkled suit without a tie and his slick, black hair was lazily pulled backwards. His most notable feature was the bicoloured jaw as it had muscle-like fibers.
The man with the Jaw then pulled out another combat knife.
"Which one of you is next?" He gleefully asked as he pointed his knife towards the group.
The man with the jaw seemed to be confident enough to take on the whole group. Midoriya realized however that this guy wasn't here to stop everyone at once. With his long range attacks and speed, he could keep a distance and harass the rescue group. He specifically targeted the weaker police officers, as they would be wounded more easily and some extra officers had to stay behind to take care of the wounded.
Midoriya glanced at Eraser Head and he nodded. Behind his yellow goggles, his eyes began to glow red. This yakuza member now couldn't use his quirk.
Deku buried his feet into the ground and with unprecedented speed launched himself towards the villain.
"So it's you?" the yakuza member answered himself as he was able to follow Deku's great speed.
Midoriya was surprised, as the man reacted to his high speed kick and then felt a stinging pain in his leg.
Deku landed behind him and when he wanted to move he then noticed a combat knife stuck sideways in his right leg.
Even with him unable to use his quirk, he had the reaction time to counter Deku's speed.
The man with the bicoloured jaw glared to Midoriya over his shoulder. The shocking pink and toxic green coloured eye stared right into Midoriya's soul.
Right after that Sir Nighteye closed the distance as he ran towards the man.
Out of his hand, Sir Nighteye threw small black seals with incredible speed. All of them were dodged as the jawed man ducked to the ground, taking on a tiger-like stance. Just visible through his wrinkled suit, he began to slightly grow in green and pink muscle. It reminded Midoriya of the villain Muscular.
The man then used his bicoloured arms and legs to launch himself towards Sir Nighteye.
It was a speed that could match Midoriya, but even with that speed Eraser Head threw his scarf and managed to catch it's right leg.
This caused the enemy to slow down and right before him Sir Nigteye went on the offencive. The enemy swiped his right arm and managed to tear the white suit of the pro-hero. Right after that with a few quick and audible impacts, the man with the bicoloured jaw was bounced up into the air.
"Even though I wasn't your target, you still reacted and scraped me." Sir Nighteye commented as he pushed up his glasses. "You're pretty strong."
Sir Nighteye then threw small black seals again. This time, all of them hit the Jaw mid-air and with a loud impact was slammed into the wall.
Most of the police force were quite baffled that Sir Nighteye could pull off such moves.
"Heh, thanks for the compliment." The enemy thanked as he was still stuck in the concrete wall.
He was still speaking in a rather casual way. It was as if he didn't feel any pain. This kept the heroes on high alert. It was also notable how his face seemed to have a small pink coloured line on it, like an egg that had been cracked. The line slowly vanished into its skin.
'Is he using his quirk to heal while Aizawa-sensei is looking at him? It could be that he's a mutant type and his quirk is only slightly decreased by sensei.' Midoriya thought as he observed the enemy, while also painfully pulling out the knife from his leg.
He didn't have the time to worry about this wound as the yakuza member spoke up again.
"You all work so well together… but," The ground began to crumble and the loud scream of Mimic was heard. "You're also forgetting something~."
The whole area began to warp again. One of the heroes called Rock Lock used his powers to lock some of the walls in their place. He wasn't in time however to stop the incoming walls in the middle of the room and the group became split in three. Sir Nighteye and the man with the bicoloured jaw were now isolated in one room.
"Don't tell me… the plan was to isolate me from the rest?" Sir Nighteye asked as he pushed up his glasses.
"I have to give the credit to you, your investigation skills are quite remarkable." The enemy complimented as he scratched the back of his head while sheepishly laughing.
"For this mission we had to do our homework after all." Sir Nighteye vaguely informed.
"So…" The room temperature felt colder as the tone of voice of the enemy changed. With his bicoloured eye he glared down to Sir Nighteye "Did you... perhaps find out something about me?"
"I know you're nicknamed 'Jaw' and a rather troublesome one to investigate." Sir Nighteye answered as he grabbed new black seals.
All of the sudden, both men could feel the ground shaking.
Towards the direction Overhaul was going, it sounded as if the entire underground system had collapsed.
"Oh?...A was a bit late, but it sounds like my investment is finally paying off." The Jaw coldly remarked.
Another earth shattering sound of an explosion was heard.
'This man is the main opposing figure within the Shie Hassaikai, but he's going so far as to order an attack on his own organisation?' Sasaki Mirai thought, as he could only make one conclusion about this man. '...He's dangerous!'
Just outside the entrance of the yakuza base the Ryukyu Agency had finally managed to detain the massive behemoth of a man named Katsukame Rikiya. Ryuko Tatsuma, Hado Nejire, Uraraka Ochaco and Asui Tsuyu had been fighting this man for a while now, until they finally had the upper hand against him.
He was now restrained within special made chains, with police officers close to him to keep him in check.
Both Uravity and Froppy were resting a bit because of extensive use of their quirks and Ryukyu was back to her original form instructing other heroes.
Hado Nejire, with her alias being 'Nejire Chan', was flying up in the air to observe the current progress of the raid.
She was wearing a royal blue skin-tight bodysuit, with turquoise coloured ribbons around her arms and ankles and yellow gauntlets.
While observing she could see that from all sides the police had blocked the entrances of the yakuza base. Strangely enough, most of the yakuza members didn't seem to flee at all.
Close to the yakuza building, she then spotted two shining-green orbs. There seem to be a couple of people close to them but they were too far for her to know sure.
"Huh? What could that be? It looks so strange…" She said to herself as while laying her finger on her chin.
The two green orbs soon shined brighter and were followed up by a loud explosion that covered the entire area with clouds of dust and debris.
Nejire put her two hands in front of her to protect herself from the dust.
"What was that all about?" Asked the surprised Nejire to herself.
Through the dust cloud, the two greenish orbs could still be seen and just like before, fired into the ground.
The amount of dust wasn't as great as before, but still enough to not clearly observe the surrounding area.
"Jeez, what is going on?!" She commented with irritation as she was enveloped by another dust cloud.
She wondered if she should go to that area to investigate.
That plan was foiled however as, when she turned to her team of the Ryukyu Agency, the tall muscled behemoth of a man had freed himself and was wreaking havoc again.
She took one more quick look at the direction of the greenish orbs, which were at that moment nowhere to be seen.
"...It's so strange!" She noted as she went back to fight the villain.
In the underground of the yakuza base, Kamijou Touma was facing Overhaul.
The yakuza boss remained calm and collected, but it was obvious he was getting irritated.
While holding Eri, the boy was still able to reflect any incoming attack by his quirk. This was all made worse by the fact that the Quirk-Destroying Drug didn't have any effect on him.
This is bothersome.
If the drug didn't work on the boy, could it be that it also wouldn't work on others?
In any case, he now had to deal with this boy as fast as he could.
He held back Nemoto Shen and Sakaki Deidoro, on purpose, to ambush any incoming hero. But now he didn't have a choice.
Just when he was about to give the sign, a deafening sound of an explosion was heard from above.
In the blink of an eye, a green light had burst out of the ceiling .
Like a smokescreen, the whole hall began to be covered in dust and no one could see clear anymore.
However two sounds could be heard clearly: Overhaul's growl of pain and the pitched sound of breaking glass.
"Boss! Are you alright?! Damn it, I knew he had reinforcements!" the usual calm and collected Chronostasis called out.
"HEY CHRONO! IS THE BOSS ALRIGHT?!" Nemoto Shin screamed further down the hall as he rushed down to his leader.
In only a split second the whole situation had been turned on its head.
Down on the ground lay Overhaul.
There was no possibility for him to react to the green light as it had impacted him. Like a hot knife through butter, it had cut through his shoulder and a part of his leg.
Even while he was in pain, he still remained calm.
'Someone used a laser quirk to shoot at me? How could they have possibly known my location? Is it because of that boy?' The young yakuza boss thought as he turned his gaze on Eri and the spiky-haired boy.
To his surprise, both the boy and Eri were covered with dust and debris from the ceiling. The boy was holding up his right hand and Overhaul made the conclusion that the boy was also targeted. Unlike him however, the boy had the reaction time to cancel out the laser.
Whoever was the assassin, it also tried to kill them with the laser quirk.
'I will deal with this later, I first need to use my quirk to fix my body…' Overhaul thought as he tried to touch his removed limbs.
Through the hole in the ceiling however, he could spot a green light from the upper floor bestowing upon him. It was obvious what this meant.
Another attack was coming.
Overhaul was still in the middle of putting himself back together and he wasn't in a position to distance himself away from the attack.
'Is this… it? I've barely scraped even a fraction of curing this world back to its original state and this was it?! Who else besides me would be able to cleanse this world from the sickness of quirks and the eradication of the syndromes of heroism and villainy? Who else but me will allow the yakuza to reclaim the power they once held over society?!' Chisaki Kai thought as he grinded his teeth.
With a shockwave, the green orb fired another attack towards Chisaki. This time it was aimed at the head and there was no possible way for him to dodge it. Kurono Hari and Nemoto Shin desperately tried to help Overhaul, but they wouldn't be fast enough to even approach him in time.
Chisaki watched in defiance of his incoming doom.
Just when the green beam was about to hit, all of a sudden someone blocked Chisaki's view from the bright green light and he heard the high pitched sound. It was a sound he was familiar with.
Right before him, with the right hand pointed up to the hole in the ceiling, stood his opponent.
The same opponent who had stubbornly opposed Overhaul and defended his possession.
There was no doubt about it.
The spiky-haired boy with the bandaged face had saved Overhaul.
Kurono, Shin and Eri were both in shock of what just happened and could only stare.
"Now... You're probably wondering why I saved a bastard like you." The spiky-haired boy told Overhaul as he turned around. "All I will say, is that I simply don't want you to die a useless death."
'This boy protected me... his enemy? He abandoned his defencive position to protect me?! This is ridiculous! He had done the illogical act of heroism! He's insane, he's… sick.' Overhaul thought as he was finally done healing himself.
"In that case... you've made the wrong move." Overhaul spoke to the spiky-haired teen.
Overhaul touched the ground again and multiple stone spikes came out of the ground, aimed at the teen.
Despite this surprise attack, Kamijou stoutly took on the attacks and with each incoming stone spike he made them crumble with his right hand.
Eri meanwhile was on the side of the battle. The whole fight had shifted its focus from her, towards the boy that was trying to save her. All the while she didn't even know his name.
But while the fight between Overhaul and the boy continued, the man in the black plague mask and black hat began to aim his gun towards the boy.
"He saved Overhaul? How dare he do that?! I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONE TO SERVE OVERHAUL LIKE THAT!"
The gun was fired.
This was not the gun that Chronostasis was using. This was a gun that shot deadly bullets of lead.
And it hit Kamijou in the left shoulder.
The boy clenched his teeth as he tensed up from the pain. This also caused one of the many stone spikes to scrape Kamijou's right hip.
The boy fell towards the ground, a pool of blood slowly expanded around him.
Eri could only watch in horror. This whole time the boy had been able to protect her. Even when out of nowhere a terrible green laser appeared, that could even bring that monster to his knees. But now her nightmare from before became reality.
"What… is going on here?"
Another surprise in the form of a blonde young adult presented itself. He wore a white skin-tight top with the number '1.000.000' stample across his chest with a bold, yellow front and a bright red cape.
His hero alias was Lemillion.
A bit further down the room lay Sakaki Deidoro, one of the Eight Bullets. Suffice to say that Lemillion had taken him down in a flash.
He had entered in either the best or worst timing, depending on who you'd ask.
"I guess it shouldn't matter what is going on. What does matter now, is that I will ask questions later!" Lemillion determently pushed onward into battle.
"Damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!" A woman with long tea-brown hair cursed. "How the hell could those pieces of garbage targets get away from this without dying?!"
"W-we'll have to think about that later Mugino, we need to get out here! If our faces get recognized by police, our careers will be over!" Frenda argued while trying to calm down Mugino.
"Police?... As if I'd care about some useless boy-scouts in blue uniforms! Who cares anymore?! Maybe I should just try to kill them all!"
"We super can't do that Mugino. Not only will we be considered villains, but also not part of the Dark Side Groups anymore." Kinuhata countered while trying to calm the Meltdowner.
"Then what do you suggest we do to get out of here?! That dumbass chauffeur was supposed to be our escape and he just drove off!" Mugino spat out, still showing no sign of calming down.
"Excuse me, but can you drive us to this location?"
The three girls stopped in their tracks and turned around.
Their monotone teammate Takitsubo had just casually walked up to a rather luxurious black car and asked the driver to take them to their safehouse.
The young blond man behind the wheel was just as surprised as the other members of ITEM.
"Eh? You girls need a ride?" The blonde driver asked.
"Tsh. No way he would drive such suspicious people like us." Mugino clicked her tongue.
"Well... sure. It's not like I have a place to return to…" The driver told the girls.
"He agreed?!" Mugino asked bewildered.
"And it's such a luxurious car as well! Good job Takitsubo!"
"It seems we finally got super luck this time."
"Well... whatever." Mugino sighed.
'But if he's anything like that previous piece of crap I will murder him.' The brown-haired beauty thought as she stepped into the Toyota Century.
Midoriya wasn't sure what was going on anymore. At one moment they get attacked by Toga Himiko and Twice from the League of Villains and the other the whole underground base gets shaken by an explosion.
Just before, together with Eraser Head, he had defeated the ground shifting Mimic while Toga and Twice had fled the scene.
Midoriya's right foot was still hurting from the stabwound, caused by the man with the Jaw. He didn't have the time to bleed. Right now, his top priority was catching up with Mirio and saving Eri.
For a second he glanced back.
'Aizawa sensei said that Sir Nighteye would be able to handle his fight… I hope everyone is doing well in their warzone.' Midoriya thought as he stepped up his speed with One For All.
Further back in the underground base, the fight between Sir Nighteye and the Jaw was still ongoing.
Both held their own advantages during the fight.
The Jaw, with his fast speed and strength, was constantly harassing Sir Nighteye with a barrage of knives.
Sir Nighteye meanwhile, with his inhuman reaction speed, replied kindly in turn by dodging and throwing his own barrage of black seals.
Both sides were about equally matched in strength.
'What is wrong with him?' Thought Sir Nighteye as he threw another pair of black seals. Both seals hit the enemy in the stomach, but despite this the Jaw quickly recovered and followed up with another fresh attack. 'He's barely reacting to my attacks and I'm running out of seals… I need to finish this quickly.'
The Jaw created distance from the pro-hero.
"Are you getting tired yet, Mr. Sasaki? It feels like you're throwing less useless stamps then before. Are you perhaps running out?" The man with the bicoloured Jaw mocked as he dug his hands and feet into the ground. "Either way, this will be the end!"
Jaw launched himself forward and on both his hands the bicoloured pink and greenish muscles began to form into claws.
"You may be correct on that statement." Sir Nighteye responded as he held his last seal in his right hand and placed it in his neck, ready to throw it.
He didn't however do that to throw the seal .
With his thumb he grabbed his cut up white jacket-coat and easily removed it from this body. The incoming Jaw was surprised as suddenly the white coat was thrown into his face and obstructing his line of sight. With this advantage, Sir Nighteye grabbed his opponent's wrist and neck and with a swing threw him onto the ground.
On the Jaw's human skinned body, green and pinkish cracks began to appear. They were slowly being closed and Sir Nighteye wasted no time. He grabbed his hidden handcuffs and placed them around the Jaw's wrists.
"Villain Jaw, you are under arrest!" Sir Nighteye finished while handcuffing the yakuza member.
The man with the Jaw gave a vile look towards the pro-hero and it seemed he wasn't going to give up. But at that moment police and hero reinforcements finally arrived.
The Jaw observed them and his resistance disappeared.
"...Heh, I guess I am." The Jaw casually accepted, while being held down on the ground.
"You shouldn't be so casual about it." Sasaki Mirai told the man as he pushed up his glasses. "We're going to have a nice interview after this operation."
The Jaw responded by bursting out in laughter. This unsettled not only the just arrived reinforcements but also Sir Nighteye himself.
"I'm looking forward to it."
Meanwhile the battle between Overhaul and Mirio had devastated the halls of the underground base. Mirio was able to knock down both Nemoto Shin and Chronostasis in a flash, but throughout the battle he was having a lot of trouble with Overhaul.
This whole time Mirio had held the upper hand and protected both Eri and the unconscious boy by wrapping them around his red cape and dodging all incoming attacks, ranging from stone pillars to gunshots.
Mirio didn't expect however that Shin was up sooner then he had expected and with the one red anti-quirk bullet Shin shot towards Eri and the bleeding boy.
With all his strength he had, Mirio had heroically thrown himself in front of the bullet. The result being that, while he was still alive, he had lost his quirk.
But even after losing his quirk, Mirio still fought on.
He dodged, he punched, he protected and… he got wounded.
There was only so much Mirio could do without his quirk and now it had shown its limit.
Multiple rock spikes had pierced his body and now, just like the spiky-haired boy, he was bleeding.
All the while still standing to keep Eri and the boy protected.
"Did you want to become a hero that badly? Just to save Eri that badly, Lemillion?!"
Overhaul himself had enough of this.
First that bandaged boy, that wasn't even a hero, came and had foolishly protected not only Eri but even himself. And how this other fool of a human being, a moron believing he was going to be a hero, had given him several punches and setbacks.
"The quirks, the heroes, the villains, all of it is the disease of our time."
Chisaki's expression was almost deformed by rage as he had and with his naked hand he touched the ground.
"I'll fix guys like you. With Eri's power."
Before Overhaul could finish the job, the wall that was close to him bursted open. With green sparks by a certain boy in a green jumpsuit came out of it.
Even after breaking the wall he didn't break his momentum as he went straight towards Overhaul and punished the left side of his arm.
All the while the battle between Deku and Overhaul was happening, the spiky-haired boy squeezed his eyes and touched his wound with his hand.
'What... happened?' The boy thought as he slowly woke up.
He noticed that he was wrapped in red cloth and that the girl he was trying to save was right beside him.
He also noticed that some people were talking to each other, but it all sounded muffled to him and therefore was unable to understand it.
Suddenly he felt himself to be picked up and with what little he could see was barraged by stone pillars again.
'...Right, that man with the mask… I was fighting him… I have to help...'
A combination of a nightlong crawl through vents with a dislocated arm and the wounds from the previous fight had left the spiky-haired boy exhausted.
He suddenly could feel pulled again, as he also saw the figure of a mutated man with four arms and the distinctive plague mask.
"I will… Save you both... so stand!" Kamijou heard from the person that was dragging him.
'Is that… Mirio?'
Suddenly from the impact from the ground, he was launched away in the underground hall.
His surroundings seemed to be collapsing as he was still conscious enough to break his fall by rolling over the ground, just before hitting a wall.
The pain he felt at that moment did make him focus more because of the adrenaline. He then grabbed both his gunshot wound and his hip and then squeezed it as hard as he could.
While his hands became bloodied, his consciousness became sharper by a little.
But that was enough for him.
He began to stand up and forced himself to look again.
He wasn't sure how it had happened, but right in front of him he could see the girl with the bluish-white hair again.
Her red eyes, filled with tears, looked at him.
'Touma'
The voice of a girl echoed through his head.
In his mind. The image of a girl with similar coloured hair appeared again.
Everything appeared hazy, but this girl… he could see her clear as day.
Was this the real reason he was going after Eri? Because she had similar coloured hair? It all felt wrong for Touma and he didn't even know where these memories were coming from.
It was all just strange but he felt that if he reached out his hand to this girl, all would be alright.
"ERI!"
A distant scream was heard behind him.
He was somehow distracted enough by the girl in his mind, that he couldn't pay attention to the problems at hand anymore.
He then, for the last time, looked at the girl with bluish-white hair and green eyes.
'I'll promise that I will find you. But this comes first.'
The boy turned around and walked towards the battle. Not even turning around a second time to this memory of his. His memory of the silver haired girl.
Midoriya and Mirio were cornered.
This whole time they had been attacked by the multi armed atrocity that was Overhaul. Their opponent had used his quirk to combine himself with Nemoto Shin.
Midoriya could barely keep up with this monster, while the exhausted and wounded Mirio had tried to get Eri and the bandaged boy to safety.
They were now inside a cave, formed by the stone pillars from Overhaul's previous attacks.
"Midoriya, do you think we could escape from here with your powers?"
"If it's only Eri, then maybe. But I can't risk leaving you both behind. Seeing how we're pinned down, we could try to hold until the other heroes come."
While the two heroes in training talked about their options, Eri was trying to attend the wounded boy.
After all of this, he still was alive.
She had used one of her own bandages to close one of the boy's wounds.
While trying to help him, she could see his blood on her hands.
Burned into her memory, Eri could still hear the line that the monster had told her. 'Each and every action you make kills people. You're cursed.'
Tears fell down her cheek as she faced the two boys.
"That's enough…"
Both boys turned towards the girl.
"...I'm sorry, it's all my fault."
She wiped away her tears with her palms.
"It's because of me…*hick*... that everyone is suffering this much… I'm… cursed…"
Both Midoriya and Mirio looked at her with spite and distress. She had been convinced she was cursed.
"Indeed."
The three of them shot their heads towards the entrance.
"You should have convinced them, because I'm going to cure the sickness from-" A shuffling sound behind them was heard and it had stopped Overhaul from finishing his sentence.
Eri couldn't believe her eyes.
The bloodied boy had stood up.
He was pinching the wound on his hip with his left. With his right hand, he wiped away the blood from his lip.
"Let me guess… Heroes." The spiky-haired spoke weakly.
No one stopped the boy, as he determently walked towards the mutilated body of Overhaul.
"While heroes do have their flaws. That is not for you to decide. If anything, to you all things you dislike might be a sickness. However, you can't deny peoples will and intentions to just do whatever you like. That is your delusion… or rather your illusion."
The boy clenched his teeth and ran towards the multi-armed biotic mess of Chisaki Kai.
The monster didn't stay idle as one of his arms grew in muscle and tried to smash the boy.
With one high pitched sound of breaking glass, the attack was repelled. Not only that, but the repelled arm instandly shanked in size and was also split in two different arms.
Chisaki Kai was unable to move because of the repelled arm. When his mutated arm had hit his right hand it had turned his own arm, and also the one that he fused with, back to its original state.
"AND I WILL BREAK THAT ILLUSION!"
With one last pitched sound of breaking glass, Kamijou's fist connected with the monster's face.
Chisaki felt his face being dragged away by the fist. It felt as if he was being dragged out of his own body, while the original body of Nemoto Shin appeared.
With only the touch of his right hand, Kamijou Touma had split up two bodies that had been fused together.
Chisaki could only think of one thing before he passed out: 'Could it be that he's… a cure?'
The man, who had only recently split up, fell onto the ground.
Midoriya, Mirio and Eri all watched the spiky-haired boy accomplish the impossible.
"K-Kamijou? Is that you?" Midoriya stuttered as he looked at the boy's back.
"Yeah, it's me… but before you ask more…" The boy with red bandages turned his bloodied head.
"Bring me to my usual hospital first…" He requested before passing out knowing that Eri was finally safe.
Writers notes:
And thus comes the end of chapter six. I will be honest, this chapter was a production hell. I first started to write the side story about Kirishima meeting Sogiita, but then I realized that most people would be disappointed if I didn't do the Overhaul fight first. The fist part of this chapter was done rather fast but then it became on hold when I got a new job. More months past and I rewatched MHA season 4 to get back into the flow. That is how within three weeks I finished it.
This chapter has a lot of references from episode 10 and 12 of MHA season 4. I really didn't want to write scenes from those episodes that were already very well made, so I spiced it up with new fights. My aim is to respect both franchises so I hope I did that well enough. Let me know what you thought of the fights and the chapter overall in the reviews!
For now I have decided to do one more closing chapter after this one that ties all loose ends of this arc. After that I will release a sidestory about Kirishima meeting Sogiita. Kirishima didn't really have a presence in this chapter because of that and I hope people look forward to this sidestory.
If there are other suggestions for side stories or ideas than I would like to know in the reviews! I always read and respond to them with each new chapter.
In case you can't wait and want your questions to be answered sooner, you can also PM me. I'll usually respond within a week.
I wish you all a great day and untill next time,
